Talking about his lifestyle:
Until recently, acting as a career didn’t cross Pattinson’s mind. He was planning to go to university to study international relations, with hopes of becoming a politician. ”Acting was something I did for fun. I just went to a little drama group in London, I genuinely didn’t consider acting as a career,” he says. “Just last year, I thought I was going to give up acting, and then this year, you’re asked to go to this party and that. Its just kind of surreal. But I don’t really live any differently; my lifestyle in Los Angeles is waiting for the phone to ring, that’s about it. I’m really boring! I just stay at home, watch tv and eat a lot of fast food. That’s really exciting, isn’t it?” adds Pattinson with a laugh.

They may be young, but both Pattinson and Stewart come across as grounded kids who know where their priorites lie.

Thanks for sharing the interview, Aimee. Interesting how he said that people have put him on a pedastal without really knowing what he's done. Scary, indeed. That's what bothers me about the hysterical, screaming 13 year olds who call him Edward and don't even know his real name. I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say we like Rob for Rob. Not because he's playing Edward or because he's impossibly handsome (not that it hurts.) We are familiar with his other films and his music and so we can appreciate him for who he is and all his many beautiful, uh, "qualities." I can't wait to see what he does next!

PrettyOK - totally agree. I wasn't really aware of who Rob Pattinson was until he was cast as Edward either. Wow, I can't believe there was a time I would have had no reaction to his name. But once I watched a few interviews with him I just wanted more and more. I'm sure he wasn't aspiring to this level of celebrity and especially not this quickly but at least it has given him the exposure he totally deserves.
I just finished watching the AFF Q&A as well. Could he be lovelier? I wish I could understand some of the parts a little better, though. But I always enjoy looking at him even if I can't hear him. I love it, it's like his hair volume is directly proportional to how awkward/embarassed he feels. It just gets bigger and better!

What I like most about Rob is that he is true to himself. He doesn't seem to give a rats ass about his clothes (or how many days he wears them), his hair or if he's clean shaven or not.

In the second video of the AFF Q&A that poor microphone is sure taking a beating from Rob. He just keeps smacking it all through minute 5. And that was his second one. Little rough there, Rob.
It probably just malfunctioned from being in such close proximity to his mouth. Maybe that answers the "why a megaphone in Mexico?" question. He must have beaten all the microphones to death.
