Did anyone hear about some special "behind the scenes" info about Eclipse/Robsten? It was tweeted..said that the twihards will "die" when they hear about it. Supposed to be heard about today.

Its about time Oprah got on the bandwagon. She is the last of the talk show hosts to have the Twilight actors on her show. Why did she wait so long? She had Stephenie!

Its funny how Rob almost looks like a 3D hologram beside Oprah.....It looks like he was beamed into the picture.....
Further proof that there is something STRANGE/ALIEN about Rob that the FBI/CIA (or whoever that handles such alien shit) should check out....
Its not normal for one person to possess such super human powers of attraction....

Thanks for that pic of Shia. THAT is hysterical. I'm thinking he wouldn't be such an OBVIOUS case of sour grapes, would he? It's gotta be a joke (but it's just that expression on his face that completes the entire 'look'). With his warped sense of humour, something tells me Rob would pee his pants laughing at that wondering...'where can I get one?'

No darling...
You can't have one until you're through selling this franchise. After that you can wear one everyday of your life (and I wouldn't put it past him)

And for the love of gawd, would you put your friggin' fingers back in your pocket? What are you trying to do us? Well.
Whatever you're tying to do...it's working.

STOP IT!

jessegirl said...

Nancy...I hear you. She's almost too late. Now we need Rob and only Rob for a full hour. Hear me, O?

jessegirl said...

Yeah, everyone....THE FINGERS!
Rob, talking to himself while trying to avoid looking at Oprah's chest:
"Where can I put them? Christ, they don't fit in my pockets and this is a body shot. Oh well, if they can't see my impregnating stare, well then, I'll just have to improvise...Let my fingers...well, it's all for the ladies at Robsessed. Here's to you, ladies."

And if his fingers don't fit into his pockets, well then...(I'm in the corner, I swear).

korinneraylie said...

As for fingers--it looks as if Shia's middle finger is broken--did he give Twlight the finger and have someone come and break it for him?

MMc said...

Lousy quality to that picture. How tall is Oprah? Rob just TOWERS over those young girls but not so much in this pic.

How exciting that must have been for the families he visited.......but wonder how HE felt? Why didn't they send Kristen or Taylor????

nzkstewlover said...

Holy crap @ his fingers

nikola6 said...

femrock...

Why didn't they send Kristen or Taylor? Because they are not the ones who are fueling this worldwide hysteria. Robert Pattinson is.

Remove him from this equation. Do you think this phenomenom would have become what it has? Yes, it would have been successful, but THIS successful?

What if they had cast Zak Effron as Edward? Do you think that women in their 40's, 50's and 60's would be having this reaction? If so, why aren't they having it over Zak anyway? They're not.

Let's go hunkier.
How 'bout Tom Weller (is that his name?) or Channing Tatum (wasn't he Meyer's first choice?). Do you think they would have exploded in the way that Rob has? If so, then why haven't they? They're name actors now. They're are out there. Women know who they are. So why not a worldwide explosion around them and whatever it is that they're doing in their careers?

I know that some think it's all Edward. I vehemently disagree. Without Robert Pattinson's participation here, I probably wouldn't have taken too much notice (and I'm guessing I'm not the only one) AND I certainly wouldn't be here yakking my head off about him.

It's Rob. They've tried to re-create it Taylor, but pretty much failed (except for the teen crowd who squeeled over his muscles). But you cannot manufacture something like this. It's like lightning in a bottle. You can't plan it. You can't stage it. It just happens. And with Rob Pattinson...

It just happened. And like a genie. There's now putting him back in the bottle.

lallieb said...

@CL, not really a fan of Taytay aka "dog" are you? Alot of peeps around here kick him to the curb. Poor kid, how can he possibly compete with the aura surrounding those other two. Have to admit I looked at the airport pics of Rob back from Vancity and did not even notice him until someone mentioned he was there too, and looked again LOL.

lallieb said...

