A Taster Of What We Have To Look Forward To On Robert Pattinson's "Remember Me" DVD Commentary

A Taster Of What We Have To Look Forward To On Robert Pattinson's "Remember Me" DVD Commentary

Photobucket

While Robert Pattinson spends his June promoting "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," Summit Entertainment is working its cross-pollination magic by pushing "Remember Me" out on DVD.

Due June 22, the romantic drama starring Pattinson and "Lost" blond Emilie de Ravin touts a major bonus feature -- a cast commentary track in which the heartthrob drops serious pearls about his filming experience.

Taking the lead for our favorite factoid: Pattinson's dirty journaling. Playing the broody Tyler, the actor spent most of the film scrawling mysteriously in a leather-bound notebook. "On set I kept on going up to Rob and saying, 'You've got to write in your journal, mate,'" producer Nick Osbourne said.

Said Pattinson: "I remember writing all these kind of pornographic poems, whenever there was a close-up on it. Horrible, horrible things in bold capital letters." (Kate:{giggle})

We can only hope a man from Nantucket was involved.

Other amazing insights into Rob's soul include ...

His sex scene was scary: Pattinson was "terrified" during his boom-boom moment with De Ravin. More so, he was sympathetic to the director of photography, "who had to look deep into my ... crack for a long time." (Kate: Next time that is part of a film, can I apply for the job please!)

His mother was appalled at the thought of a tattoo: Pattinson's character has his brother's name inked on his left pec as a memorial. When his mom saw it in the "Remember Me" trailer, she called him immediately. "I was like, 'Really, do you think I tattooed 'Michael' on my chest?" (Kate: Awwww Mum's will always worry about their babies!)

Fans take note -- when in Los Angeles, he reads scripts in a fast-food restaurant parking lot: "I was in an In 'N Out burger car park where I used to always read scripts. ... I realized I liked the character Tyler in the first four pages." Perhaps he celebrated with a Double-Double.

He's not shy about his frustrations with the paparazzi: As the film's New York shoot was plagued with photogs, almost every scene in the "Remember Me" commentary comes with some anecdote about the invasive shutterbugs. "They showed absolutely no respect for anything," Pattinson remarks.

Big dramatic fight scenes (like in, um, "Eclipse") bore him: Pattinson gets roughed up by costar Chris Cooper in the film, and loved every minute of it. "It's probably the most fun I've ever had in a scene," he says of being slammed against the hood of a car. "Normally the fights are so choreographed, it makes it boring."

Rob does a mean Barney Gumble: Pattinson randomly bursts out in an impression of resident derelict Barney from "The Simpsons" on the commentary track. And it's actually pretty spot on.

Dayum.

But, am I the only one that thinks Rob was being facetious about the poems??

AND concerned because he enjoyed the ass-kickin' part but was terrified of the sex scene w/Emilie???

Please don't take away my Robsessed card, though!!

angie-k said...

Gwen - Even if he is joking about the pornographic poems, it just shows what a wicked sense of humor he has. (I knew it!)

But he wasn't NAKED in the ass-kickin' scene...

Some male actors are uncomfortable with nude loves scenes. Especially if they haven't become involved with their female co-stars and have no intention of doing so. Especially if they're gentleman. Especially if they're shy by nature. Because you see, male actors have a difficulty that female actors do not; if they become sexually aroused, everyone knows it.

And when you put a man in this kind of situation; naked (with a naked female), with only a small scrap of material covering their genitals, for hours and hours of simulating sexual intercourse (that minute or two we saw on screen took them ALL DAY to shoot), that man is going to become aroused. If in fact he is attracted to females, which in fact I have heard that Robert Pattinson is. So...

Nekkid sex scenes are more difficult for the guy because they put him in a more vulnerable postition as he cannot hide his body's reaction. Girlies can. It's one of the few advantages we have over them. Also...

Some actresses are offended if an actor becomes aroused and some are offended if the actor does not. This is essentially a damned if he does, damed if he doesn't situation for the actor.

Unless he's a tool and tries to bed all of his leading ladies. Word on the street is that this particular description does not apply to Robert Pattinson.

Ergo...these kinds of scenes scare the holy shit out of him.

LOL @ angie!!! I KNEW someone would have to come and straighten me out. Thank you. ;)

Just finished watching the MTV Rob parts. HE IS SOOO LOVELY!!

Add me to Team Robward ShortHair. He looks sooooo much more confident without raking those long, lovely fingers through his hair. I hope he keeps this look for a while.

::sigh::

@ Nikola6 .... you don't have to defend Rob to me!! I get it; I get it. I guess my intended wicked sense of humor didn't come across. My apologies.

HeneciaD said...

