In terms of bone structure, Rob will age beautifully. And you cannot buy bone structure, especially some as extrodinary as his. However...there is a duality to his looks. On the one hand, there's the softness of the etheral beauty he possesses. But because of the strength of some of his features, there is a severity there too and severe features can harden as we age and I suspect as he ages that the severity will overcome the ethereal. But his bones will save his face. He does have one flaw though and I've always thought it was a natural one and it always puzzled me...his nose. I couldn't figure out why all the bones in his face were perfectly aligned, including the shape of his head (remember when he shaved it all off and the shape of his head was perfect? That's because the skull is also part of the overall bone structure of the head), but the nose wasn't perfect. Then he revealed that he'd broken it. Several times. And I thought...ahh, that's it. When you look at his nose head on, there's a broadness to the bridge which from certain angles, can give his face a certain flatness to it. But if you look at it from the side, at certain angles you can see how nature meant that nose to be...it's a perfect roman shape. The best shape for a man's nose because it speaks to strength. I've wondered why he hasn't had it fixed? Doesn't give a shit I guess. But it's not a terrible flaw. It's just enough to keep his face interesting looking. As for Leo...

He doesn't have the bone structure or the exquisite features that Rob has, especially the eyes. Rob's are extrodinary both in size, shape and those full, lush lashes. Leo doesn't have eyes anything like that. Also, as he's aged, he's showing more of his mother's features, especially the full face. He's a good looking guy but he's not in Rob's league and he never was. I think more interesting comparisons would be Brad Pitt and Jude Law. Both considered very beautiful as a younger man and they're still handsome but the 'beauty' is fading. It will with Rob too but again, they don't have the eyes or the extrodinary bone structure to see them thru the aging process.

There was a reason why Katharine Hepburn and now Vanessa Redgrave remained unusually beautiful even into their sixties and seventies...bone structure. It's the foundation of the face and if nature gives you good bones, then you don't have to carve your face up because no matter the lines you acquire, your face isn't going to fall as far because the bones are what holds the skin up and you're gonna be a beautiful old person too.

Go look at pictures of Warren Beatty in his 20's. Then look at pictures of him today in his 70's. Yes, he's old but his face is still there. And if he takes care of himself, so will it be with Rob.

Gozde said...

I liked so much that throughout the whole interview he didn't give the kind of generic answers he did in a lot of the press interviews throughout promo and revealed some things I hadn't heard before i.e. what you refered to Eric detached from life and even his body like a puppetmaster...

Gozde said...

Fine by me...(grins)

Gozde said...

Yes I felt the same and he seemed very calm, very focused and in control...

Gozde said...

Well I ahhhh No...but that's just me.
Then I can give each my undivided attention and you've ever been north in January have you? Long ass, cold boring friggin month I have plans for that DVD release in January and I will not be deterred.

Gozde said...

soon ;-)

Gozde said...

I loved what he said about David's movies and that at least they are always REAL and personal independent movies and what he thinks most of the movies today are like...lol, he's quite right, isn't he??

Gozde said...

OK I'm confused.....give me a minute..... lol

Gozde said...

jesus will you stop saying ' tip ' please...Im on the edge here !

Gozde said...

Mhmm, yeah, absolutely, and he says that he wanted to support that by accepting the part :) I also like how David mentions that the dialogues were also a technical challenge for an actor and that he chose Rob because he COULD do it. He is just so good with words :) His own treasury of words is already great and one can see how he likes to play with words and the pronounciation...

Sorry to butt in... I have one new unfolded DVD lying right here on my table. I ordered it two times (forgot about the first one *OK I admit it I'm getting old*). I wanted to send it back but if somebody wants to have it... I'll happily send it to you. It's Original version and German version and some nice undubbed extras. So just contact me if somebody wants to have it.

Gozde said...

I had to show you this LOL

Its the "that's all we know" that gets me ;D

Your friend google had a problem.....he (I'm sure you said your friend was a 'he') told me he had a problem then said:

?????
What?
Email me

Gozde said...

LOL

Gozde said...

