Well, I hope Rob doesn't do a shoot with naked models if he wants to be taken seriously for his acting but that's my opinion. To do so in a movie is fine but not this stuff. Yuck.
Oh for the love of God. This racy photoshoot is NO different to filming a racy movie scene, it's all in a professional capacity. It's not like they had a big orgy at the end of it ! Different movies require different promotional tactics and I think Rob being connected with Kristen ALL the fucking time is a BIG turn off for studio bosses when he's trying to promote a different onscreen relationship.

And by 'legally cheating' I do not mean that it's okay for an actor in a committed relationship to have sex with a co-star, although many of them do which is why the relationships and marriages so often fail in that business. 'Cause let's face it, you've got some of the most beautiful, desireable people in the world working together in extremely intimate situations. Things happen.
As attracted as we are to him, if we were actresses (even married ones) and we were required to get completely naked and step into a hot, steamy shower (or have to climb between the sheets) with an equally naked Robert Pattinson for eight hours of filming a highly erotic sex scene (and yeah, a two minute scene on film can take all day, sometimes more than a day to film) and he was 'willing' after the day's shoot, how many of us would be able to resist a trip to the dressing room? This happens all the time on film sets. ALL THE TIME! And has been since the inception of the movie business. They're only human too.
But even if an actor resists, they still have to put their hands and their mouths and sometimes their naked bodies up against someone who isn't their lover and this is where the 'legal cheating' comes into play.
And if an actor is going to be involved with another actor, then they've just got to accept it. If they can't, they they shouldn't get involved with other actors. But then they've got to find a partner who's willing to let them go off and 'legally cheat' on them.
Alot of women make that trade so that they can be 'Mrs. Big Movie' star with all that, that entails; the money, the fame, the glamour and the running with the upper eschelon of show business society AND having the status of wife and mother of his children to said...'Mr. Big Movie Star.'
It's a rough business on relationships and families.

I have to laugh when people get so caught up with R&K and think that they're E&B and they're gonna be together for the rest of their lives with a couple of 'sex haired' babies thrown into the mix.

Having a quick read around on twitter etc, I think this is exactly WHY Rob NEEDS to do these kinds of photoshoots. If people are going to freak out because he's being portrayed as a hot young actor on the HW scene, when he IS a hot, young actor on the HW scene then you have to wonder why!
The bottom line is that it's because some people are so caught up in the relationship 'Rob' and not the career 'Rob' that they only see Rob as part of Rob&Kris. But for the sakes of both their careers this really needs to be addressed imo. Rob needs to appeal to all demographics and whether they like it or not, Robsten fans are not the only demographic category of fans that he has.
I think people should just admit to themselves if they only support the romantic notion that is Rob as part of Rob&Kristen and should those people have issues with any career moves that Rob makes (or that Kristen makes) in the future, based on whether it will affect their 'romantic' notion of them together, I doubt Rob or Kristen will lose any sleep over it.
Um...drily..from my experience in 'another life' on sets, there is often as much going on between actors and crew as between co-stars. And sometimes actors who have to share skin are not so 'into' it which is always interesting. lol Just a caveat.

