So, Kstew & this guy (no clue) are there to promote this other movie, & they keep asking about DB & how Rob kisses. I feel bad for them, especially him (whoever he is LOL) this is his movie, & Rob gets more time than him in the interview.

annaz said...

Thats a clever way to promote a movie-insert Rob, Rob, Rob into every interview. Not to say, a very insensitive thing to do to the leading man of the movie.
How come Remember Me came into discussion of TYH.

jmm4832 said...

Yeah, it is incredibly insensitive. Why do the news media do this?

Robine said...

In the 2nd video, very end of it, what did she say about Rob? "he's very..."?

solas said...

ooh I saw this guy In tess of the Durberviles. One of the most cryingest books and movies ever. :-(
But i feel badly for himself sitting there whilst Kristen is asked about Rob and BD. sheesh

Anonymous said...

This young man sitting next to Kris is a gentleman... Never said a thing about that journalist incapable not to speak about Rob, who is nowhere in this movie...
As usual Kristen is perfect, beautiful and sweet, never letting anything out that's not supposed to be heard... Great professionnal and fantastic actress...

Brooke Moss said...

You know what....Rob could kiss like a vacume cleaner, and make love like a jackrabbit, and I wouldn't care less....LOOK AT HIM. Cripes, I would prop him in the corner and hang hats on him. He's perfect!

dina said...

He is cool. I would have been pissed. She didn't let go she kept on asking questions. Sheesh.
Hi Solas tree comments above me.

Gwen Cooper 426 said...

The part that got me was that the movie they are (supposed to be) promoting, TYH, was filmed three years ago?! Weird. And then it devolved into Rob/RM time. Kudos to KS, she just goes with it.

Personally, would be a bit miffed if my work was always overshadowed by Rob, aka His Royal Hotness---maybe she's personally compensated? Yes, that would be worth the occasional professional slight... ; )

Kelly Louise said...

It is a bit rude to ask so much about Twilight/Rob whilst promoting a completely different movie, but what else is new? Even people who have no relevance to the Twilight movies whatsoever are asked about it. I suppose it is a rather easy way of promoting. Did like the interview though, I want to see all of Kristen's upcoming films. She's always been good in picking good movies, glad the good roles are kicking in now too.

dina said...

Weird how she didn't pull the bitch face when she was asked about Rob to cut the fat. I like this girl she is one tough cookie. She is going to present an award with Taylor at the oscar's.

Marna said...

I just read my comment again, I meant BD not DB LOL, in case you were wondering what the hell I was talking about :-)

Camilla said...

hm..how the heck can she have already seen the movie?! (cuz' yes, it is a bit like "Oh my God!") *wrinkle between the eyebrows and feeling a bit jealous*
hm..maybe Rob gave her a special screening? ;)

Butterfly25 said...

Altough I don't mind hearing about Rob from some other actors, but this - keep being asked about Rob/Twilight related things while promoting their own movie - is really annoying. It surely must be annoying for those actors, but somehow they just don't show it.

By the way, Kristen is one beautiful girl, isn't she?

@Dina, about Kristen and Taylor presenting at the Oscars, that's really cool. I just hope they do great, especially Kristen as she goes very nervous in front of some big audience and there will be for sure some BIG audience.
And what about Rob going to the Oscars, still no news about it?

alynutzapattinson said...

When I first saw the MTV interview I thought that it was so rude that the poor guy couldn't say nothing about anything. But then I saw that the title of the interview was "MTV Rough Cut: Kristen Stewart". So I think it was more about her and her next projects. And let's face it they have learned their lesson. Answer a few Twilight questions and everything you do it's going to sell out. I really love Kristen. She is such a professional and gave really good answers. I'm really excited to see her and Rob at the BAFTA's this Weekend. It's always nice to see them both all dressed up.

drabrasil said...

gross...
why they do it??? pricks.
asking such questions...who is the best kisser???...
Robert was on this film with them??

Of course there's no comparision..at all

But I would do the same as Kristen did, sayng that this guy kisses better than the ''Vampire'' one...

oh my god.