@femroc, Rob is so good natured and so not a diva, that he generously goes along with whatever silly thing they throw at him. Remember the Tyra Banks show? Not to mention getting up in that tree with JK. I don't think he minds and kind of likes going along and seeing reactions of fans. He enjoys making people happy and giving back a bit to them, IMO.

lallieb said...

Correction: up in the tree with JF. I keep confusing those two.

lallieb said...

@Nik, I've said this before and I'm saying it again because I like to give credit where it's due. Perhaps the world (us) would have discovered Rob in some other vehicle down the line, but the truth is the genie was let out of the bottle by Catherine Hardwicke and, of course, Kristen. It's always about the timing, the intuition that kicks in and says yes, there's something here, don't know what it is, but there was something special and CH convinced those suits at Summit. Remember how he appeared at that audition? It was a real leap for him to be considered as the perfect Edward, she saw it as did Kristen. No matter what anyone says about CH, and she is a bit of a whack job, I will always be grateful that she took that leap of faith and let that damn genie out of the bottle. The rest is his and our history to enjoy.

Monique said...

Nik, interesting post and I tend to agree. Kristen... I think she would be too shy, Rob as Chris W. said, he filled with a sense of the absurd and Billy (Charlie) said he is a bit of a jeek?

Taylor... MHO... I think is full of himself. Maybe I am wrong but, from some of his interview I sense something.

No offence to his fans... but Nik after NM... I almost thought everyone was Team J. except here.

Monique said...

@Lallieb, I think fate would have allow us to discover him.
I've alway thank CH and KS... I remember reading an interview and she said that his approach to Edward and his attitude was not like the other actors that audition for the part so they say something and thanks to them we have discovered that certain something earlier.

RM is still doing well I see from BO Mojo... good for him.

Nancy said...

@steph, totally agree

@jesse, waves hi and thanks

@lliaeb, wow do I agree with you. The Tyra show was totally out of line, but Rob went along with it. Our good natured guy always goes along with whatever they come up with. That's why we love him. The JF show was another. Loved him on Jon Stewart show. Thought Jon would rip him up but was so nice, I was shocked. He's usually an A**hole, like Emmett. Very respectful of Rob.

Rob is so tall, he could look down and see the cleavage. (he didn't get caught, smirk)

FILTM

lallieb said...

I think Rob's days of agreeing to any silly stuff are numbered. As his currency and acting creds accumulate, he will be more respected, and his people will definitely tell him NO, once this Twilight franchise is done.

nikola6 said...

Monique...

The thinking that everyone (except here) turned Team Taylor was merely the PERCEPTION put forth by internet chatter and by the pop culture media trying to make it so.
It never was so. As I said...you cannot plan or manufacture a phenomenon such as Robert Pattinson. It just happens. Out of the blue. And when they tried to recreate it with Taylor, it pretty much failed.

Yes, Taylor has his fans (mostly the teenagers and yeah, a few adults), but where are his great roles (DuRoy in the classic Bel Ami or Jacob in the critically acclaimed Water For Elephants starring opposite such stellar talents as Kristin Scott Thomas and
Reese Witherspoon? Where is Taylor Lautner's executive producer credit on any film he's been in post Twilight. Come to think of it? Where are his post Twilight films? A small part in an ensemble comedy that came and died? And yes, I know that there are other roles in the works for him).

One more time and I guess I'll go on repeating this till I'm blue in the face and yes, I'm going to use shouty capitols because I want you all to hear this...

TAKE EVERYTHING YOU HEAR ON THE INTERNET AND TWADDLE WITH A HUGE GRAIN OF SALT. THESE SOCIAL FORMS OF COMMUNICATION ARE SIMPLY THE UNIFORMED MASSES SHOUTING ABOUT THAT WHICH THEY DO NOT KNOW

Did everyone get that? Ignore all of this internet and twiddle noise. Because that's all that it is. Hollywood knows this. They only pay lip service to it. They don't respect the masses because they know that the masses haven't got all the information. They've simply got recycled MISINFORMATION that they repeat and embellish over and over. The internet has no credibility or relevancy where Hollywood is concerned.

