The protective monster in me is rearing it's ugly head... EVERY actor, no matter the body, is enhanced in some way for filming. What people fail to recognize is that the makeup artists have to at least have a good canvas to work with. You can't make something out of nothing. Same with supermodels - they do NOT look that good in real life. They simply have an amazing canvas (face and body) that allows the makeup artists to work their magic. Rob worked out - period. He earned that body. So he had a little helping hand? So what? They all do. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!
Oh, and btw, this was directed at no one here. It was in response to all of this speculation on twitter. Fuckers.
I thought he looked fabulous, even taking into consideration that there was some enhancement. That's expected. Some make up has to be there. But it's obvious he worked really hard to get that bod.
Personally though, I wouldn't want him more toned than that. He wouldn't be quite Rob.
It's a g'damned American thing - this six-pack obsession. I never see this insanity in Europe.
In America, if you're not 5% body fat, tanned, botoxed, highlighted and plucked to within an inch of your life - you've somehow fallen short on the attractiveness scale. No regard is paid to other types of beauty or, god forbid, to intelligence.
So after having a rough day at work yesterday this was nice to come home to. I couldn't form a coherent thought to even comment last night, but after sleeping it off, I'm able to think again.
I agree with whoever said his back is looking good. For whatever reason, I really like backs. Don't ask me why. I was wondering about the 6 pack and if it was airbrushed some. I'm glad to know I wasn't crazy for thinking it looked a little fake (mainly because it was showing up so well on camera). And I, too, am super jealous of KS today. Lucky, lucky, little girl.

Lizalou, you are so right. I live in the Dallas area and if you aren't in a tanning bed all day, fixed to perfection and driving an SUV that costs more than your house (which is too big for your family to live in) then you get dirty looks and people think less of you. I was raised to be happy with who God made me and how He made others. And believe me, I'm happy with the way God made Robward. He was beautiful no matter what.
Of course they have to airbrush and give contour or else it won't show up on film. Also, Robward it supposed to look as smooth as marble, so they airbrush also to blend in body hair.
I still think he's perfect. I agree with Lizalou, in Americans are so consumed with physiques like Taylor and Kellan. I actually prefer softie Rob.

what can I say more? Kristen Stewart is lucky, and I must admit that I'm getting disturbed by showme's point of view on the situation (yes I read your comments last night and you kinda convinced me, but only on some points, or was it only the intensity of the pictures?) anyway, to speak only about the movie, think these two are doing a very good job. I really think Rob's body has been brushed (a little help is not lethal) and this idea doesn't bother me at all. You can brush many bodies but when it's Rob's the result is beyond everything! I am proud of Kriten cause she did it, she run and they didn't use the double (many reports that she was nervous a bit) but I think the result is going to be amazing. It's really silly to think that abs show well on film when the skin is this white, so for the sake of the movie, airbrushing is normal... plus it's normal movie practice from what I gathered LOL
But I think he looks nicely toned, while still tall and skinny... The abs with airbrushing are almost a bit too much to my taste, I'm sure it's more attractive without it and just some natural tan. No need to become bearlike, it's not attractive at all (sorry Kellan and Taylor, just not my type)! And I hope that nobody will try to "bully" him into showing the goods on any occasion( like a show or an interview) to prove it's there. Well, as long as he doesn't have to visit Wanker Seacrest any time soon, other interviewers seem to be more civilized.

HAHAHA good idea for calling a French friend, wish I could do it. I just called my housemate to come to my room and showed her a diapo of all the pictures: she was going: OH god, oh god, OH GOD, OH GOD more loudly. Yet I made her promise not to scream (wonder what the neighbours thought about that)
Even the guys in 300, who were completely ripped, had airbrushing. It's just like putting make up on their face ... it's needed on camera to add definition.
Any one with an ounce of common sense can definitely tell that Rob has some decent abs of his own, and that he must have worked hard over the last year to look like this. She's just bitter she can't have a piece.