Tess said...

Almost all the comments have the essence of my thoughts about the way the questioning went in these interviews.

If I were her, I'd just start talking about something completely random from now on like: "I really like the fact that meatloaf is brown" or....

Noe said...

i know i do feel bad for that guy, but he seems to be swallowing it well. he's just a down right cool guy.

but it's those dang reporters that ask twilight questions no matter if the interview is not twilight related.

MatildalovesRob said...

It's not cool how they ask about Rob all the time, although Eddie was super cute about it though. Kristen needs to work on speaking coherently.

Unknown said...

Who is that guy? I've seen him in something. Isn't he in that move with Tomstu?

They made the move 3 years ago. How old was Kristen 15? Isn't there love scenes in it?

Unknown said...

MatildalovesRob: Kristen has admitted herself in a previous interview that I've read, that her thoughts tend to come out in spurts & not coherent sentences. That's why she has so much trouble with interviews.

Sunflower said...

@Robine. I think she says "bold" but I'm not so sure coz English is not my first language.

@Nicole: yes, eddie did "like minds" with tomstu. he's a great actor!

Eddie Redmayne, Stewart's Handkerchief costar who also happens to be one of Pattinson's old pals, admits it's been "surreal" watching his friends become two of the world's, well, most famous stars.

"When we were at Sundance with Yellow Handkerchief, Kristen was like, 'I'm going to go do this film with Rob Pattinson," Redmayne remembered. "I was like, 'I know Rob!' and Kristen said, 'What's he like?'"

big kiss to all

Robine said...

Thanks Sunflower, it makes sense; I had heard something like that.

Who could watch the 1st video? I can't cos it keeps on loading and loading; what was it about?

And did Kristen say she thinks the shooting of BD may start this November?

Well I know what you guys mean with Kristen being asked about Rob's solo movies, but I guess we have to see the whole interview; maybe it was just a couple of questions about him and lots about her own stuff; who knows lol.

Is Eddie Redmayne the guy on those videos?
Ana, so he used to be one of Rob's friend, right? Is he English too?

Robine said...

Oh OK never mind for the 1st video, I've just realised it's for US people. Sorry lol.

Oh Honestly!!!! Of course Kristen is going to say Eddie Radmayne (you know the guy sitting next to her helping her promote the movie he is in with her called The Yellow Handkerchief) is a better kisser. Kristen is a professional. She could be sitting next to Bozo the Clown and promoting a movie with him and she's going to say he's the better kisser! WTH with these idiots?? I mean I absolutely love and worship and adore (in many ways that are probably illegal in some states)Rob. But, I do also realize that Kristen is an ubertalented actress that has a great life and career outside of the man. Just because I happen to also believe they are completely in love and getting groovy every time they can does not mean I cannot focus on other aspects of life. Dude, get a fracking clue, you jackass!

ShariG said...

I like her but I wish she had answered the questions more honestly and more clearly. When asked if she sees Rob as a leading man in the future, kind of a question about where she sees him going over the long haul, she avoided answering and instead said he was strong in Remember Me. I would like to have heard he praise him more. He has nothing but great things to say about her as an actor. He is every bit as good and she is in the best position to know and to let others know. Also don't believe this guy, cute as he may be, is anywhere near as good a kisser as Rob just from the kiss heard round the world in Twilight alone that should be obvious. I like Kristen, don't get me wrong. But I would like to see her more effusive in her praise of Rob when she has opportunity to be.

ShariG said...

I am completely bummed if Kristen is going to present an award at the Oscars with Taylor Lautner. WTH. Lautner is a side kick, nothing more. Not even a good actor. I don't want to see Kristen fawning all over him again to try to dispell the rumors about Rob and her. It's gross. I was so hoping Rob and Kristen would present an award at the Oscars or at least that Rob would be present. This is hugely disappointing to me. Don't like Taylor Lautner. The boy is irritating. Can't stand his voice. He does not deserve to be presenting at the Oscars. Apologies to anyone who is a Lautner fan. I don't get it. So he has a nice chest. Big deal.

