Rob at Walmart?

RANDOM!

Rob was at Walmart headquarters in Arkansas. He attended "Saturday Morning Meeting" at Sam's Club as the special guest celebrity.

Thanks to Anne for sending me the pictures :)

Note: Walmart has struck a deal with Summit and will have Twilight Shops in their stores. That's why Rob was at the Walmart Headquarters :)

  1. of all the places? very random.
I mean, I heard it was a possibility but dang...I could've drove from GA. lol not really.

Wow...I bet there weren't really any screaming fans. I'd ask how no one else knew but I read it somewhere that "maybe" he'd be there.

    Lucky people!

  2. i've never wanted to go to walmart this much before.

That was a surprise seeing him there! he avoided paps at the airport while others didnt... how does he do it?!

he is looking so sexy as usual. rawr.

    ReplyDelete
  3. Oh, such fun for Rob. *sarcasm*
He must have been contractually obligated to do that. I wish he could negotiate a contract that prevented him being made into such an advertising tool. Some advertising is important but this is ridiculous and I think rather abusive.

  4. When in the HELL did this happen? This Saturday..as in today?? BAH!

Wal Mart sucks ACE. Please, Rob, what sick twisted individual forced you in to this fuckery? They need to be fired. STAT. Just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  5. hahaha.. that is sooo random. wal-mart is giving us free shizz to give away at our sites, so i guess they're really trying hard to ride the twilight/rob bandwagon (don't we all try hard to RIDE the rob bandwagon.. wow.. i said that.. i did)
    a little late.. but whatever..

new pics of rob .. yay!

i wonder how he liked arkansas...

    ReplyDelete
  6. Rob in Arkansas? That is the weirdest thing ever. He had to been paid for that. Why else would he do that, why would he be the only one? Did anyone show up?

    ReplyDelete
  7. LTR yes we all want on that ride...I can't believe he is that close...OMG

    ReplyDelete
  8. And there I go saying "there is no chance in hell they will miss him on the airport...unless he swims back to US" haha yeah right. And I said that because Kristen, Ashley and Jackson left Vancouver.
How did he manage to avoid being spotted is beyond me...but good work Mr. Pattinson xD

I really hope they will spare him from all that shopping mall promotions...I mean he has done that a lot for Twilight, and I am amazed his hearing isn't damaged.
That Taylor kid is perfect for that sort of stuff, and I even think he will be happy to do that, he seems to like attention.
He just has to flash his abs and all will be good.

    ReplyDelete
  9. NOOOOOOOOO! Come back to Vancouver Rob, I miss you already! :(

    ReplyDelete
  10. Ok, after further examination, I will say this: He looks all kinds of HOT at Wally World...minus that big "Sam's Cub" logo behind his head...

    ReplyDelete
  11. how the hell did he manage to sneak out to the airport and stuff im guessing he wore a disguise

    ReplyDelete
  12. Poor Rob, they make him go those places. And then, people ask him the same old questions.

But he looks good in the pics, as always.

Hopefully, they will give the guy a rest.

HEY, ROB, I COULD WAIT FOR YOU AT ESME ISLAND! I´ll bring some valiums and bear. That might be dangerous..., but no more dangerous than ME!!! I´ll show you what I mean when you get there...

    ReplyDelete
  13. Wow. And to think I've always hated Wal-Mart. I hope Rob likes the Midwest. If he shows up at Target...

    ReplyDelete
  14. i don't get it, what is he doing there?

    ReplyDelete
  15. So ... Walmart. Just when you think his management won't humiliate him any further. Hello Hot Topic mall tour anyone?

Maybe he is dressing as Claudia now when he travels? Be on the alert for a gorgeous, tall, very HAIRY woman in airports.

He's a clever one, that Rob.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Rob if your out there Thanks for thinking of those who love you, and love Twilight but, are unable to afford higher placed places like Boarders and Hot Topic . Your support of Walmart just goes to show that you care about all of your fans and we love you even more for it. Your awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  17. Poor Rob. Just what I am sure he wanted to do that day.

    ReplyDelete
  18. He is a gorgeous one, that is what he is.

My G (spot), his jaws in that first pic. Damn it, my boyfr. is waiting for me in a barbecue. And I wanted to stay stuck in that computer and fantasize with those jaws and that look in his eyes...

    ReplyDelete
  19. maybe time for new management? Kristen's on Jimmy Kimmel and looks like Jackson Rathbone has a gig somewhere this week in LA....and the hotness is in Walmart? Come on...Walmart? The lighting in there always sucks! however had I known...could have driven from Texas! :)

    ReplyDelete
  20. I might be one of the few who feels this way, but after reading the GQ article and seeing these new photos of Rob at Sam's Club, I want to scream, "WHERE ARE HIS PEOPLE??" Why are they making such terrible decisions regarding Rob's career?

