First Glimpse: Good Life with Robert Pattinson

The first glimpse of 'Good Life' the upcoming Safdie brothers film starring Robert Pattinson was spotted in Les Cahiers du Cinéma.

image host

Translation:
Josh and Benny Safdie finished the post-production of 'Good Time'. Like their previous movie 'Heaven knows what' the screenplay is by Josh Safdie and Ronald Bronstein,. It’s a movie about brotherly love between 2 brothers played by Benny Safdie and … Robert Pattinson. Josh Safdie decided to send us this picture in which his brother is in bad shape. "We shot in a real prison in Queens with friends that have criminal records, and some friends of these friends, who got out of jail only a few weeks before filming. It was mad, a kind of Stanford experience but more twisted. We hired former prison guards to play the guards. In fact we completely recreated 'Rikers Island' (the biggest prison in New York). It created a strange energy, menacing. This picture was taken on set in "the day room" with a "3 stars" general from The Bloods (one of the most famous American gangs). A really nice and charismatic guy named Jerome."

So now we know Rob stars with Benny Safdie as his brother!

Robert Pattinson's The Lost City of Z will film Summer 2014!

Robert Pattinson's The Lost City of Z will film Summer 2014!

photo coolstuff.gifAccording to Variety, The Lost City of Z will shoot Summer 2014:
Megan Ellison made a serious splash last year as a major Hollywood player with “Zero Dark Thirty” and “The Master” through her Annapurna Pictures. She’s remained on the radar this year thanks to “Spring Breakers,” Spike Jonze’s “Her,” David O. Russell’s “American Hustle” and Bennett Miller’s “Foxcatcher.” A less-noticed component of Annapurna has been Panorama Media. Launched at Cannes last year to move into the foreign sales arena, it’s enabled Ellison to using foreign pre-sales to cover part of the production costs and be a player in the increasingly vital international market. Panorama, headed by industry vets Marc Butan and Kim Fox, comes to AFM with “Pride and Prejudice and Zombies,” Jessica Chastain’s “The Zookeeper’s Wife” and James Gray’s “Lost City of Z,” starring Robert Pattinson and Benedict Cumberbatch. Butan said Panorama started with a skeleton staff of three. “We formally launched in Cannes last year before we really up to speed, but Megan and Annapurna had such a fantastic slate already.” The execs say they’re laser-focused on adjusting to evolving markets. “The marketplace always changes so 12 months later, it’s always going to be different,” Butan said. “The softness in Europe is making life difficult in every market, whether its consolidation, TV or the economy.” Fox said the evolution of digital platforms has not gained at a fast enough clip to make up for the decline in DVD. “Zookeeper’s Wife” is shooting next year and advance sales have been made in 90% of world markets and “Lost City of Z” is shooting this summer. And Panorama will be starting sales on John Hillcoat’s crime thriller “999.”

EXCLUSIVE: Video & Pics From The Red Carpet & Inside The Cinema At London Breaking Dawn Premiere

EXCLUSIVE: Video & Pics From The Red Carpet & Inside The Cinema At London Breaking Dawn Premiere

I was lucky enough to go to the "Breaking Dawn Part 2" London Premiere on the 14th Novemeber & while I didn't get a pic with Rob (I'm going to believe that will happen eventually ;-}) it was an experience I will never ever forget.

It was my first time at a movie premiere so I wasn't quiet sure what to expect.
I "thought" I videoed a lot more than I did so I want to apologise for that first of all.
I think the time must have stood still when Rob appeared or something :-}

Anyway this first vid is of Rob on the Red Carpet getting pap'd. Sorry for the shakiness ;-} and you might want to turn the volume down a little too

The next vid is when they came Inside The Cinema to introduce the movie. I don't think anyone was expecting them to do this but I decided to record when I saw Bill coming to talk and then when he introduced Judi, Jamie & MyAnna I really didn't think Rob, Kristen & Taylor would be there BUT............. you know what happened.

I need to let you know that I didn't get the few words that Kristen spoke. I don't know WHY (it might be because I was taking pics at the same time, the camera does this, but it's new so I really don't know) but just as Rob finished talking my camera threw up a message saying it was writing to the card & by the time it finished Kristen had finished talking and handed the microphone to Taylor. I don't even know what she said coz I was too busy cursing at my camera but I know it was short.
Also sorry for the camera going up in the air one stage ;-}

Right I'll shut up and let you look at the vid now.

Robert Pattinson takes on another supporting role and MTV says it might be his most important move

Robert Pattinson takes on another supporting role and MTV says it might be his most important move

PhotobucketRob's attachment to Hold On To Me has been garnering some positive feedback and possibly for the reason Empire Online stated, "while it still boasts Mulligan in the lead, it'll also come packing some Pattinson power."