I hear ya. And I'd like to point out to those of you that have not studied the photos intensely (wtf!), from side shots you can clearly see that Rob DOES have abs/a six pack. The movie makeup was merely enhancing the shadows so they show up on film. I have no issues with this. I appreciate the hard work and dedication this guy put into his role as Edward.
I'm off to get some exercise accomplished. I did nothing but sit in front of my computer yesterday, ugh! Kristen's *spectacular* booty made me realize how far I need to go in accomplishing my goals. Is she genetically blessed? Is it The Firm? I need to know.

I´ve been reading the comments, just couldn´t post yet till got out of work (damn I should study now but since yesterday I can´t take my mind out of the gutter) Lizalou I just read yours and I can´t believe, how critical of everything people are, I noticed that aside the drooling soon after people started calling those are fake 6 pack.. COME ON!! they really know nothing about make up, of course he doesn´t have a sixpack but he has defined a lot the muscle, and make up department to create the “white ice cold” had to use green color too, so it takes away a lot of lines in the body, so after painting him "white ice cold", they have to remark the lines in his torso, of course they up lifted a sixpach, they do it for every actor even when they have one, there is not pic or take that is doe with out make up covering skin. (I worked as a make up artist for a year... damn why I didn´t get to make up Rob? hahaha). Another question is why people care so much about six pack? I wan´t even expecting anything like that on Rob, I even was expecting less muscle definition (he really worked out hard to get that body in that fabulous shape)... I prefer ten times more that strong V definition he has on his hip, than any six pack. mmmmmm faints again thinking about it

Hmmm... I just don't see Rob settling down for a very long time (if at all). I can see him connected to various women, but in a Pitt/Jolie type of relationship? I just don't see it. Maybe 10-15 years from now. But even then, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being like Clooney or Cusack - bachelor into his 40s.

Showme you crack me!! I really don't see it this way. I think that your expectations are quite high. I can picture Kristen refusing, she doesn't care. But again, last night KK made very good points in explaining why this is less likely to happen. But if it does, I am no Kristen's haters. I don't see lonliness in Rob at all. I don't think he minds that he doesn't have a girlfriend right now. I don't think he wants to bother finding someone he can trust. I think he just wants to be young and enjoy things as they come.
When a guy says he'd rather spend NYE with his mates rather than a special girl, that tells me that A. he's not as lonely as he lets on; and B. he's never experienced the kind of love where you just have to be with that person - all the time. Where you just want to be with that person as much as possible.
Many people are in long relationships but never really have that kind of love.
Liza I completely agree, and it's not a knock on Rob. He's still young, and has so much left to experience. He will (hopefully) find that kind of love one day, but I definitely don't think he has yet.

i know i'm prob reading too much into this, but i think they're really both nerdy, non-chalant, devil may care, eccentric goofballs and would be good together.
honestly, what it boils down to is i want rob happy. if rob does indeed want her, then i want her for him. LOL
I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree as well, because to me, that sounds more like a good friends relationship, and honestly, I can't blame Kristin if she is ultraware, cause she knows every little thing is analyzed, and it's got to be annoying as hell.

I don't care either, I guess ... I think it's just the shippers persistance (not you, your thoughts are coherent and well thought out, lol) that every look, movement and touch between them - or lack of - means something that is old to me. I almost don't want them to be together because of that. It's just kind of irritating. We can't have a picture of them together without the whole thing coming up, and honestly, I kind of dread Sun because of it.
Plus I feel bad for them that they are constantly subjected to the speculation, no matter what they say or do.
One last thing and I'll shut up about the Rob love life thing... We're all analyzing this from a woman's perspective, which we all know is vastly different from a man's. Rob might indeed have feelings for Kstew, *however*, men can walk away from those kinds of feelings in pursuit of other interests - career, friends, etc. My friends and I always refer to this as 'compartmentalization'. Men can shove it aside or make it part of their life, but it doesn't have to become their whole life. If they're not ready for it - they will just walk away.
Women, however, if we have those feelings about someone, we tend to just dive right in and go for it without giving thought to being ready ;p
This is all generally speaking, of course. There are definitely exceptions.
ok we've been reading and watching Rob's interviews and stuff, but seriousely I really think we don't know this guy, we don't see him as he sees himself. Someone with such a complex personality as rob, really isn't easy to read, especially on the "love" subject. There are so many things we're missing, and there are so many things contradicting with each other. I think not meany people know Rob on this point, not even people around him. I just know that Kristen seems to know him really good: "I know better than anybody else a version of Rob" Kristen Stewart.
These last couple weeks have ben Robtacular! First Rohbare, then Roberto (shirtless for heavens sake). Onto MTV Rob. But I wouldn't mind more shirtless Rob (a lot more).

