*Gasp* I'd never thought I'd see a screencap of Taycob on Robsessed. LOL

I really loved everything in this trailer, except for BDH (I really tried but she's not looking vicious enough). The vamps coming out the water gives me chills. Rob is great (dur) and I love the fight scenes! And finally we get to see some angry Taycob like in the book!

And I just realized what scene "Its starting" comes from. That's when Ed is listening to the battle happening and retelling it to Bella! I'm so smart!

Trina, that's a good question. When I watched the the TV spot, I thought it was Jasper doing it, but now that I look at the screen caps I have no idea who it is. I think it must be one of the newborns, it doesn't make any sense for one of the Cullens to be jumping over the wolves.

FML!! RunningRobward!!!

This day was amazing. The new clip/trailer looks awesome.

Can. Not. Wait.

nikola6 said...

Hmmm...I dunno. He don't look like no 17 year old to me. He looks like a man.

And I know a lot didn't like his
'look' in NM. But I really think that choice (and it was HIS) had more to do with what his character was going through. Edward suffered in that story and it showed. He wasn't suppose to look like a dreamboat. He was suppose to look like a man who wanted to die. And he did.

If you'll recall, the early scenes where he was sauntering across that parking lot and in the classroom, he looked just fine. And at the end too when he proposed to Bella. And so many hated that tweed suit and I couldn't figure out why. He killed me with that performance and I could have cared less what he was wearing.

Just the other day I wrote that I wondered if Rob ever thinks his female audience could give a shit what he's doing up on that screen as an actor, just so long as he looks 'hot'.

I think for a lot in this fandom...this is true. Just another approach to it all, I guess. Not a crime.

sarsaparilla said...

I liked his look in NM then in Twi,he looks like him , what I mean is in Twilght he looks all fake and unreal( it is a fantasy , so he can look unreal). In NM I felt he got the real Edward cullen ,he had freedom to move about and act in whatever footage he got.And the suit which no one liked, I loved it.

well everyone hated his at lease most of them i like the long coat that he had on when he came to meet bella in the meadow also ashley greene and xavier samuel are going to spain and rob is working expect the baftia next year

Capitu Santiago said...

Aww, who said 'MoBS'? I just read the last chapter and I'm still laughing.
Gin's Bella is f*ng hilarious! I love her.
And I'm kinda sick of man-whore to death Edwards and virgin Bellas in ffs.
This Bella has some 'experience' too, thank G*, and she knows what she wants and how to get it. And Edward loves it...

=)

nikola6 said...

evangaline...

I loved that long coat he wore in the meadow scene too. In that, he most definitely looked like a man from the early years of the 20th century. Which is how I think of him; a man from the Edwardian era masquarading as a 21st century teenager.

I'm kinda hoping that one day, Rob will show up at the Oscars in something like that. With his height, he could pull that look off magnificently.

A little bit of scruff. Some sex hair. Holy Mother!!!

He'd look old fashioned yet modern at the same time. Which I believe is what they call...timeless.

Capitu Santiago said...

One more thing: am I the only one crying like a baby because MOTU is gonna have only one more chapter?
GAH! How am I gonna do without 50?
I don't want it to end. EVER!
:´(

nikola6 said...

Capitu...

Have you ever read "Laid Bare" or "Edward Wallbanger?"

Not a virgin Bella in sight in either one.

The sex in Laid Bare is amongst the hottest I've ever read. But they need each other so desperately in that story, that it's not vulger. It is earth shattering sex. It's gorgeous.

As for Wallbanger...
I've just started it and it is fall down on the floor hilarious.

If you haven't read them, give 'em a try.

nikola6 said...

No Capitu...

Were all bawling.

I've been thinking that she was getting bored with it, but dammit, there is still so much story left and how she's gonna wrap it all up in one chapter, is beyond me.

Someone said she's gonna do an epilouge, so I guess that will have to suffice.

Fifty is my favorite FF Edward EVER! Man. I'm gonna miss him.

Capitu Santiago said...

Hi, Nikola!
Yeah, I'm reading Wallbanger, too. I love it. It is hot and hilarious, though it seriously need to be updated!!!
I tried 'Laid Bare', but it did not get me, I don't know why. Maybe I should give it another try.
No, I mean it. I will. I need something strong to keep my sanity know that MOTU and soon 'The Univ. of Ed Masen' are ending...
I feel like a widow!
I might need a drink...
=/

nikola6 said...

