Wish He Was Mine Wednesday With Robert Pattinson

Wish He Was Mine Wednesday With Robert Pattinson

'Wish He Was Mine' this Wednesday is an oldie but a goodie. This Rob was sent in by so many of you and I had a feeling he would be high up on the list of favourites.

Ladies, I give to you grey hoodie Rob.Just don't stare into those eyes for too long because there's no coming back if you do.

 photo RobertPattinsonOuttakes386.jpg

Oh who am I kidding, we all want to drown in those eyes. To help you even further, here's a gorgeous wallpaper for you by Rainer.

Today's post actually ties in quite nicely with Magical Monday this week.

Torture Tuesday: Robert Pattinson was the best Tyler, the best Jacob, the best Georges, but.....

It's Tuesday! Have you missed me?

 photo shakeshead.gif

Awww don't be like that. You know you love Torture Tuesday.

 photo NOPE.gif

TOO BAD!!! Because your grumbles keep this day going. ;) Where shall I begin....

Yesterday, we found out that Rob was no longer going to be a part of Mission: Blacklist. I'm totally fine with this for reasons I shared in the comments but the one thing I am sad about is we lost a film with Rob in the lead and well, Rob as a lead......

 photo wantwhatwewant.gif

This made me think about Rob taking on leading roles after he snagged Twilight yet before he became the KING OF CANNES with Cosmopolis...

In Remember Me, he was the charming and troubled Tyler, breaking our hearts and making us fall for him just like Ally.

 photo cuteface.gif photo tease.gif

In Water For Elephants, he was the compassionate, sweet Jacob, making us again fall in love with him like Rosie and Marlena.

 photo SadRobowski-1.gif

In Bel Ami, he was back to charming and troubled....actually Troubled with a capital T. And this time, you were definitely in danger if you fell for him...like poor Virginie here.

 photo MadDuRob4.gif photo MadDuRob2.gif photo MadDuRob1.gif

Rob would go on to knock it all out of the park in Cosmopolis as the leading man and start his reign as the KING OF CANNES but what do you think about these three leading roles/characters during the Twilight years? Great you say? Fantastic? Rob was the complete embodiment of Tyler/Jacob/Georges? Well what if I asked you this....

heheheheeeeee....happy Torture Tuesday!

BREAKING: Robert Pattinson exits Mission: Blacklist due to scheduling issues

BREAKING: Robert Pattinson exits Mission: Blacklist due to scheduling issues

UPDATE2: One of the screenwriters thanked Rob fans for their support HERE and HERE plus there was another great write up that stood out to me. Bottom of the post.
UPDATE: I like what The Playlist said in their post. Excerpt follows the initial report from The Wrap.

The writing has been on the wall so it shouldn't come as a surprise that Rob has left the building where Mission: Blacklist is concerned.

 photo bafta3.gif

From The Wrap:
Code Entertainment is financing the film, which will recast the lead role of military interrogator Eric Maddox
Robert Pattinson has exited “Mission: Blacklist,” an indie thriller about the hunt for Saddam Hussein, due to scheduling issues, TheWrap has learned.
First announced in May 2012, Pattinson was set to play military interrogator Eric Maddox, who spearheaded Hussein's capture.
With two films premiering at Cannes, Pattinson is coming off a very active period. He just wrapped Anton Corbijn's “Life” with Dane DeHaan and did not have sufficient time to prepare for his demanding role in “Mission: Blacklist,” an individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap.
The role of Maddox will now be recast, and the filmmakers hope to start production this fall.
...
Pattinson has a busy spring with two films heading to Cannes — David Cronenberg's “Maps to the Stars” and David Michod's “The Rover.” He also recently wrapped the role of photographer Dennis Stock opposite Dane DeHaan's James Dean in Anton Corbijn's “Life.”
Looking ahead, Pattinson is attached to star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in James Gray's “The Lost City of Z” and the James Marsh thriller “Hold On to Me” with Carey Mulligan. He's repped by WME, 3 Arts Entertainment, Curtis Brown Group and attorney Robert Offer.
Excerpt from The Playlist:
Robert Pattinson is having a hell of a year. The former “Twilight” star has two films appearing at Cannes 2014 – David Cronenberg’s “Maps To The Stars” and David Michod’s “The Rover” – his already-completed bucket list achievement includes working with Werner Herzog (“Queen of The Desert”), Anton Corbijn (“Life”)and his to-do list includes acting for auteurs like James Gray (“Lost City Of Z”), James Marsh ("Hold on to Me") and director/actor Brady Corbet (“The Childhood of a Leader”). But a busy plate often means something has to go by the wayside....Pattinson, in the meantime, may just want a well-deserved rest.
Excerpt from We Got The Covered:
Actors like Robert Pattinson are sometimes the most interesting ones to watch as they go about crafting their career in Hollywood. Completely written-off as a legitimate talent due to his work on the Twilight series, the British thesp is now making most critics bite their tongues. With an impressive turn in Cosmopolis not too long ago, and lead roles in two very exciting upcoming films (David Cronenberg’s Maps to the Stars and David Michod’s The Rover), the actor is starting to turn heads again. Add to that a whole slate of in-development projects (Lost City of Z, Life, Queen of the Desert) that will solidify his status as a leading man even further, and Robert Pattinson is quickly becoming one of Hollywood’s most exciting young talents (I never thought I would write that sentence)
...
...It’s still a shame that Pattinson had to drop out of what sounds like a really interesting story. Apparently the role called for a lot of preparation though, and the actor just didn’t have the time, which is perfectly understandable given his busy slate.
Onward and upward!