It's all speculation. My speculative thoughts, however... ;p are that Rob has consciously made himself emotionally unavailable. I think he directs his emotion into his acting, music, etc. But as far as women are concerned, I think he has a wall up. And his "don't like me, i'm a dick" comment really emphasized that for me. That's not to say he isn't getting any - he's a guy, he's gotta have his release ;p
Showme - all I'm gonna say is ...unless you're with him 24/7, you don't know who is around him, or who has access to him. No matter how much we want to think we know ... all we get are small snippets of their lives.

Agreed again! I think he'd be a horrible boyfriend. That is, unless he lets that wall down - and then I can see him being very loyal and dedicated. Who knows if that will ever happen, though.
I think (speculation again!!) he's absolutely full of passion and maybe afraid of the intensity of it. I've seen it in his music more than anything else - he completely transforms and loses himself in it. There's such raw emotion in his voice when he sings that it literally floors me and stirs something within me (no, not lust! ;p)
So who knows, speculation again, but maybe he's afraid to be vulnerable. Because it's one thing to perform and lose yourself in the moment, channeling that emotion into artistic expression. But it's quite another to let another human being be the object of that emotion and to lay yourself open to that person.
Again, I totally agree ... you pretty much summed up my thoughts on Rob exactly, and I think his self doubt prolly affects him a lot, as far as showing vulnerability.
He does completely transform when he's singing, and I could really see him being afraid of the intensity of it. He strikes me as the type that really over thinks everything, and probably talks himself out of a lot of stuff.

I´m back, had to lunch, so love life mmm?? reading through your comments I see you have remarked some things he had said in interviews, and what I had learned in this couple of months since I´v read and watch ever interview of him out there, is that you can never really tell when he is saying the truth, I think he is honest and completely out there exposed during interviews, but he is telling a version of the truth, he is not giving everything out, in some interviews he said he never fell in love, in other he said that he felt something very special in one relation ship, we know there was one relationship but he seems to speak of different ones from time to time, resuming all this.. we read to much between the lines, and take everything he says for literal, and the truth is that he may not be too much media trained but he is really smart to know what is enough to say to maintain certain “mystique”, after all what he did so far till this jump in his career is the only thing that will remain out of the spotlight, from now on he will have to duel with his private life in front of the spotlight.

Ladies, ladies...how are all of you? Just stopped in for a second...reading all your K/R stuff...
My 2 cents: K knows R better than any of us do, and she is a smart girl. Though many think Rob is irresistible, in reality, knowing him well may tell a different story. I really like this guy, but I also think he can be odd, neurotic, detached, and protective of himself. It may be that the women who get to know him adore him as someone close to them personally but don't see him as romantic material. Can't tell you how many smokin' hot guys I've been really close friends with who I found physically attractive, but I knew that being anything beyond friends would not be satisfying for me or even realistic. No one is denying that K finds R attractive...I'm sure she does...but we don't know what she knows about Rob and we don't know what Michael is like. K is very, very smart and does not conform...she wouldn't let anyone tell her who she should or shouldn't be with. Remember when she said a few months ago that she wasn't going to date Rob just because a bunch of fans want her to? She knows what's up with this whole deal and the rumors...so does Rob.
Bottom line? They don't concern themselves with the rumors. They've both tried to dismiss them (as have others), but shippers haven't believed them. Now, they don't say anything about it at all because what's the point? If R and K don't see each other this summer, it will be because they are too busy but still in love. K and M don't see each other for a month, and they are split up according to shippers. Shippers crucified the story about R and Erika in Life and Style magazine as being trashy and a lie, but they also used the previous week's Life and Style mag story about K and R being involved as support for their movement.
Too many holes in both sides of the fence...At least we can discuss it on here respectfully and honestly. Some of the other blogs will totally tear you down if they don't agree.
firstly We are Robsessed but def not the whole world, it's enough to go and read somewhere else so who knows Kris' soul ? Personally, I can't imagine like I truly love somebody for 3 years, truly ! and bang ! it changes even with Rob (temptations ... it's another story, however...)
secondly, IMO it is possible to love 2 men, and it happens more frequently than we think
You said that very well, as usual. I've been friends with hot guys before but when you got to know them they definetly were not compatible with my personality,or some such thing. Just because Rob is hot doesn't mean that Kristen is so overcome by lust that she just wants to jump his bones.

