NEW* Robert Pattinson in Japan : Press Conf 3 (Nov 2009)

It scares me so much when they keep saying "Eclipse is a harsher story"...

I'm scared about Eclipse,Gozde.I think DS is gonna make a story for guys, not for girls.I hope he knows that the main story of the saga is E/B's love story and not the fighting.Who cares about the fights, anyway?

It seems to me that none of the Eclipse cast have any positive comments to make about the movie experience. I know that they are still in PR mode for NM, but I am truly worried about this next movie. I haven't seen too much I like about DS. Hope Stephenie has some approval rights.
Anyway, Rob is at it again, his natural, adorable, hotness!!!!

OH please do not ruin Eclipse, it's my fav book. Rob looks relaxed in this clip, he seems to enjoy going to Japan :)

"Action packed" . . . "harsher story" . . . what about the love story? leg-hitch? Bracelet? THE proposal? B punching J? E threatening J?

Eclipse is my fave book too! Been paranoid since I found out DS was directing it a few months ago. I think he will make it more into a "guy" movie . . .

Nevertheless, I'd still see it - just to see Rob.

I don't want it to be too harsh. I mean, there are so many beautiful Edward-Bella moments in Eclipse. I hope thay will put most of them in the movie.

And what about so more action-oriented? There are some fights only at the end of the book. I guess those flashbacks from the past will give more fights :(

Eclipse is my favourite too. I think it's the favourite book of the majority. People have really big expactations about this one. And judging from what we have already heard from the cast, from Rob especially, it doesn't sound well. And if the cast doesn't feel good about it,what about us???

The only way it to wait and see the results. The we can judge...

Eclipse is my favorite book, too, because of all the tender moments between Edward and Bella! However, there are also so many backstories (Rosalie, Jasper, werewolf legend) and, of course, the new vampire and Victoria battles. It gives David Slade lots of excuses to incorporate action. He has posted some beautiful photographs via twitter, though, so I can only hope that side of him will find its way into the movie, as well.

Oh please! Don't judge David Slade before you have even seen a clip from the movie. Of course there is going to be a love story! New Moon was boring me to death with all these B/J talking scenes, so it's going to be refreshing to get a little bit more action. I think Eclipse will be the best movie in the franchise.

@Birgit - I agree! I hope I got across in my earlier comment that David Slade clearly has two sides to his persona and that the Eclipse story line offers him the opportunity to showcase both. But I would be lying if I said I didn't want more Robward in this movie :)

David Slade sent out about 4 or 5 tweets the other day where he is in post production...

He said he's about ready to get the composer, and that Edward has a real presence in the movie. WTF does that mean?

Edward should be in the entire movie except for when Bella goes to la push.

I'm worried too, but DS said he filmed several love scenes between e&b.

Correction, E won't be in all the back stories of rose, Jasper & Riley...

@rpattzgirl - Good morning! I think it means that DS is very aware of the nervous "twittering" of Robward fans everywhere ;)

@RPG: I think David was referring to Edward having a strong emotionally effective presence in the movie, rather than actual time on screen. He obviously does feel the need to reassure, it seems. lol

Action movies are nice, I hope they can balance it with the romance as well.

Guys...

Summit's not gonna blow this. They know who their 'core' audience is and what they're doing and I think Ms. Meyer still has some clout in all of this. Perhaps they're trying to expand the audience? Alot of the critcism leveled towards these films is that the Cullens are bloodless, benign, whatever and maybe they want to juice it up a bit. But that said, Summit would be out their minds to risk the love story for more blood. David Spade might be a bit of a maverick, but this isn't his baby. He's merely a cog in this massive wheel.

Also...
I always have to shake my head and laugh when people are disappointed when their books are made into films. They want LITERAL translations and that simply is not possible. Film is a different medium. Visual and therefore requires an ADAPTATION. Changes will and MUST be made.

As to whether some detect negativity from the cast towards Spade, remember, they'd just finished working with Chris (someone they were all salivating over) and to quote Rob..."that man's a saint." And maybe David Slade is not. And that doesn't mean he's going to turn out a bad film.

But before we have kittens over this, lets just wait and see. It could turn out to be the best film of the bunch.

eclipse is my favorite book too!!I don't understand why do they have to make a movie for men if they haven't watched so far what makes them think they're gonna watch it this time
I like NM but I felt that the true love story with Bella and Edward was missing..in that sense I felt that twilight was better than NM with the love, atraction and passion...restrain, that wasn't in Nm...I still love Chris W he did great

Harsh is defintely not the word I'd like to be used for describing Eclipse. And if it is there would be smth wrong with this movie.

Gozde,
I'm with you. I don't want to hear that there is more action because I'm guessing it's not the kind of action I'm interested in seeing.

Maybe Remember Me will deliver.

@kmountainlion - Judging from the trailer alone, Remember Me is definitely going to deliver. I cannot wait for that movie, even though it will probably be the death of me :)
