I wonder what it must feel like to have people tell you how HOTTT you are all the time. If you heard it every day and read it in print all the time and saw your face on tons of magazines.....what must that feel like? For anyone? And for Rob?

Na na nana na I have this picture on my laps, nothing like the "real thing";)))

@solas (hope you read this): I read your songtext on the other thread, but comment here because the thread's already burried. Did you really write it? It's so beautiful, congrats. Made me think about the sixties, seventies when songtexts with their messages often were more important than the music. You know: voice and guitar and that's it. Used to write myself some prose when I was young but unfortunately real life took away that ability, or more probably wasn't talented enough. Again well done

beanie said...

@jessegirl, so sorry I didn't answer your question on the other thread: went to bed after my comment. I live in Belgium and Remember me, after 4 weeks of release, is quite a success here. Checked it again for you: 5th place in top 10 box office numbers, 3rd place in the list of number of movie performances , 2nd (!) place on the list of most appreciated movies choosen by the audiences. Unfortunately we're just a little country, but every little helps, doesn't it? As I mentioned before, reviews here were better than I expected and Rob is very beloved, so the 'Robeffect' has worked.
Hope you read this 'cause as Nik I have the habit to comment on a thread that's almost burried.

Wild Nights – Wild Nights!

Emily Dickinson ( American Poet )

Wild Nights – Wild Nights!
Were I with thee
Wild Nights should be
Our luxury!

Futile – the winds –
To a heart in port –
Done with the compass –
Done with the chart!

Rowing in Eden –
Ah, the sea!
Might I moor – tonight –
In thee!

Oh Rob, this wallpaper and the night inspire me a lot. I love you Rob!! You are my paradise.

Beautiful wallpaper, tinkrbe1l3 , congratulations!

femroc...I know, I've asked myself that so often. What must Rob feel like, having all that come at him?
What does something like that do to a man?

beanie...Thank you so much for your information on Belgium's reaction to RM. Everyone here knows RM is a special thing to me. That is such good news!

By the way, when you were talking to Solas, did you mean lyrics (the words to the song) when you said songtext?

beanie said...

@jessegirl, have to say that Remember me is very special for me too, like this kind of movies very much. I'v always been a fan of James Dean and his 'Rebel without a cause'.
So this is called lyrics? Thanks for correcting. I've always a dictionary by the hand and commenting takes so much time that the thread is dead when I finally post. Studied English longtime ago and almost forgot everything, because didn't practise anymore.

jessegirl said...

Okay, everyone, I know this isn't the place--geez,it's a wallpaper post--but there is nothing else, so here goes.

I've made it my mission to create a grass roots movement to put together three words: "Remember Me" and "Oscar". I know the critics panning probably has tanked its chances but WOM should at least put the idea into the heads of those who campaign for it.

I'm ignorant of the process but I'm not unaware of how delusional my idea sounds. I figure if enough people put those words together enough times and in the right places, real Oscar buzz might actually happen.

Those of you who know something, where might our voices best be heard to make this happen?
I know we've been scrapping around here but what place to comment, email, etc.?

Because, the more I think about it, the more I think this film deserves that kind of recognition. So many other films over the years, even last year, are not up to RM's standard of excellence.
Okay, I really believe that.

Would you all find those venues to 'speak up', to help launch the grass roots RM Oscar campaign??

jessegirl said...

beanie...I appreciate all your efforts at English and I'm always humbled by all the people who put out that effort to communicate in English!
It was only the one term which confused me. Thanks for clearing it up.
If I began commenting in any other language I would be sure to say something embarrassing, -I'm that bad.

beanie said...

Oh, and the real reason I like Remember me so much is because the movie is judged in a very unfair way by narrow-minded reviewers. Rob and the others don't deserve this. So I started a little crusade against those reviewers by commenting where I could to defend this little movie.

beanie said...

Thanks jessegirl, but it's very frustrating reading all those lovely comments here and not be able to take part of the conversation. Joking in a foreigh language is very difficult. Fortunately reading English is easier than writing.

beanie said...

Jessegirl, perhaps Nik can give you some advice. Personally I don't think Remember me has a chance to win an Oscar but I'll do everything I can to give the recognition it deserves and I was asking the same questions: where to place comments ...

solas said...

