Is Robert Pattinson More Influential Than Obama?

Photobucket

Is Robert Pattinson more influential than Barack Obama? Well according to Time Magazine's Time 100 Poll he is and so is Lady Gaga and Susan Boyle and Adam Lambert...

I gotta say Rob is pretty influential in my life, more influential than Obama for sure but Lady Gaga? Not so much :)

Thanks to clarabolina and aimeyeteaa for the tips.

If Robert Pattinson (or anyone else on that list) is more influential than Barack Obama, The President Of The United States, the leader of the free world, then...

Were more fucked up than I thought.

And I really think were fucked up.

Let's ask Rob what he thinks.

This is ridiculous.

It's a joke, right?

But it's Time magazine.

I'm confused.

Yeah.

They know.

Maybe I'm confusing 'influential' with 'important'.

Maybe I need to go to bed.

There's a thought.

Never mind about Obama - in which alternative universe are Susan Boyle, Lady Gaga and Adam Lambert more influential than Rob?

Don't know who some of those people are. Perhaps I should pay more attention to current affairs and not just Rob Fu*king Pattinson's current affairs.

Never gonna happen ;)

Hey Gozde!!!

Um Susan Boyle, Adam Lambert, and Roger Federer? What?

Obama and Rob should be at the top. All voted.

And why is Rob's average rating only 92%. Should be 100.

Umm not too sure how to comment on this.
I supose Rob's down to earthness (is that even a word?) could be infuential if your young. He's very level headed for a rich young man.

The only bad, well mildly bad thing is that he gets drunk now and then. But hey he's 23 so we forgive him - right? And we get to see wobbly drunk Rob...

Nik,
Keep chasing you around here today, left a comment on the previous thread!

P.S.
Rob DOES influence me!!!

He makes me stay up nearly all night and every avaliable time during the weekends just to surf, twitter and blog about him!

Oh, and, being serious for a moment, this is plainly ridiculous!

Influential - really?

I know that Rob has an influence on certain parts of my brain/body, but don't think that's what Time magazine is referring to...

actually he was he selected in Time 200 than voters cab vote who gets into top 100. Times does it every year, last year my President was among the time 100 and his son attended the ceremony in the US. They also have a special Time 100 issue. Right now to me Rob is rate is 100 because he influence me to vote, last year I didn't care to vote for anyone on the list.....

Wow, a figure skater is number three. (I did some googling.)

This is simply an exercise at who is able to mobilise their fanbase effectively. But a former Iranian politician as the number one? Who woulda thought?

I am curious if Time will present the findings deadpan or with tongue planted firmly in cheek.

Since he isn't actually compared to Obama in their poll, but rather in a category of arts and entertainment as opposed to world leaders, I don't think we need to even ask this question. I do think he is more influential than Lady Gage, Adam Lambert, and Conan O'Brien. It is a toss up with Susan Boyle since she has been so inspirational to so many people. In my life, Rob is the most influential. He influences the first website I open in the mornng and the last thing I google at night.

ShariG I agree with most of your post. I think that Robert is very influencial in the entertainment/pop culture. And he is a very grounded and down to earth guy, which makes him sexier. And he's got great screen presence. And he's wonderful in most of his interviews (specifically his solo interviews).

I do think that Adam Lambert and Lady Gaga should definitely NOT be so high on the list, it's ridiculous. And I do agree that the only one who comes close to Robert's influence in entertainment/pop culture is Susan Boyle, because as you said she has inspired a lot of people, her story was very moving, and her voice is beautiful.

So is this Time's final list? Or will they make two lists one for politics and one for pop culture, or will they put all of them in one?

How the heck are people like han han and lady gaga, and alot of others on that list, influential? Are they going by number of fans and assuming numbers mean influence?

Rob had had influence on a lot of people, although I don't think he is consciously influencing or directly influencing. He indirectly (and often unwillingly) influences people to read, hunt him, join antipapz sites, learn how to use electronic devices like cameras, blogsites, and tweddling; spend fortunes of money and aeons of time purchasing stuff wiht his photo, going on trips to get a glimpse or whiff of himself, reading and writing on blogs; and although I don't understand the workings of the film industry, he is influencing something there as well.
So yeah, he is influential in his own way. Last year, Obama influenced many, gave people hope and encouragement. Now, not so much.

Lets take this with a grain ...um a barrel of salt. I actually like gaga somewhat, but she definately is not more influential that 99% of the people on that list. She reminds me of a mediocre combination of Madonna and Cindi Lauper.

This list is really about popularity. Love rob and what he does to me, but this list is crazy.

Spunky- 'She reminds me of a mediocre combination of Madonna and Cindi Lauper.'

YES!!!

That is a pretty wierd list - I don't even know the top 4 - guess I'm not up on my current events......except for Rob's.

Rob has said he'd like to be in politics - even would like to be President.
Remember that interview???? The guy said what kind of things would you change?
He said he'd tell everyone to "kiss my ass"............he must have been drunk!!!!
