Robert Pattinson's next project named and stars Scarlett Johansson and Philip Seymour Hoffman?

Robert Pattinson's next project named and stars Scarlett Johansson and Philip Seymour Hoffman?

UPDATE: Original source was reporter, Sharon Waxman, from The Wrap (via) who is in Cannes. Hopefully more unfolds soon. Soon as in now. :)

Excerpt from Yahoo, reporting on the Cannes Film Festival events and Lawless premiere:
[Michael] Benaroya, who co-produced “Margin Call” last year, is fully financing “Kill Your Darlings,” a $4 million thriller with Daniel Radcliffe and Michael C. Hall about young beat poets Allen Ginsburg and Jack Kerouac and a murder.

And he's also financing the $11 million “Hate Mail,” with Scarlett Johansson, Robert Pattinson and Philip Seymour Hall Hoffman. And he executive produced “The Paperboy,” also screening in competition in Cannes.

That's a lot of money to be throwing down. Benaroya, apart from noting that he's only lost money on one movie he's made thus far, said he likes to gamble.

“I'm a serious poker player," he said. "People like to underestimate me: ‘You look 25. You look like a nice guy. I'm gonna take you for everything you've got.' They're often surprised when they don't.”
The always reliable (that was sarcastic) IMDb says the film is slated to film this Spring (isn't Spring over in a month) and the summary is:
A Manhattan-set story centered around people who receive hate mail and the subsequent effects on their relationships.
Benaroya is a producer for Lawless which had its premiere at Cannes today (yesterday on French time). I don't know anything else.....it drives me crazy! This is very fresh...don't go getting tattoos to support the project just yet.

RUMOR: Robert Pattinson naked on Cosmoplis set?

RUMOR: Robert Pattinson naked on Cosmoplis set?

Ok, Rob...start with the pants...take it ALLLLL off...

Photobucket

Now I wasn't even going to go there. I don't like posting things like this because there's NO way to prove it and you just know these stories spiral out of control. It's a tease!!!

However, the author of the following information tweeted me back after my initial skepticism. I admired their insistence. So let's have fun with it and venture into fantasyland.

Honestly, it's not a stretch if you've read Cosmopolis. ;)

My VERY reliable source tells me that yesterday (June 27, 2011) Robert Pattinson spent naked for about 12 hours save for something covering his privates on the set of Cosmopolis shooting scenes. (Tink: and I die immediately)

As soon as this source said the words naked with Robert Pattinson’s name in the same sentence I kind of blanked out and started drooling a little (lot). I think RPattz was in bed for the majority of that time (clearly it was an in-the-studio shoot) but I can’t be 100% sure. My source? I am totally 100% sure about.

I asked if Robert Pattinson was embarrassed to be laying about with his junk barely covered and source said ‘not at all’ and that RPattz was very cool. (Tink: If he's so not embarrassed, why doesn't he walk around naked in the the streets holding his privates? Huh?)

In fact source told me that RPattz is ‘the nicest guy, very level-headed and not at all affected by show business’. (Tink: Again, proof that he should just walk around naked in the streets. Him not walking around naked proves he's affected by show biz.)

The set of Cosmopolis itself is an amazing place to be (as I’ve heard from others). Oh, and because the source knows how I love dogs, told me that RPattz’s rescue dog is getting so big and is as big a sweetheart just like its owner. (Tink: Awww....Bear gets a shout out. Difficult to concentrate though on cute Bear when the post is about Rob being naked.)

Not earth-shattering news, (Tink: um....yes it is! my earth is a pile of broken glass, everywhere) but just one more reason to wait anxiously for Cosmopolis to hit theatres. Let’s just hope David Cronenberg (who I’m told is amazing) doesn’t CUT those scenes out or down (although I don’t think I can expect the full 12 hours of a naked Robert Pattinson in the film). (Tink: Does DC know we would never leave the theater if he released 12 hours of naked Rob? Do the studios realize THIS is the golden ticket?)
Here is my tweet convo with Dreamweaver (my affectionate nickname for her that I made up just now) that made me say it was post worthy:
Me: oh god i wish this was true
Dreamweaver: it is true...my source is reliable...very reliable
Me: u know i cant believe you right? but i enjoyed your post nonetheless :)) its a lovely thing to imagine *sigh*
Dreamweaver: lol perhaps we should wager a bet??
Me
: i'll bet u anything if u can prove THAT.
Dreamweaver: I personally don't have the evidence (I wasn't there) but I would bet my dogs' lives (and they r like kids 2 me) that it's true. THAT'S how reliable my source is
Me: but i dont even know u. u dont know me. ive never seen your blog before. ur avi is too cute but it could be fake. im not really MY avi ;) im just a cynic about this stuff. ignore me ;) i really DID like reading it. i wish i could post it. maybe i will for fun ;)
Dreamweaver: Lol I totally understand your skepticism..trust me I do..and I'm not going to try to convince u..that's cool I know the truth xo
Me: i wish i knew the truth. im jealous of the truth your source knows. oh what they must have seeeeeeeen. O.o
Dreamweaver: lol I don't think my source 'saw' what I would have hoped to see hehe
Me: so much teeeeeasing. *turns on fan*
Dreamweaver: LOL
Me: you laugh. you know this is no laughing matter. very serious. Rob naked is the holy grail. well...there are a couple holy grails but this is a big one. mustn't joke about the big one.
Dreamweaver: HAHA I would NEVER joke about the big one...never

Well. My mind is telling me no....but my body....my body is telling me yes. ;)

Believe at your own peril. I'm already spinning out of control. MAYDAY! MAYDAY!

