Robert Pattinson talks World Cup

Although he’s not on Twitter, “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” star Robert Pattinson told Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson on Saturday he too was sucked into the international sporting event.

“I have to ask you, how are you doing this junket when England is playing USA?” Shaun asked Robert on Saturday as he promoted his upcoming film while the historic match up was taking place.

“Especially when they are drawing,” Robert chimed in, referring to the score at the time, which was 1-1.

“And if at the end, if the end comes and they’ve won then that’s the end of the junket,” a worried Robert said over a possible U.S. victory, although the game eventually ended a short while later in a draw.

“Are you a big fan?” Shaun asked Robert regarding soccer.

“Yeah. Is it the end of the match yet?” Robert asked, looking around at the crew. “Have they already lost? I would be so depressed!”

So much promo seems to be going on today, we seem to be getting a lot of Robert goodies!

Oh this was such a cute interview, and I love watching the world cup whenever I can, it's an exciting season.

And Robert looks great in this yellow/peach shirt, Yum Yum!

back to the world cup

read rob's last line. did he expect England to lose? Never doubt your country Rob.. even if Green does have butter fingers and Rooney is too emotional involved in the game =).. Thought it was a great game regardless

I'm excited for Germany tomorrow. One of my friends is watching the game with me. She is Australian, but her office bet that Germany would win and she put money on the table as well. Poor girl is so torn lol

wow with money on the table I bet she is torn lol

Yea her boss said it was Austria vs. Germany and she took his word for it. The same thing happened with my friend today she has joint citizenship in the US and England. As long as USA, Germany and Italy don't verse each other for awhile im a happy clam.

...@Steph I also love the Soccer World Cup season. I honestly thought England will win the match last night. About Rob doubting his own country, I also dont think my own country (South Africa) will ever win the World Cup...I always support any African team!

@Cindy

I am pretty sure I am the only American who is a die hard soccer/football fan lol. I also thought England would win. I have no idea what goes on in the American leagues I strictly follow Serie A, EPL and Bundesliga (german league), but for Rob to think the US lost to England was kind of funny.

I also support other teams beside the US and I understand the wanting to support any African team. My heritage is Italian and German so obviously they are teams I am rooting for. Mostly Germany though cuz I'm a huge Manuel Neuer fan (he's there keeper)

sorry I'm rambling. I could talk about soccer all day.

I was in line at the airport in Washington when England scored and all the crew of my British Airways flight screamed 'yes!'. Then they made an announcement that the Us was winning and everybody LOL
I hope to be able to see Italy's match on Monday, the only time I missed a game was in 2006 though and we won! :)

like i said usa, germany and italy. if any of those 3 countries win or place in the top 3 i will be happy. you can't predict who the winners are. all the players are equally gifted. Brazil is the favorite to win this year so every team should worry about them.

Hahaha I knew it! Quite a disappointing match yesterday but Algeria and Slovenia should be do-able. I hope. I'm supporting England almost as much as my own country. Also rooting for Spain, Portugal, Argentina and Brazil.