MTV has also weighed in on Rob hopping into a few supporting roles. Other than Mission: Blacklist, Rob will be supporting cast for The Rover, Queen of the Desert and now Hold On To Me. What were MTV's thoughts on this, 'Why Robert Pattinson's Supporting Role May Be His Most Important - Actor maps out his post-'Twilight' career with a supporting role in 'Hold Onto Me,' following in the footsteps of many of his A-list predecessors':
Where Robert Pattinson's popularity is concerned, an argument could be made that he's famous as he's going get. As his star-making "The Twilight Saga" is comes to an end, one big question remains: How will he hold onto his fame and parlay it into a lengthy and continually successful career?
Judging by the qualityprojects he has lined up post-"Twilight," we think Pattinson is making all the right moves thus far, especially in signing up for a supporting role in the Indie-ish drama "Hold Onto Me," which was announced Tuesday. Why go for a supporting role when you don't have to? Well, the part is described as a "flashy" one, and it will find him starring opposite Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan. It's bound to further establish his acting chops, as several other equally famous leading men have done so before him.
Click HERE if you'd like to read about the A-list predecessors MTV paired Rob's supporting choice with: Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Cruise and Mark Wahlberg. Click HERE if you missed the initial announcement of Hold On To Me.

What do you guys think? Do you agree with MTV? Do you see the value of Rob's supporting roles? What is this Pattinson power he runs around packing? ;) Sound off in the DR.

SOLD! Robert Pattinson's artwork, Unfinished City, brings in $6,400 for charity!

SOLD! Robert Pattinson's artwork, Unfinished City, brings in $6,400 for charity!

UPDATE: Page Mackinley from The Inquisitr talked to Tim over the phone and got some more info. Tim was quoted saying the following:
“Robert heard about us through his assistant Jeff [last name omitted by request.] Jeff grew up with Cory Parsons, a key member of the Home Plate Project team.” [along with Luis Calderon.]
“[He was] really excited to create something to help the project,” Emory says.
Bidding began on July 20 and finished midnight, August 31. In a phone call, Emory said early bids for Pattinson’s plate began at $ 150. But after Robsessed — a Robert Pattinson fan site — started publicizing the auction, that figure jumped to $ 1,500 within three hours. Then, things got crazy.
“Bids came in from all over,” says Emory. “There was a worldwide response due to Robert Pattinson’s participation. It’s really what got us all the attention and helped us raise all this money.”
“I’m humbled and excited by how much the [Arizona] community have embraced the project. They not only donated money and services, but their time,” he said. “The fact that a superstar like Robert Pattinson was willing to take the time to do a personal sketch is amazing,” says Emory.
“It took us from a good little project to something that raised over $ 50, 000.”
Asked if Pattinson was aware of the success of the fundraiser and how much his “Unfinished City” plate went for, Emory said the actor was told when the bid hit $ 3000 and that today his assistant texted Pattinson the final, stonker bid.
It's a great write up and ROBsessed is mentioned :) Click HERE to read it in its entirety! I got to say thanks to @lifeloveartfilm who contacted me the evening we first posted about the home plate. She asked me if I thought it was real and that led to me contacting Tim and the rest is history. Tim and Cory are awesome and I'm pretty sure I got Rob two more men to add to his super exclusive male fan base.

While we spearheaded this project within the fandom, pretty much all the major fansites that blog about Rob news posted the initial announcement and helped bring attention to this great cause. We're proud of Rob's talent and we're proud of his fandom that adores him.

Rob's Unfinished City was sold for $6,400!!!

Photobucket

In the home stretch is was CRAZY! Aside from doubling the weeks long stagnant bid of $3,000 in the final hours, the one-of-a-kind artwork went up by $2,000 in the final minutes!

Photobucket

Congratulations to the winner and we hope it's a devoted Rob fan. Either way, the artwork raised a nice amount of money for a worthy cause, Ozanam Manor, championed by the Home Plate Project - Arizona Diamondbacks' fundraising program (D-backs Give Back).

Click HERE if you missed any of the HQ pictures of Rob's art or the information behind his participation.

The Power of Rob cannot be denied!

Robert Pattinson attached to Play T.E. Lawrence In Werner Herzog's Indie "Queen of the Desert"

FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!

The Hollywood Reporter Talks about A fall shoot in Jordan and England being eyed

Photobucket

From The Hollywood Reporter

The "Twilight" actor will play T.E. Lawrence, better known as Lawrence of Arabia.