Magical Monday starring Robert Pattinson - It's All In The Eyes

Kate posted the side by side images above a few days ago in a post and I was, as usual, drawn to his eyes. I'm always drawn to them... and my odd obsession with his tear ducts... but we'll leave that one there. (I may or may not have lingered on the forearm for a little longer than necessary on the way to the eyes)

His eyes tell so much when he's being himself and when he's acting - the back story of the characters he plays hides in them. And although I love Edward, I love seeing Rob without the shield the contacts gave. And who doesn't want to see those blue/grey/green eyes in all their glory? Now let's let them make this Monday a little Magical...

ROBsessed Giveaway: Enter for a chance to win INNOCENCE for our Fiction Friday!

ROBsessed Giveaway: Enter for a chance to win INNOCENCE for our Fiction Friday!

Hey Rob! Whatcha reading? Anything we can give away for FictionFriday??

 photo tumblr_mj6zgfOpgB1qkbr8xo1_r1_250.gif

Well that's ok. He can just continue to sit there looking sexy and sweaty because we have a worldwide giveaway all set and ready for you guys! Please stop looking at Rob now and try to pay attention. I know it's hard. ;)

Like several other book giveaways we've done, INNOCENCE by Elise De Sallier originated as Twilight fanfiction and some of you might be familiar with A Forbidden Love. That story has been reworked and developed into a trilogy, with the first novel sweeping us away in the form of INNOCENCE. Here's the synopsis:
photo Innocence_Low-Res_Cover.jpgIgnorance is supposed to be bliss, but in Anneliese Barlow's experience, it leads to unwise choices and unnecessarily tragic outcomes . . . and there is nothing blissful about either.
Forced to flee her father's brutal heir, Anneliese masquerades as Lisa Brown, a servant, in the grand country mansion of the Duke of Worthington. Discovering the life of gentility she had known was a virtual fairytale, reality a dark and forbidding place, she faces danger at every turn.
Captivated by the beautiful maid, the Marquis of Marsden, decides the only way to keep Lisa safe is by offering her his protection. With all hopes of returning to her previous station lost, she surrenders her virtue to the man she has come to love.
Finding unexpected passion in Nathaniel's arms, her senses are awakened to a world of sensuality she'd not known existed . . . a world not without grave risks.
If her identity is uncovered, Lisa's innocence won't be the only thing that's lost.
Eeeeeep! I love a good Marquis throwing passion around. Take me away! In case you aren't familiar with our author of the week, here's a quick bio about Elise and her journey from fanfic to published author:
A great believer in living happily ever after, Elise began her lifelong obsession with the romance and paranormal genres when she was far too young to be reading either. After more than thirty years of marriage to her very own romantic hero, she now knows great relationships don't just happen, they take work . . . which doesn't mean writing about them can't be a whole lot of fun! While raising a family, Elise established a career as a counselor and family therapist. Seeking an escape from the stresses of her work, she discovered the world of fan fiction, and her timid writer's muse made its voice heard. Two point three million hits, twenty thousand reviews, and an e-mail from an acquisitions editor at The Writer's Coffee Shop later, and her life found a new and fascinating direction. Elise likes to see her characters grow, experience passion and adventure, tackle some difficult issues, and find lasting love . . . eventually.
If you'd like to purchase INNOCENCE ahead of the giveaway, you can find an Amazon link at the bottom of the post.

Robert Pattinson has two films heading to the 2014 Cannes Market: The Lost City of Z and The Childhood of a Leader

In addition to Rob's highly anticipated films, The Rover and Maps To The Stars, being officially selected for the Cannes Film Festival, two other Rob films will be seeing some action in the south of France.