The ONLY thing you pay attention to is when Rob is cast in films like Bel Ami or Water For Elephants or Unbound Captives or the like. Internet chatter isn't getting him these roles. The powers that be in Hollywood are. And they're the only ones who matter here.

How do I get people to stop listening to this SHIT?

HOW???

Sorry. But have you ever felt like you were beating your head against a brick wall? Yeah? Me too. And I'm getting one fuck of a headache.

nikola6 said...

lallie...

The 'lightning in the bottle' of course, was his being cast as Edward Cullen. Had he not gotten that role and gone back to England to do more small, obscure independent films, then no, the phenomenon of Robert Pattinson would not have happened OR maybe it would have some time down the road with a different role OR maybe it would have happened with his music first. Whatever the vehicle, once he was brought to the public's attention, he would have exploded. Why? Because of his talent and because of WOMEN'S reaction to him. It is unique. How many 23-24 year old actors have a multitude of women old enough to be his mother, falling in love with him all over this world? Name me one. And I'm sure there are a few, but it's not exactly big news is it? The big misperception in this whole phenomenon is that this is being fueled by teenage girls. One day, this is going to get straightened out.

Rob has brought his own unique, star quality to this thing. No one else could have brought this in the way that Rob has, because they wouldn't be Rob. They'd be someone else and they would have brought something else to it, but it would not have been quite like THIS!

Hollywood thinks that Robert Pattinson is the next great male movie star. They think he's that good and that special. Why hasn't this happened for the Zak Effrons or the Channing Tatums or the Hayden Christensens or the guys from the Vampire Diaries or True Blood. Why? Because they don't have that unexplainable quality that Rob posessess. That quality that can make you an immortal movie star. Not all stars have it. Rob does. And the others? They just don't. If they did. They too would be worldwide phenomenons. And this doesn't guarantee that Rob will become this legendary movie star. That will depend on the decisions he makes in his career. He makes the wrong ones? Probably won't happen. He makes the right ones? And he'll be a star like Clooney and Depp when he's in his 40's and beyond. It's all there and it's his for the taking.

Am I making any sense here? I feel like I explain and explain, but I'm not getting my point across.

Am I?

So many have said it, but I'll say it again too... Robert is a special entity... he's like a modern day Marilyn Monroe, who pretty much came out of nowhere and hit the world on the head. Marilyn had a following that's still alive decades after her death. Why? Because she was a star, a real one, just like Robert. They used to say that she made love to the camera lens; she was always beautiful, sensitive, a little sad and sometimes so lost and her life ended tragically. And still the world loves her.

Robert is wonky, sometimes inappropriately funny, vague, lonely and an "odd specimen" as his recent director called him, in so many ways... but he's a star. He shines, and will continue to shine, with or without the sparkly glitter.

This Internet chatter and the Twilight promotion and all this romantic speculation will fade away quickly enough to be replaced by some new thing,,, but watch and see if Robert doesn't keep on shining along into the next phases of his life; his brilliance is the stuff that makes for real immortality.

lallieb said...

@Nik, calm down and come back please. She made a small observation, which was true. My Twi friend at work was briefly, very briefly, attracted to Taytay for the reasons all the little TwiHards were. This does not deserve your attention and rant. Come back to Rob and perhaps my comment and responses. I'd like to hear what you have to say about those. Pretty please?

Anonymous said...

Hi Nik: Just read your comment posted the same minute... funny we're thinking so much alike here... star quality. It's a rare thing and like you said, it may appear to be a teen age fad, but it's the "women" young, old and older, around the world that are really fueling it. So, even though the teen motivated vampire roles will end soon, the desire will continue in whatever direction his career will continue, even if it turns to music or writing, two areas he's mentioned himself.