The GQ article was so uncomfortable to read, as Rob came across as a scared kid clearly out of his depth. Honestly, my heart just broke for him. Why weren't Rob's people sitting there with him and the journalists so they could cover his back (and his verbal diarrhea)? And whoring him out to Wal-Mart - known for its terrible labor practices and bloated stores filled with cheap Chinese merchandise - was an awful business decision. While Rob looks adorable, as always, his promotion of a store like Wal-Mart looks really bad.

Robert is on his way to becoming a fine upscale actor, but if he continues to appear where ever they're waving a big check, he'll become a Jessica Simpson reduced to singing at the Strawberry Festival.

    ReplyDelete
  21. so here I am on my WalMart & Sams run & I see he is doing the same only one state away. Damn. The folks at my WalMart & Sams are going to be even less attractive than normal today. And that is saying a LOT!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Anon--> I have faith in Rob... he's intelligent, talented, and i really don't think he cares much for superficial crap... Sometimes u have to do what u have to do... Walmart or not...

    He'll be fine...he's a smart guy.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Apparently, Walmart is doing the merchandise for Twilight, hence the likely contractual obligation...but still wierd to see...wonder what he felt about doing it?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Anon. above, I agree with you. Walmart? And also with the "verbal diarrhea" thing.

He should be a little more careful with what he says. I loved his interview in GQ, but when he said that he and Javier, "both heteros." felt "ridiculous" doing the sex scene... well, I know some gay men that just adore him and that just went nuts when they read this. I tried to explain that he meant "weird" in an open set, with the spanish electritians giggling & so on; but "ridiculous" was a nasty choice of word.

Javier was more careful in his interview, when he mentioned the hot sex scenes.

    ReplyDelete
  25. By the way, I can´t wait to watch those hot sex scenes...

    ReplyDelete
  26. Seriously, someone needs to renegotiate his contract! Nick - Steph get on that Stat!

Mmmm he's lookin' a little dirty, me likey...

    ReplyDelete
  27. wal mart...really? does anyone know any information regarding this... from what i have hearD from a friend.. wal mart employees have a meeting every morning.. but its before the stores open... i wonder if it was just employees... oh well he's hot:)

    ReplyDelete
  28. Wally World is pimping Twilight like you wouldn't not believe....I saw their tv ad like three times yesterday.

I'm sure that is just another contractual thing for Rob....poor guy. How cliche....Arkansas and Wal-Mart....sorry, could not resist!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ug, this is so embarrassing. I'm embarrassed for him, I'm embarrassed for America (as usual).
    This is just gross.

And I agree, that GQ article was really cringeworthy, I feel like he has no control over what's going on, he's letting everyone else call the (bad) shots.

    ReplyDelete
  30. actually, i live in the northwest arkansas area and the idea of paparazzi being at our tiny little airport is ridiculous. there is zero chance. i have seen a number of celebrities at the same airport myself (including halle berry), but they really have the luxury of being left alone here. and as for the walmart/sams meeting thing, its really not that unusual for celebrities to be present. they bring them in for meetings every year.

    ReplyDelete
  31. yeah i read that he was there promoting the dvd... and he only answered a few questions.. some about his hair and then joked about his ass?!?!?(?what..lol) and i guess someone asked if he was gonna do a meet and greet and a rep for walmart said that only "pre approved" people where able to get to meet him and have pictures and autographs. so yeah just thought id share what i read :) i hope everyone is having a great day!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. Celebrities do gigs like this all the time. We just don't always hear about it. He was at the regional headquarters of Walmart, not just some random Walmart. It's a corporate gig - for Walmart. It is part of the job.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Srsly, a Wal-Mart?! SRSLY?!

Summit, let the boy go back to London and be at his best friend's premier, or I'M GOING TO HUNT DOWN AND KILL YOUR ASSES.

    ReplyDelete
  34. tom sturridge has a movie coming out?

    ReplyDelete
  35. i think we need to reiterate for those of you not reading properly. it wasnt at a walmart, it was at the headquarters of walmart. he was in bentonville, arkansas which is where walmart began. he wasnt in a supercenter or something - he was at a corporate meeting.

and, for someone who asked, it wasnt just for employees. its mostly for the rich families around here that have connections.

    ReplyDelete
  36. thanks beck... i asked and then i found the info somewhere else.. it was a corporate thing... lucky corporate peeps

    ReplyDelete
  37. 2Shots: Yes, Tom has The Boat that Rocked coming out. The premier is next week. If Rob isnt taping anything (cause Jackson "RPattzed" the papz, they whole cast isnt starting to tape on Monday), he should def go overseas and support his best friend's ass.

Tom has creeped for his love long enough, its time to do the same dont ya think?

Oh and def, look at the trailer for The Boat that Rocked, it looks really good.

    ReplyDelete
  38. is that the movie with bill nighy... it a bunch of older english blokes right... it looks good...i saw a preview for it awhile back.. thanks la stella

  40. 30 something, I'm hating on Summit, but that is something I have done since the beginning, LMAO.

