UPDATE
Thanks to Twifans

Per Summit Entertainment this is not the red carpet premiere. Red carpet is still Grauman's unless that changes.

From PR News Wire
Today Film Independent, the non-profit arts organization that produces the Spirit Awards, the Los Angeles Film Festival, and year-round artist development programs and exhibition events, announced the official selections for the 2010 Los Angeles Film Festival, presented by the Los Angeles Times. The Festival will run from Thursday, June 17 to Sunday, June 27 in downtown Los Angeles, with its central hub at L.A. LIVE. Now in its sixteenth year, the Festival is recognized as a world-class event, showcasing the best in new American and international cinema and providing the movie-loving public with access to critically acclaimed filmmakers, film industry professionals, and emerging talent from around the world.

The Festival will host the invitation-only world premiere of Summit Entertainment's The Twilight Saga: Eclipse on June 24 at Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. Details for the screening can be found at LAFilmFest.com. The film is directed by David Slade and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Ashley Greene, Billy Burke, Peter Facinelli, Elizabeth Reaser, Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz, Jackson Rathbone, and Dakota Fanning. In Eclipse, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger as Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings, and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob, knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the struggle between vampire and werewolf. The Twilight Saga: Eclipse opens nationwide on June 30, 2010.

Passes to attend the Festival are available immediately for Film Independent members, and beginning May 10 for the general public. In addition to screenings and events, Festival passes provide access to a series of networking receptions and entry to the ZonePerfect live.create. lounge, where Festival pass holders can interact with Festival filmmakers and professionals in the film community. General admission tickets to individual films go on sale beginning June 1. Contact the Festival Ticketing Center for passes, tickets and event information by calling 866.FILM.FEST (866.345-6337) or visit LAFilmFest.com. Festival Passes and tickets can also be purchased in person beginning on Monday, June 14 at the Festival Ticketing Center located at L.A. LIVE (800 W. Olympic Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90015).

rpg- on twifans site it says the venue has changed from grohman's to nokia.

That place will be a zoo. It is at one of the busiest places and nearby freeways in Los Angeles. Luckily no one is playing at the Staples Center. Still there is excitement in the air and I hope they can stream it live like the New Moon premiere. I hope they have decent people who can interview the cast, I don't want to see interviews from that singer on the New Moon soundtrack. She was awful, at times amusing but awful.

summit has not confirmed this at all...the LAFF is at the Nokia, prem may still be at Graumans...I am booked in like 3 different hotels!!!!!

Delle1 said...

Isn't that a little weird 2 premieres' on the same night in the same city...........you're gonna go to the cast premiere surely so who would be at the other?
Idk,just trying to figure!!!

rpattzgirl survived Rob! said...

The LAFF has nothing to do with the premier, 2 sep events. Summit confirmed prem is not at the Nokia, so assume still at Graumans.

Just updated the post.Didn't know you were going RPG, I'm jealous!!

Kate,
There's a whole mess of us going and we're all a little bit crazy right now!!!!

Kate said...

Oh that's great. It's good that ye will all get a chance to meet up! I'm jealous that I don't live over there :-{
I don't know WTF is going on with this it's all very confusing. Hopefully Summit will clear it up soon!
I'm not editing this post anymore until something has been confirmed officially!

Kate,
Probably a good idea....it's quite a "clusterfuck" at the moment. We will be tweeing from there, and we have lots of ground control to keep everyone updated. We're praying none of us end up in handcuffs (unless it's to Rob)!

Ana73 said...

Ok Everyone. I called the number and they said this is the Red Carpet Premiere with all of stars and everything. You have to be a member of film thing to get invited but you can buy a pass for like ALOT of $$$$$. Call the number and talk to an operator to find out, that's what i did. I asked her if there is another premiere the same night at grohman's but she said as far as she knows this is the only World Premiere that she knows of.

rpattzgirl survived Rob! said...

Ana73,
This is where the clusterfck comes in...as Summit came out today and said it's not the premier...that's why everyone is in such an uproar...
Either way, we're all booked in Hollywood & LA both!

Ana73 said...

oh and you cant buy just passes to eclipse you have to buy the big package to all of the festival.

Iluvthemovies said...

I hope all of you attending the premiere wherever it may be can get up close and personal with Rob. I know we will all eagerly await your comments on all you do and see at the premiere. I have to concur with Kate I am a bit jealous, but just don't like the crowds and waiting anymore, when I was younger I waited plenty. Have fun.

A question for you? Has anyone ever heard of a world premiere of this magnitude happening within a film festival? I can see Summit's plan to stage a mass wild opening, so why would they be on the same night? in the same ciy? that defeats the purpose of the onslaught of publicity... it makes sense to spread it out and keep the buzz flying. Does that make sense? Something is wrong with that picture.

Lots happening at one time for Summit:
Eclipse out/ premieres everywhere?
Bel Ami showing at Cannes?? in May?
Water for Elephants begins shooting end of May in U.S.
?? "Captives" film after that?
Breaking Dawn begins shooting sometime in the fall?

Factor in all the preparation time for each film, the pre and post promotion schedule, travel and time changes, jet lag, live interviews, magazine photo shoots, not to mention actual role and scene prep,,, and all the rest of the glam, and there's no time for sleep.

And, riding that wild non-stop rollercoaster are Robert and Kristen. It seems the only thing that would stop Robert from going to Cannes (Bel Ami) is a huge new volanic ash cloud... if he gets there, he might not be able to leave so easily... This is all my own private conjecture at this point, but what a lot of work and frantic activity to squeeze into a short period of time; much like his rocket-like rise to world fame. And yeah, we're all excited and making plans, but I'm a little sorry for him right now too. Why are they scheduling all these things so tight? What's all this mad rush about?

Nikola6... Thanks for your "what's your dream?" answer from the other day, ... sorry I've been active with work and haven't responded to it. Wish we could connect elsewhere and discuss it outside of blogs. Any thoughts on that?
