Robert Pattinson's Little Ashes Gets a Special Screening in Australia

Our affiliates and good friends at Robert Pattinson Australia arranged a special screening of Little Ashes in Australia! So exciting! I wish I had the chance to see Little Ashes on the big screen...Robvador belongs on the big screen :) Please show your support by attending the movie, show cinemas how much we want to see Robert Pattinson movies! Come on Oz! Yes We Can! *fist in the air!* :)

Here's what Maria from RP Australia says:

Well I can honestly say I’ve been waiting for this day for a very long time. Sydney please show your support of Rob by coming along to this special screening of Little Ashes at The Ritz Cinema, Randwick at 7.30 pm on Wednesday 9 December 2009. This is the first time Little Ashes has been screened in Australia. The Ritz have put a lot of faith in RPAU so I’m counting on you to show them how much we want to see Rob’s indie films. Seriously if you haven’t seen Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Salvador Dali, then I can’t urge you enough to come along - you will not be disappointed. Even if you have seen it, as I have countless times, there is nothing like seeing Rob on the big screen. Tickets can be purchased at the box office or online by simplying clicking HERE. And if you are having problems buying online then just give the Ritz a call. I know I’ve already bought my tickets. Thanks also to Tamara at Kojo Pictures for the faith!

Classification is MA15+ which means if you are under 15 you must be accompanied by parent or guardian.

@ADM, and for the amazing music!!! One of the most beautiful scores in ages!!
It´s a shame that it can´be bought in any places, I know it cause I´d tried again and again. Just can catch 4 pieces_I think that in My Robert Pattinson blog...

I was able to see LA on the big scrren. I was so busy watching Rob I'm not sure I caught all the plot. The musical score was breathtaking. I'd buy the CD in a second

Athena said...

@ Gozde: done, both in Sydney and Adelaide :D, although I don't have many friends who are into Rob, unfortunately :(... anyway, I'm sure the Aussie-born Rob fans will fill the Ritz up!

Bugger, that's not fair. Lol you can't get it out here at the video clubs, so can't even watch it small screen. Lol thanks for the you tube clips...*Grin* maybe if they still showing it in Feb I'll get a look in. Be in Oz then (kiwi chick :P )

@Su Miguel Mara emailed me a few weeks ago that there are discussions at the min with iTunes to release soundtrack although it's now out of his hands, but he will let me know when available. I will let Goz know when I know.
Love you all!

Maria said...

@Bouncy72 if the Ritz gets a better response then they will consider further screenings in February.

Gozde, you are awesome :D Please everyone support Rob & this beautiful movie by attending. Let's show everyone in Oz how much we all adore Rob & how much we want to see his movies. Would be amazing if this screening could be a sell out & further screenings could be considered :D

I agree about the score Su, the most beautiful music. I just adore it. Fingers crossed Itunes will have it available for us all soon.

Haha @Bouncy72 - I have seen this film numerous times as I own the DVD, but nothing beats Rob on the big screen. This is my favourite role of Rob's to date - if you think he's put amazing effort into bringing Eddie to life - it's nothing compared to Dali (disclaimer: in my opinion)

I'm not in Australia nor am I an Australian, but let me just say that I am so overwhelmed by the support that Rob's fans are showing here and since I can't go to Australia to support him and his movie I will just pray that it will be a sold-out event.

Go Australian Rpattz!!

PS. Do you think there will be a chance that LA will be shown in Asia specifically in the Philippines? I do want to watch it myself.

The Astor in Melb is a great old art deco theatre just near my work, and it's run by beautiful people who have been trying to get Rob movies, they haven't had any luck with the contacts/distributors
- but the OzRob ladies they made this happen, love them so.

The Astor is likely to get a crowd who just want to see a movie about Dali - so it will be great exposure, we also just had a Dali exhibition recently so interest could be high for this.

@Maria: I also posted about the soundtrack earlier, but if you are following up on the release then I'll stop being redundant.

I luv Gary Ryan's work, and his the Cadaques pieces are wonderful.

I was lucky enuff to attend a private screening of LA in NYC...and I have to be honest...This movie was one of my fav's of Robert...he nailed it! I just hope peeps can get over the whole (for lack of a better word) "gay" theme...which btw...was soooo faaken HOT! All 3 actors did an amazing job portraying (sp?) their roles of each artist...SD, FGL and LB. The music was perfect! Robert's take on the essence of Dali was on da money!! I hope all that get the opp to see this movie on the big screen will enjoy it as much as I did!

Rob was great in this picture! I found the picture kind of erotic with Rob and Javier in scenes together! That score should be up for an Oscar! It's a shame the Academy Awards are so full of politics, when they don't consider a picture Oscar worthy no matter how beautiful a score it is they will not nominate it for an award!

