From MTV
Along with newly announced musical performances from Madonna and Haitian artist Emeline Michel, a number of stars of the screen will be participating in the "Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief" telethon, airing Friday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV and many other networks

Brad Pitt, Ben Stiller, Chris Rock, Clint Eastwood, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jon Stewart, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Nicole Kidman, Robert Pattinson, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hanks and Will Smith are among the many participants joining George Clooney, Wyclef Jean and CNN's Anderson Cooper for the event.

Additionally, a number of the music industry's biggest stars are lined up to perform at the show. Beyoncé (performing in London), Madonna (in New York) and Michel (in Los Angeles) are performers who have been added in the past 24 hours. They join the list of other musicians set to play including Bruce Springsteen, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, Shakira and Sting in New York City. In London, Coldplay will perform, and there will be a group performance by Jay-Z, Rihanna and U2's Bono and The Edge.

Music performances from "Hope for Haiti Now" will be available for purchase and download on the iTunes Store. Beginning on Friday, iTunes customers will be able to exclusively pre-order both the "Hope for Haiti Now" full performance album ($7.99) and the full two-hour video telecast ($1.99). Pre-orders will be delivered in the days following the telethon. Individual audio performances will also be available for purchase and download for 99 cents each in the days following the telethon. Apple, the record labels and the artists will donate their share of the proceeds to Haiti relief funds managed by "Hope for Haiti Now" charities.

Facebook and Twitter are the official social-media partners for the telethon. All donations will benefit Oxfam America, Partners in Health, Red Cross, UNICEF and Wyclef's Yele Haiti foundation. The Clinton Bush Haiti Fund and United Nations World Food Programme will also benefit from the telethon's efforts, as aid will be split evenly among each organization's relief programs for the earthquake-ravaged island.

This is amazing, the names on the list! So impressive---the collaborative effort. Makes you want to cry to see such good will. Want to hug everyone involved! ; )

Beyonce is performing in London? If Rob gets to present that it may be like a dream come true for him! hahaha I dont know why this makes me laugh so much.
He has such an odd fascination with beyonce! Maybe he'll dance around to Single Ladies like he did backstage at the VMAs. I only hope he'd do it with the cameras rolling this time. That would be priceless.

Ohhh Rob will like Beyonce in London. LOL. Wonder if KStu will be there? Or is she in France? Not so far she can't get there and I would imagine she would want to help as well.

Hey Gwen!
I saw on a previous post that you had read the script for Bel Ami. I was just wondering if you could be the best NB ever and send it to me?
my email is: bpelzl@gmail.com
I have already read the book and I loved it! The script would just totally fulfill by NB fantasies! haha.

Give me two minutes, Becca! ; )

NBs take care of one another! Yes, we do!

Haystack, I think Kristen's on her way to Sundance? Two of her movies open Saturday for screening. And read somewhere yesterday that she couldn't help with the telethon because of Sundance.

Can't help but love how the performance artists pull together whenever they are needed. This makes me so proud. Well done, George Clooney! This is the way to use your star power. Seems like Rob was one of the first mentioned to participate. His presence will definitely be felt.

I'd like to think Princess Di is smiling down on Rob for this--I choose to believe she would have had an affinity for him like the rest of us! With the paparazzi hounding Rob so much this past year, I have thought of her often and the tragedy of her death. May she rest in peace but her spirit carried on in the good works we all try to do, esp during a tragedy like Haiti.

Gwenie - Will you send it to me as well, please.

If that doesn't go through (have had some problems) will give you another address.

Thanks!

So various sources say he will answer telethon phones - oh my, how much does it cost to call UK from Oz?
Will this thing screen here???

You lucky bastards!

Re Beyonce, it's all kind of subliminal stuff - he said his dearly departed Patty dog walked like Beyonce; he said Peter Facinelli should do the Beyonce biopic after that Beyonce-esk entrance in Twilight; he bops to Beyonce.

Sounds like a great show for a good cause, but I will be watching for every single glipse of Rob Pattinson. (I'd love to see him dance around to Single Ladies, Becca. That makes me smile, too. LOL)

Looking at the array of stars and performers lined up for this event, which I hope will reach the goals they set for relief efforts, Rob will only be a small part of the goings-on. I won't be too disappointed - knowing what it's really all about.

Mind you, if he actually is sharing the stage with the Edge, Bono and others I'd have liked to be the...lol
