The only funny thing I thought funny about this skit was soon Robert would be bedding Ryan's ex in Water for Elephants. HaHaHa Ryan. Jimmy Fallon still the funniest Robert imitation IMHO.

Marisol said...

That was pathetic!!!! Sad, very sad imitation.

@Noe, I did think he looked like Billy Burke, I thought it was him actually :)

SNL was not very good last night. They need new writers and if Rob does go on SNL I hope they write some good lines for him. He was really cute on Jimmy Fallon.

I still don't understand why there are no pictures of Rob and Kristen anywhere. Does anyone know if she is in London still with Rob. It's like they both Vanished it weird. I got so use to seeing pics everyday of him now nothing. Hope they are both fine and making the most of it!!!!!!!!

I agree with Ilovthemovies: it's really funny that Rob will soon be bedding Ryan's ex in WfE.
The only thing I really found amusing about this skit was SNL making a joke about Rob and Kristen being a couple but not wanting to admit it. It just shows that that's well-known enough now that it can even be joked about.

I would like Rob to do something else funny like host SNL because I thought his Jimmy Fallon skit was hilarious!

Brooke Moss said...

That was dumb.

jmm4832 said...

Whoever was playing Kristen really had quite a bitchface on. Kinda funny.

nikola6 said...

No, not too funny. But remember, imitation (even a lousy one) is the sincerest form of flattery. As for him hosting...

I'll nab him, lock him in the trunk of my car and drive off into the desert with him if I hear he's even contemplating it. Not this show. Not NOW. Not for a hundred million reasons.

Don't you see, the coolest thing in the world would be to not host it? Let everyone and their grandma do that.

You keep walking Rob.

nikola6 said...

Now don't be shy with your opinon there, Nik ol girl.

Speak right up.

Brooke Moss said...

I agree, Nik. This is the exact reason the Rob F*ING Pattinson conversation even happened.

Don't do it, Rob. Save yourself. Do me, instead?

Damn. I knew I was pushing it.

Monique said...

I don't think that was funny, plus Ryan... Yeah! He can make jokes. He left his wife and throw his gf over... I for one am very glad that those two can keep quite about whatever is going on in the private lives.

Oh and Nicola6, I enjoy reading all your post... they are funny and entertaining. Keep posting

Lol i think its funny how even SNL believes they are dating! some people just need to get it through their heads that THEY ARE DATING!! Now im not trying to start drama! Im not a crazy robsten shipper but im also not an even crazier nonsten shipper! I just love both rob and kristen and believe they are dating!

@chanel1oo and SusieGlam,
I am pleased that there are others who agree. It was funny because while SNL was airing on television, I was watching the taped Graham Norton Show w/Christina Ricci and was laughing my head off. I was so glad I did not waste my time watching SNL.

I agree with others, please Robert, I implore you, do not go on SNL, it is awful at this time. I would rather see Rob on Graham Norton, that to me would be great entertainment.

nikola6 said...

Sarah...
I thought about that and almost ended my post with...ya know.

And Monique...
Thank you so much. I guess it'll take a crane to get me out of here 'cause I love my boy and I love you guys too. Stayin' put.

And yeah...
EVERYBODY KNOWS! Well kids, I'll give ya a couple of cupcakes for trying. Really though, an outstanding effort. But with being two of the most sought after people in the world, it was only a matter of time before it all came to it's enivitable conclusion. But still...An outstanding effort. I commend you both (but keep on not saying anything 'cause it's so friggin' cool and those who don't like it? They can just go and salute themselves). And what the hell...

YOU'RE ROB FUCKING PATTINSON!

(bears repeating, don't it?)

Marna said...

This skit is why Rob needs to NOT host SNL, not funny, not funny at all.

LovenRob said...

Hello everyone! I am new the board, but I have been lurking for quite awhile. I just love all of the conversations you gals have so I got brave and decided it was time I signed on. I hope this ok with everyone. I have been a Rob fan ever since I saw him in Harry Potter.

LovenRob said...

You gals only put positive comments on the board and I really like that.

LovenRob said...

I don't think it was funny at all, but I don't watch SNL anyway.

nikola6 said...

Welcome LovenRob...

Yup. This is a pretty good bunch here and I think it starts at the top with Goz, Kate, Kat and not so long ago, Dani. **waves at Dani**

Not that we can't get into it and poke a few sticks in one another's eyes. We can. But we usually right the ship.

