Kate,

I won't mind if you send over Angry Rob!!

Loved Eclipse so much :))
Blubbed like a baby at the gold bed scene. Not only is Eclipse my fav Twi book but chapter 20 is too. I was worried that it wouldn't be right but hell... it was perfect and so emotional.

RTP_KJS_Lover said...

Is that a promise, Kate??? I would love you to send Angryward after me. :-P

My favorite scene? Too hard to choose. It's a tie between The LEG HITCH and The Meadow and The Proposal. When Edward pushes Bella's hair behind her ear and goes to kiss her neck in the meadow...and when he goes for IT on the Big Gold Bed and she is unbuttoning his shirt, and when he gets down on one knee, taking a deep breath and sounding soooo nervous and asks Bella to marry him...GAH!!!!!! *Deads*

*Whispering* I also love Japer. Not cheating, just appreciating.

Saw the movie for the 3rd time last night. In no particular order: In love with the marriage proposal scene, adore how emotional Edward got (great acting by Rob, imo) and of course the leg hitch scene. Glad they kept the line 'stop trying to take your clothes off Bella'. LOVE Billy Burke in his scenes, 'specially the look on his face when Bella graduates. Love that Bryce gave Victoria the child-like voice that she has in the book. Special effects with the be-heading etc of the vamps - wicked cool. And bottgom line - Edward is RIDICULOUSLY swoon-worthy in this one. Uh-MAZING!

:-P I'll threaten ye with Jacob next time!!! Would that work?? LOL

I think I'll be seeing it Sunday morning SOOOOOOOOO Excited!

MY FAV IS The Prososal scene!! it's so romantic and cute!! Edward was sayiNg tHAT on his era he would fancy her first, stole 1 or 2 kissses, ask permition to her father and than be on his knees ... OMG THAT WAS AMAZING!!!
tHE RING WAS beautiful! i dont know how ppl think it's ugly, no way!!
And i didnt like the leg hitch =\ it was so fast and there was so much zoom, i badly could see anything.

Jasper, Riley and Vctoria were perfect!! that was a good surprise!!

sorry my english, brazilian fan here =D

@kate LMAO jacop would work I think I would love to see angry Edward but not him

and the movie was great effects were so good but I am undecided about fav scene like CL I am between those scenes when she unbutton his shirt his asking for marriage when they were on the meadow all of them were so good and the scene when he smiles as bella come their house after her talk with dad about being virgin =)) that made me laugh

btw in this I love the chemistry between alice and jasper jackson is a good actor and I love peter too just sayin you know that my only one is rob

Loved it all, every minute. It was very well done and I liked that they didn't overdo the white make-up on the Cullens this time around.

Edward, almost tearful, as he proposes is so well done and romantic, it's my favorite scene. Rob is the best!

Nice job David Slade and kudos to everyone involved in the project! I was dazzled.
Thank you.

Loved loved the movie, best of three. Everyone got a chance to act. The movie had a blend of everything humour, romance, action. What can i say about Rob, wow that kid a so beautiful, all his emotions were showed on that face, proposal scene teared me up a little, so perfect. What Rob said is so right it is accessible to anyone, you don't really have to see the prior movies to understand this one. All actors did a great job. E/B scenes were awesome. Kristin delivered. Rob, so proud of him

this was the mos realistic saga thanks david slade

Forgot about it in all the excitement yesterday, but anyone else wonder if Rob's Stoli shirt is now part of a quilt? Maybe just me.

AND anyone else find that Riley's "demise" was left open on purpose? How the heck would that fit into BD? (Not that I would be opposed to more "action". Cause I sooo wouldn't.)

Loved almost everything and everyone in Eclipse.

Taylor and Rob were really up to their task, Nikki Reed was surprisingly good too (who knew she could act?), the rest of the cast were all fine except Kristen who IMO was worse than in New Moon, zero sensibility, she basically pouted and ordered everyone around throughout the whole movie (stay, wait, kiss me, fetch that stick doggy). I also didn't really buy Bryce's evil grin when she attacked Edward, she's way too sweet to be believable.

I loved loved loved the scenery and some of the music. Also a much much better script and a faithful storyline. Melissa must have really tried hard on this one, eh?

