  3. It's only playing for a week in Chicago. Have to get it while the getting's good. Saw it Friday & going again with a different group on Wednesday.

  4. From what I hear for an Independant film releasing over the weekend this is pretty damn good. And in only 12 theaters...thats like over 6 grand per theater. And now Little Ashes is playing in a bunch of theaters thanks to the wonderful fans bustin their asses calling so lets see those numbers roll in and not let the hard work go to waste.

  7. I'm bummed this movie doesn't come to michigan until June 26th and it's only staying for a week :(

  8. Great news for a great movie.
    Its well deserved.

Im going to send this info on to the cinemas in Dublin and hopefully that will coax them in to at least giving me a response!

    ReplyDelete
  9. This is pretty exceptional news!

Considering the very very very limited release of this small indie.. this is awesome!

Well Done Goz, Dani for the movement and for every one of us who made a call or 100. xxx

  10. P.S.

    Hannah.. mmmmwah.. morning girl.

  11. Morning Suz luv ;)

And I agree.. Kudos to Goz, Dani and all the Robsessors who have done there part in making the opening weekend a success for LA. Love all you ladies :)

  12. Hannah, good idea. I emailed the Mermaid in Bray to see if they might be interested in it for their cinema club. I didn't even get a response one way or the other.

  13. Siobhan, Im going to send an email to the IFI and The Screen because Lighthouse are ignoring me now :(
These two are good for Independent movies too.

    IFI - info@irishfilm.ie
    The Screen - http://www.omniplex.ie/contactus.htm

Gimme the email for the Mermaid in Bray and Ill get on em! Someone in Dublin HAS to pick up this movie!! GAH!

  14. This is exciting news..Very glad to hear it had good opening weekend. Theatre here in Indianapolis said their showing it will depend on opening weekend so keeping fingers crossed!!

Some friends and I are driving to Chicago Thursday to meet a friend who lives there and we are going Thursday night..Can't wait. We are so EXCITED!!!!

  15. It must be a glass half-empty, half-full thing. Last night I looked up weekend box offices, and LA was said have been a "disappointment with less than $7000 per theater." I prefer the attitude here. Does mean we've got to keep pushing. It's only scheduled for a week in most venues, which make Thursday the last day to see it. I'll be going again. Robador rules!

    ReplyDelete
  16. WOW.. this is great news considering how limited it was... Glad I was able to add to it... Robdali was no limits...no limits.....

    ReplyDelete
  17. Diane~ I wonder if they take into consideration this is a limited release indie, with virtually no advertisement. I guess I'll see, if my local arthouse theatre shows it or not. They were waiting for box office results.

Thanks for finding this info for us, Goz and Dani~ :)

    Good morning ladies!!

  20. crazy!! Been dying to ask you... how was LA?!!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Unfortunately, Crazy, it sounds like they were taking that into account. They said that both LA and another film I hadn't heard of "disappointed" in the art house sector. Well, the theater I was in wasn't much bigger than a phone booth (remember those?), so it would be hard to get $7000 out of three days there. Still, it is truly a very good movie and anyone who can should see it.

  23. Rob really is a busy bee:

    http://socialitelife.celebuzz.com/archive/2009/05/11/robert_pattinson_catches_flight_at_lax_meets_with_director_peter_berg.php

How many more movies does he have in the pipeline???

    ReplyDelete
  24. hmm link is too long and was cut off, sorry - apparently Rob met yesterday with Peter Berg (Hancock director).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Yvonne! I haven't talked with you in awhile :(
i really enjoyed it. Rob was great - i was impressed by his performance, especially considering he has so few movies under his belt. (oops, mind now wandering...) Anyway, the intimate scenes were tender, sexy....as we know. And I loved him in the funny parts.
I was telling Suz and Kelly that i was still drawn in to his beautiful face throughout the film. Wondered if it swayed my opinion. i can't help it. :)

    ReplyDelete
  26. Diane~ well i guess i'm not too upset. But i bet Goz' movement made a difference any how. This is very early in one's career. No matter.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Little Bear ` it's so exciting to think how many more opps we'll have to see Rob on the big screen!!! yahoo!

    ReplyDelete
  28. crazy, I've heard people say that you forget it's actually Rob and really look at him as Dali....I am going on the 29th, I am really looking forward to it. I heard back from my local "arthouse" and they are going to show it! "score"!

    ReplyDelete
  29. No matter the amount of money this film makes, I am positive that it has been seen by more people b/c of this site and Goz-n- Dani's hard work :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yvonne~ yeah!! (your local theatre)

Honestly, i never forgot it was Rob. No discredit to his performance; I'm just madly in love!

