I have been avoiding set photos, but I could not resist Rob with Rosie. Too cute, can't wait to see this movie!
Why does the thought of this utterly beautiful, sweet, adorkable man rolling around and playing with an elephant make me want to melt at the sheer sweetness of it all?

just got back from tent city...so exciting - got pics with julia jones, charlie bewley and jackson rathboth. i took a pic with peter facanelli and billy burke but it didn't come out but i got pics of them too. i didn't bring my camera just my cell camera, what a moron i am.
so i only took pics didn't get autographs and jackson said so what do you want for me to sign and i said nothing just a pic and he said "no problem darlin" he was soooo sweet.

I'll never forget Rob saying that Elephants purr!!!! that's one of my fave sounds when my kitty purrs, I can't imagine an elephant doing it though.
The NB's got Charlie Newley's picture and autograph and they saw Jackson from a distance and Billy Burke and said he was HOTTTT. (I knew that) And RPG said she felt homeless having to charge her cell phone on a street light! (not sure how you do that)
Tomorrow night is the BIG EVENT - the Eclipse Premiere. I hope they get a pic of Rob.
I just thought of something...
If this sweet animal really is already taken with him as much as they're saying she is, imagine how much more she's going to love him at the end of the shoot? When animals get attached to us, we become part of their pack.
And if so, he's gonna have to ween himself out of her presence (although being an elephant, she's not going to forget him). But if he just walks away from her and never sees her again, she's going to feel abdandoned by him. And she'll suffer for it.
And we get atttached too and I'm guessing come the end of this shoot, he's gonna miss her too.
Who knows? Instead of another dog, they may end up with an elephant. Do cats and elephants get along?
Well. If Clooney can have a 300 lb. pot belly pig, why can't Pattinson have an elephant?

Was over visiting a friend this past weekend and she subscribes to all of these rags (which I rag on her about and she rolls her eyes at me which is why we've been friends since we were 8 years old. we give each other shit and then...were good). But I was leafing through one of them (what the hell. I didn't pay for it and I can't stop her from doing it) and there it was...the famous, idylic "love nest."
Just one hitch in the giddy up though. Where is the housing for security?
If his security is at such a level that Dean's presence is required on that set with him (the safest place in the world for him btw as they have their own stringent security) and apparently it is, as he's there, isn't he? Then it would violate even the most basic of protection codes to allow him to go home alone (or to her; a 95 lb. girl with a cat to protect them) to an isolated house by a body of water (that's access). No. Not how it works.
Anybody ever see The Bodyguard? Well, there was a lot of truth to that scenario. Not the dramatic narrative of the story, but rather, the way these security details set up shop.
Wherever Rob is living at the moment, you can bet that someone from his security detail (the relief man so that Dean can get a break) is nearby. VERY nearby (I mean, what's the point of having this scale of security if they can't get to you within a minute or so should something go...wrong). And in the shot of that house, there isn't another one anywhere in the vacinity. I know. It said it was a guesthouse on part of an estate. That's fine. But there would have to be additional housing no less than a minute away. And there's none.
And no, security would not be living in a one bedroom abode with him and perhaps a...roomate. With a cat.
Not in Rob's living space, but VERY nearby. And in that arial shot, I only saw one small isolated house and NOTHING nearby. And with it being a one bedroom, I assure you that his security is not sharing that bedroom with them, nor are they downstairs on the sofa. They've got their own housing...VERY near by.
He's not living in that little house. For one thing, with that arial shot, if he was living there, security (his home security) has been breached and they'd have to move him.
THAT'S how it works.
The ONLY reason that a famous person (or any person for that matter) has 24/7 security on them is...their lives have been threatened.
And even when we see papp shots of Rob out and about looking like he's on his own? He's not. Someone is near by. ALWAYS. Dean is what you call the front guy. The visible one. The one that everybody who follows him in photos recognizes (including someone trying to get near enough to him to harm him). But who don't we know? The rest of the detail. The rest who blend into the background. Because if we who follow his every move in the papp photos cannot recognize the rest of his detail...then neither can anyone else who is targeting him.
How do I know this? A very dear friend of mine ran security details for threatened stars several years ago.

And don't get freaked out by it. At least once in their careers, most stars have had their lives threatened.

Elephants are wild animals, and females live long lives among each other in their herds. They are not meant to be in captivity, alone, "trained" to perform (through fear and beatings)on movie sets. Elephants are often driven crazy by the abuse and abnormal lives being transported and kept sedentary - and they often lash out and kill in response.
Do we know Rosie's background? Know how she is treated? Do we trust the word of these "trainers" who use these animals to make money?
It's time to stop exploiting wild animals for the sake of entertainment, including making films with them. Period.
I hope Rob becomes educated about the sad lives of these animals and refuses such jobs in the future.

@RB: yes, we do know Tai's background and how she is treated. And why the story does focus on the ill-treatment of animals. Read a bit about Sara Gruen. Sorry you won't be seeing the film....
Things have come a very long way since the 1930's when this book/movie is set in regards to the humane treatment of animals.
It's nonsensical not to see this movie because the world is not a perfect place yet.
I won't go to circuses or zoos, but that's just me. I don't like looking at small aquariums or caged birds.
We have wild bunnies in our yard and I love bird-watching when I'm out there. But I'm not a vegetarian, so that just makes me human, with all my faults.
