Who knows when we’ll see this film but the trailer looks AMAZING!

I love that Rob's using a British accent! It's so rare. It's not exactly his accent though, non? Love it. :)

Spoiler-free feedback on the High Life premiere at TIFF

Spoiler-free feedback on the High Life premiere at TIFF

We're staying away from reviews and many tweets because it seems you need to see High Life as pure as possible. I already saw one thing I wish I didn't so I'm being careful. DO NOT click on any links in this post if you want to be safe.

The film was quite divisive but aren't we used to Rob picking challenging projects? We roll with it and enjoy his arty artistry. Here are some tweets that are spoiler-free and supportive. Looks like it's gonna be a wild ride!

From People.com:
Robert Pattinson is learning the hard way that not every woman needs rescuing.

The actor stars in Damsel alongside Mia Wasikowska — a western written and directed by David Zellner and Nathan Zellner that throws into question the craziest things people do for love. Pattinson plays Samuel Alabaster, a pioneer who journeys across the country to be with Wasikowska’s Penelope.

But things don’t go according to plan when he gets there, and Penelope welcomes him with the sight of a shotgun pointed straight at him. In the exclusive clip above, the two face off after Pattinson says he bought her a miniature horse because it’s her favorite animal, but she has something else to say about it.

David and Nathan said Pattinson and Wasikowska jumped into the unconventional characters immediately.

“With Rob and Mia, we liked that they’d never done roles like this before and that they were excited about the challenges of the characters and unconventional structure of the film,” the directors tell PEOPLE. “They quickly dialed into the tone we were going for, the balance of humor and pathos, and it made our job easy.”

Thanks Nancy for the heads up!

A24 will release Good Time this summer, August 11th, in the US! This is nice, quick turnaround from the debut of the film at Cannes this month. Love it when a Rob film debuts at a fest and then we don't have to wait long (looking at you, QOTD).
Time to happy dance, Americans!

A24 is back in business with Robert Pattinson and acquires North American distribution for GOOD TIME

The Rover distributor, A24, has picked up another highly anticipated Rob film! The company has swooped up Rob's next big role, Good Time!

From Variety:
A24 has acquired North American rights to “Good Time,” a caper film with Robert Pattinson, Variety has learned.
The film follows a bank robber’s race to evade the police dragnet that threatens to send him behind bars. Josh and Benny Safdie directed the movie from a screenplay by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein. “Good Time” also stars Jennifer Jason-Leigh and Barkhad Abdi.
The Safdie brothers are well known in the indie film community for their work on “Go Get Some Rosemary” and “Heaven Knows What.” Pattinson shot to fame as the brooding vampire in the “Twilight” films. Since accelerating the heart rates of teen girls the world over, he’s used his heartthrob status to get backing for edgier fare, working with David Cronenberg on “Map to the Stars” and “Cosmopolis,” and appearing in the upcoming James Gray drama “Lost City of Z.”
Since The Rover, A24 has continued to gather notable works and made a mark last year during awards season with the film, Room (starring Oscar winner, Brie Larson). They also have some buzzy projects for this award season as well. Click HERE to keep reading the Variety exclusive.

Little is known or seen about the film (the pic in this post is ALL we got during filming and it's not even filming. Click HERE to revisit) so it will be exciting to see how everything unfolds. It's great to see Jennifer Jason-Leigh as a cast member. She's a classic actor and recently gained attention again with her role in Tarantino's The Hateful Eight scoring a supporting actor Oscar nomination. Rob's other co-star, Barked Abdi, has also scored an Oscar nom with his role in Captain Phillips. So this is an exciting bunch! Can't wait to see the film :)))))

We might see Robert Pattinson's Damsel premiering early 2017! Plus filming has wrapped!

The Utah Film Commission reported on Damsel wrapping production in the state and also mentioned it's scheduled to premiere early 2017. It's not a stretch to think we might see SundanceRob. Fingers crossed!

Excerpt:
The Western era comedy, Damsel, wrapped up filming last week and is scheduled to premiere early next year. Robert Pattinson and Mia Wasikowska co-star in this comedy about a man trying to marry the woman of his dreams.

Since Twilight, Pattinson has found a new niche in the art-house world with films like Cosmopoli and The Rover. The Zellner Brothers’ new project, Damsel, fits the bill of art-house, but should be more lighthearted than the former. It was fun having him in our State and by the looks of it, he wears Utah proudly.
It also appears the film has wrapped in Oregon and overall! Congrats, Rob, and we can't wait to see the film!