    ReplyDelete
  31. crazy....I've missed you,too :(
Been so busy, I had family visiting for a few days...

    ReplyDelete
  32. Crazy - I know !! Esp. now he's made it big time, there will be no more need for 'Little Ashes movements'... we'll just go to our local theatres, sit back and enjoy :) The future is bright!!

    ReplyDelete
  33. No wonder the weather has improved. We had rain and crap the whole time he was away and now the sun is back shining all over Canada.

    The power of Rob

    Morning lovelies

    ReplyDelete
  34. crazy...lol, yeah, I can understand that! It's impossible NOT to love him :) And I think it's getting worse for me.

I have to say though, even though I am gald to see all of his recent pics, he looks a little weary, and thin, and I really really hope that he takes it easy. And I hope he's not lonely...I'm a little worried....I know that sounds nuts :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Yvonne - Did you get the translation to your tat artist?

    ReplyDelete
  36. 'moring Tina, glad to hear the weather has improved up North for you :) Must be that ray of sunshine that just flew in :)

    ReplyDelete
  37. T- not yet, she isn't working until Wednesday night...She's going to be surprised I got it so quickly :)

    ReplyDelete
  38. T- did you say your dd was a swimmer?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Y - Yes, she just got back from winning Provcinial Team Championships!!!!

    Yay Team!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  40. Wow, good for her!!

I thought I heard you mention getting up early for a meet....both of my kids swim...They haven't been in the water for a couple of months, we had a coach quit :(

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hey Tina!!!

Yvonne~ I'm not worried though. Flying back and forth every weekend must be tiring, but he seems to be having a ball with the cast and other friends every chance he gets. I remember being 22; i required very little sleep and ran around like crazy. hmmm, that was telling... ;)

Little bear ~ wanna see Nm together? wait, are you in the UK?

    ReplyDelete
  42. I saw it in San Francisco, about 2 hours from where I live. I loved it. I wish I could go see it again but it's not in the cards to do that trip a second time.
It was truly a great movie.

    ReplyDelete
  43. the Greeks are taking over!!! hee hee ;)

    ReplyDelete
  44. Yeah, the clobbered the competition who actually have an Olympic swimmer on their team.

    ReplyDelete
  45. T- woo hoo! Do you have all indoor pools? I would imagine since it's so cold there...

    ReplyDelete
  46. gw, I can sympathize, I have to drive a couple hours away too. But it'll be worth it :)

    ReplyDelete
  47. She swims indoors Sept - end of June 6 days/week. Then summer is outdoors. It gets really hot here in the summer,

    ReplyDelete
  48. 6 days a week! You're one busy swim-mom :)

Well, I need to go do something productive...something domestic, I should say! Have a great day :)

    ReplyDelete
  49. OK - I just saw the Vancouver arrival pics...the lovely close-up with his furrowed brow...does the man never get oily while travelling...sheesh - how can he always look so good?

    ReplyDelete
  50. for comparison: Little Ashes made about as much per theatre as Wolverine this weekend. Granted, Wolverine had a disappointing second weekend, but still, that seems pretty good to me.

But who cares about numbers... I saw the new Vancouver pics too! And Rob is lookin' gooood!

    ReplyDelete
  51. I read that the theaters were not always packed in some fan's reviews... I know that the early afternoon shows might not be the best selling ones though.
Then again, as long as the movie does OK in the long run, I think it's good. It was never meant to be a blockbuster... the R rating certainly doesn't help LOL. As someone pointed out, it also depends of the size of the room where it's shown.
I went to see the last "still walking" show, and it was almost full, but the room was very small, I wonder if there were more than 50 seats (well, maybe more like 70, but I mean it saw very small).

I am a bit saddened by the bad professional reviews. But as long as some people enjoy it for what it is, let's not be overdramatic.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Hi LittleBear!

I don't think that I stated how much this picture made my day:
    http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_sASGYLkBNCU/SgeoYayYNLI/AAAAAAAAEMM/JSU9Dh1p17Q/s1600-h/rpattinson051009_29.jpg
(the one where he puts his hood on...)

slender/thin is really hot! It's particualry funny since I don't believe that he's even trying to look hot.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I would email the theatre here again but since there isn't yet a distributor for this movie here in Norway yet it is pointless cos I'd get the same response "no distributor for the movie here yet". So if there is nothing till the end of June here I will email them again asking about it. The guy who replied to my email said that sometime during the summer maybe. So it could be anytime from june till August. No idea if the UK DVD release will have any effect of any chance of this being shown in theaters though.

