MTV's Adam Rosenberg weighs in on how Water for Elephants would effect Breaking Dawn:
The stars of "Twilight" are certainly capitalizing on the success of the angsty vampire phenomenon. I just wonder: with such a large portion of the ensemble landing roles in other films, what will that mean for the production of the still-unannounced adaptation of "Breaking Dawn," the final chapter in Stephenie Meyer's series? Hard to say, but that definitely leaves a big question mark hovering over this latest bit of potential casting news.
The word is that Robert Pattinson may soon be sharing a bill with two-time Best Actor Oscar winner Sean Penn in an adaptation of Sara Gruen's best-selling book, "Water for Elephants," Variety reported yesterday. The news describes the two superstars as "circling" the gig -- ie they're in talks right now -- though Variety mentions that Pattinson at least will likely land the part.
The adaptation will be directed by "I Am Legend" helmer Francis Lawrence, from a script penned by Richard LaGravenese. The story follows a young man -- presumably Pattinson -- who drops out of school after his parents are killed to join the circus. Penn would play a disturbed animal trainer who works for said circus while the previously confirmed Reese Withspoon would play his wife.
Fox 2000's plan is to be shooting by June. Meaning anyone who had hopes that "Breaking Dawn" would shoot over the summer for a fall 2010 release had best adjust their expectations. It seems more likely that "Twilight" fans will be waiting at least a year before they see the Meyer adaptations wrap up, more if Summit goes ahead with the rumored plan to break the final book into two films. I don't think there's really a chance that "Breaking Dawn" won't happen, but these various "Twilight" actor casting announcement do have me wondering at the "when."
Gozde: At the New Moon Press Conference in LA Rob said they would be shooting Breaking Dawn in Fall 2010 but added that it might change. Nothing is set yet but Breaking Dawn WILL be made 'cause I need to see this:

i never thought BD would be shot in summer nor did i think they could possibly give us a 2010 release for BD...where do these folks get that info? I'll share my theory/wishes :)
I think BD will be 2 movies, shot in early fall at the same time. 1st movie will have a summer 2011 release. Not 4th of July bc thats Harry Potter. But summer. Maybe Memorial Day...dont know if another blockbuster has claimed memorial day yet. THEN i am hoping BD2 will be released Nov. 2011...kinda nostalgic. and i also dont wanna wait til summer2012 for the final installment....and i dont want ROB having to do more twi stuff in 2012.....its time to hand him over to the adults full time.

Yes, I want to see Rob do "the breathtaking smile of exultation," and some of those scenes on the island. Especially the one where Bella vomits sweetly all over him...er...NOT. ;) Some talk they have a director on board for BD, but I'll wait for the actual announce - no premature..um... speculation.

Oh I'm excited for this movie, I'm going to read the book very very soon! But it does seem like it would be a good story therefore a great movie.
I hope that Robert will sign up for the role if he is interested in it (which apparently he is). They just need to change the name of the lead in that case (like I said before, it's a matter of principle LOL).
I also like Reese, she's a good actress. The only one I don't like is Sean Penn, he just gets on my nerves, he's irritating...
Now about BD if it will shoot I'm thinking it will start shooting sometime in September maybe? So that will be plenty of time if they're shooting "Water for Elephants" in June.

BD will just have to wait a year. Rob doesn't look 17, but it's a fantasy movie. Lets just go with however he looks at the time. He's still young and won't look too much older than he looks now. When he sports his beard in real life is when he starts looking older than 23. Fresh face shaven Rob can still pull it off.

Poor ROb by the time he starts shooting BD he'll be an eyebrow virgin all over again. I hope they dont overdo it! Theyre gonna probably release BD both next year. I doubt this year. He said repeatedly he's booked solid. The only way I see him doing it is if he gives up ANY free time.