Beanie, some of us are doing the same, as far as speaking up for Remember Me, and counteracting the negative reviews. May we all keep it up!
Re: My song lyrics-Many thanks! yes, I really wrote it (and a few dozen more)and really used to sing it; I started writing in the 70s when I was 15, and although I sang in a rock band (local thing, hardly out of the basement or garage), I spent more time on my own with just voice and guitar. Very oddly, since I love rock so much, my songs are mostly ballads, calming contrast to the storm in my soul that rock appeals to.
Someone on this site suggested musicwriter software which I bought but did not figure out yet, so when I have the time I will attempt to get my songs online.

beanie,i so agree and i think if all of us from all over stick together because RM is a world class movie and twitter [internet]is used in many ways let's take this advantage and used it for good not because critics did not approved that mean the whole world found it bad and said rob's acting was not good what the hell make those critics feel they rule the world and those critics know who they are they were the first ones

HeartThePretty_EvenMore said...

So glad the RM continues to do well around the world. Nasty critics. WOM continues to keep it alive. Twitter - Remember Me still tries to promote Tyler Tuesday. If there were a way to keep it alive, I'm there.
I agree that @Nik could give you some insights.
I ready for the DVD promotion. I will be buying several copies. I want to give it to friends. Can't wait for the commentary.

Back to The Pretty - just love the wallpaper. What a way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon - just staring. *sigh*

This is totally off topic but did anyone read the latest MOTU? What a cliffhanger?
Did you catch the Fifty Shades video by Biel posted on the author's new blog pages? Wow!

Off topic - but Tom Sturridge has a new movie coming out - he has a love scene with Rachel Bilson apparently and I can't wait to see it. Cut pix at the link above.

Waiting for Forever is the name of the movie. Go Tom!!

MMc said...

Solas - what was the music software they suggested? Finale? Sibelius? PrintMusic?

Sibelius is more user friendly than Finale especially if you have a Mac computer.

I think you can download a FinaleNotepad version of Finale for free at their site.

PrintMusic is pretty simple and if you have a Midi compatible keyboard you can just play the song and the music appears on the screen when you hook it all together and quantize the music to the quickest note in your song.

But you can just drag/drop notes to the staff and then play it.....more time consuming but gets the job done. And you can type in the lyrics as well.

Good luck.

fem--in case you don't remember (I've said it before) I am a technoklutz--really not good with machines. This includes software. What was HOPING for, but haven't had time to even open the package, is software where i can sing into the mike (which I am not sure I have yet) and have the music go onto the computer, and then get it onto myspace so people who have been asking can listen.

MMc said...

Oh, well you can make a recording of the song in a variety of ways and save it as an MP3 file and upload it or....make a video and upload it to Youtube - that would be the easiest.

I have one of me on youtube singing the Christmas song at a program I did in 2005.

It s, Spunky; I wonder what they tell him to do, or to think about, when they capture these looks!

solas said...

fem-- I would rather not show myself once I get the songs up; I will look into making videos to go with the songs. I can picture in my mind what to do but do not yet know how.

jessegirl said...

Solas...it's exciting about your music. Hope you get there.

They don't tell Robert to do anything. He just stares and between his external beauty and his soul peeking out, we get all those amazing--impregnating--stares.

fem...love to hear your stuff too.
So much creativity in our bunch.

jessegirl said...

Okay, about RM and Oscar...Say it again....Remember Me Oscar...
I went to the Brevet site (ropeofsilicon) and there are two ways to put your two bits in there.
1) Under the "News" tab, go to "Oscar Contenders", then scroll down to "Preliminary 2011 Oscar Contenders: The Complete List (March 19). Contribute to the comments under that post.

2)Under the tab "Awards" go to "The Contenders" and "For Your Consideration". That's where you can email him if you want.

I'm sure there are many other places to go but, the point it for as many of us to go to as many places as possible so that people will think about it.

And I don't see why RM couldn't win an Oscar. Somebody explain why so many mediocre attempts become contenders but this superlative film is not considered.
What world does everyone else live in?

solas said...

Jesse, You answered t yourself: mediocrity has taken over and excellence is hiding in galts' gulch.
