I'll admit it. I'm super jealous...when my dad told me that it didn't have an autograph on it (it shipped to my house, and not to my school box)...I think my voice was just dripping with forlorn disappointment when I said, "..oh...."
I'm extremely jealous. I got lost in Boston all morning and got there hours early, so spend about hours walking around cold and exhausted. I was literally the first one there but my friend didn't want to wait in front of the theater...she didn't think there gonna be a line. Oh yeah, when we got back to the theater, freakin line wrapped around the damn building...sucks man. I could have gotten it! ugh. Almost me Oliver Irving too but my ride rushed me..sucks!!!!!!!!!!! He was right outside in the lobby! AHHH!
When my CD arrived last Monday I tore into the package, only to find that I was not one of the lucky 250. Mine was NOT autographed. I was so disappointed, especially since I ordered the CD practically the very moment it was first available. And I've seen HTB three different times. It's so not fair....
But, I really am so happy for you Ash! Actually, as soon as I realized mine wasn't autographed, I played the whole CD and soon forgot my disappointment. I just LOVE the soundtrack from that movie, and can't wait for someone to decide to release the DVD in the US.
And...at my last viewing in Santa Monica, both Oliver Irving and Joe Hastings were there and answered questions & talked about the film (and of course Rob!) for almost 45 minutes. And I did get to meet them both in the lobby afterward. So life isn't totally unfair!
For any of you Rob Lovers out there who have not yet done so, you MUST try to see this amazing film, even if you have to wait for the DVD release. I can assure you that you will NOT be disappointed!!!
Yeah I got it yesterday on the 25th. I woke up to get ready to go to work at night and it was on my table. I opened it and freaked out that I actually got an autograph.
I am not jealous. I was never in this autograph thing. But, if he signed them one by one... to think that he actually put his hands on it... THAT I would like to have!
Yeah, I was so bummed to not have gotten an autograph! Argh! (<--my pirate sound) Good for Ash, though. I got a different poster...I wonder how many are out there? Anyone know?

so so so jealousss. i ordered mine too and still havent recieved it so the suspense is killing me! haha plus its all random so as long as you preordered it before the 18th (when they started shipping cause they said they were starting early) you have a chance. if not its still just helping support rob =)
Congrats, Ash! I got my CD about a week ago, but no added treasure. Still, when I read what you said about the envelope, I had to quick find mine again and give it another look in case I'd missed something! Yeah, I know, why do I still have the envelope - hard to toss anything Rob-related.
Don't know if they did it at your showing of HTB, but here they auctioned off a couple of autographed posters. They ended up going for around $200 each and that was only for people who had that much CASH on them!
This movie is absolutely wonderful. While it was endearing and funny... it was also deeply sad and I found myself close to tears feeling Art's angst and pain.
Robert was simply .... perfection. Within minutes of watching I forgot I was looking at our man.. and succumbed to the spell of Art and his world.
I'm blabbing and promise I real "review" when I am not so sleep deprived.
I Vloged some of the antics in NYC (before film) and have the entire Q & A on video.
Just trying to sort out how to best get it to my peeps.
So HAPPY TO REPORT not much second hand embarrassment... (in fact, "I" may have been the only source for that enjoyment..) and only one group of "ladies" who chatted during the whole film...
Not one twilight question.. YIPPEE! The last question was "Rob related" but Oliver already mentioned him.. so it was all good.

One bit of good news...There is a site that people can post autograph successes online. Rob is still sending personalized autographs even though he is freakishly busy. People have been receiving them steadily through March and April (as late as Friday!). People also report that he signs the photos they include and then adds an additional autographed photo before sending. I think this is so unbelievably cool that he is still trying to acknowledge his fan base in this way. This is the kind of thing that makes me like Rob so much and shows how genuine and appreciative he is of his success.
Oh...and people actually scan the photos and put online, so you know they're not full of sh*t. And, of course, they're so damned excited! Who wouldn't be? :))))
For realz - thanks for sharing that information!! It warms my heart to know he is making that effort for us even though he is so in demand...Not all the crazy stalkers have turned him off to reaching out to his fans.
I bet the fanmail keeps him going sometimes...especially when the gossip is at an all time high and paps are making people speculate that he is depressed, high, drunk, etc. Some people post their letters to him online as well. Sometimes, they are a little freaky ("I'm really in love with you Rob. Really. I know we're meant to be together like soulmates." Gah!) But most are so unbelievably sweet, complimenting him and thanking him for his work and his humor and telling him they support him 100% in all he does. It kinds of warms the heart...:)
Okay...it TOTALLY warms my heart. Because of the person he appears to be, he most certainly is attracting really cool people into his fan base. We have to keep up this kind of support to negate the people who continue to "bump" into him every freakin' day. :p
Anon @ 1:28 These are responses to fanmail. People send him letters, gifts, cards and pics for him to autograph. Some people send 7 or more for autographs, and he signs them all PLUS adds another. Many have said that they didn't even put the correct postage on, but he (or someone) makes sure the correct postage is added. Some have even received autographs back without sending a SASE! It looks like his UK address has by far the most successes.
Awww, KK - I bet you're right! a la Letters to Rob...Letters have the added reward of of fans showing love w/out the SCREAMING or someone putting him in a head lock!
Almost makes me want to write him...Dear Rob, "I'll die if you don't watch high school musical with me..." LOL

Chicago - It's going okay. Just making jewelry. My 14-year-old niece dances competitively, and it's so expensive! My older sis can't really afford it, so I suggested we turn my love for making jewelry into a fundraiser. Every year, we manage to raise enough to pay for her costumes and competition fees. She might as well play hockey for how much it costs, but she is sooooooooo good and we want her to have this opportunity. I find detailed work like this relaxing, and I just finished getting caught up with correcting homework from my college class, so I can work on this stuff.
I sent Rob a letter, but asked him not to send an autograph. Just wanted him to know how much I appreciate his funny interviews making me laugh this past fall when my dad was dying. I hope he got a chance to read it.
Ash~I re-opened my CD just in case I missed it the first 100 times looking at it. You're super lucky!

yahaaaaaaaaaaa finally got mine today (I'm living in France so the shipping process was long)and I've had the best of surprises....it's signed!!!! "little victory dance" The funniest is that I dreamt last night that I finally got the cd today after having waited for so long...so with the signature, I guess I can say it's a dream come true :)