Capitu...

In Laid Bare, the fact that she's experienced doesn't bother him that much. He's thrilled that because of her sexual hunger...if ever there was a creature made for him, it was her.

Course, he now doesn't ever want her with another man again and territorial monster that he is, that is perfectly understandable.

But he is the virgin here who's having all of these feelings unleashed, because of her. And man, they are a tidal wave of feelings. He also drinks her blood when they mate and she loves it. This thing is so PRIMAL! You just gotta read it.

I'm surprised there aren't more recs for this one.

Capitu Santiago said...

I do hope she will write an epilogue. Or a few...
There are so many things still to happen!
Um, btw Nikola, don't you think Rose might want some tips on kinky fuckery?... It would be awesome, if Icy came with something like that...

nikola6 said...

Yeah. Give it another try.

In fact. I think I'm gonna log off and go read some.

nikola6 said...

Just saw your post. Don't go yet. I'll answer.

Capitu Santiago said...

Um, now I remember why I did not like 'Laid Bare' that much... I prefer when the fic is all human.
But I'll give this one a second chance... =)

And ooooh did you read "I'll be your lover too"? It is from the same author of 'High Anxiety' (which, btw, I LOVE) and it has the HOTTEST (seriously, the hottest!) threesome... in EPOV! I read those chapters 20 times and every time I had to do my laundry... °giggles°

nikola6 said...

This is what I still think needs to be addressed...

* we still haven't dealt completely with his 'touching' issues.

* Rose now knows how their relationship began and Edward's going to have a problem here because he's VERY private about this. His family doesn't know about his lifestyle and Rose is with his brother. It's gonna come out.

* What happened with Echo Charlie?

* What was Edward referring to on the phone? He was telling someone to put something or someone somewhere

* And what of Lauren? Is there more story there?

* And is Bella pregnant? Every time they had sex (if her birth control wasn't in effect), he used protection. EVERY TIME! Except once. The night they used the spreader. And because she is mirroring canon so closely, I wondered if we would get an 'oops' baby.

Yeah. Lots of story left here. I personally think this could go a 100 chapters or more. But I think she's pretty much done with it. It's gone on far longer than she originally planned.

Hopefully the epilouge will give us closure.

nikola6 said...

I prefer all human too, but this one is a little different.

Edward has a defect which gives this one a different spin.

It takes a couple of chapters to get going.

Capitu Santiago said...

Nikola, you forgot Mrs. Robinson!
Bella needs to kick that pedophile's ass! Don't you think?

I don't remember if they did not use the condom this time... hum...
And Gawd! I want to see them in the new house ~ in the new playroom...
I loved him in the playroom sans his alter ego. He was so damn hot!
It is amazing how Icy wrote this story: he went from 'fucking hard' only to making love (oh, and fucking hard too, sometimes, why not? Totally understandable... :) And the way he slowly showed himself, so vulnerable... so adorable.
Damn! I love Fifty!!

Capitu Santiago said...

Yeah... I agree that Icy should be tired and maybe wanting a break... or maybe with another story on her head °fingers crossed°
She was still writing 'Safe Haven' when she started writing MOTU...
Gawd, I hope she will come up with another great story...
I'll still miss 50 to death, though. :(

nikola6 said...

Yeah. I kinda forgot about Mrs. Robinson. She seems to have kind of dropped that.

The thing that I loved about this is, just like in the books, Bella changed Edward so profoundly. His very nature.

From the moment he grabbed her in that elevator and kissed her for the first time with...'fuck the rules' he began his surrender to her. She didn't have a submissive bone in her body and he didn't care. He loved her and because of that love, he changed.

I think that this author took the premise of sexual domination and submission and took it even further than other stories dealing with it. She made it better.

And I'll give that "I'll Be Your Lover Too" a look.

And yes, he did forget the protection that night. And since she was so meticulous in not ever forgetting it before and as in control as Edward ALWAYS is (about everything...even in the throes of passion), for me THAT stood out like a flashing neon light.

I just figured he was so excited and carried away with that spreader, that he protection was the last thing on his mind. LOL!

Capitu Santiago said...

