VIDEOS: Robert Pattinson talks boxer briefs, Princess Leia, his father role and hoping we all stick with him post-Twilight

VIDEOS: Robert Pattinson talks boxer briefs, Princess Leia, his father role and hoping we all stick with him post-Twilight

UPDATE: Added a video at the bottom of Mackenzie talking about Rob and Kristen as parents

Here's another batch of good interviews.

OnTheRedCarpet: This one is great. Rob has the man-giggles on show but towards the end when he's talking about his future, he mentions he feels he's a good judge of material and hopes Twilight fans will stick with him. He also recognizes that the fans follow the other projects he does. GOOD! We're in this for the long haul. The DR is a permanent dwelling. ;)

Yahoo: Rob mentions boxer briefs here and that's always fun. The question happens at 1:54 and Rob is right after Kellan answers. The second Rob part is just after Taylor when they ask Rob if he digs classic Princess Leia look or Gold Bikini Leia. Which one do you think he chooses?

ShowBiz411: Rob talks about not really having to fill the dad role much in the film. I doubt that. We're all going to be piles of goo with the lullaby... *sigh*

New Q&A interview with Robert Pattinson for L'Express (France)

New Q&A interview with Robert Pattinson for L'Express (France)

I did a google translation until we get something better:

Robert Pattinson, if you were ...

Young English actor, star of Twilight takes the top billing in Water for Elephants. Cosmopolis Meanwhile, the next Cronenberg ...

If you were a place ... The South Bank in London. Between the Hayward Gallery, National Theatre and all other activities, I will not ever bother. I would also say New York to the breathtaking skyline formed by the buildings and the fast pace of this city, whatever time of day.

A cartoonist... Ralph Steadman, illustrator of texts delusional Highway Gonzo, Hunter S. Thompson. His line is simple and disturbed never leave me indifferent. The other reason is, perhaps, that I can draw almost like him!

A dish of childhood ... The boiled eggs with salt on the side and toast at your fingertips. Inevitably, this makes me feel like Saturday, when my mother was preparing this dish. I'm a bit nostalgic for that period.

An animal ... An elephant. It is an intelligent animal and soothing. On one incredible dexterity. I learned a lot from him while working on the film. I would also add the giraffe, since I had the opportunity to play with a baby giraffe barely bigger than me. Their black tongue surprised.

An era ... I am a big fan of music and clothing style of the 1960s. Whether in England or the United States, while I like this period.

An album of music ... It is difficult to choose one. I give you my top 5: Night Train Oscar Peterson, One Love by Bob Marley & The Wailers, Moondance, Van Morrison, Abbey Road, Beatles, and Enter The Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), the Wu-Tang Clan. They tell me all their own way.

An artist ... The man-cannon at the circus. I like the risk. I love having the feeling of flying. Being a woman shaving I would not mind either. To avoid having to shave!

A book ... Money, Money, Martin Amis. I read when I was 15, I read hundreds of times since and he continues to make me howl with laughter. Amis has managed to create a world that is both funny and biting. I'd love to play John Self, the hero depraved and without illusions he has created.

An essential garment ... Without hesitation, the underwear: it's really the only piece you need! Here and sunglasses, which are an accessory that I love! At home, I am constantly in that outfit. (Tink: o.O)

A quote ... "Mistakes are the doors of discovery", by James Joyce. In a similar register: "A man, it can be destroyed but not defeated" by Ernest Hemingway. Both remind me that our biggest mistakes are the experiences that we learn the most. And gives hope to improve, everyone, the desire to live the next day, right?

Sneak Peek at Robert Pattinson on The Ellen Show

Robert Pattinson taped The Ellen Show today and it will air Wednesday, April 20th. Check out this first still and clip from the show plus a mini glimpse into the convo from the always entertaining Rob with the always entertaining, Ellen DeGeneres.

From Celebuzz:

What we wouldn’t give to have been on set THAT day!

Robert Pattinson continues his press tour for Water for Elephants by stopping by The Ellen DeGeneres Show airing Wednesday, to discuss his, um, unmentionables.

The Twilight star revealed to Ellen DeGeneres that he had a wardrobe malfunction — in a pair of Ellen-branded undies! RPattz explained he was down to his last pair of underwear, and chose to wear a pair Ellen had recently given him on set.

He told the talk show host, “I only had one pair left and they were those ones (“Ellen” underwear). We were doing this big fight screen and for some reason I think the shape of my body, my back is too long or something. So my a** is constantly hanging out!”