ShariG said...

One more thing. If this movie was filmed three years ago, probably the only reason it is being released at all is because of Kristen Stewart's much greater visibility because of the Twilight saga. It makes sense to me that they ask her about Breaking Dawn. It makes no sense to me that they ask about Rob as a kisser. It was a round about way for her to give them information about their relationship. She was too smart for the interviewer, but as a Robsten fan, it makes me sad that they just can't be open and honest about their relationship.

Anonymous said...

eddie seems sweet and cute. I feel bad that mtv and this lady came off so rude. I mean everytime she goes to do press its all about rob and twilight. I wish they would get over the fact that there private and will not discuss there realtionship. The question were also insult to her new film and costar. The poor guy just had to sit there ....

AP said...

Well, the questions certainly reveal more about the interviewer's point of view and interests than they do about Kristen's, Eddie's or Handkerchief itself. Wish it were otherwise...

nikola6 said...

Why do they bring up Rob all the time? Because just the mere mention of his name generates interest. Very simple.

And this actor was sitting down with Kristen Stewart. I'm pretty sure he knew a Twilight related question or two was a distinct possibility. He should be thrilled actually. Because of Twilight and the stardom it's brought to Kristen Stewart, this film that's been sitting on a shelf for three years, now has a distributor.

As for the Oscars...
I can't imagine Rob would leave a London film set and fly 20 hrs. round trip, just to show up and present. He did it last year and you don't want him showing up every year (unless he or the films he's in were to start getting nominated alot). You show up every year to walk the red carpet (when you don't really have to a reason to be there) and it kinda makes you look like a fame whore. Rob did it last year. Kristen and Taylor this year. Fine. I mean, he could show up, but I doubt it.

And not surprised one iota that she's already been to a screening of RM. She seemed impressed with what she saw.

nikola6 said...

Also...

We only saw a snippet of this interview, the Twilight related part. I'm sure they talked about this film that the two of them were there to promote. I mean, if this reporter just went on and on and on about Rob and Twilight, how long do you think K would stand for that before she said something?
She's a pretty direct little thing.

Audrey said...

The answer was stupid, it was evident for respect that kris say the best kisser is his co-star in TYH. And I´m not surprise that she saw a screening about RM, Rob and she with the others actores let see the movie before and if they are together the logic is thatRob show her his last work.

Honestly I think it´s being a kid now not to be honest with the love relation. They think they don´t want to explain their life to the medias but it´s worst. They must to live normaly, I don´t say they must to say to the world "yes we are" but if they are together they can for example walk and live their romance lihe a lot a stars couple. If there is normality the paparazzi let them alone but like they aren´t confirm and not denie the paparazzi want a photo to proove they are together. I´m sure if they proove they are a couple it´s finish the pression and stress for them. They must to live their love because one day kris o Rob can tires of this situation.

xoRobxo said...

@Shari~I totally love Rob..as for Taylor I feel about him what I would for any actor~indifferent. I just don't understand all the hate towards him. Seems like a nice guy with a good head on his shoulders for being 17. A actor who took a role and is trying to represent his character the best he can. I think he is very dedicated and I do think he is a good actor. I know at 17 I was no where near as poised as he is.Poor guy I guess your damned if you do and damned if you don't

nikola6 said...

Audrey,

I disagree, respectfully. If they were to confirm, come out, make it official, I think the frenzy around them would only increase and they would continue to rival (and most likely eclipse) Brad and Angelina as the most famous couple in Hollywood. They cannot be labeled as such now because they haven't gone official and so all the press and the fans can do is, speculate. Until they are finished with the Twilight films, they are BIG NEWS and my advice to them would be...'keep on keeping your traps shut.'

Maybe when they're through with Twilight and IF they're still together, they won't feel the need or the pressure to hide it anymore. I don't think they'll ever issue a public statement saying...'yeah, were doing the horizontal mombo', but maybe they won't be so hesitant to speak about each other in interviews or been seen together publicly.

