I'm not trying to "crush" your robsession, but please let's be realistic!

Three things...

One. No way on this earth would any young actress who is trying to make a name for herself, turn down a starring role opposite the hottest young actor in the world. If this movie is a hit, then Ms. De Ravin can kiss television goodbye as she'll then have a shot at a film career. And is it just me or does anyone else see a resemblence in her to Rob's ex, Nina? I've heard the chemistry between them during the audition is what got her the part. Hmmm...just thinking. Not saying anything. Just thinking.

Two. I don't normally watch the videos as I find them highly intrusive, but your comments got me curious, so I peeked. And I laughed right out loud. These were just little girls and so, I give them a pass. I actually thought it was kind of cute and Rob did not look upset at all. Embarassed a little, but he was grinning. Although he is right about that sound they make. It does sound like something you'd hear upon entering the gates of hell. LOL.

And to Mrs. R...

Your comment about the intensity of these young girls. Well, I've got a theory about that. Little girls are growing up too soon these days. Why they don't even market dolls to girls anymore past the age of 10. Society is sexualizing them at a younger age with the lip gloss, body glitter, blue nail polish and clothes that belong on a 16 year old. And then we've got the gall to be shocked to find out that 12 year olds are engaged in oral sex hook up parties (rolls my eyes).

In every revolution (and I'm talking about the sexual one that women THINK they have won), there is always fallout. And the fallout is the legacy of cheap sex that we've handed down to the younger generation. And btw...

I didn't say that. Rob did. He once said that sex amoungst his generation was "cheap." I was always surprised he didn't get into any trouble for that comment.

Maybe because no one dared challenge the truth?

Thanks Show...

As to where I heard this comment from Rob? I don't know. It was from a print interview back when he was promoting Twilight. See, except for a few photos that I simply cannot live without; some from "Comic Con" which are very special to me as that is where I first discovered who he was, "Rome Rob" where my favorite picture of him of all time was taken and of course the "GQ" photo shoot where he looks likes "Jesus Gone Wild", and lest we forget "shirtless Rob"
with that stunning "V" that makes me go weak in the knees, I don't save anything (interviews, videos, You Tube stuff) because one, I don't know how and two, once I see something I tend to retain it and don't need to go back and look at it again. Although there are two videos I wouldn't mind having...
One, The Variety interview with Anne Thompson (I think that interview captured the true essence of Rob) and two, that damn "Bump n Grind" video from Planet Hollywood. One of the sexiest damn things I ever seen. When I looked at that I wondered...does he have any idea how that looks? Then the little monster looked up and with that shit eating grin on his face I thought...oh he knows exactly what that looks like. I swear, he's the devil in carnate. Like I said...JESUS GONE WILD. That's him.
So...where was I (who the hell knows?), oh yes, I have no idea where I heard that 'cheap sex' comment from Rob. And if I may make one more comment (oh please, go right ahead)...

These comparisons to Elvis and James Dean. I hear ya. When he first walked out on stage at Comic Con (first time I ever laid eyes on him), I thought he looked like a hybrid of both. My best friend (who thinks I need to have my head examined over all of this), calls him 'baby Elvis' and she's not even into him. My sister who thinks I should be put in a home because of all of this thinks that he is the second coming of James Dean and she's not into him either.
Funny thing is, alot of people are not even aware of who Robert Pattinson is yet, but they're gonna be. By the end of 2010, after two more Twilight films, Remember Me and Unbound Captives, there isn't gonna be a person on this planet who won't know who he is.

His problem at the moment is living down the one thing he dreaded happening the most...hype. And the only way he can do that, is through his work. He's got to show the world that he isn't just another current teen hearthrob destined to fade away when his little girl audience outgrows him. He's got to show the world that he's a talent to be reckoned with.

AND HE WILL! OF THAT I HAVE NO DOUBT! IF I DID, I WOULD NOT BE SITTING HERE WASTING MY TIME SINGING HIS PRAISES!

I believe in ya darlin'...

Nik: I love your posts. They're always so insightful and you're very perceptive.
I agree completely apart from one thing: I *can* see why established actresses would shy away from doing a movie with Rob. At this point, Rob's star eclipses everything around it and I can see how an actress wouldn't want to be lost in the shuffle of the fandemonium. Esp. if she's already made a name for herself and is truly looking for oscar-worthy roles. Rob has to prove that he's a credible actor who can carry a movie on merit and not on his charm, good looks and teenybopper/tween fanbase.

@ Nikola 6

I couldn't agree more - great comments , thank you

Nik and Liza I agree totally.

Now about one of the supposed actresses that turned the role down. That girl from Juno. Well she is a lot like Kristen were she is all about acting and not fame. So I can completely see her turning the role down.

Let me clarify...

The role of Ally is essentially "the girlfried" role and no, established actresses like Page and Hathaway (who've both already been Oscar nominated) are not lookin for "girlfriend" roles to support the male lead. They're looking for "star vehicles" (scripts that revolve around them) because...they are already stars. Now they will take "girlfriend" roles opposite A-list superstars; Brad Pitt, George Clooney, Johnny Depp, etc. because they figure those films will make some coin. But an established actress is not going to play the supporting role to a 'young upstart.' And at the moment (until he shows what he's got beyone Twilight), Rob is the 'new kid in town' and there's so much hype around him that I'm sure there are more than a few actresses in that town who think he's the 'flavor of the month' and when Twilight is over, he'll fade back into oblivion.

But for actresses looking to launch a film career (Ms. De Ravin whose claim to fame is a tv series) or Emmy Rossum (who's trying to jump start her film career since her disappointing debut in Phantom Of The Opera 4-5 years ago), this is the kind of role they would go after. Especially opposite the most famous young actor in the world (and they wouldn't care why he is famous). They just want to ride the coatails of the attention surrounding Rob and hopefully (if the film is good and they give a credible performance), they'll get a film career out of it too.

Did I clarify anything or just create a bigger clusterfuck with my incoherant and rambling thoughts?

I'm very good a clusterfuckery. And I bake a mean chocolate chip cookie too. Yes, Nikola Six is a woman of many talents.

Shutting up is not one of them.