re cheating--'legally' and other wise:
There are and have been, throughout time, special souls who value commitment, value a relationship, and value not wanting to hurt anyone, especially a loved one. They have never been the majority, because even in times not like the present, where the motto is 'I want it, I want it all, and I want it NOW,' there has always been the very human pattern of rationalization. From the earliest of times (Adam blamed Eve, even blamed G-d for giving him Eve, rather than taking responsibility; Eve blamed the serpent, etc) humans find ways to make excuses for doing what they want even when they know it is wrong.
Religious institutions and authorities set up rules, warnings, and punishments to curtail some behaviours, especially those deemed destructive to society (married couples unfaithful wrecks family life, makes for children of questionable parentage and therefore possibly incest down the road), and later secular societies still included limitations and certainly punshments for some behaviour.
We now live in times, and most of us in countries, where religious barriers and even legal barriers to adultery (or cheating in a relationship that isn't marriage) are gone, but the pain of being betrayed, of having people and relationships damaged or destroyed, is not.
An actor who values his relationship, who does not want to hurt a loved one, will make it his business to not cheat. He may kiss, touch flesh, etc, for a role, and if he finds that too difficult, will not choose parts that put him in the position to jeopardize a relationship, to cause pain. A real man, a really good person, will make the effort to make sure he does not cheat or hurt; a lesser man will rationalize, or dismiss either relationship.
I don't know Rob personally; I don't know for sure if he is in a relationship or what it is, or what his feelings are. I can only extrapolate from what I see from his words, from his expressions, from actual interviews and not rag garbage, that he is a person of depth and thought, and more than that, (since a lot of intelligent people can be real SOBs)that he is mature beyond his years in most matters, that he values friendship and kindness and patience, and that he is not one of the pack of wolves who will devour whatever meat is placed before him.

If a racy shoot upsets Twihards and Robsteners enough to make them stop seeing Rob only as Edward, then it will be a good thing.
As for what it means for Rob as a person (which isn’t our business anyway!), a photo shoot is work and the people in Rob’s life know that. No worries on that score.
But the content does raise questions in my mind in terms of his career. This kind of promo helps cement Rob’s image for the wider public and industry pros who still don't take him seriously as an actor. A racy Details spread is bound to promote the overworked Casanova persona he needs to steer away from if he wants to take on a wider array of challenging roles. Posing with Emilie in Vogue to promote RM is his “job." Romping with naked ladies is persona/career promotion and that’s a whole different ball of wax.
At this point I'm interested to see how the accompanying article will present him. That could make all the difference between one more spread where Rob is portrayed as another lusty itguy, or a clever and insightful look at a budding actor who's suddenly found himself the object of so much female lust. I'm hoping for the later..... hard.
Rob needs to be dictating the type of public image he wants to project at this point, and solid pro-active management could/should help support and guide him in that. If they think this is the type of shoot to help get him where he wants to be... I’ll politely disagree but enjoy ogling the photos anyway!!

Loisada, I think alike! I'm concerned with how Hollywood would perceive this photoshoot. I want Rob to be recognized for his great acting and not just for being a heartthrob.

