David Slade is a totally different guy than Chris Weitz. He's more down to earth, more precise and Chris seems more emotional I think.
I'm glad that David Slade made Eclipse.
It is said that David Slade has done what Chris couldn't approach and what Catherine may not have even been aiming for.
Well... I have not seen Eclipse yet (I'm waiting until all the screaming little girls seen it a couple of times and calmed down, haha!) but although I certainly will love the movie as much as the other two, I'll probably miss Catherine's and Chris's mood and perception of the books.
David Slade said he tried to catch the same bluish, mysterious cold feeling as in Twilight, and the emotion in New Moon. So it will be interesting to see his version of the series. And although I have no doubt Bill Condon will do a fantastic job with BD, I had hoped that all directors would conclude the series together. It would be the ultimate end!
David Slade rocks! Eclipse was by far the best of the three movies.
I've said this maybe 100 times in the last three days. I am truly savoring the taste of my own words. I was a doubter. I was terrified of what David Slade would do to what is my favorite novel in The Saga. But, I can put it no other way than he knocked it out of the park. The performances he got out of Rob & Kristen and the rest of the cast were masterful. The tone of the film is perfect. The balance between the romance, which is and should be the core of the story, and the outside threats to it, is absolutely perfect.
Thank you, David Slade. You have truly earned your place of honor in the Twiverse.

I think its really cool that summit has got a different director in each time - it keeps the story alive and each director can bring his own style to it - Catherine - very much indie style director with a good romantic vision for the first film, Chris Weitz - old school - everything gorgeously framed and shot beautifully lit. so good for richness and textures of New Moon - David Slade = stylistically creative, great with getting the performance out of the actors and adding dark quality which Eclipse needed.
Bill Condon I really haven't seen much of his stuff except Dream Girls so we shall have to wait and see.
So glad reviews for Eclipse have been good and @Cheeky - ITA pocketsized!
thanks AP - will def try to see that and guys if anyone reads the UK Daily Mail articles today on-line - just to let you know that rag is one of the worst red tops for slander/false gossip - Don't believe most UK fans at London premiere were angry about Holy Trinity not being there - true fans know their committments - just some wannabes who want to get on the news kicked up a stink I think.

I felt Chris Weits articulated a passion for the story and the characters; David Slade expresses the filming/directing end of it, as a project, but not the love for it. Yet, his film really did end up being the best of the 3 IMNSHO. I wonder if NOT bieng emotionally involved, or at least NOT being in love with the story and characters, might give a director a different more critical eye that results in a more complete final product?