Really missed Bella's night of crying for Jacob in Edward's arms, that really would have added some more depth to her character and Edward's too. But I guess that would have been asking too much out of Kristen. I'm not hating. I like her and I think she is good in other roles. But I just don't understand how come, after 3 years and 3 movies she still doesn't get this Bella character.

Saw the movie in Nigeria Wednesday night :) Yippee!!!!

What I love:
1. Jacob's letter in the book is in the movie.
2. Edward messed up Bella's car so she couldn’t see Jake.
3. Bella/Mum timeout - almost cried.
4. Tent scene was spot on!
5. Fight scenes were brilliant.
6. Xavier was great as evil Riley! Best Vampire in the entire series (Flashbacks Vamps included)
7.Charlie! Oh Charlie, brilliant as always!
8. Soundtrack & score - best yet! Totally fit the scenes.
9. Kissing scenes
10. Victoria/wolves/vamps chase scene.
11. Awesome Jasper.
12. Love seeing scenes outside Bella's POV as in the books.
13. Even with bad makeup Carlisle is beautiful as the Vamps are described in the books.

What I didn’t quite like:
1. Too many Jacob scenes
2. Long drawn speeches e.g. Kristen's at the end
3. Bella's graduation outfit
4. No Bella tears over broken hearted Jake.
5. Wigs and makeup - AWFUL!
6. Edward camera close-ups - he looked old!
7. Too short battle-scene. Wanted more.
8. Distracting contacts especially the Cullens.
9. NO MENTION OF TANYA'S COVEN! Does this mean they wouldn’t feature in Breaking Dawn?!

That’s all I can remember from my 1st viewing, hopefully I get to see it many more times soon :)

p.s. Jacob phased back in front of everyone after the battle scene so he MUST have been completely naked right?! LOL

I'm seeing it again tomorrow and I can't wait. I loved it. I need to see it more to really see everything. I was too stunned by Edward's beauty to really process.

HeneciaD said...

I can see that Rob is getting deeper with Edward in each movie

but I didnt like Jacob scenes

fight scenes were really great -love that dad and son training my man and my second fav man were together-

love jacksons acting way and ashley's too when she jump over from the tree to Jasper it was funny and hot

and I wasnt especting that Esme could look like she is really gonna fight but she was good

and I was especting the muse song in the part that Edward decided to stay with Bella but it was on the party scene and it was good

I didnt like the part that Bella left with Jacob while they were at school

It was the most realistic saga I am saying it again

and kisses were hot I wish if I were in the place of Kristen'btw I am not interested in her dont hate but dont like just nothing'

I will be seeing the movie on Friday, but I have a question:

How did the backstory of Rosalie, Jasper and the Quilettes turn out?? I bought the movie companion book and from the stills, it looks like they did a good job with them

HeneciaD said...

should I say about how adorable was Rob and how perfect he is?

HeneciaD said...

@xoRobxo yeah they were good in the movie you are gonna see it I dont want to spoil it for you

xoRobxo said...

Thanks Robsessive~they looked good in the companion book.. but no one had mentioned them on the spoiler threads..

HeneciaD said...

@xoRobxo welcome hon you know that they told them as stories in book right? thats gonna be what you will see=))

xoRobxo said...

@ Robsessive..OH yeah... I read each book at least 3 or more times. I know them front to back and back to front...lol...

I was sort of surprised at how good these scenes looked in the companion book. I wondered why no one mentioned them in the spolier thread...thinking maybe they weren't that good in the movie. I guess my expectations for the movies have always been low.... thanks to the first one.

Saw the move in a very Team Jacob heavy theater. Despite the hooting and hollering I was not persuaded! Jacob might have gotten some good one liners and snarky comments, but Edward restrained himself admirably. He's classy like that, and that makes him definitely absolutely more swoon worthy than ever!

JandR said...