He added, “Every single shot we were doing this big fight and every shot has these Ellen underpants. It came to a point where producers are calling up my agent going, ‘I don’t know what he is up to but I don’t like it!’”

Ellen rewarded him with a gift of (what else?) a basket full of Ellen underwear! The full episode airs Wednesday, April 20th.

Popsugar gave us a glimpse of this oh-so-boring talk about Rob, his arse, and underpants. ;)

GAH! Could he BE any cuter hugging the basket of underpants??? Love him. :)

Robert Pattinson Talks About His Underpants (And More)

Robert Pattinson really seems to love those 1930's underpants. He just can't stop taling about them.

Listen Below

With his new film Water For Elephants, Robert Pattinson stars as Jacob circus veterinarian who falls in love with Marlena (Reese Witherspoon), the wife of an ill-tempered ringmaster (Christoph Waltz). Based on Sara Gruen’s bestselling Depression-era set novel, the picture was directed by Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend) and shot by renowned cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto (Amores Perros, Brokeback Mountain).

“I think it definitely has a lot of romantic elements to it,” said Pattinson, when asked what his fans should love about Water For Elephants. “I think it’s a pretty beautiful movie, I think it’s different to a lot of other stuff that’s come out. I haven’t seen anything like it in a few years. When I was making it I felt like I was being transported somewhere else and hopefully that will be captured in the movie.”

Jacqueline West Talks About Robert Pattinson & His Love For His 1930's Underwear

Underwear & Robert Pattinson in the same sentance. Are they trying to kill us?

Photobucket

From a dapper black tux to grungy combat boots, Robert Pattinson dons plenty of handsome looks in the upcoming flick, "Water for Elephants." So, really, who would have guessed that his pièce de résistance on set was none other than 1930s-style underwear!

Yes, that’s right. Period underwear. Rob had to wear them to get in character for "WFE," and apparently he was a big fan, according to costume designer Jacqueline West.

"He loved that I had period underwear for him," she told Hollywood Crush recently (no doubt sparking the envy of girls EVERYWHERE). (Kate: Ah ya just a bit!!) "Yes, and he loved putting that on every morning before he put his costume on, (Kate: Tries to get image out of my mind. Nope not working) you know, he said that in his trailer, and he said it made him, it transported him to the '30s. He said he got out of bed feeling like a different person."

The underpants, along with his other period costumes, helped Rob step into the role of Jacob Jankowski, a vet student who joins the circus during the Great Depression after losing his parents, Jacqueline shared.

"I can see Rob, who is very languid, he’s very modern in his movements and he’s very cool. I could see him sort of kind of become Jacob and become a '30s young man, who was, you know, gonna work hard to carve an existence in this circus," she said.

Sorry, we're still stuck on her description of languid, modern and cool Rob. (Kate: I'm still stuck on him getting into his underpants ;-o)

Sigh. Okay, now moving on.

Jacqueline also added that Rob, who was "manlier" than she expected (more on that next week!), carried the clothes very well. (Kate: STOP IT! I can't take anymore.)

"He would wear clothes so beautifully and you would see kind of a transformation, you know. If he put on those World War I combat boots, his work boots, you can see him stand differently. And I could tell, Rob would say, 'Oh, this really feels right. This feels great.'"

As for whether or not Rob's undies make a cameo in the film, Jacqueline hasn't seen the final cut to know, so you're just gonna have to wait until the movie comes out on April 22 to find out! (Kate: Well I'm thinking why would you bother with 1930's undies if they're not gonna be seen, right? :-D)

Robert Pattinson's Look Inspires Range Of M&S Underpants

Robert Pattinson's Look Inspires Range Of M&S Underpants

I'm not quiet sure if this is what Rob was aiming for.

When you look at Rob do you think underpants? (or do you think I wish those underpants would fall just a little bit lower down........)

Photobucket

Drooooooooooooooool {snap out of it}
Huh ??? oh ya as I was saying, what was I saying ??
Oh ya Rob's underpants.
They're nice aren't they? No that's not what I was saying.
Oh yes Rob's look inspires underpants or at least for the people at M&S it does.

I think it's time you started shopping somewhere else for your underwear Rob.

From Guardian.co.uk
A teenage vampire is not the obvious choice of inspiration for a range of men's underpants. But Robert Pattinson, or R Patz as the star of The Twilight Saga is known by fans, has been named as the inspiration behind Marks and Spencer's new slim-fit underwear.

Dubbed the R-Pant, the low-rise briefs and trunks are designed to be worn under skinny jeans and trousers, a look popularised by the likes of Russell Brand and Mark Ronson, two celebrities the chain cites as design influences.