@nik I think you made the most clear point about this I can understand why he is shy and he doesnt want that

RPLover said...

CAN. NOT. WAIT.

nikola6 said...

Oh Gwen...

I wasn't defending Rob at all. It's just that this subject has come up before and some have asked about the hows and the wheres and the whys of it. I didn't mean to offend you in anyway. If I did, I really do apologize. Also...

I'm operating on about 4 hrs. sleep in the last two days, so doesn't surprise me at if I missed something in your post. No apologies from you. Apologies from me.

Kimmie said...

I can't wait!! I also can't wait for the commentary, it's crazy that rob is really talented even in poetry.

nikola6 said...

Kimmie...

If you write song lyrics, then you're a poet as song lyrics are simply poetry set to music. And yes, he is multi-talented. I know that we laughed at that drawing of his, but in actually, it was very good. I think he really applied himself to surrealistic art while reseaching and filming Dali. Becausae is showed up in that little drawing.

Kimmie said...

@ nikola- yea, he truly brought his Dali , from all that deep research he did on him, some of it must have stayed with him.

P.s. You still have the Sam Bradley tickets or your friend is going to use them??

nikola6 said...

Yes Kimmie...

I've still got them and I'm not going to be able to go and I think my friends have got theirs, so...

If you'd like one (or six) they're available. And they're free as I did not pay for them. They were comped to me. Problem though. I don't have an e-mail for this blog and I've still got cold feet in trying to put a new one back up. How do I get these to you?

All I can think to do is go down to the box office and leave how ever many you need, in your name. Lemme know how many you'd like.

Cindygal said...

...guess what ladies,Tyler's Diary is up for sale!! Does it mean that whoever buys it will get a chance to read Rob's pornographic poems?

nikola6 said...

And I don't mean you'd have to say your actual name on this blog. I'd just leave them there in the name of Kimmie. Maybe I'll call over there and explain the situation and how would be the best way to do this. Why couldn't there be tickets sitting there in the name of...just Kimmie? I'll find out.

And these are for Tues. Jun. 22nd, Sam's opening night.

Kimmie said...

@ nikola- aww that sucks you can't go.

I understand about the email thing but you would have to get on that provides virus scans I think gmail does but for attachments.

Hmm as soon as I know how many I'll look for you around here. Thank you, I wish I could thank you in person.

Kimmie said...

Well just give the name... Dang I was going to say Kim. T

nikola6 said...

Cindygal...

Are you talking about the actual prop in the film? The one Rob wrote in himself? Actual film memorabilia? WoW! That would go for a small fortune. How much did the balloon drawing go for? This would bring in more than that. And if they really are doing it, I hope it's going for charity and not into Summit's already very lined pockets.

Or are these replicas? Oh please tell me that Summit isn't going to whore this film out too with cheap souvineers.

Cindygal said...

@Nik, i'm not sure. I read this at www.rememberme-film.com & its currently selling at $4 999!! I also hope it all goes to charity!

Cindygal said...

nikola6 said...

Oh. Well, that answers that question. At that price, this had better be actual film memorabilia.

How generous of Rob to let this go.
A lot of actors would not. And depending on how deep he went here, to let something like that go to the public, is...well...exposing yourself. Know what I mean?

Unless he was just farting around and writing random weirdness as the camera rolled.

jlsentangledweb said...

Nik, even if he was just writing random weirdness, it'd be like taking little glimpses into the random patterns of his mind. Can you picture it? words, doodles, questions, half formed answers, wtf moments, if I had the money, and IF it WAS actual film memorabilia, I'd buy it.

jlsentangledweb said...

I think the absolute LAST name he'd tattoo on his body would be Michael. Rob's more of a I♥Mum guy (but, something tells me that Rob's not much of a tattoo man).

Hope you’d all like to read articles I wrote about Remember Me. The ladies here didn't pick it up, although I offered.

Therefore, anyone here who would like to read it, it's at 3 well-known sites, under "Oscar and Remember Me":
www.rememberme-film.com (May 27), the originating site;
www.spunk-ransom.com (May 27)
www.robertpattinsonbrasil.com (May 28)

Also, speaking of the journal, I wrote an article about that on this site:
http://regardssurlefilmrememberme.blogspot.com The site posts in English as well as French, so that’s great. That article is “Tyler’s Journal”, June 6th post.
For anyone who likes RM this site, and www.rememberme-film.com are the places to go.

I'd like to know what you ladies think.
thx

Hi ladies, way off topic here.

I have found 2 more actors that have Rob's "finger porn"... hehe

Craig Ferguson and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. All 3 of them are British!
I DVR Craig every night and have "August Rush" DVD. It is fantastic

Does that tell us something? Wow love those hands. Just imagine.