And now we await the campaign...

...“For me, every picture is a portrait — no matter what I’m doing. From my very old standpoint, I think everything you do should have a meaning,” he says. “The idea [that] it doesn’t is unacceptable to me. A lot of mainstream photographers seem not to think about what they’re doing or feel any responsibility toward anything. And by the time they’re done, the models don’t have any trace of themselves left. This thing about looking young with no wrinkles or expression is all so boring really.”

In the next month or so, his one-minute Lancôme films featuring Cate Blanchett, Lupita Nyong’o, Penelope Cruz and Lily Collins will be released, as well as L’Oréal ones featuring Julianne Moore, Inès de la Fressange and others. Having just shot Robert Pattinson for the new Dior Homme Parfum campaign, Charlize Theron for J’adore Dior and Michelle Williams for Louis Vuitton, Lindbergh said he doesn’t fit the designer mold, “I look more like a plumber, when you see me. Fashion is not my thing.”....

REVIEWS: Robert Pattinson is sharp-tongued and comedic in Herzog's Queen of the Desert!

Berlinale is underway and the reviews for Queen of the Desert are coming in! Rob was not present for the press conference and premiere but you can click HERE if you're interested in the events.

 photo BerlinRobertPattinsonPortrait.jpg

Since Rob is not in Berlin yet (he arrives for Life promo) and we have no pictures of Rob as T.E. Lawrence (the world is cruel), we have to "settle" for this knock out portrait during Berlinale 2012.

Here are the highlights about Rob and we'll be updating as they keep rolling in:

Excerpt from The Independent:
T.E. Lawrence himself appears (played in eccentric, tongue in cheek fashion by Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame)...Pattinson’s performance, meanwhile, is comic and a very long way removed from Peter O'Toole. He plays Lawrence Of Arabia as a sharp-tongued, sardonic figure who can see through the pretensions of his bosses and colleagues.
Excerpt from The Playlist:
In fact, of the actors not overwhelmed by the heavy sense that "we're playing old-timey dudes in old-timey duds," Robert Pattinson (though the duds do sit awkwardly on him), for words about whom, I'll face the fact that probably 75% of the readers of this review will have expressly tuned in, is most surprising. The part is small. He only has a few scenes, but helped by the writing of TE Lawrence as an ego-driven but lighthearted, whimsical brainbox, he actually sounds like he believes he is living in modern times, not some anachronistic recreation. And so even when he has ponderous words to say, such as when he quotes Jefferson's famous, damning line, "I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just," he does so lightly, conversationally — unconvincing costume aside, he lets a little life in.
Excerpt from The Guardian:
Perhaps in flight from her internal emotional turmoil, Bell cultivates her passionate interest in the Bedouin tribesmen and displaces her need for romantic love outwards – into the desert. There she is to encounter Lawrence himself, played boyishly by Robert Pattinson. He looks a little self-conscious in the headdress – though perhaps no more self-conscious than Lawrence himself looked in it. His appearance got a few laughs from the Berlin festival audience, but Pattinson carried off this (minor) role well enough.
Excerpt from The Hollywood Reporter:
The brief but significant appearances of Robert Pattinson as T.E. Lawrence
Excerpt from Criticwire:
Robert Pattinson gets relatively high marks for his brief turn as the bonafide T.E. Lawrence
Excerpt from The People's Movies:
With the exception of Robert Pattinson as T. E. Lawrence, her male counterparts are somewhat lacking.
Excerpt from Indiewire:
The most ironic aspect of the enterprise is that the one man with whom Bell conducts believable, intriguing dealings is the one upon whom her sex-appeal has zero effect: none other than T.E. Lawrence himself, played with a plummy-voiced knowingness by Robert Pattinson. Pattinson doesn't get very much screen time here, but manages to come up with a Lawrence a universe away from Peter O'Toole's iconic portrayal - a kind of proto-Beat rebel in fancy Arab duds - and his dialogue exchanges with Kidman have a little touch of Steed and Mrs. Peel that at least gives their scenes some kind of oomph.
Excerpt from The Film Stage:
She encounters various historical figures, such as T.E. Lawrence (Robert Pattinson, in hilariously pretentious form)