They are, you can feel the utter respect and admiration they have for each other. As David said something like, he knew he was good but in working with him found out that he is brilliant - one can feel that while being around him and watching him work his magic he really was kind of mesmerized by Rob (like we all are and we are not even around him) I wonder if they are in touch? I like to think so...:)

Gozde said...

lol..your avi!!!

Gozde said...

I think they keep in touch, even if loosely... :)
BTW I wanted to ask you all along.. did you make it to watch "Sleuth" on Vienna Film Festival and what did you think of it???

Gozde said...

no comment.

Gozde said...

Selfish me.....nooooo! ....ok, we can share! Plus I like you!

Gozde said...

No, I did not make it - thought that week would be more easy going but nope.... But I think I saw it a very very long time ago but like to see it again, maybe I can borrow it. I´m a fan of Laurence O. too :))

Gozde said...

no not really, i'm around...:-)

Gozde said...

I was talking about the newer one from 2007 I think, Michael Caine took the opposite role of the older husband and Jude Law took on what was Michael's role of the lover. Harold Pinter wrote the screenplay. You HAVE to see it in OV. The dialogue is great, just like in Cosmopolis:)

Gozde said...

miss you always Nuzzy !!

Gozde said...

Nice avi...lol

Gozde said...

I would just like to know why a film that was filmed in Canada by a Canadian director has not come out yet in Canada! What is this?

 It works

Gozde said...

 It does work

Gozde said...

January will be there soon, Leah :)

Gozde said...

Most handsome actor ever: Paul Newman. He had the perfect Greek/Roman face and he had the body as well, the only actor to have a 6-pack then. A very handsome man: French actor Alain Delon. Warren Beatty was indeed very good-looking, but some found his face a bit too well-fed.

Gozde said...

His look on this pic reminds me of his look during the recent Australian promo, like on the pier pics. Maybe it's a futurist biker attire, like for The Rover. Looking forward to the rest of the photoshoot.

Gozde said...

Rob looks fabulous! Love his eyes! His jacket is a little too mad max for me but  it is hard to see it clearly.

Gozde said...

GGGGGGGGGGGAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  FFFFFFFLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
that's all i got!  hahahaha!  =D

Gozde said...

Interesting about Rob's nose...I didn't know he'd broken it and several times?...ouch...I had always thought he had a perfect nose from certain side profiles...but also thought looking straight on, his nose had the look of boxers...sort of..because of the flat appearance...now I know why..thanks for that bit of info.

Gozde said...

Glad someone else is wondering that as well.

Gozde said...

Your turn, I'm done!!! aaaaaah

Gozde said...

Ok:))

Gozde said...

Ditto!:) xoxo

Gozde said...

Good call.  Paul Newman retained his good looks into his 70's and I think not only perhaps because of his good bone structure, but he had those gorgeous baby blue eyes!  I think he's an apt comparison to how Rob might age.

Gozde said...

OOOOMG!!! NEED!!! NOW!!!

Gozde said...

As always nik, you're so full of passion when it comes to Rob. Your loyalty is always with him and no one else.

Gozde said...

We're pretty fortunate that everything we have is still structurally sound and in tact. We just got power back on about an hour ago. 48 hours without heat was the hardest thing we had to deal with, luckily. Sandy brought a cold front with her so it was in the high thirties at night. Now the hard part is watching all of our beloved beach towns and the destruction that demolished everything that the jersey shore embodied. (And no, nothing like the TV show). I went to many of those towns, have family there, got married there, so many memories. The next phase is going to be volunteering. I think it's only right to give back to a state that's given so much to me.

My DH and I got married last Oct 29,2011 the day of an early snowstorm that rocked the state. Fast forward a year to our first anniversary...and we have sandy. We celebrated over flashlights and non perishable food items.

Cell phone reception is tricky at times but the only site I had complete access to on my phone was good ol Robsessed :) sometimes it's the small things that really matter. Be safe everyone !

Gozde said...

Thank you, so eloquently said. Thank you again

Gozde said...