Monique said...

Ok Nicola... LOL... I get it, that all I wanted to hear. And boy do I feel better now. ** Hugs***

Monique said...

Nik, Nik, Come on Nik... I love reading your post and I am happy to read all your amazing post. I too cannot get enough of this unique young man. Even a little blurb in a magazine or newpaper gets my attention... No not the Rags... Never the Rags.

lallieb said...

Here's the thing...I don't think Rob wants to be a star like Johnny or Brad. Yes, he has that something that obviously draws us like a magnet to him. I don't want him to be like those Hollywood actors and he doesn't want it either. So where does he fall in this? He wants to to be challenged and play characters in films that might not big BO. I think his career and choices might be very different and ultimately NOT going to put him in the same league, which is very OK with me. As you know Nik, he's an outsider, not a member of the "in" group. I don't want him to become the next big thing by Hollywood standards and I'm pretty confident he doesn't see himself as that either. I hope this is coherent.

jessegirl said...

Okay, then, how tall is Oprah?

jessegirl said...

Barbara...you don't want to know!

jessegirl said...

fem...'gang sign' or gutter sign? Hmmm...

jessegirl said...

Nik...yeah Robert is that magic, has the magic, embodies it.
All the others out there now? Zac, etc. Absolutely right, no women beyond the teens would respond that way.
It has been Robert who made us remember the boy who walked into the cafeteria and had us eating out of his hand--nice image there if I do say so--and it is Robert who has us wrapped around his finger...did I just say that!...and on a finger porn post too.

Anyway, he is pure, unadulterated, heaven-sent magic and none of the others can touch him.

jessegirl said...

lallieb...yeah Rob loves the silly. All that Cancer in his horoscope. Loves the silly. Only thing I missed in RM was his full throttle, open-mouthed laugh. God, he's absolutely irresistible then. Yup, his Cancerian tendencies let him feel at home biting Tyra, becoming a possum in a tree with Fallon and all that.

jessegirl said...

lallieb...agree about CH and Kristen, way back then. But what the f*ck did he look like? Dali? Without that ridiculous moustache he would have looked amazing? I can't believe CH and KS didn't both see The Pretty pretty easily.

Plus, just being in contact with him, well, let him laugh as he falls wonkily off the bed after giving the best god-damn imitation of dry humping on earth and no one else would do. When his body arches and he grabs the side of her ass...oh man, you've all seen it. Being in it?...well casting would be a no-brainer.
Edward had been born.

jessegirl said...

Monique...Team Jacob is going down, and soon. Edward f*cking Pattinson--er--is going to kick ass as well as grab it in Eclipse.
Team J. is going down, man, hard.
Eclipse, where Edward is just too overwhelming to do anything else but eclipse everyone in his path.

jessegirl said...

Nancy! *waves*

jessegirl said...

Nik...I got your point...yeah...Rob's undeniable star power would have exploded even without Edward or CH or anyone else. I've been there all along. Even in my grief-stricken state watching GOF I thought: Who the f*ck is that god-like kid playing Cedric? Whoa!

jessegirl said...

Belladonna...yeah, Robert shines, just f*cking SHINES!
We could name on one hand the few that shone that brightly before. There are no others now. None.

jessegirl said...

lallieb...He is unique and different and way more magnetic than George, Brad, Johnny, et al together. I agree with you that I don't want him 'to become the next big thing by Hollywood standards' and that's because I want him to be happy and I don't think that will do it.
Marilyn Monroe, James Dean, those few legends...while Robert's magnetism is at least as potent as theirs, I don't want that fate for him and I feel scared that we make those comparisons.
I only do it, as you do, to point out the fact that his so far above of anyone else's league and only a handful of other stars in the history of cinema ever reached it. He has, just by being himself, and that must not be touched.

jessegirl said...

Okay, I'm all alone. Just realized I'm talking to myself, a dozen comments all to myself. Is that some sort of dubious record.
The one day I was ready to play.