But yeah, when I first got interested in Rob and was rolling around this internet trying to decide where to land, I saw such nastiness and stupidity. But not so much here. Sure, some. Human nature and the annonimity of the internet being what it is. But overall, a very decent group of people.

Have fun.

MMc said...

Welcome LovenRob.............we all love Rob here and it's a nice place to be - our happy place!!

I think Rob should not do SNL but he could do a cameo pre-recorded spot, maybe with Kristen - they could do question/answer thing like they did in France and have a button to push when they got too personal and have some really off the wall questions.

They've had some REALLY famous people do walk on's and small sketches like Mick Jagger and Paul McCartney - that question/answer thing Paul did with Chris Farley was hilarious and Paul played the straight man - didn't have to be funny..........Chris took care of that.

Chris with Patrick Swayze was also super hilarious.

Probably why Jimmy and Rob sketch was so cute.......well......one reason......put a funny man with a straight man that's famous.

I love Rob but pray he doesn't do SNL.

Reese is so much older than Rob - I hope that pairing works ok.........she was his Mother in Vanity Fair for heaven's sake..........!!

LovenRob said...

Thank you nikola6!
I just love being with others who love Rob as much as I do and can have adult conversations without being rude or mean. I tell ya, there are some sites out there that just make me wonder how people can be so cruel to others.

LovenRob said...

Thanks femroc!

LovenRob said...

I have actually been a lurker for quite sometime. You all are so supportive of Rob and his career and each other.

nikola6 said...

Another thought...

If SNL were still in it's glory days, when it was at the cutting edge of comedy and pop culture, then hell yeah. I'd drag his ass myself up onto that stage (and pour a bottle of gin down his throat to get him up there). And that's because back in the day, hosting this show MATTERED! It doesn't anymore.

And that's because the glory days of SNL are gone and that's not to say they can't have another resurgence. They can. But this thing needs a complete overhall. New producer (sorry Lorne, but even YOU are not cutting it now), new cast and most importantly, new writers. And good luck with that as they're walking in the footsteps of John Belushi, Dan Ackroyd, Gilda Radner, Eddie Murphy, Jan Hooks, Billy Crystal, Dana Carvey, Tina Fey and perhaps the best actor SNL ever produced...the late, great Phil Hartman (and I know I'm leaving a slew off of that list, but I'm typing off the top of my head).

But go out and find people like that SNL and then you'll have something...again. The truth is, this show isn't relevant anymore and if you're attempting topical, irrevrent, saterical comedy, if you're not relevant...you're nothing. If it weren't for Tina Fey's sendup of Sarah Pallin, I even wonder if this thing would still be on the air. Tina saved that show. Honestly, does anyone really watch this thing for the cast and the writing? I don't think so. I think they tune in if there's a host they're interested in. Maybe for the musical guest.

This thing has become just one more stop on (what was it I called it the other day?)...the pop cultural shit parade? Yeah. That was it (good one if I do say so myself). And Rob doesn't need this and I think his fans want it just so they can watch him for an hour and half on tv. I dare say, there are those out there who'd want him to ANYTHING (the Jerry Springer show even...oh gawd), just to see his face on the tube.

But that's thinking of your WANTS and not his NEEDS.

Just sayin'. Shutting up now.

nikola6 said...

Okay. Not shutting up.

LovenRob...
I have a theory as to why the internet is so nasty. It's the anonimity of it all. If we had to somehow identify ourselves so that anyone who knew us (spouse, parents, kids, friends, clergy, the boss) could come to the internet and see what we write here, people would not say the things that they do. Well. Not the rational ones anyway. For all of the good this internet can do (communication, the gathering of information), I also think this thing is a powerful force for negativity in this world. Sadly, it has brought out the worst in people. And some say that the internet is free speech. I'm not so sure about that. True free speech is owning your words. Saying something and then signing your name to it AND that's not what is happening on the internet.

Okay. Sorry. Just like to spout my 'free speech'...uh...speech at any available opportunity.

And femrock...

Better get used to Rob working with older actresses. And that's because he's got the sexual maturity to hold his own against them onscreen. As did Mel Gibson and Kevin Costner when they first began their film careers. For the first five years or so of their careers, a majority of their leading ladies were older than them. Big difference though, they were nearly 10 years older than Rob is now, which says a TREMENDOUS amount that sexual maturity of his. If Hollywood didn't think he could hold his own against these older, seasoned actresses, they wouldn't cast him opposite them. It's really quite the compliment to him. But think about it...

