It's not about R & K, and I don't even think it's about E & B (maybe channeling Breaking Dawn, but even that's too limited). They're playing timeless "lovers" here for the camera. Very pampered and posed by the photog.

LOL!! So true.

At first I was not sold on that whole robsten thing, now Im at the point where Im close to start screaming at them to set the fucking record straight. I used to be one of those promotion conspiracy people who thought its all a PR trick. Now Im not sharing that opinion anymore because if this is getting on any longer it will start damaging the whole thing. If they date or not.

cher said...: i don't know. I thought they are too big of stars now to work with this "wedding" photographer. The makeup, style and composition look just too familiar as those cheesy glamor shots for newly weds like those Asian couples normally do. :D
IMO they deserve a much better photographer like VF's.

These spreads are so reminiscent of photosessions of couples for fashion magazines. You know, the poses by the column and shooting from below; riding the motorbike in the garden. I wonder if there's going to be a slowmotion video, while they're running down the stairs...

I have to say I have been subscribing to HB for quite some time and I DO NOT REMEMBER EVER seeing a guy on the cover of this magazine!! So very proud or ROB!!!!!!
(Last time they did a "couple" shoot I can remember is Sarah Jessica Parker and "Mr. Big" around SATC movie. But Mr. Big of course was not on the cover.)

In terms of the photography and high fashion, I serious think they could have done a much better job. These pictures are lovely only because Rob and Kristen's inner self shine through. Compare with VF pictures of Rob and Interview (even Allure) pictures of Kristen. Theses look so cheesy. And the high couture they picked for Kristen is too severe.

spellbound said...: I've seen the comment today over and over that Rob seems much more into Kristen than she is into him. In my opinion, I think that's to be expected almost. After all, Rob is just a much more demonstrative, open person than Kristen is. He really does wear his heart on his sleeve. Whatever he's feeling is written right there on his face & in his eyes. Kristen is another matter entirely. I think she is just as crazy about him as he is about her. From videos I've seen of them together & previous photos, she is always staring at him and gets this cute little shy smile. More recently, she always seems to want to touch him, almost like she is holding herself back. (That I can certainly understand!) But she will never show that as much as Rob does. It's just not her nature. I agree with you, not a fan of this shoot at all. I think it's really bland and uninspired. There are two sets - The long black dresses for the Twi-moms and the motorbike/red velvet for the younger fans. The long black dresses do Kristen absolutely no justice, she's too small to pull them off. They swamp her. The other two outfits are ok. Her hair is too black and the make-up is uninspired. What's Rob wearing apart from the black jean-tie/white shirt combo? Gotta scroll up, can't remember.

The setting and backdrop recalls to me the covers of tacky, trashy romances from the 70's and 80's, Mills & Boon and that kind of carp. As for the (dreaded word) chemistry between the two, I've seen more intimacy in their red carpet photos back in the day than I do here. Rob knows how to strike a pose but the only thing I'm getting from Kristen is an 'Aren't you all jealous of me' vibe - 'Aren't I such a lucky girl to be sitting on Rob's knee?'

I'm very disappointed with it from a styling point of view. Oh, yeah, and the lighting - which could have actually saved it - is drab.; November 5, 2009 at 4:16 PM
