Robert Pattinson's The Rover makes must-see lists and his "superb performance" continues to be praised!

Robert Pattinson's The Rover makes must-see lists and his "superb performance" continues to be praised!

Access Hollywood had a must-see summer indie movie segment on yesterday and I loved seeing Alicia Malone give The Rover some love. If you don't know Alicia Malone, check out her past Rob interviews HERE.

Entertainment Weekly also included The Rover on their must-see summer art-house movie list, saying "both actors astound."

Check out more reviews that we liked for The Rover and you can always catch up HERE, under our The Rover Reviews tag.

The Upcoming (5 stars)
The strength of this movie is its setting in a near-apocalyptic future yet not so far from what our actual world is becoming. The movie is very minimalist, and so is the language, which leads to amazing performances, especially from Pearce and Pattinson. They’re strong, fragile, sad and angry at the same time. The tension between them is there all along, yet they manage to create a beautiful relationship from their two broken souls.
From the score to the cinematography, from the lights to the framing, from the script to the choice of the cast, everything hails Michôd’s work as a great achievement.
Total Film:
The technical credits are first-rate and both Pearce and Pattinson convince in their roles, the former mad-eyed and clenched, the latter confused of mind and slurred of tongue and possessed of a touching purity. Between this and his work for David Cronenberg, Pattinson is suggesting his career post-Twilight will sparkle like Edward Cullen’s skin. Michod, meanwhile, confirms he’s a filmmaker of considerable talents.
FMV magazine (3.5 stars):
Scoot McNairy is good as Henry, the leader of the gang who will protect himself at all costs but it’s Robert Pattinson, who is almost unrecognizable, finally realising his potential with a superb performance as Henry’s brother, Rey. Hopefully he will be remembered for portrayals like this rather than that vampire bloke in Twilight franchise
Letterboxd (4 stars):
Tough, gritty and quietly powerful, this film not only delivers great Guy Pearce and surprising Robert Pattinson performances
Film School Rejects (B):
A critical retroactive sadness to Pearce’s steely determination. That flinty persona clashes well with Pattinson’s desperately thuggish demeanor, the hardened man tolerating the hapless boy.

Robert Pattinson sits down with Access Hollywood

Robert Pattinson sat down with Shaun Robinson at the Breaking Dawn Part Two press junket in LA today for Access Hollywood.

Robert Pattinson thinks his fans are wonderful... and we think he is.

Robert Pattinson thinks his fans are wonderful... certainly something to live up to. Do it well folks, make him proud and let's SUPPORT Rob.

A smartly dressed Robert Pattinson stepped out in New York City on Monday evening, for the premiere of his new film, “Cosmopolis,” marking the star’s first public event since news of Kristen Stewart’s cheating scandal broke.

But despite the recent headlines, Robert was focused on his film — and his fans.

Hitting the red carpet, the actor expressed remorse over not being able to take care of his fans’ red carpet wishes – an autograph from their “Twilight” hunk.

“Every time I’ve done [a premiere] in New York it’s pretty crazy, but there’s absolutely no way to sign anything,” he laughed while chatting with Access Hollywood on the “Cosmopolis” red carpet. “That’s the only problem.”

Dozens of fans held up signs of support for Rob as he hit his premiere, after an appearance on Jon Stewart’s “The Daily Show,” and the actor was thankful for their support.

“It’s great,” he said of the fan reaction and support. “It’s wonderful.”

Robert is proud of his new film, and he said shooting most of his scenes in a limo actually provided some comfort.

“It makes it easier… I was extremely nervous at the beginning. It’s a complicated script, so just having anything where you can have some kind of security, some kind of stability in it, just made it more comfortable for me, especially the caliber of actors and stuff,” Robert told Access. “People way more experienced than me — as long as I had my limo and I had the same seat, it was just a lot easier.”

According to fans who attended “The Daily Show” taping, Jon presented Robert with a bowl of ice cream and discussed his own previous romantic lows.

LOL this is so cute. Taylor says Rob didn't really mess up his hand and foot print but then goes on to explain what happened...and it sounds like Rob messed it up.

But honestly...would we want Rob's imprint to be just like everyone else's at Grauman's? Didn't think so. ;)

From Access Hollywood

Robert Pattinson is blaming Kristen Stewart for the wedding night scene that, before it was re-edited, nearly earned “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” an R rating.

“What were you doing?” Access Hollywood’s Shaun Robinson asked the Brit on Thursday afternoon as he promoted the November 18-due film.

“Weird stuff… It was gross,” Robert laughed. “No one wants to see that kind of stuff.”

When Shaun asked what director Bill Condon left on the cutting room floor, Robert suggested it was things done by his leading lady – K-Stew.

“It was more the noises. It was Kristen’s fault, really. I was just doing standard stuff,” Robert replied, trying not to look like the guilty party.

“I was just kind of going through the motions – breaking the headboard, I just kept breaking the headboard repeatedly,” he carried on, laughing. “Kristen was just over the top. It was just too much… Her wig [was] falling off.”

Before the bedroom scene between Robert’s Edward Cullen and Kristen’s Bella Swan-turned-Cullen, the two characters had to marry and the Brit said filming the giant nuptials was a day he’ll remember for a long time.

“It was really sweet. There was a big build [up] of excitement because there were a lot of new cast as well who came in and everyone knew it was a big deal,” Robert said. “There were all these paparazzi helicopters flying around, so everyone was kind of excited. But, it looks a lot prettier in the movie than it was in reality.”

And Robert continues to insist – even though none of his cast mates support him on the matter – that the man who married Edward and Bella on screen was the real deal.

”[He] was a real priest and Kristen’s going around saying it wasn’t a real priest,” Robert said. “It was a real priest. They were wrong, they weren’t paying attention, they were just thinking about themselves.”

While a giant, on-screen wedding can sway an actor’s feelings in real life, Robert is pretty firm on his beliefs about walking down the aisle.

“I don’t feel like marriage is that big a deal,” he told Shaun. “It just seems very simple… It’s like having a big birthday party. It’s like, if you wanna throw a really elaborate birthday party for your girlfriend, it’s kind of the same deal.”