I want TomBert to be reunited and make sweet sweet love. Also, I want Rob to sing to Tom that he is his rubber ducky and that he is the one! <3

    ReplyDelete
  41. We don't have Walmart here so I didn't really understand the reaction but Mel explained to me (thanks Mel).
What I don't get is if filming is meant to be starting Monday (like Jackson said) then why have they all left???

    ReplyDelete
  42. Walmart store, Walmart headquarters...what's the dif? Still Walmart, still gross oversized crappy commercialism, still embarrassing for everyone involved, just my opinion....

I feel bad Rob has to do crap like this, it's lame.

    ReplyDelete
  43. A corporate thing makes more sense than ...

"ATTENTION Walmart shoppers, Robert Pattinson on aisle 3."

    ReplyDelete
  44. Kate: Jackson RPattzed the papz. He is good at that shit.

Anon: Amm, because summit has him by the balls, I mean, remember the mall tour.

AJ: I have missed your ass. Did you see my Tom as Ernie and Rob as Bert manip?! <33

    ReplyDelete
  45. Summit has him by the balls and that's a damn damn shame.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Wow, I'm from Mississippi and didn't realize that Rob had such snootyass bitchy fans!

    ReplyDelete
  47. AJ: Don't tease like that. I would break my neck running to Aisle 3 to buy him up.

    ReplyDelete
  48. la stella...lol i love bert and ernie... and rubber ducky!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. All celebrities do corporate appearances. It is part of the job.

  51. This is demeaning for him. His agent need to start looking out for his back. The GQ article was funny but you can tell that is he is a boy lost in this movie star business. Even in the Oscar he said he has other ppls telling what to do..he needs an agent to step in and look out of Rob future not just about making money..Im embarressed for Rob....I know he dosent know anything about Wal-mart. So Im not blaming Rob at all. I blame Nick and Stephanie...

    ReplyDelete
  52. La Stella: LMFAO rubby ducky, you're the one. Mmmmm you make bathtime lots of fun.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I don't think we're "snooty" for being bummed out by this.
I hate Walmart because it's corporate America at it's worst.
    It's not snootiness, it's disgust.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Dear Luscious Lips a/k/a Robert Pattinson...

As an American I humbly apoligise for WalMart AND Arkansas.

I was in Arkansas once..by accident. I stayed about 10 minutes.

    Sheesh.. quit Pimpin' the Patzzz

    Summit, you suck!

    ReplyDelete
  55. thirtysomething: we would def have lots of fun with those rubber duckies in the bath dont ya think?

    ReplyDelete
  56. OME Sophia...you have me rolling on the floor with your comments. LOVE IT!

I don't know if I can really picture him walking through the aisles of walmart shopping for anything. But I also don't see him in Armani Exchange either. Guess he's either in between or totally on the outside of both. hm...

    ReplyDelete
  57. P.S. MelissaB "FUCKERY" Rules the entire earth!

    ReplyDelete
  58. Look, don't trash Arkansas. It's a pretty state in some places.
There are Walmarts all over this friggin country. Every suburb as either a Walmart of some strip mall hell...

    ReplyDelete
  59. I am not a huge WalMart fan but there are fans who can't afford the high dollar stores, so why not? There are also fans like myself who live two hours from anything but a WalMart - no Malls in sight. Not everyone lives in the city and not everyone has extra $$$ to spend even if they would like to be able to.

    ReplyDelete
  60. remember..."ridiculous" came out of the mouth of a 22 year old. So he's okay. my opinion of course.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I'm not sure what the big deal is. Obviously Wal-Mart/Sams Club is paying big bucks for Rob.I'm not a fan of Wal-Mart either, although I do shop at Sam's Club...But it's not like he is being shoved in front of thousands of screaming lunatics. And I LOVED the GQ interview. He was honest, revealing and sweet...all of the things I love about him.
It is one of my favorite interviews with him.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Stella: Yes, I would love that. And I have realized that several of my latest commments have involved bathing and Rob? WTF?

    ReplyDelete
  63. stella-D freakin hilarious...love it.. and i totally loves his GQ interview...he is just an honest guy... and he's hella funny..

    ReplyDelete
  64. Nobody is blaming people who can't afford more pricey stuff and they shop at Walmart, it's more the concept of Walmart, and in my opinion, malls, and strip malls, and all this urban sprawl. It didn't used to be like this. We are living in a very generic country, sorry.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Rose: Right on sistah! I also loved the GQ interview. Made me want to take him home and talk some more.

    ReplyDelete
  66. thirtysomething_ lol talk or bathe? afterall he has his rubber ducky!!lol

    ReplyDelete
  67. made me want to take him home and microwave him a carrot, (microwave and carrot courtesy of WalMart!)