Good to see I wasn't the only one who was dazzled by Jasper as well as Robward in this one! lol
Rob was damn fine - loved him in the tent scene...so gorgeous - actually really liked the dynamic between Edward and Jacob in that scene. All I can say is hats off to David Slade for just getting everything SO right!! Only problem for me was Bryce Dallas Howard as Victoria. Gotta say - I absolutely hated every minute of her screen time. Not a patch on Rachel Le Fevre and that was the one bad decision DS made. Xavier Samuels was a revelation too! He was awesome - so proud of our home grown Aussie boy! :) Music and score were excellent too - costumes great. Didn't like Carlisle's wig and Bella's was noticeable too often for my liking - but on the whole - FANTASTIC!!! Loved every minute of it and can't wait to see it (meaning Rob)over and over again!
Love having the chance to share it here with all you guys too! :D

aah, went to see the movie last night and was about to die, couldnt believe i was actually finally watching eclipse!
-loved all the flashback scenes
-i never really liked jasper but after last night, i really like him, specially dressed as a cowboy ;)
-the beginnnig of the movie when bella is trying to read but edward just keeps on distracting her...
-CHARLIE! oh god, how i loved all of his scenes, theyre all hilarious, specially when he has ''the talk'' with bella and she tells him shes still virgin (the thumbs up was so totally kristen)
-when bella and edward get to have the house for thmeselves.. OH MY MOTHER FUCKING GOD! that scene was just perfect and it was just like i imagined it from the book and even better.
-the proposal, so sweet
-riley and the bad vamps :)
-the tent scene was perfect
-the 'im hotter than you' line was just really funny and rob and taylor kept on mentioning it on the interviews and just made feel like being there when they shot it..
- om, jake naked?
-i shouldve put this on top of the list but EDWARD IS JUST SO PERFECT!!!
- i like that rob had more casual clothes in this movie, goodbye old gray suit from new moon
-i really liked how it was really alike to the book
-the training scenes,,, yum
-the moment when edward is talking to riley about how he is just being played by vitoria just gave rob that sensation of good acting
-it was really emotional the movie

then there were the things i didnt like
-jacob
-jacobs huge presentation. that sucked coz i was at the theater and evryone started screaming when you see jacob at the parking lot turning around to see bella.. i mean, why didnt you scream for rob w his lovely entrance,, i mean it was nothing lke twilights or new moon's were he comes in walking really slow and sexy but still
-when jacob gets mad at bella in the garage,
-at the end, when jacob is in his room all sick and stuff, he looked weird w all that sweating, not that i complain but im not used, LOL

-sethwolf didnt look as real as the rest, dunno why
-jacob jacob jacob and jacob! pretty much you can tell i hate jacob..
-when bella kisses jacob.. although i do admit it was like almost perfect (im 97% sure that its probably getting a nomination for best kiss for the mtv movie awards next year).
-hate it in the book and in the movies, edward never gets a bit mad, he always has the sad look but never says anything..

thats it, long list, no? its still just the best movie so far and it was awesome

Just saw the movie. As a diehard Twilight fan I loved the emotions in the first two movies even though the movies were not pieces of art so to speak.Emotions were totally missing in this one -Edward sort of saved the day! It was almost like some other movie with Edward and Bella in it!!

Rob was FANTASTIC- perfect emotions, very good delivery of dialogues, expressions and smoking hot kissing(it was proper swoonworthy kissing)! He totally totally gets Edwards character and only he could make lame/out of place dialogues and potentially awkward moments look totally believable and great(the proposal.. swoooon)!Best improvement over last two movies- dialogue delivery!it was like he was more comfortable.

This is the first time I have liked Jacob! He did a good job and looked good. Kristen who i normally adore was ok- the wig was awful but what was worse was she did not look too much in love with Edward in this one! I loved the last movies where she would have a sharp intake of breath when Edward would kiss her... those emotions were completely missing in this one.

I get a feeling that Slade tried very hard to make jacob look better than Edward...he seems almost like an afterthought! gave him very few scenes and did not allow any time for character building!and the last scene.. kristen reasoning with Rob- totally ridiculous!Slade has no idea about Twilight or its sensibility but overall very interesting movie which will bring in a much larger audience than just the Twilight fans.

Pattinson_Lover_2010 said...

