Twilight Role by Reality Show

From The Hollywood Reporter:

COLOGNE, Germany -- The words "casting couch" immediately spring to mind when you hear the concept of a new German reality show: 12 young actresses compete for a role in a Hollywood production.

But "Mission Hollywood" is no joke. The show, which premieres June 8 in primetime on leading German network RTL, features Til Schweiger, Germany's biggest star, and the prize -- a role in one of the "Twilight" sequels -- is enough to entice even the most skeptical would-be thespian.

RTL and production house Tresor TV also have secured an impressive lineup of jury judges to assess the talent. Permanent jury members Schweiger and famed acting coach Bernhard Hiller will be joined every week by a third juror, among them Carmen Electra, producer Erwin Stoff ("The Day the Earth Stood Still"), Summit Entertainment exec Michael Schaefer and German A-list actors Thomas Kretschmann and Moritz Bleibtreu.

"Mission Hollywood" hopes to capitalize on the phenomenal ratings success of casting shows like "Germany's Next Top Model," which has become a flagship hit for RTL competitor Pro7.

Like the modeling show, contestants in "Mission Hollywood" will have to go through the motions of the real job -- carrying out stunts and re-enacting classic movie scenes from films such as "Dirty Dancing," "Misery" or "9 1/2 Weeks."

A role in one of the movies is a good prize. Does the winner get to kiss Rob on screen too? Maybe too much to ask.

The gif: I love this interview in Tara Bank's show. He bit her, the lucky girl. And he was even sexier that day...

Yes, Rhonda, is there any "normal" scene in 9 1/2 weeks? Maybe they are going to choose that one with the ice cubes... hum?? It is amazing to think that Mickey R. was a hottie for some people one day... My mother liked him...

I do live in Germany at the moment but Im not in the mood to publicly humiliate myself right now *lol*

I do wonder what kind of part that is to be honest. Like walking in the background a lot or an actual talking part and then which one. I might have to do some digging and find out.

unfortunately you can't sign up anymore.
most of the episodes are already completed.
i wonder, too what kind of role it is. what small parts does new moon have?
the main cast is casted, to find an extra you don't have to make a casting show...what's left?

That is just so weird... casting can be humiliating enough, no need to do it on a TV show. *And imagine the type of welcome on the set: "Oh, you are the reality show cast member!". I don't believe the cast would be mean to the "chosen one", but it will be some strange situation!

Gozde: I looked over the result of the age poll, and didn't see any post of your reaction to its result. Are you disapointed that only 5700 persons voted? It's more than the previous one to my knowledge. Or have the 10% of "under 16" scared you?

Carmen Electra? She isn't someone that I would look to for credible decision making on talent. KL

This is some cheesy shit...point blank period... They need to come to LA like everybody else and go through the humiliating process of auditioning for crazy ass roles...LOL

This sounds shady...I wonder who they're casting , like an extra or a minor role?

Wow. That sounds like a great prize but I was waiting for the April Fool's punch line. Are you Punking us Goz?? ; )

Well as far as I know the 12 chosen candidates where casted from acting schools so they did not have castings like in "Germany's Next Topmodel".They only took girls who where at an acting school already,so normal people didn't get the chance to try. That is probably good.
I'm from Germany and I'm not sure if I like the idea.I think it's a bit weird to take a girl that was casted in a casting show, you should take a girl that fits the role best whatever character it is...

Huh - Thanks Anon. As Rob would say it sounds kind of "Bizahhh"

Normally I think when I read about things like TwiCon or any competition where the first price is a tour on the New Moon Set there is always the footnote: u have to be citizen of the US or France or anything else then I think: poor me, I live in Germany.
NOW there'll be this casting show from Germany for Germans...great, cool, with 32 I'm probably too old but who cares ;o) BUT they allready start shooting this show since March. It's getting on air in June and there was no announcement for a castring in any newspaper, yellow press or stuff like that *ggrrrr*...so this time I was in the right country but didn't have a chance either...and again poor me :D