    ReplyDelete
  68. maybe he's doing a deal with walmart to get hot pockets by the case for free? all part of his masterplan...

and we do all get that he was at walmart corp headquarters, they probably flew him in on corporate jet. still think his peeps need to get him on late night tv, just sayin'.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I liked the GQ interview except when he said he was "literally shitting in his pants."
Am I to believe he was sitting in a pile of poo?

Pet peeve of mine, people misusing the word "literally"

    That's all. Otherwise, pretty cute.

    ReplyDelete
  70. he was sitting in a pile of poo, didn't you see it up on eBay anon...

    went for $50K

    ReplyDelete
  71. Summit sucks but also people who are trying to make money of his fame suck also..
I never noticed before but on that Haunted aiman poster there's a line "Nobody lives forever" I mean come on!!!
    http://www.bellaandedward.com/cutenews/data/upimages/hauntedairdvd.jpg
Like it isn't enought they ripped of font they had to make some lame line to add...
    They are all leeches.

I just hope that if he has to do promotions like this that he isn't alone, and that other cast members are joining him. So that they can be embarrased together xD

    ReplyDelete
  72. How has he not been on Letterman or Conan (Fallon)?
I only saw him on Leno which was boring as hell (mainly because Leno is such a bore).

He's got to be more interesting that Kristen Stewart...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

    ReplyDelete
  73. 2shots: Well talk first, then bathe, then...

Suz: Microwave him a carrot hahahahahahah!

    ReplyDelete
  74. Dudes, he literally shits his pants.

    ReplyDelete
  75. thirthsomething... kill 2 birds with one stone...talk as you take a bath while eating a microwaved carrot...yup thats what i would do... lol

    ReplyDelete
  76. 2shots: Isn't that 3 birds? hehe

    ReplyDelete
  77. I just hope he comes to a walmart in Louisiana. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Huh? 'Cause Walmart is launching a big Twilight product section? But why Rob? He's too big for this; get another actor to do it. Does Rob say "yes" to everything his pimp management asks of him? He's so sweet and easygoing, so they take advantage.
Rob- "JUST SAY NO". It's ok, really.
That said, no big deal sweetie! We love you!!!

    ReplyDelete
  79. yeah thirtysomething.. it started off at 2 but i got carried away...lol

    ReplyDelete
  80. wowie, hi. Glad I amuse you.

I could, you know, amuse Rob too. Does he know that?

ROB, LOVER, ARE YOU FREE FROM THAT WALMART THING ALREADY? ARE YOU HERE CHECKING ON STUFF ABOUT YOU ON THE INTERNET?

Dear, I´m serious... I could "amuse" you a lot. I thought about too many things I wanted to do with you. You would never need another vallium... I like black beer, it´s great with... you know...

Still waiting for you to answer my questions (I´ve asked you here before, many times). They are not stupid at all. They are priority for all Robsessers... So:

Do you speak dirty during...? Do you keep your eyes open? What do you do with those big hands? And with that mouth? Do you moan all the time or only at the end? Are you a screamer?

Do you fall asleep after...? Do you get in the shower?

    Uh, some new questions here...

Still waiting, lover. Come (hum...), ANSWER ME!!!

    ReplyDelete
  81. Do you ever think about that fact that like, MILLIONS of women (and men I'm sure as well) have fantasized about Rob, most likely, er, pleasured themselves thinking about Rob?
That is kind of earth shattering, as in, crazy. And maybe a little creepy for him?
    I dunno....

    ReplyDelete
  82. and I loved the GQ interview also. That's Rob; Honest and self-deprecating, which I love. It's refreshing; he's never boring. I want to see him on Jimmy Fallon or Letterman. Did u see Kristen on Jimmy Kimmel? Oh brother :( She has a very difficult time expressing herself. Kimmel basically knew this and kept explaining her responses to the audience. Like, "that's what you meant, right Kristen? it was sad. sorry. :(

    ReplyDelete
  83. Anon. above, I DO THAT. A LOT. Maybe too much...

And I´m pretty sure zillion of women and men do too.

Damn, I have to go to a stupid barbecue now. Boyfr. waiting for me there; probably already drunk...

    ReplyDelete
  84. Robert is like a cash cow and everyone tries to melk him.. The studio makes so much money with him and didn't he mention that they don't even pay him that much?! Plus he has to bear all the crazy attention. And maybe gets typecast as Edward forever...

I just hope he doesn't get all crazy and tries to make the best of it. Would be so sad if everyone gets their share and in the end he's the one to drown..

    ReplyDelete
  85. Anon - yeah, i would love to know his take on that. Is he creeped out? Does he find it amusing? Is he flattered?
When will an interviewer ask him THESE questions????

    ReplyDelete
  86. Why should I care? I dunno, but this is irritating to me to see this, its the dang mall tours all over again....

    ReplyDelete
  87. File this under WTF? I mean really! I live in New Orleans - I'm currently mapquesting how long it will take to get myself north to Arkansas. Wonder where he's going next.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Ok. If it really was a Walmart Corporate thingy, then ok i guess. But i say next time, if you're good enough for the Academy Awards, then you're too good for Walmart and the like.