Emilie de Ravin -- 5 yrs. older
Christina Ricci -- 7 yrs. older
Uma Thurman -- 16 yrs. older
Kristin Scott Thomas -- 26 yrs. older
Reese Witherspoon -- 10 yrs. older.

Personally, the two actresses I cannot wait for them to pair Rob up with? Natalie Portmann (7 yrs. older) and Marionn Cottiard (8 yrs...I think)

As for Reese...
He looks older than he is and she looks younger, so I think they're gonna match up just fine. And maybe they'll make Marlena a few years older than Jacob. She is after all a married woman and a veteren circus performer. Would make sense if she were say
25 to 28ish opposite Jacob's 23.

And I'm sure they'll be some mention when it comes time to promote this, that yes, she once played his mother in a film.

Rob will laugh. And Reese will smack him. I would to girlfriend.

@nik

hm... i never thought of it that way. i was just thinking of having rob to any venue so that i may see his face more.

but shoot when you put it that way i'll prefer him not to do it. oh but then i insist that another shoot like the details mag would be a fair trade... yeah it's really not. i just want another sexy shoot.

Noe said...

@Nik

i agree with the lady who said she enjoys reading your posts. reminds me of gozde's writing. VERY entertaining.

though i did wish i read the i am rob f'n pattinson one therefore i'd know about the whole hoping rob doesn't do snl.

gracefulgrace said...

Is this a show for preschoolers in the USA or do adults watch it!

Iluvthemovies said...

@nikola6
Please never stop shutting up. Your commentary is sheer brillance. I enjoy your comments and I do agree that SNL needs a complete overhaul. The last resurgence in SNL's popularity was when Will Farrell, Cheri Oteri, Molly Shannon, Ana Gastgyer, Darrell Hammond, and I can't recall all the other Saturday Night Live Players during that time. I believe Tina Fey and Jimmy Fallon were on the show but their roles were limited. However, now SNL is entirly void of comedy that makes you laugh out loud.

Keep the comments coming, it is more entertaining than many of the articles I read in magazines or other websites.

Robert never acts like that on interviews. KStew does. Rob is a lot more friendly. But the thing is, they ALWAYS portray Rob as their notion of Edward (which also is wrong)

lallieb said...

That was so not funny and rather pathetic. Glad everyone agrees. Also, totally with Nik and the rest about Rob never doing SNL. He does not need it and it would be painful to see his pretty face up there taking shots and trying to be funny. He knows better and Nick does too, I would hope.

@Honey136, wherever they are, they're keeping themselves out of harm's way and away from the dreaded papparazi. In other words, maybe it feels like their living a normal private life for the moment, anyway. I, personally, don't need a daily feeding. Every couple of months or so, to check on them/HIM is OK for me. Well, to be perfectly honest, I don't mind more frequent updates on Rob's real life activities as long as it's not overly intrusive and/or stressful for him. I have not written it before, but yuh, FILTM!

As an aside, I sincerely hope that the R&K "situation" has been laid to rest once and for all. The majority of regular commenters here seem to agree that it is what it is. Case closed. Consequently, the next time they get pappzed together, there will only be a collective sigh, not another endless battle of opinions and vitriolic comments! Is this realistic or a pipe dream? I hope not.

MMc said...

I'm glad they only showed us 41 seconds of that..........was not funny ........waste of time.

Not a good sketch and doesn't show them in a good light at all.

jmm4832 said...

I stopped watching SNL about 12 years ago. I remember the good old days of this show. Sometimes I wonder why it's not cancelled.

Reese Witherspoon looks years younger so I think her and Rob together will look fine. I think she's a fine actress.

nikola6 said...

I know that everyone's gone now, but just in case...

Thank you guys so much for those amazing comments about my writing. As a writer, I cannot tell you how it makes me feel. It gives me encouragement and helps me to deal with my insecurities AND that maybe, just maybe I can get that book done.

I love this place. Even if someone trolling around here did send the boogey man to my e-mail (and I don't know that that's true. Just a gut feeling) and now my comp is moving slower than I do before my morning coffee. I don't care. Stuff like that can be fixed, but being accepted as a part of this community has become very important to me.

Thank you so much. Love you guys.
