Details from the Art+Film LACMA Gala: Robert Pattinson's favorite Kubrick film, attire and more

Photobucket UPDATE: Added the Rob blurb from The Hollywood Reporter:

And even though Tom Hanks, Sean Penn and Jack Nicholson were in the house - the A list of the A list - of the guys, it was Robert Pattinson in his all-Gucci all-the-time look who was the guy every eye was on.

LOVE that. :)

The Wall Street Journal did a write up on the event and found out Rob's favorite Stanley Kubrick film:
Paths of Glory*

Click HERE to read the whole write up.

The Daily Beast had a quick blurb as well: Pattinson deep in conversation with Florence Welch (who performed during dinner)

Click HERE to read the whole write up.

Also, CJ did the full write up of Rob's Gucci suit. Excerpt from The Fashion Court:
The 26-year-old handsome English actor who–as I said before, should very well be fronting a campaign for Gucci at this point, suited up in what appears to be a bespoke piped black two-button jacket and slim trousers that he partnered with a white dress shirt and a smooth black silk tie. I mean, really, what’s the hold up Gucci? Get on that deal.
After that bold look in Sydney earlier this week, Rob took it back to more of a traditional style. Sometimes he takes risks, but at the end of the day — this man just knows how to wear a suit. It is as simple as that.
...
This look was complete with a pair of shiny black patent dress shoes and Rob’s signature smirk.

Everyone around the world has laughed their arses off at his ad. The guy is a has been, old news. sorry.

Gozde said...

While I'm not  a fan of Pitt's acting but I think that's a bit over the top calling him an uneducated neanderthal.
I suggest you check his biography before making generalizations he is a very intelligent man and well educated...he is generous and has worked hard on many humanitarian projects including his Make it Right Foundation in New Orleans.

Actually I do remember Leno doing a monologe on the murders and here is an article alluding to it in the archives of Timesleader web site. Read the last line.
WEST COAST LIFE THROUGH PA. EYES
SOMETIME TODAY, IF THINGS GO ACCORDING TO PLAN, I'LL STEP OFF THE PLANE AT THE
LOS ANGELES INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, PICK UP MY BAGS AND WALK TO THE RENTAL CAR
COUNTER.Thursday, January 19, 1995     Page: 3AWest Coast life through Pa. eyes     Sometime today, if things go according to plan, I'll step off the plane at the     Los Angeles International Airport, pick up my bags and walk to the rental car counterLet Hertz put me in the driver's seat -- just like O.J. Simpson used to say when he was their great corporate spokesman.     But that was before the professional football legend became an even bigger celebrity than he already was.     That was before the cops called him a double murderer -- before his dead ex-wife became the most famous battered woman in history.     Beginning Sunday, each day for a week I'll tell you about my search through the Southern California madness for the spirit of O.J. and the world in which he lived.     There's a lot to tell, but I can't tell it all.     I can, however, tell you what I found among the ruin of West Coast wealth and wedding vows gone wild. What some people call the trial of the century has something for everybody.     There's plenty of pathos to go around.     The murders of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ron Goldman have already been reduced to jokes in Jay Leno's opening monologue on the Tonight Show.     But, hey, that's show business.

Gozde said...

Oops, looks like he's doing alot of things people on here didn't think he'd do...LMAO!!!

Hey Whence, we don't have any snow here, thank God, only Southern Germany, but it's quite cold and windy. It's almost always windy here on the Baltic Sea. Snow in Vienna is quite unusual, right?
If you like the first Dior spot, go and look at the second one directed by Guy Ritchie. It's also very good IMO. Hey, and I was only kidding with the mainstream thing :) A common approach but still classy IMO. I absolutely agree... :)

Gozde said...

Thanks, That's what I thought too!!!

Gozde said...

Hey Mizz, but Jude was never one to be vain or showing off his good looks! He really is a super sweet guy...

Gozde said...

no no , that's not what i mean. i know Jude is cool, i like him too. men do wear perfumes and wear Gucci, doesn't mean they are vain (or more than we all are). for me it just looks like that, not saying that he really is. when a man does advertising for a perfume, half naked, running along the beach. it's just not an advertising i like for people i love. not my taste. i can't imagine that for Rob, but who knows.

Gozde said...

Hey Olive! We do have snow in winter just not so early in the year.
Just watched the spot by Guy Ritchy - excellent! I liked his movie Snatch....
I´m very curious about how they will showcase Rob :)))

Gozde said...

We only got the high winds which caused a some damage a few power outages there were a couple of deaths from falling debris around the province. But the East coast really took the brunt. I hope all are safe there.

Gozde said...

That wasn't HALF NAKED but SPORTY.... LOL....
you know Dior Homme SPORT! And a little slow-mo added doesn't hurt no one, right ;)
Rob won't make a clip like this... you'll have to wait what kind of fragrance he gets first and the theme will add up with it... :)

Odds are you won't see this, but I saw your comment on disqus and had to reply.

Let me give you a little lesson on the integrity of Jay Leno...

David Letterman made Jay Leno's career by exposing him to a television audience by having him on his late night show at least 30 times and Leno has acknowledged how important Letterman was to his early career and that they were friends. And he thanked him by manuvering The Tonight Show out from under Dave even tho NBC and Johnny Carson himself had been grooming Dave for over a decade to take over when Johnny retired. The Tonight Show was David Letterman's dream and everyone knew it and it was his within his grasp when Jay Leno snatched it away from him. There is a reason why Johnny Carson never guested on The Tonight Show again while he did visit David Letterman's Late Show over at CBS more than once. Dave was his heir apparent and Johnny wanted everyone to know that.

When Leno was a struggling, young comic, a woman named Helen Kushnick discovered him in a dive and became his manager and stuck by him through the lean years (and managers only make money when the clients do), until he hit the multi-million dollar jackpot when he took over The Tonight Show (and she was absolutely instrumental in getting it for him). So he put her in charge as Executive Producer and she was a barracuda from hell. She was such a meglomanic that NBC told Jay (and this was before the first show even aired), fire her or you're gone. And without hesitation, without even trying to talk to her, Jay Leno walked into her office and dumped her after nearly 20 years. Cut her off without...nothing and she became persona non grata in the entertainment business.

In 1995 at the onset of the O. J. Simpson trial, Leno was still no. 2 in the ratings. Dave was no. 1 and had been since his new late night show had debuted two years earlier over on CBS. And oh my yes, Jay Leno absolutely exploited that gruesome tragedy for laughs and ratings (ever heard of the Dancing Itos?). And guess what? He overtook Letterman in the no. 1 spot. The press even questioned Letterman about it telling him...he's kicking your ass Dave. When are you gonna get on this O.J. thing? And Letterman (who hadn't made a single joke about it) replied...'I'm sure there's a joke somewhere in double homicide and when I find it, I'll be right on it'.

So don't tell me about Jay Leno. And he couldn't sue me for shit because everything I just said is true and a matter of public record. You don't have to be a Hollywood insider to know the story of Jay Leno. You just have to be paying some attention.

Paths of Glory is a classic, on most 'best films' lists, both moving and moral, but it's Dr. Strangelove that really does it for me...lol   Of course, hard to pick a one with Kubrick, and his work as a photojournalist is still some of his best...