I PURCHASED THIS DVD ON EBAY A FEW MONTHS AGO & THIS MOVIE & ROB'S PORTRAYL OF DALI ARE EXCEPTIONALLY BRILLIANT. THIS IS HIS FINEST WORK TO DATE & I BELIEVE THAT WE HAVE ONLY JUST SEEN A DROP IN HIS OCEAN OF TALENT WITH THIS FILM & HIS MORE RECENT WORKS. HE HAS SAID THAT HE IN NOT AN ACTOR & HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE'S DOING HALF THE TIME.HE HAS BEEN BLESSED WITH AN INNATE ABILITY TO UNDERSTAND & CONVEY HUMAN EMOTIONS WHICH REACH OUT & TOUCH PEOPLE HEARTS. THIS IS NOT SOMETHING THAT I BELIEVE YOU CAN LEARN IT COMES FROM A SPECIAL PLACE WITHIN. HIS "STAR" HAS ONLY JUST NOW BEGUN TO SHINE.......GIVE HIM A FEW MORE YEARS & HE WILL HAVE OSCAR WINNER TO ADD TO HIS CV.....I HOPE THAT ROB HEARS OF THIS ACHIEVEMENT FOR LITTLE ASHES ON THE BIG SCREEN HERE IN OZ, I THINK HE WOULD BE CHUFFED TO HEAR OF THIS........

ladykanga said...

KATE,GODZE,DANI, MAYBE YOU CAN FIND A WAY TO CONTACT ROB'S PEOPLE SO THAT HE HEARS OF THIS SPECIAL SCREENING IF HE ISN'T ALREADY AWARE OF IT. TO KNOW THAT THIS IS SCREENING SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN ON DVD RELEASE WOULD REALLY HELP VALIDATE HIS BELIEF IN HIS OWN PERSONAL PERFORMANCE. (WE ALL KNOW HOW SELF DEPRACATING HE CAN BE)
(jmho)

@Kespax: I went to Melbourne specifically to see the Dalì exhibition and loved it! :D I wanted to go again around October, but unfortunately I couldn't :(!

Dalì is certainly my favourite role (together with Toby Jugg), so far! I can't wait for the next three, though. I have the feeling that Remember Me, Unbound Captives and Bel Ami are going to utterly blow me away! :D I'm so looking forward to those!

Congratulations RPAU. I'll be supporting you in spirit.

Oh no!!!! I fly into Sydney the 11th Dec, so will miss it! What a bummer, I would totally be there otherwise..... Good work guys I hope you get a great turn out.

If any more events come up in Sydney between 10-4th Jan let me know, and I will be there - Any chance of 'How to be'?!

Enjoy the night!

Maria said...

Haha @twi_chic well funny you should mention HTB - working on it. Ritz thinking about it but not sure if you will be there. And @ladykanga agree 100% Rob in a few years will be unstoppable.

Yay for the OzPattz!!!
I have also been onto Tamara at Kojo Pics to see if they will be screening in Perth. We are just so far away from the rest of the capital cities in Oz. She was very helpful and they are keen to screen in each of the Australian states major cities so - fingers-crossed for Rob as Dali - can't wait to see it on the BIG screen!

JandR said...

Athena - good work - you have your ticket already!!

I just got back from Sydney where I saw NM at midnight at the Ritz - I know you couldn't make it cos you had friends over from Italy - am I right?? Hope you had a great time. But one day we are going to have to meet my friend... ;))

Enjoy Little Ashes - young Rob Dali is divine!

JandR said...

and Maria - you guys are gunning it! HTB at the Ritz - that I will make a return trip to Sydney for.

Maria said...

@JandR I have given Tamara contacts in Perth already. We are working towards every major city. Adelaide is confirmed. Melbourne confirmed. Kingscliff confirmed. I spoke to Brisbane today and have passed on to Tamara. So don't worry everyone I wasn't being selfish with just Sydney. And HTB is hopefully on its way too.

@JandR: yes, unfortunately I missed the midnight event because I had friends over from Italy... but the Sunday after they left I saw New Moon in Gold Class! :D Loved it, but I think I have to see it again! :)

Indeed, we must meet one day! I certainly wouldn't mind seeing How To Be on the big screen as well! :)

When "Little Ashes" will be released in the U.S in January 2010. i hope that people not necessarily robsessed fans will be able to see the talented RP in all his glory. As for me this is the best film of Rob ever. I was anxious and at the same time curious to see this movie which was criticized for its homo-theme still prevalent in our times. This is a work of art by the director who brought to life the struggles and "liberation" of the great artist,Dali. I'll love to watch it again.
