Nicole Kidman: Robert Pattinson is a FINE Actor

From MTV.com:

While Nicole Kidman had been rumored to star alongside "New Moon" heartthrob Robert Pattinson in the upcoming flick "Bel Ami," it was later announced that the Oscar-winning actress would not be involved after all.

Kidman recently told MTV News that the two were in talks to star together in the film about journalist Georges Duroy (Pattinson) and his rise to the top of Parisian high society in the 1890s. Kidman would have played Madeline Forestier, Duroy's onetime mentor.

"I was [in talks for it], and we couldn't work out the dates," Kidman said.

Just because she hasn't acted alongside Pattinson yet doesn't mean she hasn't checked out his previous work. "He's great," she said, adding that she had seen "Twilight." "I haven't seen the new one ['New Moon']."

The actress said Pattinson has that something special and foresees a long career for him in Hollywood, so maybe their paths could cross on a movie set one day. "I think he's a really fine actor, actually, because he wants to be great," she said. "He's working with the right people."

Although no female lead has been cast for "Bel Ami," Pattinson said in May the actress who will take on the role "needs to be literally inspirational." And speaking of inspirational women, Pattinson described Jenny Lumet, who wrote the screenplay, as "a genius," saying that her script really connected with him.

"Bel Ami" is scheduled to start shooting in Paris next year. Pattinson managed to draw some parallels between his character in "Bel Ami" and Edward Cullen from "Twilight," saying, "They're both about commitment."

This reporter has the wrong info. These are quotes about Remember Me.

Why do Rob's fans have to do all the fact checking for these people? LOL

It is nice however that Nicole Kidman Acknowledges that Rob wants to be a fine actor and working with the right people. Good to know.

Columnist Anne Thompson said that Rob has a good head on his shoulders! I still think his performance as Salvadore Dali was a good one!

He said in a recent interview that they do have the actress, but he can't say who. And that they will start filming in Bucharest(I think that's how you spell it).

Interesting enough that today I saw a post about Nicole. She was a bit tipsy the other night out with her husband. Good times. And she is going to be in that new movie called NINE I think. It looks really good.

my guess is it could be Naomi Watts, Renee Zellweger or maybe even Reese Witherspoon (who's done some period pieces b4)

YUP- Ive seen fans correct to sites on numerous occasions. Makes me happy, esp when its BS!! I think ROb has the great ablility to really dissassemble a character and put it back together with his little twist in there to make it his own. In all great actors they ace this part. Robs an honor student! I find it comforting that she said hes working with the right people. We all know how money hungry Hollywood would give their right arm just to put themselves near Rob have hand on his purse strings. Im glad he's getting great advice and is doing is homework! GO for it ROb!

They actually considered Nicole K. for Madleine Forestier???
No way, she is much to old for that role, she would have fit Madame Walter perfectly though!
What about Kirsten Dunst for Madleine?
Or Romola Garai?

And yes, Jenny Lumet wrote the script for Remember me....is it that hard to write a coherent artikel???
