VIDEO: Guy Pearce praises Robert Pattinson's musical skills - Rob's "a really great songwriter"

Guy Pearce is releasing his debut album and during an interview, he gave Rob some enthused praise for his songwriting skills and mentioned how they were able to play together on The Rover. Excerpt from Daily Telegraph:
The actor has revealed he jammed with Russell Crowe when they worked together on L.A. Confidential and years later, he sang with co-star in The Rover Robert Pattinson, who he describes as a “great songwriter”.
“We had a few good plays,” said Pearce of his music sessions with Crowe. “I mean I’m not a great guitarist to be honest, Russell’s a much more formidable guitarist than I am, but we sat and compared notes and played a few songs together at times”.
“You know I’ve done that with a few actors along the way — Rob Pattinson is a really great songwriter, so on the road we had a bit of time together playing music.”

From The Daily Telegraph

A year after helping Hollywood heart-throb Robert Pattinson reconnect with an Aussie-based school mate, Charlie Bowman, we can now report the Water For Elephants star has finally caught up with his old friend in Sydney - and we take full credit.

"If Charlie is reading this, tell him to call me," Pattinson asked us in an interview last year, referring to Melbourne-based Bowman, with whom he lost contact after shutting down his Facebook page.

"Tell him to call my mum, because he's probably still got that number."

With our help, the pair got in touch again, and on Friday night they dined at Bondi's Icebergs.

"Was that you I spoke to?" Pattinson asked us when we spoke to the British actor on the red carpet on Friday night.

"Thanks for that. I plan to meet up with him later tonight."

Sweet story, right? I have an encounter story with Rob that I never really talked about. I forgot I didn't share it until I talked to Kate about this story earlier today. She had no idea what I was saying and it dawned on me that I made my video private and kept it in the closet. Well...I'll share the story now along with the video that makes me 1st hand embarrassed.

Tink's umpteenth Rob encounter after the cut (don't hate me and tell me I can't have anymore encounters because I'd die)

Our lovely reader Elaine emailed and told us about it so I ran out and found it and scanned it for you all.
I haven't read it myself yet but he talks about his dog at the start.
I think he's well and truly smitten!

Thanks again to Elaine for the tip!

GIVEN Twilight's phenomenal international success, it's hard to imagine the next instalment of the vampire flicks could be a box office flop.

But Robert Pattinson isn't taking anything for granted on the eve of the release of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

"To be honest, I'm more terrified that it's going to come out and no one's going to see it," Pattinson said. (Kate: Don't think there;s much chance of that happening Rob LOL)

Speaking on the phone whilst driving on a Californian highway, Pattinson is refreshingly down to earth, far removed from the hype that surrounds his Hollywood hunk status. His American twang from Twilight is replaced by his polite and friendly British tones and he seems genuinely keen for a chat - despite his reputation for being as brooding as his Twilight persona, the mysterious Edward Cullen.

He sounds kind of flattered, although wary, when this Insider admits to being an avid Twilight fan. (Kate: {giggle} I wonder why he's wary?)

Daniel Cudmore talks about Robert Pattinson

The physical role included a fight scene with Robert Pattinson, who plays Edward.

Pattinson is a heartthrob to Twilight fans the world over, but Cudmore said the handsome actor was keen to do as much of his own stunt work as possible.

"Rob's a great guy, he's really game for anything," Cudmore said.

"He was nervous at first, because he was like, `you know I'm not the most athletic guy out there, I don't think I'm going to be able to do this'.

"After rehearsing for a few hours he was really, really having a good time with it. He had a blast."