Word has it they're house hunting and if that's true and they move in together, what more of a confirmation would the public need? These two are not going to pose for the cover of People magazine with the declaration...

"Yup. Were in love."

That's never gonna happen. They're not gonna whore out their relationship to further their celebrity or their careers.

And God bless 'em for that.

The truth is, we don't NEED to know. We just WANT to know. Big difference.

lallieb said...

@Nik, very well said and ITA.
I admire your patience on this subject, and continuing efforts to enlighten people.

Loisada said...

Don't forget this is only an excerpt of the interview, the section where Rob was mentioned so of interest to this blog.

The journalist's only real stumble is the kissing question... but it's standard fare when talking about romances and Kristen brushed through it easily and well.

When journalists are professional and keep things in context, she answers like a true pro. It's only when they want to steer away from her professional work that she very curtly lets them know they're out of bounds by refusing to follow them there. Smart girl.

As Nik said, there is absolutely no reason for any artist to talk about their personal life with journalists, as it only invites more scrutiny and trouble. Most artists intent on keeping their integrity and soul resist becoming celebrities. And who honestly would blame them?

jmm4832 said...

Nikola, I can't see these two ever coming out so to speak, if they are even together. Rob seems to have dug in his heels and won't discuss his private life, thus the dog comments, lol.

LTavares2011 said...

Rob is a good kisser?
Of course. No need to make questions about that.(LOL)
About Rob/Kristen`s relationship, everybody have their own opinions, including me. What`s gonna happen with Rob and Kristen in the future? Who knows?
They can marry, have children, living an ever ending love story, appearing in all the covers of magazines. Why not? But one thing is certain: people change their minds all the time, so only time will tell.
I love Brad and Angelina too. They have style.
I`m not KStew`s fan. I`m Rob`s huge fan and I want him to be happy, very happy indeed, only this, nothing more than this.

Love you Rob!!!

ShariG said...

I don't hate Taylor Lautner and agree that he is a pretty good smoozer on interview always praising the fans in almost a sincere way. So, yes, he handles himself pretty well for 17 just turned 18. I don't think he is a very good actor. I don't like his voice, don't find him attractive in the least, and would not go see a movie based on his name on the billboard alone. I suppose primarily I don't like that they are pairing him with Kristen Stewart at the Oscars. They didn't invite Kristen last year when Rob presented with Amanda Seyfried. Why pair Kristen and Taylor this year?

I'm sure that is a reaction to New Moon, which I felt went way overboard on the Jacob/Bella storyline at the expense of the Edward/Bella storyline, where EB scenes from the book were truncated and completely omitted in the movie. Then in an attempt to hide the relationship between Rob and Kristen and I can only guess try to create some chemistry between Taylor and Kristen, which to me was completely lacking in the movie, she was practically clinging to Taylor at the premier and practically ignoring Rob. I don't like that kind of dishonesty. I don't care if Summit is orchestrating it. If Rob is your guy, man up.

I guess this is actually way off topic for this particular comment section. I'm sorry. Just very disappointed about the Oscars. Glad we can see the British awards on television here in the States, but I was hoping to see him at the Oscars, too. Selfish of me, I know.

MMc said...

I am hoping that Gozde, Kate or Kat will post Rob's appearance at the BAFTA's this weekend since I don't get that on my tv and wouldn't it be COOL if he presented the award to Kristen???? wow, that would be awesome.

I'm wondering why she is even included in this award show since she isn't English and the rest of them are.

jmm4832 said...

I'm disappointed that Rob won't be at the Oscars too. From what I've read he has to return right away after RM promotion to film Bel Ami.

ShariG said...

Nicola, I hesitate to disagree with you, because first you have a lot of support of this board and I don't want to upset anyone and second because I really agree with most everything you say most all of the time.

