'Life' Producer Iain Canning & Director Anton Corbijn Talk About Robert Pattinson

'Life' Producer Iain Canning & Director Anton Corbijn Talk About Robert Pattinson

Life will be available on DVD & BluRay in the UK on Monday but if you're lucky enough to live in Ireland then you'll be able to get your hands on it today.
The special features include interviews with Robert Pattinson, Dane DeHaan (both of which we've already seen) along with Anton Corbijn, Luke Davies, Iain Canning, Joel Edgerton, Christina Piovesan and Rodney Stock.

Here are a few quick snippets from Iain Canning, Anton Corbijn & Christina Piovesan where they mention Rob. I especially love what Iain has to say about the tenderness that Rob brought to the character of Dennis and about Rob's choice of multi layered complicated characters.
Check it out below.........

Fueled by engaging performances from Golden Globe® nominee Guy Pearce (Memento, L.A. Confidential) and what Variety calls "a career-redefining performance from Robert Pattinson" (The Twilight Saga franchise, Cosmopolis), The Rover arrives on Blu-ray™ Disc (plus Digital HD) and DVD (plus Digital) September 23 from Lionsgate Home Entertainment.
The tension-filled film, which was released theatrically by A24, was an Official Selection of the 2014 Cannes Film Festival. The Rover, directed by visionary writer/director David Michôd (Animal Kingdom), also stars Scoot McNairy (TV's "Halt and Catch Fire," upcoming Gone Girl).

Set in a world 10 years into the general collapse of society, The Rover follows hardened loner Eric (Pearce) as he travels the desolate towns and roads of the outback. When a gang of thieves steals his car, they leave behind a wounded Rey (Pattinson). Forcing Rey to help track the gang, Eric will go to any lengths to take back the one thing that still matters to him.

The Rover Blu-ray Disc and DVD include a "making of" featurette and will be available for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.

In an interview with Collider last month Bill Condon revealed that as far as he knew there wouldn't be any commentary from Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart on the "Breaking Dawn Part 2" dvd/bluray and this list of dvd/bluray extras from Amazon France pretty much confirms that BUT there are some pretty exciting things on there (like a longer version of BD1)

The extras listed are for the French version of the movie but the extras for other countries will likely be very similiar.

The DVD/BluRay  has a release date of March 14th 2013. There is a rumoured US release date of February 16, 2013. Obviously we'll keep you up to date as soon as we know more about that.

The following are Rob highlights from the Breaking Dawn Part 1 Bluray/DVD commentary with director, Bill Condon, by @epnebelle:

***COMMENTARY SPOILERS***
  • re: last week of shooting & filming Jacob/Bella dance "These 3 actors knew this was the last time they would be playing these parts ever, and they were very aware of it and Kristen's not overtly sentimental but I think there were a lot of tears on all sides"
  • Bill Condon: "I could spend this entire commentary gushing about these actors & I'll try not to"
  • Did we know that Lizzy Pattinson "sings" in the music as B/E drive away from Forks for their honeymoon? I don't think I did.
  • Re: honeymoon sex "I think people know there was an earlier more explicit version of this..it wasn't that much different but there was more a sense probably that they were having sex"
  • "That thrust that he did just as we fade out...we had a little more of that, so we sort of pulled back on that"
  • "They were great sports about it & obviously very comfortable w/ each other..I can't imagine this without their comfort level w/ each other"
  • Re: Rob & Bella black lingerie "His reaction was just completely him responding in the moment...I love it, its just great to see him smile"
  • They shot the scene from the book of Bella and Edward acknowledging that they've figured out a way to have sex without destroying the house or injuring Bella and Bella tossing around the idea of staying human a little longer. Bill really liked it but felt it didn't go anywhere dramatically. I swear we better get deleted scenes down the road. Still can't believe there are none on this dvd. Ridic.
  • re: their future - Bill can see Kristen as a director, Rob as a writer & Taylor as a producer and studio head.
  • re: Edward hearing the baby scene & Rob/babies (I die!) "You look at Rob here, you get a little hint of what you'll see a lot of in the 2nd film. He is unbelievably tender with babies...with children...not just babies...he was with Mackenzie too. There's something that changes about him when he's with children. He's just so sweet and caring and I think you really get a little glimpse of that here."
  • re: birth/trying to revive Bella - "You have this intensity from Rob and Taylor...because Kristen made it so real, they're imagining what it would be like to lose Kristen...both of them talked about that."
