The video is not really spoilerish, it's safe enough to watch!

i have to say that seeing the ending the very first time totally got to me, as in i couldnt even think for a second how it happened that way, but at the same time i was fully convinced at the way it happened. the second time i watched the film, i intentionally waited for the audience's reaction to the ending, and it was overwhelming hearing all the gasps and "oh my gods" inside the theatre. i have to say that this ending is one of the most memorable, unforgettable endings i've ever seen. totally turns your world upside down.

It is a powerful ending and shocking as well if you haven't seen the movie.. I don't find the controversy!!! Don't find why it would be offensive!!
Robert is totally right on.
Remember Me is a great movie and I believe when more people see it I can guarantee they will like it as well. If you haven't seen it please GO WHEN YOU CAN!!!

I'll go as soon as it comes out in France, which is not before April 7, unfortunately :o)

not a typical ending :D I loved it.

I also heard gasps and several "Oh no!" reactions when I went to see it the 2nd time. Very powerful and overwhelming in my opinion, too.

Loved it and will be seeing it again...

Hi annie!

Not the typical ending. Not the typical movie. So glad Rob decided to do it. He was right on when he said it didn't fit any pattern or any regular genre.

Love him. Love his movie choices so far...

I thought the ending was very important and tastefully done. I am so glad Rob became involved so this film could get made. We all should remember.

I will be seeing it again at least once this week and cannot wait. If I can get babysitters, I will see it more. It is a part of me right now that I can't let go of.

I love the way Rob firmly stands his ground and says how he truly believes that this ending is the right choice. I guess he knew perfectly when he read the script that not everyone would accept such an ending and that some would really hate it. I love the way he seems to be making choices which matter to him and not to the reviewers or the box-office.

I also thought the ending was tastefully done. They are showing Iraq war movies while we still have boys fighting and they call this controversial?

@skorpia - With 2212 screens is classified as a nationwide release. My local theater also is not carrying it. I was hopeful that it would pick it up, but as good as I think the numbers are, they are likely not enough for it to expand to more theaters.

Has someone heard of it.

The reports from the cinema visitors, about the story and the end of RM, bring now greater interest . Many people are curious. There will be more and more people who go now and watch RM

like Rob said-if it was edited the movie wouldn't have the same impact

wonderful, powerful movie--loved it

*just me*
i think, not only the end of RM but the whole movie is not typical, sad and overwhelming. i didn't watch anything like this for awhile. RM isn't typical because it's actually more theater performance than movie. you're listening to the actors, looking at their eyes, absorb their mood, their personal tragedies, nothing else. the cast is perfect, but Robert can pull the whole movie off. there are some rare actors who can play that musician in "The Double-Bass" of Patrick Suskind, if you know it. Robert is one of them.
but right now the point unfortunately is the lack of male recognition. i'd like to see him in some Tarantino's project. it would be blast. seriously, what is Tarantino waiting for;)? just saying..and off for RL.

This is a GREAT movie, and I for one will be spreading the word. Thanks for going with your gut on this one. What would have been a less controversial ending, a car crash perhaps....

I believe it was Rob who said, "watch with an open mind".

The cast portrayed their characters perfectly. If you felt what they were feeling, it was a success. If you saw this movie and you still can't get it out of your mind, it was a success. If it brought you to tears or if the unexpected ending made you evaluate and appreciate the relationships in your life, it was a success.

I have no words to describe this movie(in a good way)!!! I just started to cry in the last few minutes! I looked at my phone a few times to see what time it was because I wanted the ending! Haha i wanted to know what it was so bad because everyone said it was so sad.. Well now I know why! Some people said the first half was a bit "dry". I can kinda see it but I thought the movie was excellent! I wanna cry whenever I see the poster! Haha!

Here's an excellent article on the controversial ending:

http://insidemovies.moviefone.

-ending-controversy/

Most viewers seem to like it, while many industry pros and movie critics hate it.

It's sad to see the last five minutes overshadow the rest of the film, which for me is reason enough for wishing it had ended in a different and more personal way. That said, it's still a lovely film and Rob made great strides in it.

Robine said...

I'm sorry to rant but damn it please, don't tell the end although now I think I know! I'm not telling anything now don't worry but damn I was catching up (yeah I'm still way behind); was reading "Remember Me,Rob Pattinson and Movie Reviews : can you keep a secret" posted on March 11th (told you I'm way behind) and at the very last post, this girl said it all in 5 words; only 5 words and it was obvious she wanted to tell it !!!!!!!! f*ck!!!!
Don't go there reading or just like me you'll know the end! damn it! Sorry for the ranting.

I am 100% certain that there are many people out there that experienced that "ending" first-hand and will not be able to handle this movie's ending. I am one of those people. I lost it completely in my car afterward and truly have not been able to shake the images since. Had I known, I would have not seen this film, but I realize that this is a very personal choice.

I had avoided most previews and all spoilers for this film. I worked in network TV on 9/11 and it was more devastating to me than my divorce and clinical depression combined. To say the least I was unpleasantly surprised and shocked at the ending of Remember Me. I had a full blown panic attack starting as soon as I connected the details and I couldn't even medicated it because I'd been drinking. I LOVE Rob. LOVE him. But had I known about the ending I would have bought a ticket (to support Rob) and not seen the film. The others I was with didn't have the extreme reaction I did, but they were also unpleasantly shocked. I guess that's what you get for going into a film blind. Otherwise 4 stars! I'll just walk out 10 minutes before the end next time.

I think I am going slowly insane, RM is not due for release in the UK until April, Eclipse won't be here until summer and my NM dvd won't be here for another 5 days and I feel constantly sick with anticipation.

Even though I know the ending of RM I still can't wait to see it, this man has taken over my life.... and i'm loving it

Modestypatch: I talked my sister into going with me tomorrow (that'll be my third time).

Robine: I hope it hasn't been spoiled for you here. There are spoiler threads where people can go to let loose, but I guess, because Rob mentions the controversial ending here, some here can't help getting close to giving it away.
I think it'll be really hard, as time goes on, to keep this cat in the bag. Too bad the premieres in other countries are weeks away.

Finally got to see RM today. I had not seen any of the spoilers and I cried like a baby at the end. I know for some people the end had to be hard but I do think it was tastefully done and it sent a message as the title says "Remember Me"

What gets me is that we've all had personal tragedies in our lives and to me this is no different so why oh why are some people getting so upset with the ending............I started crying at the beginning and I knew nothing about the movie.........Rob and the rest of the cast did an amazing job......I'll definitely be seeing the movie again.
