I can't quite put my finger on it (pun intended!) but i don't think this looks like Rob in these shots. His face looks slightly off, and he doesn't look so drop dead gorgous as he did in the previous photos, playing the piano in a waistcoat.
They do however still look hot but my favourite ones are the pics of him in the white jeans laying down by the bath. That looks more like him.

@kazrob: I honestly don't care for some of these pics, they look distorted some of them, maybe that was intentional, for "art" sake, and some of the weird faces that Rob is making, sorry, but this isn't my favorite photo shoot. But it's a little to artsy fartsy for me.

I'm glad i'm not alone. Rob does look distorted. I think if these pics hadn't been showing him in a sexy way then this would have been the worst he has ever looked, and that a bloody hard thing to do!
Compared to the other pics, they look weird.

Although I do love the Details shoot, I agree that in some of the pics he doesn't look "himself". Some of the photos make his face appear a bit puffy. Saying that, I really loved the whole Helmut Newton style glossy 80's porn vibe of the pictures, and LOVED the short promo video that these screencaps are from.
Overall, DetailsRob does it for me! (That can be said about any Rob though...) What can I say? When it comes to Rob - I'm easy ;-)

BTW Don't know about anyone else, but as much as rawr role-playing shoots like this get me going, they are still nothing compared to candid shots of the genuine Rob, like the Apple store appearance. But I agree with Kazrob and Denise. This is my least fave photoshoot of Rob ever.
IMO he is without doubt the sexiest man on earth but here, most of his clothes, hair, expressions and poses didn't work for me. The models were technically perfect, but IMO, they looked mechanically sexy, their eyes were lifeless - Rob's eyes were also dull in the majority of pics (that's a first). Rob also looked very disconnected. If theses sexy shots had had Rob fully clothed lying down draped by 2 sensual, naked, heartbreakingly beautiful, interesting looking women with some chemistry and feeling in everyone's eyes, I'd have loved it - and loved Rob's reactions! But, you know, I know they wanted this to be groundbreaking and unconventional ... which it was.
I liked the first pic because of his eyes and expression, and the head shots of the hands holding his face where his eyes are smoldering are gorgeous too.

I'm gonna have to respectfully disagree with you there hon. No, this isn't Rob. He's playing a role here. This thing wasn't just taking pictures of him. It was damn near performance art. And if you don't like this, you might not like Bel Ami or other sexually provacative roles that I'm gonna bet my hands on that he'll play in the future.
And interestingly enough, it's the fact that he is clothed that makes this whole concept so damn interesting and provocative. It pitting him against these woman. The man in charge up against female sexuality which can bring the strongest of men to their knees.

Robert Pattinson (when he wants to) can look like a man ten years older than he is. Which is the chameleon effect at work. And yes, this is why WOMEN are responding to him as they did to Depp and DiCaprio when they were the same age (although compared to Rob at the same age, they did look like 'boys') and like them, he has actual talent which is why he's going to survive the 'teen idol' tag and go on to have a substantial film career.

Since you said you just now read the Details article, I wonder if you were aware of the dust storm that it kicked up? A lot thought he was saying that he didn't like women and that he was 'coming out' and announcing he was gay (right. in the dawn of his stardom he's going to announce something like that and shoot his brand new movie career in the foot *rolls eyes*).
Truth is, that comment was the punchline of an old joke. <> Ha ha. Get it? A lot of people didn't.
Also...when we are allergic to something, what happens? We have a REACTION to it. He wasn't saying that he was gay or that he didn't like women. He was saying the EXACT opposite. As for the rest of the quote..."I hate vagina".
I love reeces peanut butter cups, so much so that I want to make love to them. And this little firestorm kicked up because unfortunately, reading COMPREHENSION scores are waaaaaay down. People today tend to 'literally' take the words off the page and give no thought of the subtext that might lie beneath them.

OK, I've read to the end and just a couple of comments.
@Nik, I feel your pain a bit, though nothing compared to it: I had my face carved up yesterday to remove a 1/2 cm. little pink spot that was finally determined to be a basal cell carcinoma after 4 yrs. Now I have a huge mummy bandage on my whole cheek, a swollen black eye, and oh yuh, a 4 cm (1.5") scar on my cheek. Not a good day. But back to Robsessing. Great breakdown of the photoshoot, absolutely a performance by him, he can do that-he's an actor! But it must have been kind of rough, especially being hungover, but maybe not. Not my favorite shoot either, although appreciated what they were going for, Helmut Newton, edgy, artsy blah, blah.
@MarinaH: The Details interview was discussed endlessly and my take is that it was a major fail. She did not edit or convey Rob's words, his jokes, appropriately or in his favor. She is not a journalist and some said she was a friend, she was no friend as far as I'm concerned. The vagina allergy comment was a total joke (it's an old British joke). Though it's entertaining in parts, the interview was more about her than Rob. Oh yuh and she started the negro comment, which I won't even get into, but trust me, this was not the interview that anyone should read if they want to know about Rob. It unfortunately caused a bit of a gossip firestorm which was very undeserved and unfair to Rob.

Well, I just don't know what to say... There were pictures I liked from this shoot and pictures I didn't. Some of my favorites are among these outtakes that we've never seen. Who was in charge of choosing which ones made it to the final cut anyhow? I agree that the article didn't do him any favors because it included quotes that were completely unexplained and out of context to the conversation he must have had with the interviewer. You know, drought ridden times are tough. We don't see new pictures or interviews. Fabulous outtakes from photoshoots that were very limited in what was released originally do seem to come crawling out of the woodwork during these times though, and I happily console myself with them knowing that for a change Rob is able to focus on his personal life and mental and physical health. I hope when we see him again it's because he's promoting something he's excited about and not because some a--hole pap caught a picture of him pumping gas, or worse yet, through the window of some private location or residence. Gross! Maybe next time we see Rob and Kristen together, it will be an official public appearance and they'll be relaxed and happy to be out together. Here's to hoping!