But, to me it is not whoring your relationship to admit to it. They don't need the relationship to be successful. They are both mega talented, good looking, young actors on a fast track to success. I think the media attention has been brutal and completely intrusive. Whether or not they admit to a relationship it is going to be brutal and intrusive until the Twilight saga is over. Stubbornly refusing to discuss it or acknowledge it has heightened the media attention not lessened it as photographers hide out trying to catch glimpses of them together. While I can understand wanting to keep something of yourself private,I hope they allow themselves the opportunity to be together this weekend and that they do not ignore each other at the BAFTA awards as some kind of ruse. If you are really all that independent, be yourselves and let people think what they want, but don't be dishonest about it.

ShariG said...

Here is an interesting quote from Eddie regarding Rob and Kristen from MTV. " Eddie Redmayne, says that both she and his old pal, Robert Pattinson, have handled their fame with class. He says that as they grow more famous, he hopes their work will continue to become more interesting.

"She's wonderfully intelligent and a bright spunky girl and was when we made this a couple of years ago and remains it now," he said. "And after all the craziness that I've watched Rob, who's an old mate and I knew Rob before I met Kristen actually, and they both retained such a great head on their shoulders despite the extraordinary chaos and wonder that is 'Twilight.' So I think they'll remain doing interesting work, and I can't wait to see what it is they'll do next."

He seems like a really nice guy. I hope this movie comes around to my part of the world so that I can go see it.

I agree with this phrase ( so true ) and I agree with some of your arguments. Hollywood can be Hollywood, business is business, but actors and actresses are human beings too. They need support and affection. Rob is so true, honest. I don`t understand why this situation to be so complicated? It seems like a soup opera, sometimes. They are, aren`t they? ... That is why I prefer not talking about it and avoid to give opinions.
Taylor and Kristen as Oscar presenters!!!. No comments.

jen said...

Eddie Redmayne does a lot of theater, Kristen(and many people assume Robert) saw his play he was in in London when she was over there. Apparently Eddie knows Robert through Tomstu but have a similar group of friends.

I thought Kristen praised Robert appropriately. It sounds fake to say "he's the best leading man to come along ever"-that's empty praise. Instead she gave something tangible-that he comes off bold in Remember Me, ad that will surprise many people. That's a bigger compliment than empty praise.

jen said...

About manning up and saying he's your guy. Easier said than done.

What they are doing is no different than many other couples. Carey Mulligan and Shia La Beouf haven't confirmed officially, yet they are seen out in public a lot. Robert and Kristen do the same thing.

Trying to distinguish between their professional and private lives is a smart thing to do--they are two different things.

jmm4832 said...

I don't know, either they're just friends and there's nothing to report or there is something going on but they don't want to talk about it. Either way, the public won't know so what's the use in speculating? Just a thought.

LTavares2011 said...

@Jen

"Easier said than done."
I respect your opinion. As I said before: "everybody have their own opinions". I have mine. Love is the most important thing for me. My crime: I`m a romantic person. What can I do? Maybe someday I`m gonna change my mind. By the way, I love Tom Stu, Carey and Shia. Eddie Redmayne is a good actor.
Oh, I love you too, Jen.

LTavares2011 said...

@jmm4832

I agree with you.

jen said...

I respect your opinion too. I just think they are in such a unique position, that's all. What seems like the best way to prioritize love is subverted for public figures. From watching how celebrities conduct relationships, the ones who try to keep their shizz private and aware from the glare of the spotlight tend to fare much better.

I also think they are very young, and who knows what sort of setup they have at this point.

jen said...

one more thought: from most accounts up from Vancouver, these two were pretty open in public, affectionate, etc. The shots from them in UK over the new year showed them holding hands it seemed too. So how they act and what they talk about in a promotional context sound like two different things.

Audrey said...

Exactly Jen...

It´s not necessary that Rob y Kris confirm the romance but in my modest opinion I think they would live this love more easy without think in the medias. They must to live for them only for them and enjoy the moment.
Example: Carey Mulligan and Shia La Beouf...Leonardo DiCaprio y Bar Rafaeli, and the majority of the couple of Hollywood...the only exception is Brangelina but it´s different because it´s a triangle with Jennifer Anniston before.