    We adore you, Rob!!!!

oh, and PLEASE, host Saturday Night Live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  89. ha, yeah that would be a GREAT question for an interviewer to ask...

"Rob, do you realize there are probably MILLIONS of people masturbating whilst thinking of you?"

Well you know he reads the smutty Edward/Bella fanfiction so at the very least he knows people are getting off to THAT, with him as Edward, I presume...

    How weird to be him.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Okay at first I was very dissappointed when I heard Rob was at Wal-mart promoting..but I read that somewhere that alot of stars does this all the time. From Harrison Ford to Brad Pitt, but its alway been closed only to the big leagues and their family. So basically Rob was opened one cuz of his fandom...
Rob is just doing what his contract is stated.

    ReplyDelete
  91. First, I don't know why Rob did the Walmart gig, but I'm sure there was a reason. Celebs have to do all kinds of things as part of the job. Who knows what he is contractually obligated to do? I have to do things for my job that I don't necessarily want to do, but that is the deal.

Second, I like the GQ interview because he was honest. In being honest, he sometimes says things without thinking. So be it. This means he is still himself and hasn't bought into his hype. I would rather he blurt out what he's thinking than really consider everything that comes out of his mouth; that will make him less "real" Rob and more "celebrity" Rob, which I think he is trying to avoid. He often says that he is the same person now as he always has been (just living in the mouth of madness because of Twilight). The minute he buys into media training or calculates all of his responses or actions, I think it will become tougher for him overall because he will give up the essence of who he is.

Is some of this scary for him? I would think so, but I think it will get even scarier if he creates a persona that he has to keep up. He wants to do high quality acting...the rest of it is some kind of bullshit that isn't worth changing for.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Hee hee! I imagine the question could be asked more like "How does it feel to have so many women all around the world wanting to be with you?" or something a little more subtle. :)

Comics like Jimmy Fallon or Letterman could so ask that in a lighthearted way.

    ReplyDelete
  93. KK - good points.

    ReplyDelete
  94. He's already been asked that a lot, Rob, how does it feel to have all these women after you, etc...he's usually just sheepish or says it's bizarre.

By now he's got to know that he's hot, I would imagine...or hope.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Up until now he always said the response he gets from girls is because they see him as Edward Cullen. I just wonder what he'd say now., ya know?

    ReplyDelete
  96. I am surprised at the number here who were embarrassed for Rob because of the GQ interview. I absolutely loved it!

What makes RPatz so appealing to so many is how he is able to be his authentic self. I mourn a day if he becomes just another sanitized Ken doll, spewing the PC line. He is like a scared boy behind that hunky exterior and the fact that he doesn't try to hide it ever makes me love him on such a visceral level.

Like Kristen Stewart said about Rob--he cannot lie. How refreshing it that in such a deceptive business. I am certain that if all he had going for him was physical appeal, this Rob mania would have never occurred.

    ReplyDelete
  97. He'd say all these crazy girls have entire websites dedicated to me so I must be pretty hot. :)

    ReplyDelete
  98. Anon: re: what you said here...
"I am certain that if all he had going for him was physical appeal, this Rob mania would have never occurred"

I agree completely. He would have a fan base for sure, but not quite the hysteria or obsession.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Anon: re: what you said here...
"I am certain that if all he had going for him was physical appeal, this Rob mania would have never occurred"

"I agree completely. He would have a fan base for sure, but not quite the hysteria or obsession."

I agree, but I also think that if he wasn't edward cullen this wouldn't have happened. In fact, I'm positive. He's hot, he talented, he's humble, but without Twilight I doubt he would have ever been such a phenomenon.
That's not a dis on him at all, I think it's just the nature of the business. There are plenty of hot, talented humble guys who never make it "big" just because they never got that "IT" role, you know?

He even said it himself, that Little Ashes wouldn't even be getting released if not for him and he's right. I'm guessing the people behind that movie are pretty psyched right now.

    ReplyDelete
  100. And whoring him out to Wal-Mart - known for its terrible labor practices and bloated stores filled with cheap Chinese merchandise - was an awful business decision. While Rob looks adorable, as always, his promotion of a store like Wal-Mart looks really bad.

    I sooooooooooooooooooooo agree

I really don't like Wal-Mart, do Border or Hot Topic or something with a little more dignity.

    ReplyDelete
  101. I love the GQ interview. I think the thing to remember is that it was done in December. Only about a month after Twilight opened. He had not had a moment to himself or gone back to London for down time. He'll get more relaxed doing interviews. Everything is new to him and I'm sure anyone would be overwhelmed.

    ReplyDelete
  102. LMAO AJ - Rob Pattinson on Aisle 3. This is a corporate gig not a shopping mall like the Hot Slopic appearances. And Walmart will reach a broad fan base. I think it's great.