Okay, for those hating on David Slade need to chill - remember he is going by the script that he received from Melissa Rosenberg. I'm not thrilled with everything she has put into these movies, but remember they are only adaptations of the books and Stephanie agreed to what has been presented.

I would have loved to seen the "kidnapping" scene (original leg-hitch scene in the book), the "deals off" at the end - MR totally missed that one.

All in all, it was actually a pretty damn good movie. But I do have to agree - too much Jacob, wasn't pleased with that at all - but I love Robward so I'm biased!

The proposal scene made me want to cry, loved the distraction scene (meadow) made me get goose bumps. Loved "the talk" with Charlie and Bella - was ROFLMAO. The love scene was too fast but still HOT!

Uh Kate, you know that threatening to send Angry Rob after me is pretty much going to guarantee bad behavior from me, right?

I plan on seeing it again tomorrow, I wonder how long we'll have to wait for the DVD, & how many copies I will have to buy to get everything?

I just saw it for the first time.

Negative bits IMO: Too much Riley and Newborns. I know- they are in the book and part of the story, but I wanted more Edward and Bella.

Good bits IMO: The scene with Bella and her Mom. All the stuff with Billy Burke. Gil's Indian monologue.
Lots of Jasper, which was good to see. Lots of Cullens, especially Carlisle. Kristen had some very good moments. I noticed lots of teary bits too.
I wish someone would take Jane out. She is a monster. Makes Victoria look like Tinkerbell.

Now- about Rob. In Twilight, there were a couple of moments when I could see that " Edward is a vampire." In Eclipse, I saw it ALL the time. (The best compliment I can give Rob.) Rob was exceptional in this film.

Is this the best of the three films? Very possibly. Yes, it's darker.Anyway, I loved it.

OK,here goes...........
Absolutely love Rob/Edward more in this movie,he delivered and was so gorgeous.....couldn't audibly moan as I had my 2 daughters with me....
The kissing scenes were to die for......
I'm a Kristen/not Bella fan but in this movie I wanted to slap her so hard for the way she treated Edward.....I can't even talk about it without getting upset.....not sure if it's MR's writing or KStew's interpretation but I was getting really annoyed......
Loved that Rosalie and Jasper had their screen time which was great...my youngest daughter hasn't read Eclipse so Rose's story helped her to understand why Rose is against Bella's transformation,I had tears at that part.
Closed my eyes when Bella and Jacob kiss...my heart was breaking for Edward....I'm with KiK on this 1,not a Jacob fan....
Overall I loved all of Rob/Edward scenes, was a bit disappointed that it was condensed so much but I suppose if you've read the book you'll understand it....all of the main points of the story were there except the "Deals off" scene between Edward and Bella.Would like to have seen that in the movie...
Just 1 last thing,I saw the movie at midnight and then again at 10am
and both times our screenings were so quiet that you could've heard a pin drop....oh we laughed at the humourous parts but it was amazing that full theatres could be so quiet,it was great.....for those of you who haven't seen the movie yet,Enjoy!

Saw the movie yesterday on IMAX with my daughter and girlfriend who have not read the books. They thoroughly enjoyed it.

Kate, feel free to send angry Rob my way!

Loved the movie. Best so far of the three. Rob's facial expressions were wonderful. Great action scenes, and the back stories were good.

Obviously they combined a lot of things that happened in the book into various scenes. However, no mention of Tanya and the Denali's. The phone message when Bella told him he was in enormous trouble and angry grizzly bears would look tame would have been a great addition. Agree with Leeann, the deals off scene should have been included.

The marriage proposal was touching, especially Edward's description of how he would have courted her. However I was distracted at the way his eyes looked. The color of the contacts make the Cullens look like aliens. I know DS wants to get the point accross that they are vampires. But I still feel the golden eye color is off a bit. Don't get me started on Bella's wigs.

The kissing scenes were hot, but too short imo. Did anyone get the feeling the focus was on Jacob instead of Edward in this film? Charlie, as always was great in his scenes.

Will see it again very soon with the ladies who introduced me to the saga when they return from vacation. We are all 50 plus and love Twilight!!