Nikola, I have to wake up in 5 hours... so I need to turn this machine off.
Loved talking to you. We could all be called "50's widows"... um, maybe not.
Give "I'll be your lover too" a try. You won't regret it. I love that Edward a lot, too. And Bella is not virgin, thanks G*
Oh boy, now I'm thiking on that threesome and I might not fall asleep that easily... =)

GiGi said...

Thanks ladies!

nikola6 said...

Well. I'm gonna have to disagree with you there evangaline. I don't believe that Rob will be nominated for anything with Remember Me. Yeah, he won over a few critics and some non-Twilight fans with his performance, but because of the poor box office showing and overall critical drubbing, the film has been perceived as a failure and by next awards season, it will be pretty much forgotten. Although I think it's going to do very well on dvd (where it will find an even bigger audience and receive even better reviews than upon it's theatrical release) and I also think that as the years pass, this film will be revisited and will be seen in a better light. If nothing else, it will be remembered as the first film in which a fictional character died at the WTC on September 11, 2001 and THAT is significant. This film opened the door for other fictional stories to now be told about that unimaginable day. Some film had to be the first and it just happened to be this one. Yeah. Rob is the first actor to portray a fictional character who died there on that day. And that is something. It's important even. And I dunno. Who knows? If enough voting actors see this on dvd, maybe something in the way of acknowledgement could come it's way. I certainly thought that Pierce Brosnan's performance was worthy of recognition.

I think there is a very good possibility that Bel Ami could receive some recognition at award time. That is, if it gets it's limited release in December (in order to qualify for the award season), before going into wide release early next year. But I wouldn't look for a nomination for Rob here either. Unless he gives a performance that knocks it out of the park. With now ten nominees for Best Picture, if the film is great, it's got a shot. Also in catagories such as; costume design, art direction, musical score and perhaps, cinematography and adapted screenplay AND Kristen Scott Thomas for supporting actress. But not for Rob...not yet. And that's okay. If this film gets any kind of 'legitimate' award recognition, that only bodes well for Rob and his standing in the industry. He stars in an Oscar nominated Best Picture even if he himself does not receive a nomination? It's all good.
And...if he really is good in this, there is the possibility of a Golden Globe nomination as they nominate 10 performances, half in drama and half in comedy.

The film to watch for is...Water For Elephants. He received some critical acclaim for Remember Me and if he gets some more for Bel Ami, then it's like he's building, with each performance, towards that personal recognition and showing that he's much more than just a pop cultural icon with Twilight.

If WFE delivers, it could walk off with a slew of nominations, including, possibly, a first one for Rob. The story and characters are there. They just gotta deliver it.

And that's my take. Doesn't make me right.

jessegirl said...

Nik,
Actually haven't read this thread yet; it's too late and I've got to get to bed. However, regarding Oscar. I wrote an article which was posted on the Unofficial Remember Me website today: at
www.rememberme-film.com
That's MY take on it. I'd love it if people here would go over there and read it.

Hopefully I'll get to this thread tomorrow but I'm tapped out now.

Anyway, whatever award gravitas the other actors have on/in WTE and BA, we already have Oscar worthy--even if no one believes it'll ever happen--performances in Remember Me.
I'm sure Rob will be great in the other films too, but I'm sick of everyone, including here, just dismissing RM.

GiGi said...

@Capitu: Yes, I am devistated that MoTU is ending. I am sorta begging Icy to do a sequel. Maybe you gals can do the same and maybe she'll do one. Something like 5 or 7 years out and see what kind of a dad fifty is. And him wanting to slip back into the "dom" mode. that would be so great!

nikola6 said...

I hear you jessegirl...

I thought he and that film were just wonderful. With an economy of emotion it still managed to break your heart. And I think the failure of it -in part- was the damn misguided and knee jerk reactions from the critics. Also, it had the misfortune to open against Alice In Wonderland. But as I said, I think that as the years pass this filmed will thought of more highly than when it was first released. Some films are that way. Some need distance, perspective before they can really be understood and appreciated.

HeneciaD said...

can I scream am I allowed ohh forget you cant make me stop Love angry edward really love

nikola6 said...

LovesRob...

I think it is essential to his full emotional healing that Fifty does become a father. He needs to give a child all of the love that was denied him. And he needs to see a mother in love with her child as Bella would be, with his.