AS for GQ, Pappademas didn't do Rob any favors and he didn't give us any new insight, besides the carrot quip. Rob should stick with being honest because obviously he's not going to please everyone.

I agree with Sophia, as for LA, he was reflecting on the awkwardness of the situation. Making that film was a brave thing to do.

AND he looks all kinds a schmexy!

    ReplyDelete
  103. KK - thank you SO MUCH for your post... you said it all so well. Who knows how long ago this was set up, or why, or any of the random details as to why he spent his Saturday morning at a WalMart in Arkansas. Sure, I don't think it was the best idea, but who knows what's behind it.

As for the GQ article. That's why we love him. He's real. He's not censoring everything he says in order to be "the perfect celebrity". He's not buying into the hype of Hollywood that makes normal people into Tom Cruise. He's staying down to earth, he's being himself and it's one of the many reasons we love him for him.

Still completely baffled by WalMart... but I'm sure there was a legit reason behind the appearance...

I really don't like Wal-Mart, do Border or Hot Topic or something with a little more dignity.

    ********************
This cracks me up. Where do you think the merchandise at those stores comes from! China, of course. Walmart is selling Twilight this was a corporate function.

  105. Does anyone seriously think that Summit is going to make some "save the earth statement" by being selective about where they whore their leading man out? No, they will go where the money and the fans are.

    ReplyDelete
  106. First things first, all the anons bashing everyone need to seriously grow a pair and post "FOR REAL" like all big girls should.

Secondly, we all, I am 98.9999999999% sure, have bought something from Wal Mart at some point in our lives. Shit, I was there last night.

Thirdly, Rob is a nice guy and I'm sure he is more than obliged to appear at such an event as "Saturday Morning Meeting at Walmart"

I just don't like the FUCKERY that is Wal Mart. I'm not a snobby bitch. The farthest thing from it. Wal Mart sucks, but damn it all, if they have cheaper milk-thats where I'm buying it. 'Nuff said.

    Sheesh.

  107. Bah wtv... I think it's something he had to do... I'm sure that wasn't a choice he had to make really...I'm sure he feels the way he feels about it.

More importantly... when is he coming back to Vancouver? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  108. Wow, I can't believe all the Walmart Haters. They are way cheaper on the Twilight Merchandise and Books at Walmart & Sam's Club than at Borders.

I think Rob is going to be doing an appearance via television at the Walmart Store Events for the DVD release. The walmart website has details.

In my town, Walmart pays better wages than most retail places, offers health benefits, and also rewards their employees with stock benefits. That they've managed to keep Labor Unions out of their stores is probably the number one reason that you hear bad stuff about them. Labor Unions hate Walmart.

  109. come 2 texas rob! maybe his fine behind will go 2 sxsw in austin! =D there will b awesome bands! laura marlings playing and i heard he loves her. omg!

    celebs galore attend.
Oh yeah...the movie with tom sturridge is entitled the boat that rocked. =)

    ReplyDelete
  110. OK...having been to Walmart's world headquarters a number of times for work...this is NOT a big deal. Walmart is one of the largest companies in the world. I'm sure they paid a hefty sum to Summit to carry Twilight merchandise. Part of that hefty sum was "Hey, let's have Robert come to our Saturday Morning Meeting". A phone call was made to Rob's agent...who then said "Yes, of course." He's not the first celeb to appear at Walmart, or the biggest for that matter. It happens when that kind of $$ is being thrown around.

As for how he snuck out of Vancity unnoticed. I'm fairly certain that Walmart probably sent the company jet for RPattz meaning that he left out of a private terminal most likely at an airport that isn't Van Int'l. Bentonville's airport is small and it probably takes at least 1 stopover somewhere else to fly commercial. I doubt he did that.

  111. Hi MerFrac. Haven't seen you post before. Waves. Thanks for the insight and dose of reality.

    ReplyDelete
  112. GAH. I am less than 2 hours from there. If I'd only known I would SOO have been there.

    ReplyDelete
  113. Hi TwiHeart. Waves back. I've never posted here before, I just couldn't take it anymore. LOL! The Saturday Morning Meeting at Walmart is notoriously celebrity ridden. They used to do it every Saturday but have scaled back in the last 2-3 years to 1 per month. It's basically a pep-rally. I had the honor of going to one eons ago...Harrison Ford was there. It's so not a big deal. Although I am moderately mortified that beautiful Rob had to see Bentonville. I HATE going there...

    ReplyDelete
  114. @Merfac~
Your from the imdb board arent you? LOL. That board so logical it frightening.
Yes tons of big name celebrity have done this. So its not a big deal. It wont ruin his career.
Oh his article on GQ was very nice but we can sense his loneliness..

    ReplyDelete
  115. Walmart is beneath him? The dude, eats hot pockets from convenient store!

    ReplyDelete
  116. Yea...I've been know to lurk the IMDB board a bit and post occasionally. ALthough lately, it's a bit scary over there!

