I love his facial expression! (LOL). Probably are not pictures of fans but Rob is beautiful even doing an apparent upset face. He is so cute: wet hair, unshaven, his eyes , and his lips? Adorable!!!! He is so gorgeous, it hurts, how it hurts.

I love Rob, he is so gentleman, all the time. Lovely!!!

gracefulgrace said...

Has anyone else noticed the makeup. They look like they have accentuated the lines on his face. Between his eyebrows, under his eyes and around his mouth. Maybe to age him or to make him look tired. He looks beautiful even with the makeup.

RTP_KJS_Lover said...

@Fifty - We just think alike, that's all...ITA (see, we think alike again), on the NB mansion...

Petra Eller said...

I have made new business cards with a new address. I am constantly in the dirty corner. My mail can also send me there. Just a pity that my children can not visit me here.

Fiftyshadesofpink said...

@ CL
Would you like a chocolate Hobnob?
(settles down into lawn chair with large red wine in the NB mansion)

TheMissMod said...

Is it just me or does his hair look a little grey in places? It could just be his reeeally light natural colour though...or put there for the role. I hope he's not going prematurely grey from stress, I know a guy that started going grey in High School! I'm sure I wouldn't care anyway, it's Rob, he can pull anything off, it'd be distinguished.

Fiftyshadesofpink said...

@ Heart-Rob

LOL at your new business cards. Will you call yourself a professional NB?

Fiftyshadesofpink said...

@twmmy Yeah, I was thinking the same thing over & over again - WHERE r ALL his hardcore fans when his movies/boxoffice numbers/his future need them??? The very same fans who don't let him shoot his films without stalking Him & screaming at Him & just making Him mad on locations???
Does it mean that his fans ONLY want Robert Pattinson the sex symbol, the gorgeous man but NOT Robert Pattinson the talented actor & his films???
What do u think about this, gals?

I Crave Your Mouth, Your Voice, Your Hair

Pablo Neruda ( Chilean poet )

Don't go far off, not even for a day
Don't go far off, not even for a day, because --
because -- I don't know how to say it: a day is long
and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station
when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.

Don't leave me, even for an hour, because
then the little drops of anguish will all run together,
the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift
into me, choking my lost heart.

Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;
may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance.
Don't leave me for a second, my dearest,

because in that moment you'll have gone so far
I'll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,
Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

Oh Rob, I can not stop thinking of your mouth, I can not stop thinking of you, I can not stop desiring of you.
I love you Rob. It is all about you and all for you. Always you.

Hi Ladies just popping in I'm heading off to bed, just back from seeing RM and I'm so disappointed coz nobody cried and I have a headache from trying not to cry :-(

There are girls and girls. My students have between 14 and 16 years old, they watched Remember Me and cried a lot. They found the film very sad but they loved it, they loved Tyler and they are crazy to see Rob in Bel Ami. They do not talk about Edward anymore(LOL).

I want to address posts about people feeling that fans are not supporting Rob's movie RM. RM was a movie with a budget of only 16 million and has already made over 38 million worldwide. That's very respectable for a drama with a sad and controversial ending.

It's not true that people want Edward, rather than Rob. I think most Twilight fans love Rob and Rob played some role in making the Twilight movies successful. But most people go to see a movie because the movie interests them, regardless of the actors in the movie. And dramas with these type of endings are just not big box office nowadays. Most people want to go see actions films, romantic comedies, etc. Personally I will see all of Rob's movies, but there are other actors that I really like but I will only see their movies if the movie interests me. And that is the way it is for most people. So I think many people do like Rob, but this genre of movie does not attract people the way other genres do.

For its budget and type of movie, I think the movie did well. The Huffington Post said that this movie proved how popular Rob really is because they said that if any other young actor was playing in this genre of movie, the movie would never have done nearly as well as RM did with Rob. And I agree with them.

Kate, when I went to the Paris AP for RM, very few people cried and I was a bit disappointed too.. but on the other hand, people were really sucked into the plot and paying attention, it was very very silent, you could feel that everyone was so concentrated on the film, and that's good, and lots of people left saying the film was beautiful.

LTavares2011 said...