I´m in Spain and before the media always behind penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem because never confirmed nothing of their relation and now since fews days ago, the first apparition of the couple in the Goya together it´s finish the amazing persecution of the paparazzi.

Sorry for my english but only can speak french o spanish

ShariG said...

The couples you mention don't deny their relationship. They just go about their business and let people think what they will. I respect that. If asked, Leonardo acknowledges that he is with Bar. If asked Shia admits he is with Carey and vice versa. There is no reason to deny there is a relationship there. I love to Rob and Kristen together. They have great chemistry off screen as well as on that I don't see between them and anyone else including Emilie and Eddie. But I do hear what you all are saying. I respect their right to not discuss it. I guess I am just hoping they are happily seen together at the BAFTAs and not downplaying that they care about each other. Because there is no doubt that they do. So be honest.

Audrey said...

ShariG..I´m totally with you.

I hope in the BAFTA won´t do that they ignore them, it will be decepointed.

jmm4832 said...

I get what you guys are saying. I think R&K should act normal and not awkward around each other at the Baftas cause everyone knows they are at the very least friends. I miss the interviews they used to do during Twilight when they would joke around and stuff.

ShariG said...

Me, too, JMM4832. I really want to see them enjoying the chance to be together. Almost afraid to watch. It would be great, as someone earlier posted, if Rob is the one giving out the award that Kristen is nominated for and if she wins it. That would make my night. A hug would be expected at the very least.

lallieb said...

@Kemberly, a bit nervous when I address you my dear, but just can't agree with your cynicism that they know what they're doing and do it on purpose, to increase interest, popularity, Ted C's commenters, whatever. Ain't buying it.
My cynical take: They don't know what the fuck they're doing or why and just feeling their way and don't want the world to dissect their every move. Things could change at any time. No big "love" story here, sorry Robsten/shipper romantics, but it's NOT. It's two young people who have a relationship, enjoy each other's company, and yes with benefits (more than likely) who are trying to figure it out and all the other shit they are dealing with. It's complicated. So why the hell do they owe "us" anything, like an announcement that they're together, when they don't even know what it is between them or where it's going. Let them be and respect how they handle it. Whether BFFs, lovers, they are bonded and glad they have the support of one another for as long as it lasts. IMHO.

lallieb said...

On another note, was surprised that Kristen was OK (no bitch face at all) when Rob came up. She seemed quite comfortable answering those questions. The snippet we saw must have been part of bigger interview. Eddie knows Tom and Rob: big happy connected friends, so he has no problem with it.

Cheeky Chops said...

Actually ur prolly more right than I am..and I'm not saying that they owe us anything..I really think it's more fun this way to watch from afar and see everyone's different points of view..and it's easier to tease and make jokes about it..u know I'm always up for that. ;)

lallieb said...

Yup, I sure do. Thanks. ;))

ShariG said...

Lallieb, I am really not saying that they owe us any big reveal either. I am just saying be free to enjoy each other's company without making any statement if you want to, but don't shy away from each other because you don't want people to surmise you are together. It defeats the whole purpose of protecting what you have if you lose it. I don't want them to lose each other in the attempt to throw other people off of their trail.

I am hoping they take advantage of the time they are actually on the same continent to be together this weekend. I hope they have time to be in love, if they are, and I think they are, or at least were during the filming of Eclipse. I hope time and distance and all of the craziness doesn't kill that. Be in like, if that is all it is, but don't put on an act when you are out in public.

Every time they are together sparks seem to fly. It is palpable. I love that about them and really hope it lasts but like others have said, they are young and in a crazy profession where it is okay to very publicly demonstrate love for other people as a part of the job. I couldn't deal with that. I think Kristen can. Not so sure about Rob. I just wish them the best and hope neither gets their heart broken over the other. To me, Rob seems the more vulnerable of the two.

