Robert Pattinson loses out to Gerard Butler in Best British Actor in Hollywood Poll

Can't win em all Rob but don't worry there's still plenty of time-Kate

From OK (UK) Magazine

GERARD Butler has beaten Robert Pattinson to take the crown of best British actor in Hollywood.

The Scottish heartthrob, who is best known for flexing his muscles in 300, beat stars such as Christian Bale and double Oscar-winner Daniel Day Lewis.

Robert Pattinson came seventh in the survey by LoveFilm, despite regularly topping sexiest men ever polls.

Helen Cowley, the editor at LoveFilm, believes the poll shows 40-year-old Gerard had got “some real bite in Hollywood”.

She said "And even though Robert Pattinson is getting some deserved attention, it's the older generation of actors that still have sway in Hollywood.”

This poll is ridiculous. Gerard Butler is Scottish, not British!

Rob has lots of years ahead to win awards such as this and SMA so I'm not worried. He just needs some more film experience under his belt to be considered.

well, there isn't any Best Scottish actor in Hollywood poll, and to be precise - this is called Best Brittish, not English actor. Scotland is a part from Great Britain, aye?
Either way - Butler IS better actor than Robert. And don't get me wrong here ;)

Oh please, Gerard Butler over so many amazing other actors out there? I'm sorry but some of the best actors, not even thinking of Robert right now, are Brits and Gerard Butler is not even a name I would have conjured up!

Meh. Is this a "poll" anyone actually pays attention to? I mean, who are they and who knew or cared about this poll?

For non-Tween/non-Twi generation but who still fell in love with Robert Pattinson, it may have something to do with "first love" more than anything else. Just like, Keanu Reeves was my first love, and although I just adore Robert and have seen all his films and will see all his future films, Keanu is still my first love.
Just saying . . .
Plus, I don't think they got all the population samples.

British means you come from Great Britain, not England. It was, in fact, politically established by the union of England and Scotland. The United Kingdom of Great Britain now includes England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Wales. Here endeth the lesson.

So, you can call him british, but don't call him english. lol