@SusiGlam

I agree with you. Robert Pattinson is victorious. He brought millions of people to see a movie with a dramatic plot, a film for thinking and yet so the film has had a successful box office in US and all over the world. The mainly is that Rob proved he is valuable as the talented actor that he really is. His opinions will be more respected by the executives of the studios because in my opinion Summit did not the "best" campaign they could do for the film, in Brazil, the distributor did very little. I dare to say I think it was a test. They wanted to know what this guy could do with so little and Rob proved.

drabrasil said...

hey

i am watching NM again..

OH MY

I just cannot wait for eclipse...

just saying.. when they will release another teaser?

Spunky's said...

in response to the lack of support for RM I believe the critics worked to slam this movie because of their hatred from Twilight. I really believe critics are mad at Twilight's success. Twilights success was in spite of critics. imagine how they all felt when this film despite their poor reviews 'killed' at the box office. This shows that ppl will see a movie and love a movie despite critics. This devalues a critic. In addition Rob really carried this movie alone.I love Pierce but he isn't a seat filler. Emile is not a movie star she is an up and coming actress. This movie was also not pushed by summit. I live in the city and there were billboards but not many and few if any commercials.Robs movie did very well compared to other heartthrobs. Zac Efrons first non high school musical movie grossed 1 million. Kirsten's movie did rather poorly. During RM opening in the states every movie was killed by ALice in Wonderland. Critics are not personally invested in Rob Patterson. They have claimed he is a poor actor and they want to prove it. Most critics said he was good or decent. but At the Movies critic said Li know im gonna upset Twilight fans but robert pattinson is a terrible actor' but his o host quickly diagreed with him and said Rob was solidbut RM GAVE THE ACTORS LITTLE TO WORK WITH. I really felt that critic was among the anti twilight crowd intent on seeing the stars and the movie fails. i really feel Bel Ami could be different...Rob is talented WE KNOW THAT .but critics and anti twihards want to prove that twilight is a fluke with poor actors who became famous for their looks (rob). For them Rob HAS TO FAIL, or their credibility has failed.

Anonymous said...

Rob is sooo sexy when he do that!!! God i love this man!!!

Spunky's said...

my last comment was typed by cell phone please excuse the typos. I hope you all get the gist of it all.

Unknown said...

Okej, SusieGlam, I can try to accept your point of view regarding RM & RP-fans - ok, it makes some sense, BUT...
Just imagine that His next big movie-project shown after Eclipse will be Bel Ami which is a R - rated period film... What about boxoffice numbers again? With all the teenage girls out of the cinemas, just us...
Please, don't missunderstand me, I am so-so happy that Rob chooses such quality projects like BA or WFE and I've become addicted to Remember me as well... Just saying - this man deserves more than what he gets of some of His fans (obviously He gets ALL support on the whole world - and even more - on this blog...)
I know, I'm a little bit down - cause i made the horrible misstake to visit Just Jarred's blog and read som really ugly, hateful comments about Him - "can't act, looks stoned all the time, RM bombed"... and so on.
I promised myself never do that misstake again - I mean visit that shit-site...
1 more thing - when I saw RM for the first time I was so shocked that I forgot to even cry. Cause my absolutely best friend - who came to see the film with me - said she hated it and that RP can't act at all. I was so so mad at her - my best friend in life!!! - that I seriously considered to break up with her...
Then I went a second time with an other friend who loved it. And that evening/night I cried like a little child. And then almost the same the 3rd time with a 3rd friend... Am I silly, say?!...
Hugs & night to u all

Anonymous said...

don't mind the critics.some of them just want to see the actors on top fall. Rob is a good actor and very serious with his job and there are a lot of good reviews for RM. seen RM 2x its a beautiful moving movie. everyone and everything is perfect including the yukky apartment of tyler (sorry a bit oc) :) my bff who is not a fan of rob love it and the satisfaction on my face is priceless when she is like "omg" when she saw the date caroline teacher was writing. she cried :)im gonna go the 3rd time this weekend when i go home :)

Gossip Girls says 5/7/10 Rob shooting in London but the pictures are looking like ones from Budapest? Also People has a blurb about the director for Breaking Dawn is Bill Condon. Where is Gossip Cop when we need them?

Monique said...

@SusieGlam & Co... so true on your post about RM BO... I took a friend to see it, she loved Twilight and didn't think much of NM... I asked her to come with me to see RM... (she hee and ah!) I told her I would pay... She loved the movie and enjoy Rob's performance so much... she gave me her share of the movie ticket... Her words... "This movie is worth the price of the ticket."

