This better be a load of crap, because there is no way they can change Edward's "I'll only change you if you marry me" part. That's a big part of the book & sets up Eclipse & Breaking Dawn. They would be screwing up the whole story line.

Oh,monika, IMDB is not a reliable site at all, is not the bible "of celebrities profile" it can be changed too, th difference with wikipedia is that anybody can change profiles there, but on IMDB, the one with access are members, which is a wide range.. But choose to believe what ever you want, just pelase repect the rest of us who don´t.

Robert said himself that he put on his resume that he liked snow boarding which later he says was not true. So...maybe someone is having a little fun and just saying that they are together.

As for the "update" on imdb, I'm pretty sure that just about anyone can add or change info and the verification people don't go out of their way to actually verify anything. I added something to someone's profile a few years ago very easily, granted it wasn't someone who was as high profile or relevant as Rob or Kristen. Aside from that, if it was true, you'd thing that Michael Angarano's profile would be changed as well. It's not. Personally it seems as if Rob is a fairly good judge of character and surrounds himself with good people, and he really does seem to have a special bond with Kristen. If they both mutually want to be together and it's meant to be, then they'll eventually get together, but for now I feel horrible for Michael. Just imagine if magazines and "fans" continued to publically wish for someone you were in love with to leave you. It would be very hurtful, and as far as we know he's a good guy.

I'm going to offer up an argument to you that I have brought up with my friends. Steph Meyer had the final say so on the final script of each movie. That is the deal she made with Summit.
CH had Rob and KStew do a lot more kissing in her original version but SM put the kibosh on it. They didn't want to give the young audience the wrong idea.
NOW...following along those lines...I was a Drama major/English minor in college and all that says is that I am full of shit.
But, IMO I think that for them to wait for Edward to say "I love you" to Bella is freaking smart. Some things don't translate as well from book to screen. SM had to remind fans of how much Edward loved Bella because all of her original fans had to wait months for the next installment of the Twilight Series. I was one of the lucky ones that read all of them back to back except for Breaking Dawn which I had to wait two weeks for. Nothing compared to the original twihards.
I honestly don't think that they will say "I love you" to each other in the movies until "Eclipse". You have to build the Jacob/Edward rivalry. Edward will pull out all the stops when he prosposes to Bella in the movie....
Jewels- I did the same thing I read the entire series in about two weeks ,Breaking Dawn had just been released. I realize that SM gave her stamp of approval that's what kept me from being disappointed in much of the movie. I figured if she liked it then I should find a way to like it. I just can't help but feel like CH just didn't get it. There were lots of things she said after the fact that didn't sit well. Some of the scenes left me thinking wth. I had to watch several times to get where she was going. I can't help it. I missed the I love you's, I would've settled for just one. I appriciate your POV though it gives me something to think about. I'm off to vote one last time for MTV awards. Nite.
It is tricky to translate books to screen w/o losing the "feel" of the book. CH only got part of it. She did a good job with the look of the movie and she clearly understood the importance of the attraction between B/E. Those were obvious. But she missed the more subtle parts of Edward's character. Edward woould never have dragged Bella by the arm anywhere like he did in the scene in the woods. He was from a different time and worried about hurting her every moment he was near her. But she cast Rob and for that I give her lots of credit.

Rob chose to do what he did in the forest scene by grabbing her by the arm. That covered the feeling of so many pages in the book. Try condensing that book down. We all knew that parts were going to be missing. You can't make Twilight into a two hour movie and satisfy everyone!!!
The actors were given the unenviable task of having to relay all the emotion that was spread out amongst several pages.
CH had no budget. The best she had was Rob, Kristen and an amazing supporting cast. The cast delivered. Everything else was utter fail. Still....

You're absolutely right. No one really knows. But with all the rumours and crap floating around, why would they keep it quiet if they were together? The argument of privacy doesn't really work because their privacy is being invaded constantly by them not revealing it. It wouldn't be worse if they did say they were together. The Twilight franchise is going to make a bajillion more dollars whether or not they're together in real life because older fans don't care if they are involved or not. Then again, as soon as they did reveal a relationship, the media would switch to what Brangelina have to deal with: rumours of fighting, cheating and the like. Celeb couples can't win either way.
I'm so there at at the Midnight show for New Moon!! I did the same for Twilight and saw it numerous times in the theater. I agree that Rob delivered the whole essence of the role. But he and Kristen both said they had to fight to keep it close to the tenor of the books. It's CH and her opinion that she had to lighten everything up that I took issue with. The depth of their feelings and how fast it hit them was the foundation of the story. Also I relaize there would be many that would enter the fandom via the movie,but I felt like the base fans who read the books took the back seat in her vision for the movie. I do like the movie but it took some convincing.Not because the actors didn't do a good job.
Edwards character is very dark and Rob had read MS so I think he did phenominal, he brought Edward to life not CH.

KK, if you're still reading this thread: in answer to your question "why keep it (R/K romance) a secret"--I promise I haven't drunk the Ted C koolaid, but I believe some effort is being made to handle Rob's image. Just look at how carefully controlled he is at major public events like Cannes and the Oscars. If "people" decided a Rob/Kristen romance was not a good thing for his career (or their movies), they might discourage making it public.
As for the actors' denials themselves, as far as I know they're all at least a month old, and in Robsten time that's really old. LOL! I only began to consider the possibility of something going on between them about a month ago.
But of course, Life & Style should never be taken seriously.

Then again, as soon as they did reveal a relationship, the media would switch to what Brangelina have to deal with: rumours of fighting, cheating and the like. Celeb couples can't win either way.

I agree that Rob delivered the whole essence of the role. But he and Kristen both said they had to fight to keep it close to the tenor of the books.
It's CH and her opinion that she had to lighten everything up that I took issue with. The depth of their feelings and how fast it hit them was the foundation of the story. Also I relaize there would be many that would enter the fandom via the movie,but I felt like the base fans who read the books took the back seat in her vision for the movie. I do like the movie but it took some convincing.Not because the actors didn't do a good job.
Edwards character is very dark and Rob had read MS so I think he did phenominal, he brought Edward to life not CH.

ReplyDeleteKK, if you're still reading this thread: in answer to your question "why keep it (R/K romance) a secret"--I promise I haven't drunk the Ted C koolaid, but I believe some effort is being made to handle Rob's image. Just look at how carefully controlled he is at major public events like Cannes and the Oscars. If "people" decided a Rob/Kristen romance was not a good thing for his career (or their movies), they might discourage making it public.
ReplyDeleteAs for the actors' denials themselves, as far as I know they're all at least a month old, and in Robsten time that's really old. LOL! I only began to consider the possibility of something going on between them about a month ago.
But of course, Life & Style should never be taken seriously.