Robert Pattinson is attached to play Lawrence of Arabia in Queen of the Desert, Werner Herzog’s biopic of Gertrude Bell.

Naomi Watts is starring as Bell, described as the female Lawrence of Arabia for the impact the English woman had in the Middle East and her work in establishing what would become the modern framework for Jordan and Iraq. She was an explorer, writer, archeologist and political attache and during World War I, worked for British Intelligence.

Pattinson will play T.E. Lawrence, the archeologist-turned-British Army officer who played key roles in Middle Eastern revolutions in the same time period and became close friends with Bell. Peter O'Toole portrayed the explorer in the 1962 classic.

Herzog wrote the screenplay. Nick Raslan is producing with Cassian Elwes.

A fall shoot in Jordan and England is being eyed.

The move keeps Pattinson firmly in the world of independent film. One of the world’s most recognizable stars, the actor is this week promoting Cosmopolis, his drama directed by David Cronenberg. He is set to star with Guy Pearce in the post-apocalyptic indie The Rover as well as Mission: Blacklist, an indie thriller about Saddam Hussein’s capture.
From Variety

Just days before "Cosmopolis" opens in limited release, star Robert Pattinson has joined the cast of Werner Herzog's indie "Queen of the Desert," which will star Naomi Watts as English writer Gertrude Bell.

Pic will chronicle Bell's life as a writer, archaeologist, explorer, cartographer and political attache for the British Empire. One of the first women to graduate from Oxford at the turn of the 20th century, she traveled through the Middle East, defining the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Pattinson is attached to play T.E. Lawrence, a British Army officer whose writing earned him international fame as Lawrence of Arabia, on whom David Lean's classic 1962 epic is based. Lawrence was a good friend to Bell over the years, as the duo helped establish the Hashemite dynasties in Jordan and Iraq.

Cassian Elwes and Nick Raslan (Herzog's "Rescue Dawn") are producing the pic, which is aiming to start production in late fall

BEL AMI had its World Premiere as an Official Selection of last month’s 62nd Berlin International Film Festival.

The Guardian (UK) calls Robert Pattinson & David Cronenberg pairing "pretty special" + Bel Ami and Cosmopolis make 2012 lists

The Guardian (UK) calls Robert Pattinson & David Cronenberg pairing "pretty special" + Bel Ami and Cosmopolis make 2012 lists

Photobucket

From The Guardian:
Robert Pattinson already looks to be forging the most interesting post-Twilight career of its leads, and here he teams up with David Cronenberg for an adaptation of Don DeLillo’s 2003 novel. Cosmopolis is a modern answer to Joyce’s Ulysses: one day in the life of asset manager Eric Packer, who loses billions of dollars in the financial markets in a 24-hour period as his limo traverses New York.

The Guardian also posted about the futures of Harry Potter & Twilight stars. Here is the excerpt about Rob:
Arguably, it's Pattinson who looks to be making the most interesting moves. At 25, he's the oldest, and cut his teeth as Cedric Diggory in the Potter films. In the past he has demonstrated a literary/artistic bent (he played Salvador Dalí in his last pre-Twilight film, Little Ashes), and he's going down that road again next year, with Bel Ami (released 2 March), an adaptation of the Maupassant novel. Later in the year we should be getting Cosmopolis, another literary adaptation (of Don DeLillo's 2003 novel), which has Pattinson as a mega-rich asset manager stuck in a limo for 24 hours. The director is David Cronenberg, so chances are this will be pretty special.

Photobucket

The Independent listed Bel Ami & Cosmopolis as unmissable cultural treats in 2012:
Bel Ami

Twilight's Robert Pattinson plays an unscrupulous journalist on the make in 19th century Paris in an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's novel directed by Declan Donnellan and Nick Ormerod (from theatre company Cheek by Jowl.) Long before phone hacking and the Leveson Inquiry, the film shows that journalists were using the most devious means to get ahead.

Release date: 2 March

Cosmopolis

A multi-millionaire young stockbroker heads across Manhattan in a limousine to have a haircut. It may not sound like much of a starting point for a film but David Cronenberg's screen version of Don DeLillo's novel promises to be a sleek and disturbing satire about narcissism and modernity. Robert Pattinson stars as the self-absorbed anti-hero.

Release date: TBC
Cosmopolis made MovieHole's top 25 most anticipated films of 2012. Cosmopolis is #7 :)
7. Cosmopolis

Say what you will, Robert Pattinson is the still clandestine talent of the Twilight franchise. Coupled with director David Cronenberg, he might finally be able to convince the cynics of that.
