I was reading an old article and Rob was talking about doing Twilight "re-shoots", it is all very common. I really choose not to believe Laineygossip (or whoever she is)/random Tweets/lonely people who like to start rumors for whatever reason, because none of us were there and none of us has any idea what did or did not happen. Anyway, glad it's done and am really looking forward to the movie.

I just saw a cute video of Rob moments and one of them had an interviewer who asked him......(a great opening line)
Interviewer: Do you feel any responsibility for global warming???
Rob laughed and looked puzzled......

The UNINFORMED masses have access to keyboards and therefore, they are now CREATING the news. And there's no 'checks and balances'. As the old saying goes...'the inmates have truly taken over the asylum'.
Like that chick who claimed to be one of 8 people who sat in on a private screening of your film with it's stars; Pattinson, Stewart and Lautner. And then ran right straight to the internet to tell her 'fable'. BTW Mr. Slade, she didn't mention seeing you there. Why weren't you invited to this private screening? Pssst...come here. Just so ya know...directors usually go to their own screenings so that they can see what they've got and then make changes if needed. Just wanting to keep you in the loop here. Strange that you aren't enough of an 'insider' to get into the room? But she was.

My god. How did John Ford, William Wyler, Alfred Hitchcock, Elia Kazan, David Lean, Stanley Kramer (to name just a very few) manage to make their movies without the public's 'input'?

Evageline, I was just going to say that about LaineyGossip. At this moment, I am just going to wait and hope for the best and read comments from the lovely people from this blog under the spoiler thread. Because nobody is going to tell the truth. All I can say, I was surprised to see Stephenie Meyer with there for the reshoot.
Is that a normal thing for the Author to be there?
It never ceases to amaze me how far people will go to lie in order get their 15 minutes in the spotlight.

Normally the last person a director wants on a set, is the screenwriter. They might make a visit or two, but that's about it. And having the author of the book on which the screenplay is based on, on set, is even rarer. But this points to the fact that Meyer wields alot of power here. And I don't know why that is. I mean, she's not an F.Scott Fitzgerald, John Steinbeck or Ernest Hemingway.
I don't get it. I never have.

@Nik, kudos on your comment on other thread re. how sudden fame came to Rob. I have said the same thing in abbreviated form and much, much less articulately. The responses I got at that time, in so many words: He's an actor, he wanted this and should have known. People here these days are sure a lot more thoughtful.
But what I really want to say to you is that I, for one, would love to see you write Rob's biography some day, authorized or not. I think your treatment of the story would be well worth reading and you could start it with that serendipitous meeting you had with him at ComicCon at the very beginning. Someone will eventually do it, so why not you?
Oh please don't get me started on the objectifying of Mr. Pattinson. I did it once in a rant (re a Pappz photo that touched a nerve) and was summarily chastized by Gozde. This blog not the place for that issue and we know why ;)

Hi Evangeline, hope you are feeling well today. My question: Where do people read Lainey's comments about Rob and why? Who the hell does she think she is? I mostly don't go anywhere else on internet except here because I get to upset and angry. Why would people hate on Rob? Makes no sense to me.
i really holpes this is rumours, i think Rob and Slade descussed, but ppl do this all the time, it wasnt a big fight but only a disagreement of ideas
And about Lainey, well she hates Rob, actually hates everyone of the cast besides Kristen.
and @Monique Stephenie Meyer always was on the sets of the movies, with Twilight and New Moon was the same thing

I want to say I went on another very popular entertainment site and they wrote an article on Bill Condon and Breaking Dawn and the comments which started out about Mr. Condon and Breaking Dawn and how it should be made easily turned into gossip about whether Robert and Kristen broke up and about the viewing of Eclipse by this so called insider. It was disgusting how after about 90 comments on BD it turned into 710 comments on nothing else but these rumors. After 50 more comments I realized I did not need to read any further because it was just gossip. I guess I am still amazed how people treat people on the internet. That is why I like this site so much because your comments are so civilized unlike those other sites. Keep it real ladies, I enjoy your comments immensely. I laugh and share your frustrations on what other sites or people say about or do to Rob.
I was laid-off from work about two months ago and I am taking care of an elderly grandmother, so I come on this site to get destressed from everyday life. The only thing I am looking forward to other than getting another job and has anything to do with Rob, is his appearance on Oprah and watching Eclipse.
@lluvthemovies, just go here. All postings are vetted as being true and the community of commenters are thoughtful and not about gossip AT ALL. We have differences of opinion, sure, but it all comes back to being about Rob. Random, unsubstantiated gossip is not appreciated or gets a response,

Rumors are a complete waste of time often getting worse as time passes. Just focusing on the inner and outer beauty of the pretty helps to keep all that other negative, unnecessary BS away.