Saw eclipse today, loved it far more than the other movies, except I thought Edward was better in the first Twilight. I got the sense on this one that David Slade cut out some Rob moments. Did anyone else feel that way? Rob only spoke one or two sentences when he spoke and I got the sense that there was a disconnect between Rob and the director. Rob was squinting a lot too in this one, like he didn't feel comfortable. Overall, the movie was awesome though. I thought Rosalie did a great job, Bella and Jacob were pretty awesome, the Cullen's were superb, and the fight scenes made the whole movie. If you ask me, Dakota Fanning is horrible as Jane. She just doesn't work for me. I really was doubtful about this movie because New Moon sucked, but overall, I want to HUG David Slade for pulling it off. It was great. I cried when Bella hugged her mom and when Jessica gave the graduation speech. I just wish the Rob and the director thing had been smoother. I could tell that something was off between the two. Anyone else feel that?

Did anyone reread the Jackson Rathbone-script and compared it with Eclipse yet?

Saw it again for the second time today
absolutely love the beginning where E&B are in the meadow and she's reading and he's pushing her hair back kissing her DISTRACTING HER omg my heart stopped !
The leg hitch & proposal scene was so beautiful. Rob was always making jokes about the tent scene saying he thought it would come across as funny but it did have a lot of sexual tension in it. I love how Rob did a good job in making Edward much more intense he was so protective and jealous and when he got angry omg ! pure beauty
oh and the kiss scene between Jacob and Bella doesn't even compare to E&B kisses they are sure to win best kiss again next year. The whole cast was amazing. Only flaw I didn't like was how the scenes were just so fast. It didn't really flow well like the other movies. One minute Edward was explaining to Bella's dad about the plane tickets next scene they're already in florida ? It just seemed so rushed. I'm glad Breaking Dawn is going to be two movies that way they can get every detail possible in it without having to cut pretty much a lot out to make a huge book fit into a two hour movie. Can't wait to see what Bill Condon does with BD.

Susan said...

I just watched Eclipse and loved it too. I feel like there wasn't enough Robward but perhaps it is because he could have filled every frame every second and it still wouldn't have been enough for me!

I actually reread Eclipse in preparation for the movie so there were some scenes that I wish didn't get abbreviated or completely left out. I wish we could've seen the flash of her life with Jacob, the crying scene with Edward and Bella after she realizes she loves Jacob too (what I felt to be an important scene to show Edward's love for Bella was cut down to two lines and no emotional breakdown).
Bella has so much anguish in the book and I just didn't sense it in the movie--I felt like there was some emotional content that was lacking.

I also wish they went into a little more description about Bree or just didn't include her at all in the movie. It's like they totally missed why her character was so crucial to Bella.

But I understand the limitation of translating a book to film so with that being said, I still really really enjoyed it. The fight scenes were good, I loved the opening scene with Edward and Bella, and the bed scene (though again, it was a great scene in the book but reduced to a small makeout session but the movie made up for it with Edward talking about what it would have been like if they had been dating in his time--that was a really sweet scene and the proposal was so emotional), any interactions between Bella and Charlie (Billy Burke is awesome). I enjoyed the tent scene--definitely a favorite from book and movie. I thought Taylor Lautner did a good job too. But man oh man, if it is possible, I fell in love with Rob even more after watching the movie!

Okey,

Great scenes:
- The meadow/distraction scene
- The proposal, Edward looked so satisfied when he finally got his "yes" ( made me cry)
-Leg hitch
-Rosalie was great!
Dakota Fanning is great as Jane!
- Anna Kendrick was good in this one!

Bad things:
-All jacob scenes, bad acting
-Bella/Renee scenes didn't seem real to me.
-Bree wasn't beliveable
- I felt like the focus was on
-Jacob in this movie.
- I wanted to see Bella crying in Edward's arms for Jacob.
- The sleepover WITH alice wasn't there, neither was her kiddnapping bella. Too bad, that chapter was funny.

But over all great movie, best out of three!

@susan
I wish they would have left that scene in too ! I wanted to see how her life with Jacob would have been, but just like I said everything was so rushed and I understand that it's hard to turn an almost 500 page book into a two hour movie so everything can't be included but hopefully since BD is going to be two movies there can be more detail and things wont have to be cut out as much.