He also thinks he isn't good. That at his core, he is a bad person. But if he could see his own child. Something pure and innocent and good, that he helped to make, that came from him, could that not help him to perhaps look at himself in a different light? Meaning, how could something so good (his pure and innocent baby) come from something so bad (himself)? Wouldn't he have to maybe admit, there must be something good in him if he could create something that pure and innocent and...good?

Although knowing Fifty, he'd say it was all because of Bella and he'd probably still find a way to loathe himself.

Such a complex and heartbreaking character. And I swear, this woman is a better writer than Stephenie Meyer. No question.

I've never written a review for a fic before. I know. That's not very nice. But I wrote one to her. And I told her just that...that this was the best fan-fic Edward I've ever read and that she was a better writer than Meyer.

And I just thought of something. Something about Mrs. Robinson. Earlier I was listing things that I felt still needed to be addressed in this story and I just thought of another one...

Edward says that Irina helped him. That without her, he might have gone mad. How did she help him? She hasn't really gone into depth there.
I assumed that in allowing Edward to inflict pain on others, in some sort of very sick way, that was a catharsis for him. Inflicting pain that was inflicted on him. But...why did Irina hurt him? Why did he need more pain inflicted on him? He'd had enough, hadn't he? And this idea of pain associated with sex? And all of his subs (including Bella) were small brunettes like his mother? And even his therapy with Dr.Banner. We've barely even scratched the surface there.

Oh yeah. There is so much story to tell here. I'm tempted to go write another review telling her this and pointing out all of these unresolved plotlines. And if she wants to take a break from this, fine. Take as long as you want. But do not abandon this story. The audience for it is just too great and I'm guessing if she even took a six month break and then picked it up again, we'd all be back.

Hell. People waited a full year in between Twilight books and they're gonna be waiting a year and a half between Eclipse and Breaking Dawn.

A devoted audience will wait.

But I seriously doubt she even reads these reviews. There's just too many of them. But I'll tell ya, if she abandons this and leaves alot of loose threads hanging, I doubt I'll ever invest in another story of hers again. And I'd tell her that too.

HeneciaD said...

@nik ITA what you said about fifty and motu characters, the way that she write it is really good when I read it I feel myself like I am in that story

nikola6 said...

I just wouldn't trust her with my emotions again. And not that she'd have to resolve it to my liking. Of course not. It's her story. But she's got to resolve it.

And how can she with just one more chapter? There's just too much story left here to tell.

I guess it's gonna have to be one hell of an epilouge. But even if it, it's still gonna be a short change. A wrap up. And this story and the massive and devoted audience it has, deserves better than that.

nikola6 said...

And I know some might say...

Nik, it's just a fan-fic, let it go.
But that's hard for me because I tend to emotionally invest in characters. And she started this. She has woven this deep and emotionally complex character and written what, 86 chapters about him, to then just quickly wrap it up because she's bored or tired of it? Nope. Sorry. You can't that ask that of an audience and then expect them to come back for more with something else that interests her. A writer has to take responsibility for the journey she is taking her audience on. At least a writer who expects her audience to come back to her.

And maybe she doesn't. Maybe she's done with fan-fic. Frankly, I think she's good enough to be writing professionally. Of course, that would require some disipline and abandoning a character and leaving an audience dangling, wouldn't be showing much of that.

But...until I see that epilouge, I'll give her the benefit of the doubt that she'll end this right.

tgill said...

@nik I'm with you I'll be bawling like a baby when MOTU ends. How is she going to resolve this in just one chapter there are so many unanswered question.

@jessegirl I've just read your post and also Bries sociology paper that was linked on the blog. . I agree that I think the movie is just about flawless. I dragged my husband to it, he likes very few movies, he loved it and recommended it to lots of people. My 14yr old insisted that I bring him and he thought it was brilliant, in fact that was the time that I ended up in tears, sitting beside my son and watching someones child die and thinking of all the possibilities that died with him and, by association, the possibilities of everyone who died that day.
It's just tragic that the movie was panned as a way of getting back at Rob and also by association Twilight. I agree that time and distance will lend perspective, unfortunately I agree with Nik that however much it may deserve it it will not be nominated for any awards.

i cant work out a comment above about 'remember me'...it cost 16 million to make- it has taken around 50 million worldwide. how is that not a successful small film???

jmm4832 said...