The Lost City of Z and The Childhood of a Leader look to be debuting at the 2014 Cannes Market. Films will be showcased in various ways at the market to seek funds, distributors, etc. Production for both films is currently this summer but we'll let you know when things are more concrete. Here's the info shared with the market news. TCoaL synopsis is a little more detailed than we'd read before.

This chilling fable about the rise of fascism in the 20th Century tells the story of a young American boy living in France in 1918 whose father is working for the US government on the creation of the Treaty of Versailles. What he witnesses helps to mold his beliefs – and we witness the birth of a terrifying ego. Loosely inspired by the early childhood experiences of many of the great dictators of the 20th century and infused with the same sense of dread as The Others and The Omen, (The) Childhood Of a Leader is an ominous portrait of emerging evil.

In 1925, Fawcett ventured into the Amazon to find an ancient civilization, hoping to make one of the most important discoveries in history. For centuries Europeans believed the world's largest jungle concealed the glittering kingdom of El Dorado. Thousands had died looking for it, leaving many scientists convinced that the Amazon was truly inimical to humans. But Fawcett, whose daring expeditions inspired Conan Doyle's The Lost World, had spent years building his scientific case. Captivating the imagination of millions round the globe, Fawcett embarked with his son, determined to prove that this ancient civilization--which he dubbed Z--existed. Then his expedition vanished.

THE LIMO DRIVER

“Plus we’re both dual - disorder ”

When Agatha Weiss returns to Los Angeles, she makes an instant connection with the first person she encounters: her limo driver, a would - be screenwriter who chauffeurs the far more successful, and who becomes increasingly entangled in her larger - than - life drama.

Taking the role of Jerome is leading star Robert Pattinson, who wanted to work with Cronenberg again on the heels of taking the lead role in Cosmopolis (coincidentally, Pattinson played a billionaire who is a limo passenger throughout that film.)

photo tumblr_n41e3sJ1zO1ql8r0ko5_r1_250.gifHe was one of the first cast members to sign on, which Martin Katz says helped buoy the project. “Robert’s enthusiasm for Maps to the Stars is one of the things that really got us underway. Jerome is not a large role but it’s very significant in the story and his joining the cast gave us a terrific amount of momentum,” recalls the producer. “In a sense he is playing Bruce Wagner, who was himself at one time a limo driver and unemployed writer.”

Cronenberg was thrilled to reunite with Pattinson, and in such a different kind of role. “I think Rob was really happy to be part of an ensemble,” he says. “But Jerome is also a critical character, a lovely character and it was a chance for Rob to give a more naturalistic performance. I knew he would be fabulous and he was.”

Pattinson’s experience working on Cosmopolis with Cronenberg was so profound that he agreed to the role of Jerome before reading the script. But when he finally sat down to read it, he recalls, “Within two pages I was thinking wow, this is so unbelievably different and hilarious. I don't even know what people are going to make of this, but it feels dangerous. It’s sort of satirical but it’s also a ghost story and it’s also a kind of thriller. It defies genre.”

He came to see Maps To The Stars as more than just another L.A. story. “It’s really about 10 people who lie to themselves – right up until the end,” he summarizes.

Yet within all that, Pattinson sees Jerome as the most ordinary of the film’s roster of outrageously deluded and desperate characters -- typical of a certain kind of everyday L.A. dreamer, a regular guy with a regular job who nevertheless always believes h e is just one move away from becoming a major actor and writer.

photo Crazy.gif“Jerome would never accept that he is just a limo driver. I think he feels he’s just waiting for his break,” Pattinson observes. “And yet, he’s seemingly the only one in this story who's not going insane -- or who isn’t a ghost. He's a fairly normal guy, which is slightly odd for me, as well.”

Working with his fellow cast members was another big draw for Pattinson. Of Julianne Moore, he says: “She’s hilarious and also very sane, which is kind of ironic given who Havana Segrand is. And she shifts so subtly into character, you barely notice what she is doing. It’s kind of amazing.”

He worked most closely with Mia Wasikowska as Agatha, who comes to rely on Jerome as her sole friend in the city. “I knew Mia was going to be wonderful in this,” he says. “She’s so lovely that it was horrible for me to watch Agatha be bullied by her entire family.”

photo Bows.gifFor Cronenberg, the chance to work with cast members like Pattinson and Gadon multiple times is one of the most gratifying aspects of his career. “It's really beautiful for me to see that blossoming and the evolution of actors as I work with them, ” he concludes.

....

ROBERT PATTINSON (Jerome Fontana) is best known for his portrayal of the vampire Edward Cullen in The Twilight Saga .