Nancy said...

Wow, so many ideas here.

Hi Jesse, Lallieb and Nik. fantastic remarks as always.

I love Rob and support him so much as we all do. I totally didn't notice Taylor at all. Just Rob and Oprah. This saga would be totally lost without Rob. Kristen and Catherine saw that immediately. And thank God they did. I noticed Rob in Goblet of Fire right away and was so sorry he was killed off as I knew he would be, since I knew the books and story. Sorry ladies, HP and Twilight fan here.

Now I'm watching Rob's movie roles and trying to follow them. Thanks to this site, I can find his TV interviews and new movies he's signed up for. Love him on Ellen and it's happening again, Yahoo....

Just maybe he'll finally get an Oscar nom for WFE... It could happen, Right?! I just want him to get one so badly. (its one of my wishes) Ok, everyone, think Rob getting an Oscar and he will get one please. Its called the "Law of Attraction". It really works too.

@belladonna, Rob is a Taurus with a Cancer Moon conjunct his Ascendent from the 12th house. (If I have his time of birth right as 8:34 am London) *** his rising sign and moon hit my Sun dead on!!! That's why I'm Robsessed! Haha. Couldn't be helped.

Robs Moon is 10 Cancer, rising sign, 14 Cancer. He's a total home body emotionally. But he tries to hide it. Cancer is noted for showing all their emotions on their faces, (which Rob does very well) Right?!

Nancy...Rob's Sun and my Moon are the same. Always an indication of attraction. Plus my Sun--Scorpio--is water, like his ascendant and moon and that elemental commonality means shared understanding.

jessegirl said...

Belladonna...
A little bit of knowledge might not be a good thing, and, I'm no expert, just interested.

To me, the elements of the signs are really important. Fire=intuition, creativity;
Water=feeling, emotion, passion;
Air=intellect, thought;
Earth=physicality, senses.

Robert: Just his personal planets:

Sun=Taurus (earth);
Ascendant=Cancer (water);
Moon=Cancer (water);
Mercury=Taurus (earth);
Venus=Gemini (air);
Mars=Capricorn (earth).

I'll make another post to explain a bit.

jessegirl said...

Sun: Sense of individuality, radiant inner self, attunement of soul, essential values, with the urge to be and create. It is how one is and how one perceives life.

Ascendant: That is, the sign that was rising at the moment you were born. As Greene says, 'it is how you express yourself to the world. It's you showing yourself to the world outside.' She uses the metaphor of a house. The ascendant is like the door to the house and it could be very different than what you see when you go inside the house. Some astrologers use words like 'mask' for the ascendant, or talk about how it is a buffer between the world and your private self. It's your 'party' and social self and many people will only know that until they really get to know you.
That said, it is not a cheat or a false part of yourself, but it could hide a very different 'you'.

Moon: The subconscious, in predisposition and comfort. How you react and how you feel at home. Self-image. The urge to feel inner support. Domestic and emotional security.
It is how one reacts, based on subconscious predisposition.

IMHO these three, Sun, Moon and Ascendant, are the most important in determining a person's psychological tendencies.

jessegirl said...

Robert's big three:
Taurus Sun:
You know this Belladonna. The physical, down to earth sign. Very sensual, and sexy in a physical way. Artistic, the singers and musicians of the zodiac. Also, the builders, anything from houses, banks to careers. This is where our boy gets his groundedness from and why I'm not too worried about him. He has a head on his shoulders. (A gorgeous head on...okay, couldn't help myself)
There's lots more, just check a good astrology book.

jessegirl said...

Moon and Ascendant
are both Cancer, one of the feeling water signs. While the rising sign (ascendant) is the way Rob presents himself to the world, in his case it's the same as his moon, which is the subliminal place he feels comfortable.
That gives him vulnerabililty.

