Robert Pattinson's The Rover makes must-see lists and his "superb performance" continues to be praised!

Robert Pattinson's The Rover makes must-see lists and his "superb performance" continues to be praised!

Access Hollywood had a must-see summer indie movie segment on yesterday and I loved seeing Alicia Malone give The Rover some love. If you don't know Alicia Malone, check out her past Rob interviews HERE.

Entertainment Weekly also included The Rover on their must-see summer art-house movie list, saying "both actors astound."

Check out more reviews that we liked for The Rover and you can always catch up HERE, under our The Rover Reviews tag.

The Upcoming (5 stars)
The strength of this movie is its setting in a near-apocalyptic future yet not so far from what our actual world is becoming. The movie is very minimalist, and so is the language, which leads to amazing performances, especially from Pearce and Pattinson. They’re strong, fragile, sad and angry at the same time. The tension between them is there all along, yet they manage to create a beautiful relationship from their two broken souls.
From the score to the cinematography, from the lights to the framing, from the script to the choice of the cast, everything hails Michôd’s work as a great achievement.
Total Film:
The technical credits are first-rate and both Pearce and Pattinson convince in their roles, the former mad-eyed and clenched, the latter confused of mind and slurred of tongue and possessed of a touching purity. Between this and his work for David Cronenberg, Pattinson is suggesting his career post-Twilight will sparkle like Edward Cullen’s skin. Michod, meanwhile, confirms he’s a filmmaker of considerable talents.
FMV magazine (3.5 stars):
Scoot McNairy is good as Henry, the leader of the gang who will protect himself at all costs but it’s Robert Pattinson, who is almost unrecognizable, finally realising his potential with a superb performance as Henry’s brother, Rey. Hopefully he will be remembered for portrayals like this rather than that vampire bloke in Twilight franchise
Letterboxd (4 stars):
Tough, gritty and quietly powerful, this film not only delivers great Guy Pearce and surprising Robert Pattinson performances
Film School Rejects (B):
A critical retroactive sadness to Pearce’s steely determination. That flinty persona clashes well with Pattinson’s desperately thuggish demeanor, the hardened man tolerating the hapless boy.

Alicia asks Rob if it was satisfying to see Kristen struggle to play a vampire and how it felt playing a more chillaxed Edward.
Rob's bits are at 1:18 & 2:14
My favourite quote from the interview "Edward's got his thumb out of his butt"......... Oh Rob {giggles}

Tweets and tumbles about Robert Pattinson: The latest in little mentions and film news

Tweets and tumbles about Robert Pattinson: The latest in little mentions and film news

We have a mini smorgasbord of info for you guys. First up is a fun picture and tweet from Alicia Malone who got to interview Rob during the Breaking Dawn Part 2 press junket in Los Angeles:
Rob Pattinson took my fist bump explosion move to a whole other level... And I appreciated it.

Just when we think we can't love him any more, right???? Too too cute and adorkable.

Sticking with the press junket, you guys might recall this interview with Extra TV the other day when Rob was asked about chick flicks:

New York Times best-selling author of The Fault In Our Stars, John Green, reblogged the gif with this comment:
A++, would hire again for role of Person Who Can No Longer Bear the Vapidity That Surrounds Him.
LOL well Rob does get asked some mindless questions yet keeps his cool. Love how he's always kind, charming, witty, professional....I could keep going. ;)
A little trivia: The Fault In Our Stars film will be produced by Wyck Godfrey.

Moving into film news, this doesn't have anything to do with Rob directly but some of you asked about the role Jude Law will be playing in Queen of the Desert. The producer, Cassian Elwes, revealed the info on twitter to fansite, @QOTDfilm (this is a fellow fansite, not the one Kate and I work on):
'Henry' is Henry Cadogan. A British diplomat that Gertrude Bell fell in love with!
This film continues to intrigue. The Playlist fanboys said "damn, this cast is shaping up pretty nicely..." and Screen Crush is ready for the maddness Herzog brings - "Knowing Herzog, Bell is surely going to have a brush or two with madness."

A couple of Rob's other film projects got some quick buzz on Saturday from the American Film Market, still underway (ends Wednesday). Variety had a quick mention for The Rover and Hold On To Me. Excerpt:
Solid rather than spectacular -- that's the consensus so far among buyers and sellers at the halfway point of the 33rd edition of the American Film Market, with more than 2,000 projects for sale.
...
FilmNation topped Glen Basner said that the first half of AFM had been a scramble with "The Rover," "Nebraska," "Hold on to Me" and "Genius"
That sounds promising. Folks want to gobble up TR and HOTM :) We can't blame them. We want all these projects gobbled up and we pray daily that distribution is better than what we've experienced in the past with Rob's indies. Either way, we'll be there every step of the way supporting him. :)

Dolce & Gabbana Call Robert Pattinson's Style "Elegant & Inspiring "

.........and Rob makes another Best Dressed List

From FashionBeans.com
Best Dressed Introduction
By Lee Malone

With 2009 done and dusted its time to look back through the year and give you Fashion Beans’ 5 Best Dressed Men of 2009. To find the Top 5 I have been asking the same question everywhere and to everyone, “Who do you think are the 5 best dressed men of 2009?” I have been planning this article for a while (since early December) and have had a huge response from facebook, twitter and with the street style guys and now that I’ve got everyone’s top 5 I can reveal the winners. Now I know everyone will not agree with the top 5 and will more than likely have a different top 5 depending on your own personal style and taste, but here are the most popular 5 I found from peoples answers.

Now as I said before these aren’t my top 5 these are the ones I found most popular from peoples answers, I look forward to reading you’re opinions and your own top 5.

No.3 – Robert Pattinson

“Up until I was 12 my sisters used to dress me as a girl and introduced me as ‘Claidia’! Twelve was a turning point as I moved to a mixed school and then I became cool and discovered hair gel.” – Robert Pattinson

However, I don’t think the 23-year-old British actor’s hair was the only thing bringing him into the public eye. Besides his rise to fame over the last 12 months in the Twilight saga, he has also become a big interest in the fashion world, possibly due to his Mum working at a model agency, which he sampled before acting. Rob’s style has been described as ‘emo and ’90’s grunge’ by many different magazines, with his loose shirts, fitted jeans, suit jackets and converse, not to mention the wayfarers, which he seems to be sporting on many occasions.

His style is completely different to most celebs in Hollywood as it is so laid back and clearly adored by the Twilight fans, but fans weren’t the only ones who noticed the fashion sense of Mr Pattinson, as designer Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana revealed in GQ that Robert Pattinson is “Extremely elegant and inspiring, the true essence of a contemporary man.” No wonder he was recently voted GQ’s best dressed British male this year.
