WOA! DUDE that is WAY too much information! *Robs bits are too small?!* WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT MEAN in a figure of speech?!

This was actually pretty interesting even if Rob's bits were too small :-)

I agree. I've watched them twice and didn't catch anything about Rob's bits being small. I'm impressed that they all seem to have a keen awareness of the "phenomenon" and how it has impacted the YA market and what films HW is clamoring to make to cash in on the phenomenon that is Twilight. Some of them don't understand it (that would be Rob), but certainly are aware of it. The latest Entertainment Weekly did a whole article on this subject, of what Twilight has begot...from the Vampire Diaries to that Zombie love story movie, and much more. It just boggles my mind that it all began with a dream that a Mormon housewife had and decided to write it all down...and I loved that Rob knew her story. Sometimes in a life time, lightening strikes in the most unexpected places.

I just read that article this morning & was surprised to find how many YA books that I've read are now going to be movies. Besides The Hunger Games (which is already out), The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, the Matched Trilogy, the Divergent trilogy, Warm Bodies & sitting on my nightstand still to be read, Beautiful Creatures. I would say maybe I need to read more adult books (I do read them LOL), but then I remember how much I love the Harry Potter books, & how much I hated The Casual Vacancy.
As for the whole dream story, personally, I have always been suspicious of how much of that story is truth & how much is just another story. Stephenie dreaming about a vampire & a girl having a conversation in a meadow & then writing it down just for herself seems a bit of a fantasy to me.

You are the devil that got me hooked on the BDB series. I'm still game, so tell me which ones you recommend? I have read the Matched books to date...you did read that the last one was recommended as the best of the trilogy, which has me excited.
P.S. She's a Mormon. Do you think she was lying? LOL

I actually just finished reading The Fallen Angels books by JR Ward (& I got an email today that said Lover at Last is finally finished YAY!) & they were pretty good. I haven't gotten around to buying Reached yet (waiting for a 20% cpn from Barnes & Noble) but I'm glad to hear it's supposed to be the best book because I was kind of disappointed with Crossed. Have you checked out the Dark series by Christine Feehan or The Midnight Breed books by Lara Adrian? Nalini Singh also writes some good stuff, either the Psy/Changeling series or The Guild Hunter series. I also like I also like the Rhiannon's Law books by J.A. Saare. Those are all adult books. For YA, I like the Divergent series by Veronica Roth, or the books by Laini Taylor.

When I saw THR, I thought it said THS (TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORIES). Exuse my dyslexia. BTW, has there been a THS of ROBERT PATTINSON yet on E!? ...Or Kristen? Seriously.

There is also this trilogy(the last one is coming out sometime soon)called Delirioum and pandemonioum

I forgot to answer the Mormon part :-) I don't think being a Mormon precludes her from lying, we've all seen news stories of Priests, Rabbis, Reverends, etc committing crimes, & there have certainly been Mormon criminals. I don't think the fact that she's a devout Mormon means she won't/can't lie.

The key to Twilights extreme success and mega-fandom....Robert Pattinson.

Gozde said...

doubt it. the closest thing was one about young Hollywood leading ladies or something like that... had K on it. I'd rather they not though on either of them. It's weird and intrusive. and E! thinks they know it all but they don't (not claiming that I do, I just think that they are absurd because they do).

Gozde said...

I totally agree. He's the phenomenon. His casting of Edward caused the buzz, sparked the interest of people who hadn't read the books.

Gozde said...

Wait... what? Divergent and Matched are going to be movies?!?!?! I loved Divergent and Insurgent... Four. Enough said. I wasn't that impressed with Crossed but I am holding out for the last one. Haven't really got into the rest of those series... Mortal Instruments doesn't really seem to suit my fancy for some reason.

Nah, "older people" fiction ( because "adult" seems to hold a saucier connotation) can be so blase sometimes. YA all the way! haha! Thanks for the heads up on The Casual Vacancy... I was really close to getting it from work but I saw how little it was being inquired for and was on the fence about it.

That's so true Hannah. I saw Twilight Oct. 2011 when channel surfing and there HE was. Then I saw the other movies and read the books because of Rob. He was the only reason that I was ever interested in Twilight, and I love it because of him. So if they hope to repeat the success of the Twilight Saga with similar stories it aint gonna happen...not without him.

Gozde said...

So totally agree.

Hope you see this, I'm replying from my Disqus board. My comment was a bit tonque in cheek. Depending upon your political persuasion, and with all due respect, there's one famous Mormon who didn't exactly lie, but sure did prevaricate quite a bit and had to back track his off-the-cuff, private comments in his zeal and goal to become the next President of the USA. His religious beliefs, I believe, had little to do with the outcome. I have a close friend who has a Mormon sister and family. Suffice to say, no one lies, but there sure is a lot of denial and unjust behavior in that community just like every where else.