Let's take a look at Cancer, your moon. Cancer, the crab, so sensitive s/he scuttles sideways to avoid confrontation, has, however, the instinct to nurture and protect and shows great empathy in that regard. Cancer is reserved in order to protect her/himself, is very moody. Cancer loves security, the familiar, and continuity with the past, history. There's a need to be rooted to home, even if a Cancer wanders, s/he needs to know there's a home to go to. Cancers need to be needed. Apparently they have cycles: they need to be hidden while regenerating, or they are too vulnerable. Also, Cancers have a wicked sense of humour, can come across as 'loony' (lunatic, lunar, etc. from the Latin for moon).

Robert certainly has that humour. Remember, his ascendant is Cancer as well as his moon, which tells me a lot about him and how he's been handling interviews. His vulnerablility and sensitivity, as well as his zany sense of humour really comes across, partly because it is his ascendant. And for all those on Robsessed who say he's strong and grounded--yeah, Taurus--it's true, but he can also be easily hurt, wounded. That's why I'm so protective of him. I can't bear to see him hurt.

Belladonna said...

@jessegirl, you said: elemental commonality means shared understanding... and you do seem to share that understanding with Robert here.
You can see that he doesn't crave the spotlight or the flash, but has the creative drive that isn't a choice as much as his personal make up. I appreciate you taking the time with this. I don't know much about this myself, but just sharing a birth day gives me a little insight into his life. He was raised a Roman Catholic as was I and that date has special significance in a couple of historically powerful ways and is celebrated around the globe this year especially by this religion. This would hardly be a secret to him.

jessegirl said...

The rest of the personal planets:

Mercury: Communication, conscious, i.e. the rational and logical mind. The urge to express oneself through speech, and the need to connect to others. It is how one communicates and thinks.

Venus: Urge to love and to socialize, to express affections and pleasure, to feel close to another, to feel harmony and to give emotionally. Sharing. How one expresses affection, feels appreciated and gives of oneself.

Mars: The will toward action, initiative, drive. Self-assertive and aggressive urges, sex urge, urge to act. Need to achieve desires, for physical and sexual excitement. How one asserts oneself and expresses desires. Now some books put the sexual in Venus, the planet of all relating to people.

Belladonna said...

Thanks Jesse: I'll be looking for insightful comments here again.

jessegirl said...

The rest of the personal planets:
Mercury=Taurus. Again, that physical, salt of the earth quality, that physicality which makes him so sensual--duh--and is so real. Very practical also.

Venus=Gemini, which is an air sign and a deviation from the rest of the chart. Geminis are the social butterflies of the zodiac. They flit from flower to flower, enjoying the nectar at each but bored if they stay too long. That means, in relationships, they can be fickle, not good for a husband. However, with Rob's overriding Taurus--the loyal, devoted sign--and Cancer--the sensitive, nurturing one--going strictly by his chart he could 'play the field' and when he's found the right one, settle down very happily and make an excellent husband and father.
Geminis are also the brilliant thinkers of the zodiac.

Mars=Capricorn. Okay, next to Scorpio, Capricorn is considered the strongest sign of the zodiac. This is yet another earth sign and is ambitious, sometimes to the point of ruthlessness. For all his vulnerable and zany sensitivity, all his sweetness, Rob would have a really hard streak, determined. Career-wise he would be focused on his goal. This is good, esp. in his industry.

jessegirl said...

Belladonna...still there? By the way it is 3:33 am where I am--insomnia is mine--
I'm having trouble getting these comments published now. Some glitch. One more. Be patient.

One thing about every sign. Every sign has its good side and its bad side. Every sign has strengths and weaknesses. Every sign has the potential for good or evil. Every one is beautiful and has an ugly shadow side too. Every sign. None is better or worse than any other. Each can and should learn from the other and each has a unique gift for the world.

Belladonna...not sure what May 13 means to Catholics. Care to elaborate?