Remember Me may not have been officially labeled as a success but it wasn't a failure either. I think it was a good stepping stone for Rob's career.

sarsaparilla said...

I read Motu recently, it was a belivevable story because of the depth at which the writer went with the character, there are so many questions left to be answered as mentioned in the comments,I agree only on chapter will not be able to resolve all the issues.

Also, Bella did take an injection as a contraceptive measure six days before that why probably they did not use protection last time the had intercourse, so the chance of bella being pregnant is slim.

Icy should not abandon the story it needs to be explained as to why Edward is emotionally wound up to the extend he tortures the person he apparently loves. It is the best story there in.

Thnks to Kate , Gozde and Kat for putting these screen caps.

Good morning all. To join the voices grieving for MotU ending in just one more chapter, I can only utter expletives. &%$(@#%$!!!!!!

There is so much left to share. My heart is broken to think in one chapter all loose ends will be collected and explained away.

Like you, nik, I would love to see Fifty as a father for all the emotional reasons you listed. If that can be done in an epilogue so be it, but it should be done.

This is my favorite ff and the depth of character Icy skillfully portrayed deserves an exemplary ending. I question that can be accomplished in one chapter, unless it's pretty damn lengthy...like a three hour read or more.

I loved the comments here from in the wee hours about this incredible story. I know this is Rob's site and I do so adore him, but this ff extends into that adoration and Rob's character lends so much to any story that I feel discussing it is justifiable.

I don't envy Icy her daunting job to end this piece. She is a better writer than SM and I know we'll be treated to one amazing last chapter. I would, however, beg her for a few more chapters. I know her situation with the new job requires the ultimate of commitment, but her fans here have lives that have been moved because of the words she wrote. It would be a sacrifice of precious time to meet that expectation, and we all know she can write and weave a story like few others can.

Let's hope she is moved by our pleas. If I were wealthy and had nik's knowledge of Hollywood, I'd make this into a movie myself and guess who would be cast as Edward?

AP said...

@jessegirl: I would never dismiss RM. It may be gone from many screens but it's not forgotten. It won't be up for award consideration primarily because of the critical reaction about the 'controversial' ending.Beyond anyone's control.

I'm excited for WFE because Rob's role is more demanding, I think - but am also awaiting June 22...:)

nikola6 said...

That was beautiful what you wrote Jessegirl. And you were so spot on.
I know this film has touched people
(myself included), in ways that a movie rarely does these days.

It is not a failure for me and for those who love this film. But in the PERCEPTION of the world at large, yes, it is.

When it is talked about or written about in the pop culture, you'll hear about the box office failure of it, and an 8 million opening weekend and a 50 million worldwide gross is considered a failure even with that small budget because with the hottest young actor in the world starring in it, so much more was expected from it AND yes, it made more than Hurt Locker, but that film was universally critically praised and therefore no matter what it made, is viewed as a success. I'm not saying that's fair or right. But that is the PERCEPTION. And perception is more important than truth. Well. It's not. But perception sways and influences people more than truth. AND you'll hear about the exploitive nature of the film. Which is what really blew my mind with the critics. They're suppose to the pros here. Those that understand the language of film and so many of them missed it completely.

But as I said, I believe this film will be seen, 'perceived' differently as time passes and in the shorterm? I think it's going to do exceptionally well on dvd and it I'm guessing the dvd will receive better reviews that the film did in March. Why? Because the reviews always seem to improve when a critic takes a second look at a film. Why again? Because you ALWAYS SEE MORE the second time around.

I think it should be a requirement that before any critic is allowed to write one word of praise or criticisim for a film, that they MUST view that film twice.

But...great job there jessegirl. Really proud of you.

nikola6 said...

Also...

With Hurt Locker, there wasn't a big star anywhere in that film.

There were no expectations with Hurt Locker. It came out of the blue. But because of Rob's presence, alot (in terms of box office success) was expected with Remember Me. At least a 20 million opening inching towards a 100 million gross at the U.S Box Office. And that didn't happen.

Over on that Pop Sugar thread, interestingly, I brought this up. Where was Robert Pattinson's audience -this MASSIVE presence on the internet- for this film?