Um... not sure how this topic moved onto the subject of shagging co-stars, lol, but I think that people need to separate work and pleasure.
Photoshoots & filming movies are work, all done in a professional capacity. Jesus, just because Rob is being marketed as a hot young actor it doesn't and shouldn't detract anything from him personally. Obviously, people will get their panties in a twist but I think it may result in people sitting down and wondering why they're a Rob fan ie. do they just like the 'pretty', do they just like the idea that he's with 'Kristen', do they like him as an actor or a mix of the above? If you fall into the romantic Rob who fell for his co-star then you'll probably be pissed off at decisions they both make hereon in. Both Rob & Kris are trying to branch out from Twilight, Kristen playing a lap-dancer who has a mouth like paint-stripper and Rob with the likes of Bel Ami. I guess the future will test some peoples views on both of them.
I think people believing the likes of Delaney who say that he was unhappy with the shoot makes it all sound like some kind of sordid affair. Delaney was just trying to appease the shippers but made things worse imo by making it sound like it was 'wrong' or something he should be 'ashamed' of. I see what she was trying to do, but she did it badly imo.
@Meeph: I certainly wasn't saying it is 'okay' as an actor to blur relationship boundaries. I didn't understand the conversation to be about that so much, but about how this line of work can certainly put those issues front and centre. To say it never happens, whether we approve or not, is naive - in fact it happens as much in the office, or the factory, as it does in the movie biz. Just not splashed across the pages of magazines.
As far as Rob is concerned, he isn't married, and hasn't, as yet, said he is in a serious relationship, so I can't see how the term 'cheating' applies to him.
My take is that his sex life, for good or ill, or other aspects of his private life, is really none of my business. As for the photoshoot, as others have said he is an adult, and likes to make his own decisions.
Just to set the record straight...
I wasn't saying anything about Rob's personal conduct and that's because, I do not know what his personal conduct is.
From the hundreds and hundreds of interviews I've read about him, yes, I've formed an opinion about him; that he is a kind and caring person and I think (just my opinion) that with his innate shyness, he isn't a skirt chaser by nature. That he prefers the committed relationship where he feels 'safe' as oppose to going out night after night and seeking mere physical comfort (nothing emotional) from a stranger. That is just my opinion only and for all I know, it could be 100 thousand miles from the truth.
Something else I believe is that many people PROJECT onto their objects of desire, those traits that they NEED for this person to have. They project onto them their hopes and dreams and fantasies. And if that object of desire ever disappoints them by doing something that flies in the face of whatever it is that they have projected upon that person, then their ardor for them will begin to fade.
I strongly suspect that as the years unfold, there will be many who will drop off because Rob might do or say something that goes against the image of him that they've created in their minds.
I think he's a pretty decent guy and I see him living a pretty decent life. However...he will fuck up every now and then along the way. We all do. It's just that in his case (with this worldwide fame that's been suddenly thrust upon him) he's going to be faced with the kind of temptation and opportunity that can lead to all kinds of fuckery. I'm not saying it will. I'm saying it can.
He's not a saint. He's a human being. A lovely but imperfect human being.
One last thing...
None of us knows how his life is going to unfold. He could get married next year, have a couple of kids and stay in that committed relationship for the rest of his life, with not a 'cheat' to show anywhere. Or...
He could end up with dozens of relationships, three marriages, six kids by four different woman and not find his true mate until he hits his fifties. We don't know.
My personal wish for him would be, that one happy and stable marriage and a couple of beautiful babies.
But either way, I am enamored of his talent and unless that goes belly up, I'll be in the theatres watching this career unfold.
His personal life is his. That is unless he hooks up with that skank, Paris Hilton. He does that and I'll hunt him down myself, throw him up against a wall, scream at him...'have you lost your fuckin' mind? and then proceed to slap seven kinds of shit out of him. And that's really gonna hurt because as far as I know, there are only six kinds of shit.
(god, I love that expression. I'd use it more often but it's not exactly easy to work it into a conversation)

I only hope he really LIVES his life, stops hiding, goes out, having fun, having sex, whatever.
I see him as a human being, he has faults like everybody else and maybe he is just plain boring, who knows? I take him as he is, whatever decision he is making.

And I don´t think anybody has any idea about what is really going on in the movie business. Most of it is just facade, because movie stars HAVE to behave in a certain way. It´s in their contracts!!!

God this is exactly what I have always thought...I just can never stay focused in the moment long enough to finish my thought! been home sick now since last wednesday night into thurday and I've losing trck of one day into the next. but yeah, I concur with you girlfriend! I do so love him like this in this way...sometimes I make comments about his personal life I know I have no right to...b/c I just dont' know for sure...and its his life. For the most part I do so love his acting have seen all his movies now except little ashes and have loved everything he's done in each and been pleasantly surprised that he can act as opposed to getting the role on strictly his beauty. Although his personality is adorable and he's so well read, well spoken that he could get jobs just on that feat alone even if he weren't the most gorgeous, sweet, baby love on the planet! There are other reasons I would stop watching an actor, even if it were Rob. I don't see it happening, but as we don't know what will be with his marital and family life, we don't know if he will suddenly become a self-destructive jerk. It doesn't seem feasible in what we see of himself, but people can, unfortunately and sadly, decay--- or snap, G-d forbid.
Only Paris Hilton? I would hope someone here would slap the shyte out of him if he ended up with (or even played with) Megan Fox. Major yuchhh.
