A) I understand why he drinks. He's 22 years old, a male, popular a-list star that cannot leave his house without a bodyguard. He hid in London for a couple months just hanging low, going to bars, chilling with friends. It makes sense. He's a young male, in a high stress job.
2) Why are people always so mean when they see him with a girl. Sorry, but one day he will find a women. And no offense, it won't be any one of us. 'Last night Robert Pattinson hit up a local club in Vancouver and was kind enough to pose with a beautiful girl. Doesn’t look like he minded at a ll. It’s probably the best I’ve seen him look in a long time. Hot. Almost. Because his mouth isn’t open.
Anyway, Rob was hanging out the Twilighters, has been described by many who’ve seen him the last few days as “very thin”, was friendly when approached, and “quite possibly drunk”.

I think he's too self-conscious and worried he wouldn't live up to expectations of "movie sex." Just b/c he's famous doesn't mean he can't meet somebody he likes, go on a few dates, get comfortable that he can trust the person and THEN have sex.
