I was wrong, I admit it. I freaked out with the whole Leo comparision, thinking it was going to contrast him in a lame way. But the whole leo comparison was that Robert didn't want to be leo. Whew. lol

This is not an interview really for a Robert fan, it covers things most fans already know. But it is a nice primer for VF readers who would never watch Twilight to see he's more interesting than just a pretty face.

I refuse to read this until I get my magazine :)(that's what she said...) but jeez the number of pictures (glorious and gorgeous!) in this article are amazing. I've seen a lot of celebrity spreads in VF since I have a subscription, but I have NEVER seen one with this many pictures. Wowza. He has ARRIVED. (Of course we all knew that a long time ago....)

I enjoyed the article and have no idea what all the controversy is about. Sounds exactly like the Rob we have all come to know and love. The photos are amazing. He looks incredibly handsome & sexy.

Article is also up on Vanity Fair website

Does anybody know if Rob is just getting $10 million for all these movies! THAT MAKES ME SO MAD! WHAT KIND OF A AGENT DOES HE HAVE! WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Please somebody correct me if I am wrong! I see she often mentioned how much he was making why no comment on that!

On second thought may he is getting some kind of a percentage deal also! I can't believe a money maker like Rob is being treated like this and other so called big stars are raking in $20 million dollar deals with their pictures crapping out at the theatres! Please somebody in the know let me in on the inner workings of his contract! Please forgive my rantings but I think it is so unfair because all of this has really taken a toll on Rob's life and I hate to see him cheated while Summit rakes in the dough!

I just read the Vanity Fair article which was posted (going to pick up the magazine this week) and I must say, except for Catherine’s “drunk” comment the article was pretty good. I was fearful after the excerpt was released and all hell broke loose in cyber world. Happy to see that it was just overreaction.

GOROB, I hope that the $10 million that was quoted is incorrect. While $10mill is a lot of money, it sounds a little low considering how much money twilight has made Summit/ and is slatted to make. I would hope his agent/manager were able to re-negotiate after Twilight was such a hit. In addition to the twilight saga pay check, one wonders if he has a piece of the merchandises that have his face plastered all over it. I hope he does have a piece of the action.

nobody has an objection about the Hugh Grant analogy?

I just read that Nicole Kidman is gonna star opposite Rob in Belami! WOW!

I didn't really get the Hugh Grant comparison either. lol I would have thought they would have name dropped someone who likes to play "weirdos," since that was the running idea throughout.

I still think the GQ article was the best profile on him by far. That was just a rich article.

I don't think that Leo is a much better actor than Hugh! I hate it when people compare actors! Why can't Rob be his own icon in the business and not be compared to Orlando or Leo or Hugh which is their way of trying to box Rob in! Personally I think Rob can go farther than people give him credit for! By the way I got the info about Bel Ami from Production Weekly Twitter! It will 2 directors and also star Nicole Kidman and it starts shooting in Feb! GODZE(wink)

I didn't really find anything here to be all that shocking or worth getting upset over! I still think that CH's comments were kinda dumb, considering the situation, but other than that...{shrugs}

I liked the article, don't see why he'd be compaired to Hugh Grant, that guy can't do anything but light comedy and isn't nearly as good looking. I don't find him like Leo either, Leo has become a much better actor over the years (The Aviator, Blood Diamond, The Departed as examples)He still has a baby face and I never found him personally attractive myself..he is cute..but not my type, and certainly doesn't have Rob's depth as a person, always too full of himself.

Nicole Kidman..oh dear, I hope she's not going to be the kiss of death again...

I think that this article is like Robert Pattinson 101, and as Twilight came out a year ago, I think it's a bit too late for that. But it's nice to read how he felt about it all from his own words.
I was expecting something like a Q&A kind of thing, instead of a bunch of quotes from CH and CW.
Anyway I don't think this article makes him look bad at all.
I don't get the comparison to Hugh Grant, or even Leo, for that matters. Rob is not someone you can easily label or categorize.

I thought it was a bit patronising to the fandom, though Comic Con might leave any sane journalist reeling. Pegged as teens again, damnit. I'm no teen.

Otherwise, some good insights here and there, some new quotes.

What a total contrast to the Harper's photos, eh? VF is all brood and slouch, but in a sort of fake weekend-in-the-Hamptons vignette, compared to the surreal, gothic,ambiguous-era Harper's shoot, where they obviously had some genuine smiles. I would have like a few more smiling VF photos.

Great article!

Interesting article, though I think a comparison with Johnny Depp would be more appropriate, like other times. Just because Hugh Grant is British, does not mean they are the same.

Definitely going to pick this up asap.