I just touched on Rob's chart but it is enough for me to get a feel for him. Scorpio is also a water sign.
Rob is so natural and honest (Taurus), yet secretive and hidden, deflecting with jokes and keeping people off balance when they threaten him (all that Cancer).

Have fun!

Oh, and for all of you reading this, it's only my take on his natal chart, and I can imagine a professional astrologer would go...Gaaahh.I'm strictly an amateur.

The little bit I touched on, I think, explains so much. Everyone knew Rob was a Taurus, but once I knew his moon and ascendant were both Cancer, his interviews made so much more sense to me. The interplay between the Taurus and Cancer is so very evident.

His Cancer will scuttle away, with humour, if someone asks him the Kristen question. If they ask again, his bull headed Taurus--the bull--will give them a swift kick in the ass. And, he won't budge. Thank god. He'll have a big stubborn streak and do it so beautifully and soulfully sing so you sigh with longing.
Watch out world, is all I have to say! Go, team Robert!

To everyone I've heard gushing about Taylor in New Moon, I've asked this: Did you even notice him in Twilight? How can you say you're an honest to God fan of someone if the only thing that draws you to them is muscles? True, he has a much bigger part in NM, but even my daughter cringes at his parts in Twilight.

That's one of the major differences between the two actors. Whether portraying a dork, a paralyzed pilot, a confused painter, or loyal best friend, Rob has stage presence-something Roger Ebert noted in his RM review. Rob isn't someone you can ignore. And I think he's beginning to really understand that, which is probably why he treasures those times when people have enough self possession to actually leave him alone when they spot him.

Someone mentioned on another thread awhile ago that compared Kristen's and Rob's methods of interviews: Rob's constant chattering about trivial things is actually a very good, very practiced way of remaining private. He gives you little tidbits, enough to glean his interests and personality, but there must be so much more to him that inspires such loyalty and respect from his friends and ex-girlfriends (none of whom have run to the rags with exclusives).

I totally understand Chris Weitz's comments about just sitting with Rob and talking with him over a beer in a pub.

Probably didn't make much sense with that last stringing post, but sitting up in bed next to a snoring spouse can lend to disjointedness.

Jesse, and I will add to what you said above ('One thing about every sign.... each has a unique gift for the world.'): although we may have tendencies and patterns from whatever it is when we are born--energy radiated from where the stars and planets are for that time and place, and/or G-d's choosing for a soul to come down at that specifc time and place, and/or the soul choosing to come at that time and place, etc.-- they are tendencies, and some are challenges to become overcome, some are gifts to use to overcome challenges.

I shudder to think how they can get such a work into a film wthout missing out on crucial stuff or messing up. Who is John Galt, indeed.

I went to the IMDB site and found a posting with suggestions for actors for AS; i wanted to comment on it but too many hoops that I don't trust (such as giving a credit card even though supposedly no fee). Cate Blanchett for Dagney is excellent as are a few of the others suggested, but the person proposes Daniel Craig for Reardon and I think he would be right for John Galt. You need ruggedly handsome manliness in mid to late 30s for Galt. That's Craig, to me.

Solas...yes some are gifts and some are challenges. Also, often the thing that is one's 'curse' is also one's gift--two sides of a coin--or one's weakness might be something that can also be one's strength.

Oh, just have to share this story with you all......My friend was gushing about the attributes of ROB(like we do!) to her husband. He, obviously a bit insecure retorted "I bet he is really SMALL in certain departments!"(that being the very edited version)Whereby my friend blurted out "WHO CARES, have you SEEN his fingers?" (um, sharp intake of breath.) I think her hubby was a bit shocked. Sorry, mate you had better get used to it, coz that is the overpowering and uncontrollable effect that this guy has on us unsuspecting women!!!!!sigh.

This thread is officially dead, so probably no one will see this, but just want to say from my 2nd comment about the finger porn it evolved into a great exchange including the information about Rob's astronomic sun/moon signs. Hugs to all.