The GQ interview was a little sad but you have to remember, it's just snippits of an entire conversation used to make an article that people will want to tear apart. Rob always comes across as lonely and I don't think that's far from the truth, but I'm not sure he minds to be honest. Trying to find his way in the sea of waves he has found himself in has got to be daunting without worrying about trying to please others. Alone is probably the best place for him right now.

He can't even do a "private" appearance at Walmart without being debated to the ends of the earth.

    ReplyDelete
  117. AM - your point? BWAHAHAHA. I want to be beneath him. OOOPS, too scary, KK?

Steph, You'll have to untie yourself first. Nice avatar.

    ReplyDelete
  118. La Bella Stella: I just saw the pic! ROTFLAMO.

Rob's Bert unibrow is a classic! So clever! Tom♥Bert

I miss your ass too bb. But mine's bigger so there's more to miss.

    ReplyDelete
  119. MerFrac. No debate here. Rob's great. The GQ interview was a let down. Of all the snippets though that's what we get?? Nothing new. Yawns.

    ReplyDelete
  120. This ia a small clip from his wallmart.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgN8kcNVYZA

The American Idol after they win go and play music at this meeting. You may not like Wallmart but I don't think it's demeaning to promote twilight. The fact that you are commenting negatively about makes is demeaning. He's just doing what's in his contract. If it was at Nordstroms would it be different?

    ReplyDelete
  121. Attention Walmart shoppers: Hot sexy guy in aisle 3 being pimped by and grabbed by the balls by walmart...come and get him! Oh, and while you're there remember to pick up some twilight merchandise...

    ReplyDelete
  122. Wow. This all got started because Rob was at Walmart. Let's just talk about how HOT and adorable he is!

OOh baby don't you know I suffer,
OOh baby can you hear me moan?

    mmmmmmmmmmmmm

  123. Sophia----yawn----we all are having a discussion here that doesn't involve hardcore fanfic...

  124. Yeah, anon. above, I noticed... aham... very deep, very sensitive, very intellectual...

Just the way I (we) like it...

    ReplyDelete
  125. Walmart is cheaper to shop at for most teenagers. I am not a huge fan of Wally World, I do shop at Sam's Club. Still love you Rob....He probably liked the idea because who actually cares about what he's wearing....YUM! He's one that doesn't care what people think about his hair....Clothes does not make the person....AND HE'S STILL YUMMY!!!

    ReplyDelete
  126. Hello Kat~I think it is less about Rob not censoring himself and more about the journalist and publication. GQ works to be avant garde and a bit risky. I used to do celeb interviews and you wouldn't believe some of the things that were said! But I worked for newspapers read by all ages. I wrote what worked for my audience and often protected the celeb.

MerFrac~Good commentary. Wouldn't you have loved to see the entire GQ interview as it happened? I think Rob is a loner who likes to think and read, watch films, play music. I agree that it serves him well, especially now.

Thanks La Stella...I'll have to find out about that Sturridge film!

MelissaB~and Lizzie Mademe~I completely agree with you both about Walmart...well said!

    ReplyDelete
  127. You know, WalMart probably just called his managers and asked if he'd mind coming out on their private jet one morning to basically say Hi. He's so laid back and such a non-snob that he said "Sure."

    ReplyDelete
  128. TwiHeart-I was a bit disappointed in the GQ interview mostly because it seems so fractured. I had to re-read 3 times just to figure out WTF they were talking about. I don't like disjointed interviews and it plays to my point more that these were just snippits.

Chicago-I would love to have been a fly on the wall at this interview. I can just see Rob, slumped over his Coke with random thoughts spewing from his mouth. Honestly, he's an interviewers dream...just random babbling. I think he has the same problem my boss does...extremely intelligent and not a mind/mouth filter in sight! I would imagine the GQ guy was just in heaven. I can only imagine the stuff they have on him. Hire someone to burn the tapes Rob...Hurry!

  129. Twiheart - If being underneath Rob is scary then I'm ready to be all kinds of scary.

  130. Twiheart - If being underneath Rob is scary then I'm ready to be all kinds of scary.

    ReplyDelete
  131. Yeah, MerFrac~Those tapes would be a treasure! Back in the day, an ex stole most of my tapes (the interviews were long-ago published, thank god). Yes, the interview is lacking flow. I believe he missed several topics including "How to Be." The reporter also made sure to talk about how he is in a few papparazi photos near Rob. I found those photos at RobertPattinson.org.

    Nice to *meet* you!

    ReplyDelete
  132. Chicago-Gotta love those ex's! LOL! I can't believe they didn't talk about HTB at all. Its a great film, make sure you see it if you haven't already. Nothing earth-shattering, but a fun film and really shows Rob's talent for just being...Rob.

I remember when those photos came out and exactly what they were saying in the interview that they were listed as "Mystery man". Of course, at the time everyone said Rob looked "drunk"...funny that he was just had too many cups of coffee and a coke and no food. Low blood sugar will make you crazy too!

