The King has premiered at the Venice Film Festival and oh boy is it exciting! First up, a new still of Rob looking very Robearrr-ish.
David Michôd shared more about casting Rob and the role he's playing during the press conference. We're going to have to wait an hour to see our guy but it seems like the wait will worth it.

Although all actors are in top form, at an early morning press screening in Venice, Pattinson stole the show from the moment he appeared onscreen. With his outlandish garb and foppish accent, Pattinson drew laughter and applause in his role as the Dauphin of France, serving as the perfect foe to Chalamet’s earnest Henry V.Excerpt from Vulture, The King Director Cast Robert Pattinson and His Wig for ‘Razzle-Dazzle’:
"I just had a feeling he would make it fun," said Michod. "I needed that. He is a supporting character. He doesn’t appear in the movie until an hour in. It was very, very important to me that when he did appear it was with razzle-dazzle."
Michod said that he and Edgerton did an enormous amount of research for the project. "And then we made a whole bunch of stuff up, too,” he said. “The upshot is I sit here now and I kind of honestly can’t remember what’s real, what’s made up and what’s from Shakespeare.”
He continued: "I think he was a bit of a dandy. I think he was quite a bit younger than Rob. Apparently he was hugely fat. Apparently it was historically true that Hal as king offered to fight him one-on-one to settle the score, probably knowing that his offer would be refused."
Michod, who cast Pattinson in his second film The Rover, praised the actor for his career decisions. "I loved working with him. I loved how inventive he was. I loved how hungry he was to make bold choices," said Michod. "I just had this feeling that he would love to sink his teeth into this character because it wasn’t like anything he’d done before."
Writer-director David Michôd delivers entertaining history with The King, his new Netflix movie about Henry V (Timothée Chalamet) and his ascendancy from partying teenager to warrior sovereign. At its Venice Film Festival premiere on Monday, Henry and his sparring partners snared some hearty gasps and laughs — particularly France’s Dauphin, an arrogant and ridiculous prince who provides a steady stream of comedy. A bewigged Robert Pattinson plays the preening, over-dressed Gallic dandy. “I like speaking English,” he sneers in character. “It is a simple, ugly language.”

Rob has a film back in the hands of A24 with Good Time, coming to the US this summer and premiering this month at the Cannes Film Festival, in competition! The distribution company brought The Rover to the screen back in 2014 and they snatched up Good Time last fall. The company has also had recent success winning Best Picture for their film Moonlight at a little known award show called The Oscars. ;)
GQ profiled A24 in an article titled How A24 is Disrupting Hollywood and spoke to some folks that have worked with them about their thoughts on the company's rise. Rob, of course, was totally Rob:

Pattinson: I mean, with Twilight, the first tour we did was literally going to suburban shopping malls and doing local-news stuff. And I think that really helped the movie. But I think in experiences since then, doing mid-budget or relatively low-budget movies, if you try to do a toned-down version of that—I’ve just seen it not work, again and again and again. And so with [The Rover], they took that into account, and instead of blowing loads of money, [they did] more targeted marketing and also really sophisticated online campaigns and stuff. They just seem like they’re the first company that’s really abandoned a lot of the old models.
Pattinson: They’re definitely the place to be now. I mean, I have no idea what they’re doing, really. They’re just on it. They have a very good understanding of the Zeitgeist. You get a movie with them and it represents something. Everybody was talking a few years ago how cinema had died. And I think A24 and companies like that are—you know, people want to go to the cinema. People want to see movies. And I think they’re creating a kind of renaissance in filmmaking. They’re making people want to go to the cinema again to see this kind of stuff, rather than staying at home. People had thought that entire part of the industry had just died. And you can really see over the past few years, it really, really hasn’t at all. And I think it is down to companies like A24.

FISH TALES: “That is one hideous fish,” Robert Pattinson remarked as he gazed up at the 5 foot bronze sculpture looming over the bar at Caviar Kaspia. “It’s a sturgeon,” noted Serge Brunschwig, president at Dior Homme, which was hosting a dinner to celebrate the spring 2017 collection it had presented earlier in the day.
Pattinson, who was front row and posed for innumerable photos, confessed he was “overwhelmed” by the experience, as hectic outside the venue as inside. He noted it wasn’t his first fashion show, however, since he walked one for Hermès when he was only 12. Pattinson, who fronts Dior Homme’s fall campaign, was joined at the event by the faces of the winter spots, including Larry Clark and A$AP Rocky.
