Robert Pattinson Named One of the Most Beautiful People of the Decade by Interview Magazine

Interview Magazine Selected the Twenty Most Beautiful People of the Decade and Robert Pattinson is one of them! Check out Interview Magazine for more pictures and the rest of the gorgeous people they selected :)

A bit of Brando, a twinge of Dean, the Twilight star possesses that slightly strange alien quality that turns brooding good looks into the iconic. He has just enough edge to make teens and tabloids go into "crazed hunter" mode—have you seen Robsessed?—but also a disarming, slightly crippling self-awareness. It's early yet for Pattinson, but we're eagerly awaiting part two of his entertaining saga.

On life before Twilight:

"We spent the better part of a year just getting drunk every night... "I don't know if that counts as ‘struggling.'"

Thanks Interview Magazine :)

SEE? I knew he was an alien!! No human has ever been this magnificent!

Ah, the "Brando" comment. For the longest time I couldn't see it. James Dean? Sure. But then I recently caught Last Tango In Paris and my jaw hit my chest. I knew I was looking at Rob Pattinson in about 25 years. It's something in the eyes.

My god. He's going to be a star for the next 40 years. A great one.

Another thought...

Some magazine (maybe Vanity Fair?) put Clooney on the cover a bit ago and declared him..."The Last Movie Star."

Nope. Sorry. There's one more.

That pic...it is my iPhone wallpaper..*Drool*. Talent, personality and looks..really unfair that he has it all...not really. He deserves it :-)

Chace Crawford? Zac Efron? God, I agree with Robert, but most of the list sounds like it was picked by a 10 year old girl.

He is beautiful! And the thing that makes me wiggle & giggle is the looks + the sweet/funny personality. Most beautiful men have giant egos or sum zero personality.

One more thought?

With that iconic beauty (and he's only 23. wait until he actually grows into it at about 35...god help us all) and with the talent I think he's got (acting, writing, directing, producing, not to mention the music), if he wants it...he could be one of the rulers of that industry some day.

I don't think I've ever seen a young talent with such limitless possibilities before him. And the devestating beauty is just the cherry on top. He's the complete package.

There's a saying in Hollywood that God does not give with both hands. Meaning, that you're blessed in some areas, but not in all. I'm beginning to think that with Robert Pattinson, God most definitely gave with both hands.

Abundantly.

And I still say, People magazine is going to give him the "100 Most Beautiful People In The World" cover this spring. You watch and see.

And not only to sell their magazines, but because he is. Honestly, is there really another choice for that cover?

the stare..
oh my
my panties dropped..*sigh*
I want to lick him all!!!

nikola6 said...

Just went and looked through the list and I gotta say, not a mutt in the bunch. Curious about something though...

Rob's picture isn't showing up there. Wasn't this the photo shoot that got pulled? I remember being so mad at myself because I didn't 'lick n save' them before they were gone.

Goz? Any word on when or if these photos will be ever be released? For what possible reason on earth would they hold them as they are arguably the best shots ever taken of him (along with Bruce Weber's for VF).

I would so like to have them one day. Learned my lesson though. As soon as I see something I like...it's lick n save. IMMEDIATELY! If the house were on fire, I'd be licking and saving as I ran out the door. To hell with my grandmama's china.

It's so sad.

I'm a wee bit offended---"One of?"! "The", the word is "The". ; ) Not that I'm biased toward the beauty that is our Rob or anything... I mean, he's like a work of art---like Michelangelo's David. (Gwen's in a daze now, picturing a museum of Rob statues and floor-to-ceiling paintings/photos...) Sigh.

I so agree Gwen! "The One" is more accurate!

LMAO, Nik! "If the house were on fire, I'd be licking and saving as I ran out the door. To hell with my grandmama's china."

I completely agree. :)

I agree with nikola6 Rob is "going to be a star for the next 40 years. A great one." He is a beautiful, sexy guy and a good actor.

jc(britlover) said...

Seriously, the posted pic does have an early Brando quality. Brando exuded plenty of angst in several roles. But Rob also exudes pure sex, baby!

Latebloomer said...

While the pic is TO DIE FOR!!!!... (can you say "coming to get you and f*ck you NOW!)...I will withhold judgement of Rob's star power for a "bit" longer.

To me there is still alot of "growing" that needs to happen here before Rob a TRUE A-lister. Sorry, I'm just a tad on the critical side... and I've been going to movies for a little bit longer than some of you... so I think I know a true actor when I see one. However... an actor has to develop his craft... and that takes time.

Our young man has plenty of that... in spades! I hope he puts it to good use.

BTW... I hope someone offers him a decent comedy one of these days... something about that ashtray scene in RM tells me he as a good sense of comedic timing.

Love ya Rob... mean it.
Happy Christmas!

jc(britlover) said...

Definitely agree w/the comedic timing. I love that bit from the scene in the RM trailer.