Jeff Buckley biopic loses Robert Pattinson? A tale of lies, lies, and one truth

Jeff Buckley biopic loses Robert Pattinson? A tale of lies, lies, and one truth

A reader emailed us and asked why were weren't covering this story. Ok. We'll cover it now that we have information from a credible news source about what's REALLY going on.

Yesterday, the slayers of truth, Hollywood Life spewed this:

Poor Robert Pattinson! The actor was working hard to score the role of Jeff Buckley, the famous musician who died young at age 30, in a biopic movie about his life. Gossip Girl star Penn Badgley snagged the part instead, a source exclusively tells HollywoodLife.com. “Robert Pattinson is devastated he’s lost out on the one role he really wanted,” says our insider. “It was down to Rob, James Franco and Penn for the part, and Rob was really pushing himself to get it.”

Our source continues, “Rob hasn’t heard ‘no’ a lot lately, so he’s really bummed. He was passionate about this project.” Things were looking good for Rob, who was reportedly “obsessed” with landing the lead. Jeff Buckley’s mother and executive producer of the movie Mary Guibert, 62, even weighed in, saying “Robert is a fine young actor. I’m flattered he’s been linked to this project. When the time comes we’ll give everybody an opportunity to be seen and heard.” Producer Michelle Sy confirmed Rob was “keen” on the part as well, and also revealed they are looking for someone who can “play music and sing”.

Although Rob is disappointed he didn’t get the role, Penn is over the moon. “Penn is thrilled to get this role and thinks it’s the film of a lifetime,” our insider confesses. “He’s been trying to push out of the ‘Gossip Girl’ image and knows this film will be the perfect opportunity to do so.” Congrats Penn!

Jake Scott is set to direct and Ryan Jaffe is writing the script for the highly anticipated movie.

My eyes rolled so hard, I'm STILL trying to get them to focus straight ahead. We went all day yesterday and into today with no confirmation from a credible source. E!'s resident truth slayer, Ted, reported on the nonsense today. Same garbage as above. Painting the picture of a "poor Robert Pattinson".

Well well well...Los Angeles Times swooped in and crashed this spin cycle:

New rumors swirling around the long-awaited Jeff Buckley biopic have falsely pitted actor Penn Badgley as the lead in the film about the late singer-songwriter. According to the film's co-producer, Orian Williams, the gossip surrounding the "Gossip Girl" star is compounded on further inaccuracies that "Twilight" heartthrob Robert Pattinson had been considered a shoe-in for the role of the enigmatic singer-songwriter.

"Penn is not involved in the film at all," Williams said in a phone interview. "It's crazy how these stories get out." When asked about Pattinson's involvement with the film, Williams said that although he's a fan of the British actor, he'd only had preliminary meetings with Pattinson, who was interested in auditioning for the film project, now almost six years in the making. Williams, along with producer Michelle Sy, casting director Billy Hopkins and executive producer Mary Guibert, Buckley's mother, are still seeking out actors for the casting process, which will likely begin in October, Williams said.

Most likely, the film will star an unknown actor who can portray Buckley without the weight of any preconceived Hollywood expectations, added Williams, who helped cast Sam Riley in the lead role of Ian Curtis in the 2007 biopic "Control" about the Joy Division front man. Williams said he's hoping to follow the same standards of finding someone with a low profile who can deliver Buckley's intense personality and haunting falsetto. "[The producers] are all very unified in our search to find the perfect person to play Jeff," Williams said.

Currently, the film is set to shoot in New York and Tennessee, where the story largely takes place. Though he rebuts rumors regarding the part of Buckley, Williams said that all kinds of actors and musicians have expressed interest in auditioning.

"When you have a story about an individual like Jeff you get a lot of interest because his life was so impactful and so short," Williams said.

Buckley was 30 when he drowned in May 1997 after deciding to go swimming in Wolf River Harbor, a slack water channel of the Mississippi River. News of a film about his life circulated as early as 2006, two years before Williams came to the project. Williams said that though the film has had a long gestation period, many measures have been taken to make sure that the foundation and intentions are authentic.

"We’re being very careful about it as we move forward," Williams said. “It takes a while to perfect this type of film. You’ve got to do it for the right reasons.”

So there we have it. We do not know if Rob feels this is the role of a lifetime so I resent the media painting it as Rob chasing this role down and losing. Please. He has briefly mentioned it before, most recently in this interivew with USA Today during WFE promo.

There we go. Rob's words. No assumptions about his feelings needed. I know I wanted Rob in a role like this because I want his music. HIS music. But all in due time. We'll support whatever Rob's next project is and bitchface anyone that claims he's losing anything. More like, a film loses if they don't get Robert Pattinson.

Robert Pattinson Will Have Quickies with Multiple People

Okay the article says NOTHING about Rob having quickies with anyone but since everyone seems to be creating some kind of "drama" or "scandal" about Rob I thought I'd chip in! Pffffft! Being responsible is so overrated!

From Marc Malkin who is one of the sanest people on E!:

We've got some good and some bad news today for Robert Pattinson fans.

First the bad: We've unfortunately officially confirmed that Rob will not be spending too much time stateside to promote his upcoming flick Remember Me.

And now the good news...

Pattinson can't be here too long because he's all over Bel Ami, the movie he's currently filming in Europe with Uma Thurman, Christina Ricci and Kristin Scott Thomas.

"He is in every scene of [Bel Ami], so he is getting out once to go to New York for the press junket premiere and talk shows," a rep for Remember Me tells us.

Cameras reportedly began rolling on Bel Ami earlier this week in London. In this movie adaptation of French writer Guy de Maupassant's 1885 novel of the same name, Pattinson plays a Parisian journalist who gains power in the city through the manipulation of some very wealthy women.