Gossip and Rumors
have been around for years and just like everything else the internet has allowed it to go global without any responsibility.
I am surprised that someone took a picture of him on the plane. Most people in first class are a little more respectful than that. Whom ever took the picture must have not been a normal first class passenger. I really don't need to see those kinds of pictures.
Us sane fans don't have the advantage of knowing what is fact or rumor like David does.
The people spreading the rumors piss us off too David!

But they rather post it on the net and make a total fool out of themselve eventually just for that 5 seconds of fame. How stupid is that?

Thank you for your comments and I agree about your comments on gossip and rumors. I worked in Human Resources and many a rumor plus wide spread gossip lead to poor morale and productivity. I luv all your and the other ladies comments on how you feel about Rob and his many looks and speaking your minds when there is any negativity toward Rob.
I just want to say I really liked David Slade's 30 Days of Night and although that was a more traditional Vampire movie I can only hope that he will do a very good job on Eclipse, I am keeping my fingers crossed.
I feel the need to comment on Lainey after seeing some comments posted here. So if you can't bring an open minded perspective, then just skip this.
I live in Vancouver and I've read Lainey's blog for a long time. Most people outside of Canada don't realize she isn't JUST a gossip blogger. She is also a reporter for CTV, a Canadian tv network. Before her media work, she was a fundraiser for Covenant House, a charity for runaway youths. What I'm trying to get at is that she is a well known personality here and she's not just some anonymous blogger who can make random false comments and expect to get away with it.
I AGREE that she has falsely reported some things before (twilight, and non-twilight related) but mostly that seems to be due to bad sources/tips. She is more often right than wrong.. Has everyone already forgetten that it was her that broke the story on the Eclipse reshoots/"pickups"? I also agree that she isn't a big fan of Rob. But who cares?! None of my friends understand my "Robsession" and say things about him that I wouldn't dream of repeating here.
I know most of you will continue to dislike her, but hopefully you at least know not to lump her in with the Perez's, Ted C's, etc etc.
It just think it is awesome that he himself informed us about what was going on!! :)
Hope Rob doesnt have too bad a time in LA, with all the papz lurking behind every corner.. hopefully Kristen will be back soon!!

@Samantha, my only question about Lainey and it could be widely known, but I don't know: Why doesn't she like Rob? Did I read that she likes Kristen, but doesn't like Rob?? Can you enlighten me.

Lainey does not like Rob like I does not like Taylor Lautner. I cannot sai that people who likes Taylor has poor taste, they just have avery different taste than I have.
I believe in some of what Lainey wrote. Remember when Rob was asked about Chris? He just have great things toi say, he clearly liked the guy. When asked about David Rob (and Kirsten too) was much more lukewarm.
Now, David seems like a ruthless kind of guy, and my gut instinct tells me to be cautious about him.
Where I'm going with this? Some people get along, some don't... and normaly this has a lot to do with personality.
I, for instance, have a personality more like I perceive Rob's to be. I don't get along too well with rude...er, I mean, ruthless people. Normaly this kind of personality makes people unsensitive and disrespectiful and that just doesn't agree of my opinion on how we should treat the people around us.
But even I know that not all people with strong, forcefull personality, like David and I guess Lainey, are bad and hard to be friends with.
Ok, I know I am being 'a bit'confusing here (I guess if I was writting it in portuguese it would make more sense) but what I want to say is let's say that Rob and David has/had creative differences. Does that make one of then a bad person? Does that make Rob a Diva, as some said?
I don't think so. If I would speculate something, like lot's of people seem to be doing with this drama, I would say that Rob is not very happy to cut his minimal time off. I would too. I also would say that David's probably not too happy too with the problems with the movie. Know what happens when people get stressed about stuff? When what happens with people that already does not get along too well, are stressed and disagree?
Just saying...
Anyway, I LOVE ROB and I wish him all the best. That he goes past all the criticism and naysayers with much sucess and most of all, I hope he's happy with he's life and choices.
