Wish He Was Mine Wednesday With Robert Pattinson

I'm a sucker for photoshoots and have to admit I'm always wishing he was mine after a new one come out. You KNOW you all do too. That's part of the reason we're here... right?

Look at yesterday surprise with all the new photoshoot goodness... knowing there are outtakes that could pop up at any moment. Burst!

Then there was this one. Such mixed feelings... it was either loved or, dare I say it, hated!

 photo RobertPattinsonPremiere.jpg
Me personally? I loved it. Made me Wish He Was Mine just so I could ask him, really ask him, about this shoot and the meaning behind the madness.

Plus, just look at him!

UPDATE: 2 more print interviews under the cut! Love what the HuffPo interviewer said about the Pretty Girl Rock scene. If you watched our press con videos and heard our questions/comments, you KNOW we take issue with how the scene is being reported. I'm soulmates with the HuffPo interviewer. And Rob of course. ;)
The second interviewer has some cool quotes about Rob's full body acting with Rey's look and more!

These gems almost got away from us! They came out during the premiere and FeistyAngel gave us the heads up about the new stills found in The Short List magazine, an extension of the Sydney Morning Herald.

Not only do we get these fantastic stills of Rob from The Rover but the interview is really good too. He talks about Life and why he wanted to play Dennis Stock. Idol's Eye and The Childhood of a Leader get a mention too, the latter said to film in September.

FIRST STILL Of Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce In "The Rover"

UPDATED: Added EW's First Look
FIRST STILL Of Robert Pattinson & Guy Pearce In "The Rover"

GAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Is anyone else super excited for this movie?
Make sure and read the article underneath, some great quotes from David Michod about Rob's character Rey.

From Entertainment Weekly:

Australia was founded as a repository for crooks and criminals — a wretched hive of scum and villainy, like the British Empire’s own Mos Eisley. Of course, that was a long time ago and the Australian national demeanor has since shifted from “kill or be killed” to “live and let live,” but David Michôd’s gritty 2010 drama Animal Kingdom chronicled some of the country’s more modern criminal descendents. In his upcoming sophomore effort, The Rover, the director takes things even further.
Robert Pattinson plays a denizen of the Outback in the near future, after a worldwide financial collapse has sent many like him running to the still viable mines of the Australian desert. “It’s like a new gold rush,” says Michôd. “Where people from all corners of the world have come out to the desert to scrape out an existence. Petty criminals and miscreants and hustlers.” Guy Pearce, who had an uncharacteristically reserved role in Animal Kingdom, gets to sink his teeth into a nicely nasty part opposite Pattinson. “The basic story is really quite elemental,” says Michôd. “You’ve got a really dark, dangerous, murderous person in Guy’s character, and in Rob’s character you have a quite troubled and damaged, but beautiful and naïve, soul.”
Of course, just by its setting and basic plot, The Rover is poised to draw comparisons to one of the antipodean country’s most memorable cinematic contributions. “You put cars in the desert in Australia and people are going to think of Mad Max,” says Michôd. “And with all due respect to that film — and I stress that — I think The Rover is going to be way more chillingly authentic and menacing.”

'The Rover' producer talks about Robert Pattinson's involvement, production date & more

Great read! We get a little more insight into the film and the plans for bringing this story to life.

From if.com (Australia):
Producer Liz Watts is calling David Michod’s new film The Rover “a dirty and dangerous near-future western set in the Australian desert”.

She confirmed what the Internet is buzzing about: that Guy Pearce and Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson are in discussions to play, respectively, a man in pursuit of the people who stole his car and the brother of one of the thieves in Michod's follow-up to Animal Kingdom.

Reluctantly, Watts also added a few more details: it is hoped that The Rover will go into production late in the year and discussions about the project started 18 months ago between Michod and US producer David Linde.

Last year Linde opened the production and financing outfit Lava Bear Films with backing from Reliance Entertainment. At the time the company announced it had a first-look deal with Universal Pictures for the US and other significant international territories. Linde was, at one time, co-chair of Universal.

Linde is producing with Watts of Porchlight Films and Lava Bear president Tory Metzger will also be prominent in the credits.

Watts said that Libby Sharpe will act as line producer and the intention was to claim the producer offset.

Michod wrote the script based on an idea dreamt up by he and Joel Edgerton, one of Michod’s six partners in the Sydney-based film collective Blue-Tongue Films.

Jacqueline West Likes Robert Pattinson "Dirty"

Yes Jacqueline I have to agree I like him "durrrrrrrrrty" too.

Huh? What do you mean she doesn't mean that kind of dirty.

She told MTV that Robert Pattinson "really dirties up well" and that it's "great to see him dirty and sweaty and dusty"

Oh she means that type of dirty! Oh that's ok too, I'll take Rob dirty and sweaty and dusty ;-)

Read below for more of what she said.

Photobucket

From MTV

There's no denying Robert Pattinson has a certain something. Experts have tried to pinpoint the precise formula for his unique brand of awesome (unkempt hair + self-effacing personality = the man of our dreams?), but the magical recipe continues to allude. Being the benevolent blog that we are, we decided to aid the scientific community by asking someone who's got loads of personal insight—"Water for Elephants" costume designer Jacqueline West.

You see, Jacqueline gave Rob his favorite pair of 1930s underpants, and we figured, who better than the woman who dressed him (figuratively at least!) to give us some dish. Jacqueline spoke to us about Rob's cool style off set and how his physique was different than what she expected after seeing "Twilight."

"You know, he’s very casual. He wears jeans and hoodies and tennis shoes, but he has a really, really nice style," she said. "Everything is well selected, but he’s very casual. He is a jeans and T-shirt, sweatshirt kind of guy." In other words, totally our type (hear that Rob?).

Jacqueline also added that Rob cleans up "nicely" but that she prefers his "dirtied" up look in the flick. (Kate: So do we Jacqueline ;-})

"This movie, I used to tell friends, 'he really dirties up well.' We've all seen him...used to seeing him so scrubbed and clean in the 'Twilight' movies. It's great to see him dirty and sweaty and dusty and really in working clothes," she said (as if we needed another reason to go out and buy a ticket for the movie). "It was a nice transformation and it made him such a different person than the other films I've seen him in."

Speaking off those other films, Jacqueline said that she watched "Twilight" to get a sense of Rob's body shape but that it didn't really do justice to his physique.

"I didn't realize from the 'Twilight' movies how really manly he is. I didn't realize until I really met Rob in person how really manly I could make his wardrobe and that he would be able to wear it so well," she said. "I didn't know how big he is. He's really like a Gary Cooper or someone like that, he has incredible stature."

A manlier, dirtier Rob? Don't mind if we do.