Robert Pattinson is NOT SEXY!! Thud, the wine glasses and asses hit the floor, the choking and spewing, the wide eyes and red faces of fury, the trembling fingers ready to curse me and if only you had a gun to shoot me, but perhaps I'm just a lurker. But no, I'm NOT. Rob IS beautiful and so fascinating that I would give a finger to spend one day in his life, to talk to him about, well everything, to see how he looks when he wakes up in the morning, how he's dealing with it all,to just hug him and touch his hair, smell him and help him decide what to wear. But, SEXY IMO = An attractive, strong, confident, comfortable, and sensitive enough man who obviously desires to engage in a relationship with the opposite sex. Nothing I have read or heard from Rob meets this criteria. Perhaps, in time. Let the bullets fly!

jc(britlover) said...

@lallieb
Au contraire! I absolutely agree with your entire assessment, keeping in mind that the selfsame qualities you have described could be construed as "sexy" by some.

Latebloomer...

Let me see if I can explain why it is that I hold the opinions of this young man that I do. First off, I was raised in Hollywood as my folks were in the business. I've been around talent all of my life and I can recognize it from a football field away.

I think we may be talking about two different things here, one being stardom and the other being talent. In terms of stardom yes, I do believe that Robert Pattinson will be (if he wants it) a star for the next 40 years or so. He has an iconic beauty (that is so reminicent of other iconic beauties; Dean, Presley, Brando) that sets him apart from the pack. There are other beauties too (the Chace Crawfords, the Zak Efrons), but theirs is a bland beauty. Rob's is different. So different that you can't quite put your finger on it. Nobody has been able to explain just what it is about this guy that sets him apart from the rest. And that's because he has that elusive quality that is so rare these days but is an absolute must for long term stardom. He has mystery. Even with all the publicity and hype surrounding him this past year AND even as much as he's revealed, we still don't know him. And that's the trick, the secret...to present yourself, yet, to reveal very little (and when all of this Twilight hysteria dies down and he can finally shut up, you watch and see if doesn't become one of those elusive stars...like Depp for example). Also I think Rob has a wisdom about all of this. It's like he's figured out how to do this where so many of his age, haven't got a clue. And he secured his 'iconic' role of Edward Cullen, his first time up to bat in America. By the time this saga is put to bed, he could be sitting atop a three billion dollar franchise. That will keep him a star for quite some time. Now we come to talent...

This is the unknown. We know he's got some, but the question is...how much? And does he have enough to sustain him when his youth is gone and that extrodinary beauty begins to age? I don't know. No one does. But my gut says, yes, he does. But even if his talent turns out to be average, his extrodinary and unique looks alone will keep him a star for decades.

As we sit here, Hollywood is grooming him to be the next major male film star. Clooney, Pitt, Depp, Crowe, Cruise are all approaching 50. Hell, even DiCaprio just turned 35. Hollywood must find it's new blood. At this point I would have to say that of the younger generation, that Ryan Gosling is probably the most talented of the bunch. But you give a Rob Pattinson a few more opportunities in interesting and challenging roles he might just take a seat along side Gosling.

I'm convinced of his talent by seeing him in just three roles; Art in HTB, Dali in LA and Edward in Twi. Three very diverse roles in which he doesn't even look like the same man. I am convinced.

And I didn't even mention the other quality that goes into making a star...

Sensuality. It oozes off of him. Out of every pour.

But I guess it would be redundant to go on and on about that about here. There isn't a person here that isn't completely aware of his 'heat' factor. And hold onto your hats ladies. The older he gets, the hotter that flame is gonna rise.

Now ALL of this said, he could implode tomorrow and that would be that. You can have all the beauty and talent in the world and still, a career in the movies is a 50/50 role of the dice.

Nik

(and I haven't even mentioned his unique musical abilities. something else that sets him apart from the pack)

@Nik - You are so right about everything! And I love "hearing" your analysis of things...you are so insightful!! =)

jc(britlover) said...

@nikola6
You are right about the enigma that is Rob. Aside from all his extraordiary traits, he also has one very important quality-charisma. That certain je ne sais quoi that is only attached to some, but not all, celebrities. And he is so young and unassuming that it magnifies his uniqueness. The stars are surely aligned in his favor.

Treasure_7 said...

He positively is beautiful!!

lallieb said...

@nikola6: thoughtful and informed analysis of Rob's appeal and potential future.
@jc: your responses to Nik were right on and IMO nailed it - he is an enigma and it is all about the charisma, which he has no idea he posseses, which only adds to it.
I won't apologize for my comment about him not being sexy, you're right jc. I was feeling very frustrated about people getting carried away with sexually objectifying Rob to fulfill their fantasies. There's nothing wrong with that, per se, and I can understand it, but I just respect him as a living, breathing, human being to not want to see him perceived solely that way, which surely makes me unpopular here. Even though his photo shoots invite it, I wonder if that is the response he anticipates from fans. Maybe he does or more plausible, he's just doing his job and now trying to figure it out? Maybe I'm not giving him enough credit? Maybe I should shut up and just enjoy the gift of Rob and that he got out of LA and is safely in London for the holidays with his family.