Wow! Special man is mixing it up. That is one of the (MANY MANY) things I love about Rob, he is very versatile. OK ...so I loose control of my faculties when Rob is all Gucci'd up and beautiful...but when I see shots like this I just smile like a idiot! Reading some of the comments previous, I agree he will age well. You only have to look at him even back in 2007/2008, he has matured now and filled out in the face (and bod) so nicely. A bit like George Clooney, (though Rob MUCH hotter at a younger age) he will get better and better as he gets older. I am picturing him as a 30 something James Bond and he would totally smash it!! Beautiful, Stunning Man :)

Gozde said...

Enjoy your tea, whence *wink* :))

Gozde said...

Truth must be told, bwen  :))

Gozde said...

I've talked about the premiere with Jazz girl whose daughter went to it, because I had expected more people, it was a Twilight event after all.  She too said that it had lacked promo.  When he was in Brussels last year to promote BDI, there wasn't even mention of it on the big papers and TV channel.  The teen mags and the gossip wrote about it but the serious media  ignored him.  Twilight is still considered to be a teen movie and Rob a "one day teen idol".  That's why I guess.  But the fans were there, many of them.

Gozde said...

Thanks, NIk, I like comments like these :)
I never understood why nobody said anything about Rob's nose.  I remember well the first pic I ever saw of him, I thought immediately: "He has broken his nose".  So I waited for an interviewer to ask him how and when he had broken it but noone did, until he himself spoke about. I agree with the different angles too.  It's  the bulge on his nose who gives the different aspects of his face: a pic where you look at the right side of his nose shows his face and nose always sharper, more defined (I prefer this angle, it's his best IMHO) while a pic where you look at the left side of his nose gives a more flat impression.  I'm not an expert at all but I guess that's why he's so difficult to draw or to catch in a wax figure, but it are indeed these imperfectnesses that makes his face so fascinating.
What I discovered with Rob though is that a sharp bone structure can be an advantage in acting: Rob can act so intense with the help of his strong cheek bones (in combination with his penetrating eyes) while I often have the impression that Leonardo needs to do more of an effort to overcome the weakness in his face.
Now that we're talking about the looks: I never knew that so many actors have a rather short length.  Rob is considered tall but in our mesures he's not that tall at all.  A lot of men where I live are taller (and in the Netherlands there are really big men).  Rob has an almost average length but compared with many other actors he has to look down at them.  I like actors who are considered handsome and/or sexy to be tall too.  Since I've noticed that, actors like Depp, Di Caprio have tumbled of their pedestal  LOL.
For me, Brad Pitt also had a bit of babyface but while getting older his face has become a bit sharper.  Clooney, I think, is a good example of a man with a nice bone structure who doesn't do anything to hide his age because he doesn't need it.
And yes, a pronounced bone structure has always been a conditio sine qua non for female models.

Gozde said...

It's not a thick book at all, Leah, it won't take long to read it.

Gozde said...

Was that the one where he looked all James Dean style, with sigarette and black leather jacket and ripped jeans?  The only thing that lacked was a Harley Davidson  LOL.

Gozde said...

Hey BB have you seen Leo in The Departed recently... The boys (Matt and Leo) are smokin' hot....if you have not, it will be a pleasant surprise!

I can't wait to watch Rob's future unfold and watch this sexy young man grow more appealing in looks and just as delightful in personality as his career unfolds.  I truly wish him everything, all the stuff money can't buy and lots of the stuff it can..

Gozde said...

Always.... *wink back*

Gozde said...

That sweet day in 2008 you ripped your heart out and handed to him. Awwwww....that's so romantical! I just threw myself on my back and started thrusting my crotch towards the screen. But I guess our story is kinda similar. LOL

Gozde said...

Yes bb it was,
Todd Wenner shot the spread  for July 2009 for US Weekly it also featured the wet tee shirt pictures.

Gozde said...

I'v not seen The Departed yet, luv, thanks for the tip!

Gozde said...

Wait, the wet tee shirt pictures?  Then I think I've another shoot in mind, not a studio shoot but one outside on a parking lot or so.

Gozde said...

No your right July 2009 US weekly had all those photos. Black Leather jacket in a parking lot outside and wet shirt inside of studio...at least thats what is showing on US Weekly's website for that time period.
