Well, it's about time that Summit gave the thumb's up. I love how Rob and Kristen sent out the memo together...very Edward and Bella!

Cheers!

Yay!

I have a feeling that New Moon is going to be amazing. They know what they are dealing with now...and know that they have a huge following with high expectations. Summit's future depends on it. If New Moon suffers the same flaws as Twilight...I'm not sure people will be quite as forgiving.

I can't wait to see who they cast as Aro and Jane! Woo Hooo!

This was a comment on Lion & Lamb in regards to this news...

"Party at the Cullen mansion!!"

LMAO :D

I'll join that party... I bet this memo has been sat waiting to get posted since they started selling tickets...

Kathryn---I was thinking the same thing. I was just reading that the initial presales were tallied at $75K. I am betting much more with the coming holiday week.

WHHHOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!

SO Happy!!!!!!!

Only thing is more than half the movie won't have Rob in it !!! :-(

Lynn said...

Kate---I'm thinking that Melissa Rosenberg's NM screenplay will include more insight into Edward's journey as a tracker. I doubt that Summit and the fans will be happy to see less Edward in any part of the film.

Yay! Great news! I'm so happy ,little dance on my chair and cheers for Rob and Kristen!

I hope they will have bigger budget.

I just convinced one of my friends who wasn't very happy with the movie to go and see it again.

Kate said...

Lynn I hope so ;-) Also Rob did say that he liked the fact that Edward came back in the big suicide scene and didn't want that to be changed!

Lynn said...

It would seem logical...and the Rob fans would never want any less. I love New Moon....I spent several years like Bella did in the beginning....I really felt her pain in many ways. I hope it works out that Edward's POV is more visible.

Twilight-Maggie said...

I'm not exactly sure how they can pull it off. I mean isn't the viewer supposed to believe that Edward really left Bella...without any intention of coming back?

I think the best place to incorporate Edward would be in dreams and hallucinations. Othewise the climax at the end would be...anticlimactic.

I agree Mag. Although I would love to see Rob in New Moon as much as he was in Twilight, it will kill the whole concept of the book. Edward is gone. You are in pain while reading it, we should be in pain while watching it.

I agree Maggie the whole idea of New Moon is that Edward is gone. I figure that for condensation of the book to script there will just be less of all the Jacob/Bella stuff. The only thing I would like included that's not in the book is the part that SM included as an extra where Edward gets the call from Rosalie he throws his phone in the trash.

Twilight-Maggie said...

I think the viewer will long to see Edward almost as much as Bella; and when he finally appears it will be that much better.

I think the Jake stuff will be fun to watch. The werewolves are a huge part of this series, let's not forget that. I am personally psyched to watch it.

Completely agree with you Goz. And I hope that is one instance where they let Rob have his way on not appearing until Italy. His voice will have to be enough. (when Bella puts herself in danger to hear his voice.)
Also, I hope Kristen Stewart is sincere in her words on this memo. I know of course it most likely isn't written by her and Rob, that they just signed it. She just annoys me, she seems like such a royal pain in the ass.
Sorry I am just not a fan of hers. She needs to have regard for the people who made this movie #1, the Twilight fans.

I think Kristen is appreciative of the fans very much. Just watch this video:

She is just a very angsty teenager :)

I think Kristen might be a bit of a brat at times...but I also think that is why she has made it so far in the biz. Showbusiness can chew you up and spit you out if you don't have the skin for it. She is young and has a lot of responsibility on her shoulder's.

I respect the hell out of her.

I dunno, I really like Kristen Stewart, she's saucy and kind of mean but she is incredibly articulate, intelligent and edgy. I mean she is young, so, her unstable brain will probably continue to divulge misconstrued quotes for a few years to come.

I think she gets more of a bad rap, because, she doesn't censor herself and why should she?

AWWW yay!! :D
What a sweet message. Those two are so nice to their fans. Love them both!

Kate said...

Gosh What did I start. I personally think they will stay true to the book and we'll just heard Edwards voice until the Italy part but like Lisa said maybe they won't have as much of Bella and Jacob as in the book although you know "New Moon" is gonna be Taylor's chance to shine!!

Kate said...

That should have said just hear not just heard.

I need your edit button Lynn LOL

Seeing this letter in my inbox this morning seriously made my day.

I agree with all of you. I really think the movie will have more impact if they keep him out of it, and play it true to the book. Rob himself said it would be ridiculous if they started adding him here and there in the next movie. If they only add Edward as he was added in the book (and if you're anything like me, you lived for those parts) it will be magic.