    ReplyDelete
  54. lol Anna, that IS an extremely enjoyable picture for sure :)))

now to make it a fair exchange, here's the picture that made my day:

    http://www.laineygossip.com/pics/pattinson-yvr-2-11may09.jpg

Sleepy Rob is just too cute!!!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Though not a deffinate, Breaking Dawn has been upgraded from "purchased"to "script".
So I have high hopes it will be confirmed soon that will be on Rob's agenda starting late next spring.
Still looking forward to all his other movies to.
Have to wait until June for LA here in Colorado.

    ReplyDelete
  56. yay, so cool! bad that I wouldn't be able to see it soon... Nice pic of Rob: http://www.spunk-ransom.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/05/sl21k4.jpg ;)

    ReplyDelete
  57. Great stuff - congrats!!! :)

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm not so enthused... to be honest I'd rather see Rob play a badass villain than Edward in BD. Ed doesn't really do much for me in that book. (Plus he has to deal with having the most ridiculously named offspring in the history of literature, but that's another story)

    ReplyDelete
  59. I feel like such a proud mother.
And I feel like Rob should thank Robsessed by- I don't know, making house calls to every frequent commenter?
    I think so.

    ReplyDelete
  60. http://robertpattinsonunlimited.com/breaking-dawn-goes-to-script/ sorry i had to post it i just read they are making the breaking dawn movie

    ReplyDelete
  61. de, thnx for posting that.
I'm not surprised, but it's nice to see it confirmed. Now all we can hope for is that they don't fu** it up :)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Well, good for the SM fans who also like Breaking Dawn. I have to say that this book is a bad conclusion for me, but maybe they can make it better as a movie? I mean, they know that it is even criticized by parts of SM fans.

LittleBear: OMG, I so agree with you... how could she think that readers would rejoice with this name choice? (and with the entire baby thing in general maybe LOL) and I agree, Edwards almost becomes a background character, completely passive.
    Let's just stop here...

There is room for improvement from book to movie, but I would rather he does projects like Bel ami for intance...

    ReplyDelete
  63. It's like Christmas today. There's so much Rob news.

    http://www.sassyqarla.com/2009/05/robert-pattinson-from-vampire-to-alien.html

Not sure how much truth is in this. I did love Hancock.

Thanks Gozde and Dani for all the yummy pictures. I hope Rob figures out a new incognito look when he films in NY this summer. He would stick out like a sore thumb here. lol.

    BTW, hi everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  64. anna, I agree, I would much rather see him in Bel Ami. Especially if they throw in alot of Jacob in BD. He is going to be so busy in the next 2 years. So happy for him and for us.

    ReplyDelete
  65. A/LA, the pics in that link just slayed me dead again. I am died. Apparently I have more lives than a cat.

How can someone so tired and irritated still look so lovely?

    ReplyDelete
  66. Wait, it was Little Bear's link. And now I see I'm way behind and have more links to check out.

Sometimes I think the internet just fuels our insanity to a ridiculous degree...and yet...I can't seem to stop!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Leann, I agree, the internet just keeps sucking us in. How is it that we all know exactly where he was this whole weekend. Poor Rob, I feel kind of guilty drooling over all these pics of him. Hope he's getting some rest before he heads to Cannes.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Possible remake of "Dune"? That could be crazy cool. I wonder if Berg is thinking of Rob for Kyle MacLachlan. I would totally go see that!

    ReplyDelete
  69. OMG (first time used it!) I almost choked on the news of remaking Frank Herbert's Dune ! I do love the first of the books and I loved movie by David Lynch ! I bet Rob would be Prince Paul Atreides - and he fits perfectly to my expectations.
    I'm grinning ...

    ReplyDelete
  70. OT but..KK your avi...ah Aragorn *swoons*

    ReplyDelete
  71. WinWin, interesting development! The original "Dune" bored the hell out of me, but it did feature Sting in a codpiece, so it did have its merits. Wonder if Rob would be playing the Kyle McLachlan role?

    ReplyDelete
  72. WinWin, it is creepy that we all know exactly what Rob did all weekend long. (Well, not ALL weekend, but a good chunk of it.) It's just not normal.

Neither is my new avatar, but how could I resist? Surely someone else is already using this, but what the hell.

    ReplyDelete
  73. oops! helps if you actually save your blog account changes....

  80. Took so long to catch up with last night's conversation here and now I have to get ready to go out...

Anyway, I think these are great $$$figures. I'm hoping that my local 30-screen AMC will pick up "Little Ashes." I've seen some very obscure indies there. We did our part seeing it Saturday morning in Pasadena...

Well KK, I'm just throwing this out there...does the name "Becvar" mean anything to you? Just checking.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Forgot to say I overheard the cinema ushers discussing Little Ashes, saying how it had been moved into a larger screen due to popular demand. They were talking about the evening screenings though as the matinee I attended had plenty of empty seats.