So I don't know what movie these so called critics saw...I saw it as a fan of the actor. When I start watching the movie, I was so drawn in that I only saw Tyler the character. This movie does not have a happy ending... but, it's was about life and what can happen in life... It did happen.

Now... These shots of Robert...I guess it's not only us that is obessed and love him eh? The Camera does too. LOL.

Spunky - I just read your post about how critics want Rob to fail so they will feel victorious and RIGHT and validated in their "professional" opinions.

But what's your point? So? That's what's happening, yeah, I agree, but what do you think will happen next? How will Rob and his management team respond? How will he personally feel about all this criticism?

You can't please everyone, but he's the one with all the money and fame, not them, so I'd be laughing all the way the bank if I were him, that's just the kind of bitch I am, but he seems pretty sensitive to how people perceive him and what they think - not good when you're in a position like he is being so visible and known worldwide. I personally don't know how he sleeps at night. Rob's looks are definitely a big part of his fame but his personality, sensuality, humor, work ethic, intelligence and kindness ain't bad either.

If Rob can keep his head on straight - he'll be fine and rise above the spew of the critics and haters eventually.

I think that may be something that drives him even.......somewhere I read that he said something that made him calm was................arguing!! And that he liked a woman who hated him............initially!! So he likes the challenge of winning people over, doesn't like the Virginie's of the world that make it too easy.

@spunky, Lexie, and fnd188. Not sure of assessment of critics only because the film critic in my city paper, highly renowned and respected, gave NM a bad review. I never read a single review of Twilight, assumed it was all bad and didn't care. Someone looked up this critic's review of it and he had given it 3 stars! I was shocked. The critical response to RM was devastating, but obviously did not resonate with Rob's true fans and others response to it. I went with a friend who is a Twi fan, and she did not like it, sad ending, but totally agreed that Rob was awesome. Other Twi fan friend and her obsessed Twi sister did NOT even make the effort to see RM in the theater. Rob is not an established actor, he is evolving, and we get to witness his evolution, and support & cheer for him with every film and character he chooses to do. The shallow twi fans, be damned, we are the wheat and they are the chaff. It will be annoying that they will all be out, screaming, front & center at the Eclipse premiere. Taking up space that some of us hearty souls could be be in.

RM was a success. No other young actor could have helped it do as well as it did. There will be haters out there. They drive me crazy, but I am coming to accept it. The fact is, Rob is here to stay. He is the biggest star in the world right now. A day cannot pass without someone doing a story on him or even just using his name in their article/interview/etc just to get attention. Not everyone will feel about him the way we do (stupid people), but I also think that there is no other actor out there that causes people to feel about them the way we do for Rob. Do they have fans? Sure, but Rob somehow causes his fans to fall for him so hard we can't think of anything else. We see the gifts that he has. It will only be a matter of time before others begin to see them too. His magnetism is too strong to resist for too long.

Sorry, but I disagree. Kristen has been in other movies before Twilight that were seen by critics. All they know of Rob is Twilight. It's all part of the game called showbiz. It has nothing to do with him not being American. There are many actors who are not American that the critics love.

The way I look at it, Rob wouldn't be getting all these offers to work with Oscar-winning actors and actresses if someone out there didn't think he had a lot of talent. I'm not going to worry about what some two-bit critics have to say about Rob. Roger Ebert thinks his acting was good in RM and so do a lot of other people.

@Femroc - Rob is trying to grow as an actor/artist. To me he was a perfect Edward Cullen (quiet, dissatisfied with life, inner turmoil and conflict, warm hearted once human battling the cold hearted nature of a monster) I actually think Kirsten is the weakest actor in Twilight series(not trying to be mean I like her) but Rob gets the most criticism because he is the most popular. He was very good in RM (He wasn"t brooding he was a young man in mourning) I"m not sure what image his management team is trying to create. I actually believe Rob does what he wants to, but he is willing to learn from his peers. He seems to be mature and has the ability to self assess and listen to good advice. I think his movie choices are all his.he doesn't choose blockbuster, attention-getting movies.I'm sure his people would love him to do a blockbuster. He is aware of what he would like to accomplish and I think he is going after it, his way. Rob has an advantage that many celebs don't. His priority is not to be famous and maintain it, but to be great at his craft. He is also humble and doesn"t see himself as perfect, so he'll be able to learn and grow. He seems to want to be more than a pretty face and he does appear to have drive. I feel very positive about him and his career (not because I'd like to bed him one day, lol) but because I think he has drive and really wants to earn his fame through good work( he has said as much). When Twilight fans started a campaign against him it made him even more determined to be a success in Twilight. He is shy and sensitive, but he appears to have a close, loving, and supportive family That is always a positive for a young actor.