Excerpt from The Playlist:
I believe you said you’d make three films and then evaluate from there, and “Life” is your fourth film. Yeah and for the first three films I made a book about the films because I also [thought they were] going to be my last films. It’s just snapshots with some lighting. But for the fourth film I decided not to do it anymore, so I don’t feel it’s my last film.
That’s interesting there’s no book, just because “Life” has a photography component, with Dennis Stock.I know, and it’s always in the back of your mind because you have the camera ready if there’s a picture I can take anywhere. But you should actually concentrate on other things. And with “Life,” we shot it in the winter in New York and Toronto, and it was the worst winter in 30 years. I have very low blood pressure so I can’t touch these things.
In “Life,” Dane DeHaan will be playing James Dean. How difficult was it to cast someone in that role?It was difficult. Also I think for the actors it’s very difficult to step in his shoes. But Dane DeHaan plays it well. He’s a tremendous actor. I don’t think he wanted to do it initially. He wouldn’t take a meeting with me because he didn’t want to be persuaded. But luckily he came to me and he was persuaded. He’s amazing.
He’s great in “Kill Your Darlings.”Yeah, and “Place Beyond the Pines.” I haven’t seen “Spider-Man [2].” “Lawless” I have seen. And he’s in “Devil’s Knot” and “Life After Beth.” I haven’t seen that. I was in Sundance but I didn’t manage to see a single film.
What about Robert Pattinson’s work in the movie?Rob and Dan very different kind of actors. They’re very, very different kind of people in the film, so it was fantastic. They were so different naturally. For Rob to play a photographer is quite interesting because he’s being chased by photographers all the time. Rob is of course a film star, but he likes to be seen as an actor, so he works very hard to be an actor and be valued as an actor. And in the film he plays this photographer who wants to be seen as a great photographer. So I think there’s a parallel there that’s helpful.
He’s made a lot of interesting acting choices, “Cosmopolis”…...Yeah, “The Rover.” I hear that “Map to the Stars” is a really great film. I am looking forward to seeing it.
I was hoping to see “Life” announced as part of the TIFF 2014 lineup. Yeah, I was hoping that too, but we are too far from finishing, because we finished [shooting] in late October.
Will we see it at on the fall festival circuit anywhere?I reckon it will be 2015.
I'm so so so looking forward to this film in 2015. SO looking forward.

Rob might have caught a motorcycle bug because Peter Facinelli shares with us what's been on ole Rob's mind for a bit. Jet Set caught up with Facinelli last month after he went to The Rover premiere. The Rob mention is at 2:20

I can see Peter doing the "uh huh, yeah, ok, sure". That's good. While he would undoubtable be sexy doing it, motorcycles are crazy dangerous. I swear the stat on bike owners crashing at least once is 100%. Don't quote me on that. ;)
Why would you want to ride a motorcycle, Rob??

Maybe he can ride a Vespa around his neighborhood? A nice scooter.

Ok ok...Peter, you keep going "uh huh, yeah, ok, sure".

It's time for The Rover teaser trailer. Yes the wait is OVER!
I hope you made all those arrangements that you needed to! Get comfortable....................

Here's the synopsis of The Rover:
A post-apocalyptic western about a lone wolf drifter who joins forces with a wounded man to pursue a sadistic band of thieves. A decade after the collapse of the western world, Australia has become a lawless wasteland. As desperate outsiders pillage the country’s precious mineral resources, taciturn Eric (Guy Pearce) travels from town to town searching for signs of life. Then, one day, Eric falls prey to vicious thieves who steal his car. In the process of making their getaway, the thieves abandon Rey (Robert Pattinson), their wounded partner-in-crime. Meanwhile Eric vows to reclaim his most treasures possession by whatever means necessary, and forces Rey to help him track down the men who left him for dead.
WOW well what did you think of that then?
I'm sure you'll agree after looking at this that we are in for one hell of a ride with this movie. I think you can tell even from this small teaser that Rob seems to have the part of vulnerable Rey down to a tee!
And what about the haunting voice of Guy Pearce as Eric saying: "The feeling that you have when you wake up in the morning. When your feet touch the floor. Or before that, when you’re lying there thinking about your feet hitting the floor. What feeling do you have? What does that feel like for you?”
It's such a perfect tease and is definitely leaving us wanting more!
Don't forget to head over to You Tube and give it a big thumbs up.

A24 also released a new still of Guy Pearce as Eric. Head over to our sister site TheRoverFilm to see it.

I made some screencaps of the teaser (like the one below) which you can check out HERE and you can also download zip files of the screencaps at that link too.