It's nice to meet you too! I kinda like it here!

    ReplyDelete
  133. Oh wow, why is everyone dissing Walmart so badly? Walmart was the foundation for all supermarkets! And by the way, what makes Hot topic or Borders more dignified? That is the funniest thing I've heard in a while. Someone even said they wanted to apologize to Rob for Arkansas...I live in Arkansas and happen to think it is a very lovely state in most places. And since Rob hates being bombarded by screaming fangirls and paparazzi...well, I'm sure he wasn't uncomfortable in Arkansas for that reason. We are (most of us) a very laid-back state and I'm sure his arrival at the airport was not like others. Most likely, he wasn't being screamed at and having pics snapped of him. And, I'm sure that he knew what he was getting himself into and it was probably in his contract. I'm sure he was fine with doing it. Some people just need to quit bashing Walmart and Arkansas. How f*cking stupid of you! I'd rather him be at Walmart headquarters in Arkansas than for him to be in L.A. having his every move recorded. Wtf??

    ReplyDelete
  134. John-
Didn't mean to bash AR, that was not my intent. Specifically, I can't stand Bentonville. Probably because I've been there 18M times and it just bores the crap out of me.

AR is a beautiful state, and the Walmart employees that were at the SMM seemed very respectful of Rob. I doubt he minded at all.

    ReplyDelete
  135. MerFrac - How were you able to see How To Be? I'm jealous!

    ReplyDelete
  136. Crazy-I saw it at a film festival last year in Austin. Unfortunately, I didn't get to go to the viewing Rob was at. *grumbles, sulks off*

I can't wait for it to come on cable in April!

    ReplyDelete
  137. MerFrac~I believe the journalist cut out any talk they might have had about "How to Be" because there were no scintillating raunchy quotes! I do have plans to see it very soon.

This site can be a very nice place to talk. GOZDE and Dani are excellent.

John~Sorry about those who bash Arkansas and Walmart. They obviously have never worked in retail and do not realize it is pretty much the same no matter who signs your paycheck. And Arkansas is a pretty state. I think you'll agree that it is not located in the Midwest, lol!

    ReplyDelete
  138. Ok, I know that is been repeatedly stated, but he was never casually milling around a Wal-mart. Since the headquarters is in Bentonville, they flew him in to talk a bit about Twilight, and the promotional ideas for the March 21 release of Twilight next week. I was born, and have been raised in Northwest Arkansas, and I appreciate everyone who has wonderful things to say about it. It really is a breathtaking state, and Wal-Mart, although, I agree, it has been way too industrialized, is something that America is very familiar with. It's all supply and demand, people! I'm glad that he took time out of his schedule to do this, and hopefully the promotional ideas will be effective. Celebrities have been coming to these meetings for year, and will continue to do so years from now. No big deal, and I'm sure he was compensated well for it.

    God Bless!

    ReplyDelete
  139. If only I had known which Walmart! Rob looks amazing as usual. Oh yeah, don't trash Arkansas. It's as good as any other state. I live here and it's awesome.

I really love the Robbiness of this site, but not the attitude.
    Offense taken.

    ReplyDelete
  140. OMG i cnt believe it!!! they told NO ONE he was going to be there!!! i work for walmart and found out from a high up home office employee's kid that met him! im so angry cause home office is only 2o mins from my house and i would have been there in a heart beat if i would have known!!! OMG

    ReplyDelete
  141. Shelbie - I agree with you on the attitude. This is supposed to be a place for us to bask in the glory that is Rob...not trash something he did that was required by his contract..lol.

MerFrac - I don't care much for Bentonville myself, I just didn't want people to think that all of Arkansas is that boring..lol.

Kalilou and Shelbie - Nice to have some fellow Arkansans to back me up ..lol.

Oh btw everyone, I know it says my name is John, but I'm a girl..lol. Just wanted to make that clear..lol.

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yeah, I'm from Arkansas, too and it is a pretty great state to be in. I highly doubt that those of you who say AR is such a bad place have lived here, much less seen the real Arkansas. 1) Walmart did it for the families of the shareholders and so they could get a taste of what they're paying for and getting money in return from. 2) It was at the Corporate office so its not like they were in the break room with an unfirmiliar microwave or anything, its a nice office that cost the Walmart foundation alot of money so they coud have the appropraite space for things like this. 3) Who said that Rob and Arkansas dont mix? Stupid. It's where alot of celebrities come to hold stuff away from the papparazzo, because no one will know about it.

    ReplyDelete
  143. ok so i live in Little Rock, AR and really if you were to come our beautiful state during the fall you would truly appreciate why we live here. Unfortunately people enjoy thinking of Arkansans as uneducated hicks and somehow convieniently overlook the finer points. I understand the widespread hate of wal-mart, but the company has given millions of dollars to improve the lives of Arkansans. I think its great that rob got to see at least one smaller town, even if he only saw a small section of it.