@lovesRob ... Rob has many looks. There are times he looks 24-28 (Details magazine and US magazine)and there are times he looks 30ish (Vanity Fair Pics, GQ)His random shots in the streets shows him looking like a 20ish actor
I don't think he drinks as much as we think. I just think we Americans are far more sensitive about drugs, cigs, and drinking, than Europeans. We notice it more. A lot of our young celebs seem to go that route so it may just be on our radar.

@Evangeline-My local papers gave Kirsten's movie 3 out of 4 stars but Kirsten was described as "boring" and "bland" Dakota Fanning received rave reviews, but Kirsten was basically described as lackluster.

I still think, if the Twifangirls are so enamored of Rob--not Edward--they would have gone to see RM, because it was advertised as a romance and he looked really hot in the photos and outdoor pap shots.
I mean, look at him, just to look at him. A shallow reason which would turn into scorching, heart-pounding absorption as they were drawn into this remarkable movie.

It still puzzles me, their weird response. But I no longer care, sorry. If they want to be silly girls, fine. They don't know what they are missing. Rest assured Rob would not be very impressed with their attitude. He might be relieved to let some of the chaff drop off. Don't know, of course.

jessegirl said...

Spunky's...
Interesting comment about critics.

First of all, they struck out on Twilight, because Rob made that film; he nailed Edward and no one could take their eyes off him.
He's as handsome as a god, he is that overwhelmingly good-looking.
For that alone, don't kid yourselves, they want to crucify him.

Critics care, as you said, about how they appear, and they don't like it when a million screaming girls--supposedly--prove them wrong.

They insult all women who love Rob, Twilight, and RM. No one has yet said it, but there is some sexism going on here.

"Let's dismiss the women," critics say. "Let's diss the actor they adore, because females of any age cannot be right. WE are right, and don't you--the public--forget it!"

They think all they need do is say that adolescent girls love it to prove it can't possibly be good.
And they cannot admit that women of all ages--some of them not only mature, but educated, intelligent, sensitive and more perceptive and insightful than the critics themselves--they cannot admit these females know better than they do. They can't admit any female past 20 thinks RM is good, because then it has become more than a matter of dismissing adolescents. Then it is a matter of dismissing adults.

What will they trot out if we adult women persevere (sp?) in our adultation? Blame it on PMS, on menopause, on pregnancy hormones or post-partum depression, or senility? They'll find something. You watch. They'll start to trot out one of those excuses to dismiss us.

Above all, by nature and by calling, critics think they know best and if someone bests them, they resent him--or in this case her. After all, they think it's their place to tell us so that we won't bother to evaluate for ourselves. We are supposed to believe them.

They get nervous if we have minds of our own, and more importantly, if we follow our hearts. It's just not done.

If we're talking about RM specifically, those of us, female and male, who love it are allowing the film to work its magic within us just by keeping an open mind and heart. Only then can that great alchemical transformation happen within us. We can be changed, affected, moved, touched, brought to greater awareness. We can be, because we watch in the right way.

A great Jewish philosopher, Martin Buber, talked about reading a book 'in the right way'. You have to be open to it.
It's the same with movies. You have to give them a chance to work on you, and if you do surrender a little bit of your judgmental attitude, that's okay, because something fantastic has a chance to happen within you. If the movie is good.

This transformation has happened with a lot of people who watched RM. Why? Because they disregarded the critics, they trusted themselves and they gave the movie a chance.

Someone on one of the blogs said that critics watch from a distance, holding themselves separate. This, they think, engenders objectivity. It does not, but that's beside the point.

The point is that all art must be entered into, experienced 'in the right way' as Buber says. You can't 'get it' if you are just out to get it. You can't be moved if you hold yourself apart from it.