Shari, I don't know if I agree with Rob being vulnerable. He's the desired sex symbol who has the world at his feet. I would think any woman who dates Rob would feel pretty insecure or vulnerable about that.

jmm4832,I am probably wrong. Don't know him at all and sure wish I did. I just mean from a personality perspective. He seems more sensitive that Kristen. He also seems a bit more needy and less confident in personal relationships. From what I have read that others who know him have said about him and from his interviews he just seems more like a person who would fall hard for someone and get hurt in the process. Not disagreeing though that he is a desired sex symbol. I just don't think he sees himself like that. I hope I'm wrong.

@ShariG, I understand what you're saying about them. I agree that it would be nice for them to act themselves and be comfortable with each other in public as they are in private, rather than feign disinterest and put space between themselves, for fear of inviting scrutiny and of revealing anything. Since I was shocked that Kristen didn't shut down the Rob questions in this interview, and boy could she have, may be a sign that things are loosening up a bit.

Sometimes, being silent about a relationship, even whn asked politely, is a way of taking a stand that one's relationship, whatever it may be, is not the business of others; that one's personal life outside of what is presented in one's work, is not the business of others who are paying ot see that work and nothing more.
I would imagine that in the movie industry, it is easy for actors to feel as if they are owned; they are paid, usually a lot, for acting, for promoting; the are dictated to somewhat by the movie companies, and they know they owe good performances not only to themselves, but to the fans, especially in the Twilight Saga where the fans are so extreme about the books and characters.
SO it is a fine line for sanity, I think, for actors to actually guard their privacy, their emotions, their private lives, else the private gets enmeshed into the public, and the self gets swept away into the personas one represents on film.

Solas,
Yes, 'the self gets swept away'..
So much invades their lives; this 21st century pimps out everyone and the famous are so vulnerable.
That's one reason I detest so much about Twitter and even Facebook (although they have their uses).

Rob is one of the most vulnerable in the world right now--and Kristen too, with the Robsten universe, where so many fans are emotionally invested in their relationship. (I'm not at all, but that's irrelevant.)

There's something so weird about Celebrity, the phenomenon I mean, from both sides--the celeb's and the fans, or even just the public's--and it doesn't feel healthy to me.

I indulge big time in my fascination with Rob--that's why I'm here--but any kind of real relationship is impossible.

'Celebrity' is a distraction from real life, an escape, and the celeb must, for sanity's sake, maintain a healthy distance from fans, and insist on privacy. This means isolation from regular people.

Rob must put those barriers up, which is a crying shame, because they might box him in and not make good, normal people accessible to him.
I didn't say, make him accessible to us; I said, make us accessible to him, (i.e., those of us who are somewhat good yet ordinary folk).

It's a shame because he needs regular, ordinary people to relate to. He needs them.
Oh yes, he has his old mates--Tom and the group--and that's good.
I've seen all along that Rob is a grounded being and that's good.

But I think, for him, life in the stratosphere would pale soon and he'd be so unhappy there.

What is the trajectory for him? I mean his personal, not professional future.
What is it for any of us?

I just want him to be happy and that's such a stupid, sappy thing to say. And I want him never, never, never, to feel "entitled".
Once he feels entitled, he's gone.
And the fame pimps will try to help him feel that way.

Well, this is another dead thread--I'm a master at closing them out--and it's a far cry from the x-rated one.

Nope, I'm going to shut it down.
@Jessegirl, very thoughtful comment and ditto my wishes for Rob, and fear that he might change ...never, ever please.

@solas, yes certainly, but seems to me it depends a lot on level of fame, the more famous a couple, the less they want their private lives and relationship intruded upon. Others, definitely celebrities, but not way up there, can often be very honest and open, because they are afterall in love and sometimes are glad to let it be known and have no problem alluding to it or talking about it. Just my observation. Rob & Kristen are rather unique and, I believe, it's just more complicated for a bunch of reasons, known and unknown.

Bottom line is none of us can even begin to imagine the intense scrutiny that Rob and Kristen live under. It must almost seem surreal to them. I do worry from time to time about the invasion of Rob's privacy and how he's handling it. Sometimes I wish another "it" guy would come along and take some of the pressure off him. You can tell Rob wants his private life back.

I can imagine and relate to it to some extent, not the same extent, but probably more than anyone else on this blog.