The sad thing is that those who do not read books or watch films or plays or experience any art with the right attitude, miss the grandeur, the profundity, and the just plain loving beauty of it all.

We have written so much about the topic of RM not being WIDELY received esp from his fanbase. As time has passed and the more i think about it, i think you make a lot of sense.

If not for Robert, I have to admit, i probably would not see it. To me, i happened to like the story, but apparently not many did and those opted not to see the movie.

I am hoping people like BelAmi and WFE storylines. And then they can see Robert and his progression as a serious actor.

@jessegirl: Well, I'm here because I read your bit about discussing critics on the other thread. Good to hear your review is making the rounds. :) I’m not sure I completely agree with your critique of the critics, as I wouldn’t lump them all into one category. I do very much agree with your point about the way, in general, the Saga has been seen and reviewed. Without a doubt, there is gender bias, and we all know if they were films sought by the ‘fanboy’ market there would be at least a basic respect for the worldwide appeal of the films, and the stories, that seems very lacking in the approach to Twilight. There is at best a grudging respect for its commercial success, and a continual dismissal of its female fan base that seems misogynistic. Twilight has a female protagonist, rather than a male, as in Harry Potter, or any of the other franchises, and a female sensibility, but has been hugely popular, and somehow that seems to be unacceptable, whether or not it might be seen as just a popcorn movie. And I do agree a backlash exists against Remember Me that has a lot to do with Twilight. I feared the Saga would make it impossible for RM to be seen on its own terms, but the anger and accusations about manipulation was unexpected, and seems to make it easier to dismiss the film out of hand.
However, not all critics did so, and some, even if they didn’t like all aspects of RM, responded positively to the film and Rob’s performance and said so. I don’t think anyone ‘has’ to read critics, or reviewers, before they go to a film - or take any of their opinions into account – but I do think that good reviews can help small films get taken more seriously by those who hand out awards, and that leads to more recognition and a chance to be seen, so sometimes they are worth it. Word of mouth can also do the same in terms of getting a film a wider release. However, RM got a wide release by Summit, and I think that also fed into the backlash. Most films like RM, with its kind of subject matter and dramatic tone, would have to go the regular indie route. Summit must have known what RM was, if they are being honest about the budget. It’s hardly a rom com, an action-packed thriller, a 3-D fantasia or a G-rated family movie. I believe Summit was gambling on the fact that they could get enough people into the cinemas before the concerns about the lack of a ‘happy’ ending became too well-known. Going wide may have paid off, but the fact that RM didn’t travel the platform road touched on what Rob is talking about when he says he feels he hasn’t ‘earned’ his cred yet, and it will take a while for him to gain a body of work that will support the position he has. I..er… have a whole theory about Summit’s inability to properly market its own product (Twilight hardly needs it) having to do with its origins as a distributor, but I won’t go on...lol I think RM has done well for this kind of movie without proven ‘stars’, without universal critical approval, and shows Rob does have a supportive fan base. It may not be as large as the full Twilight contingent, but its respectable...well, some of us may not be so respectable, speaking for myself...;)

jessegirl said...

AP...
Thanks for shedding your knowledge of the industry on this, and how the saga and Summit play their roles in what's happening. Yeah, I'm getting ornery now and may have lumped critics too much together. I didn't qualify with words like 'some' critics, etc.

I haven't entered this kind of fray for a long time and it's not very satisfying.

Given that I've admitted to painting critics with too broad a stroke, I still stand by my general comments.

And very much do I think that it depends on whether the viewer--critic or general ticket buyer--views it 'the right way'.
This 'right way' has, itself, within itself, many ways and perceptions but it is like you've gone through the right door and then see and make up your mind on the other side of it.

I'm not explaining this well.
I guess, basically, it is a matter of the initial attitude one brings to it. And one can't discover the heart, the purity of intent, the subtle beauty, if one is insistent on playing the patronizing, dismissive card.

AP said...

@jessegirl: I think you're explaining it fine. I agree that what you bring to a film may well enable you to 'walk through the door' or not. This film resonates a lot for me, as I know it does for you, and detachment isn't an option. But I know there are a lot of other good films that didn't move me as much because I guess I didn't relate in the same way. I could admire them, but from 'a distance.' So I do get what you're saying, and its a good point. Thanks for the discussion. :)