The protective monster in me is rearing it's ugly head... EVERY actor, no matter the body, is enhanced in some way for filming. What people fail to recognize is that the makeup artists have to at least have a good canvas to work with. You can't make something out of nothing.

Rob worked out - period. He earned that body. So he had a little helping hand? So what? They all do.

I was wondering about the 6 pack and if it was airbrushed some. I'm glad to know I wasn't crazy for thinking it looked a little fake (mainly because it was showing up so well on camera).

ReplyDeletefrankly who cares if the abs where defined by the make up(pfft as if it doesn't happen with other actors or male models when they're doing photoshoots/ movies). it's not that big a deal,I refuse to be shallow and care about that stuff that much.
Lizalou, you are so right. I live in the Dallas area and if you aren't in a tanning bed all day, fixed to perfection and driving an SUV that costs more than your house (which is too big for your family to live in) then you get dirty looks and people think less of you. I was raised to be happy with who God made me and how He made others.

Of course they have to airbrush and give contour or else it won't show up on film. Also, Robward it supposed to look as smooth as marble, so they airbrush also to blend in body hair.

And of course there was some airbrushing going on, altho it's prolly more like contouring. They need to be enhanced to show up on film, and probably made to look ... deeper, if that makes sense. But like someone else said, there's no way he doesn't have decent abs, cause they have to have something to work with.

what can I say more? Kristen Stewart is lucky, and I must admit that I'm getting disturbed by showme's point of view on the situation (yes I read your comments last night and you kinda convinced me, but only on some points, or was it only the intensity of the pictures?) anyway, to speak only about the movie, think these two are doing a very good job. I really think Rob's body has been brushed (a little help is not lethal) and this idea doesn't bother me at all. You can brush many bodies but when it's Rob's the result is beyond everything!
I am proud of Kriten cause she did it, she run and they didn't use the double (many reports that she was nervous a bit) but I think the result is going to be amazing. You need to run for Rob (euhh sorry I meant Edward).

ReplyDeleteIt's really silly to think that abs show well on film when the skin is this white, so for the sake of the movie, airbrushing is normal... plus it's normal movie practice from what I gathered LOL
But I think he looks nicely toned, while still tall and skinny...
The abs with airbrushing are almost a bit too much to my taste, I'm sure it's more attractive without it and just some natural tan. No need to become bearlike, it's not attractive at all (sorry Kellan and Taylor, just not my type)!
And I hope that nobody will try to "bully" him into showing the goods on any occasion( like a show or an interview) to prove it's there. Well, as long as he doesn't have to visit Wanker Seacrest any time soon, other interviewers seem to be more civilized.

Any one with an ounce of common sense can definitely tell that Rob has some decent abs of his own, and that he must have worked hard over the last year to look like this. She's just bitter she can't have a piece.
I predict that the airbrushing of the abs and his workout routine will be the #1 interview question asked of Rob during the NM publicity blitz

I hear ya. And I'd like to point out to those of you that have not studied the photos intensely (wtf!), from side shots you can clearly see that Rob DOES have abs/a six pack. The movie makeup was merely enhancing the shadows so they show up on film. I have no issues with this. I appreciate the hard work and dedication this guy put into his role as Edward.
I'm off to get some exercise accomplished. I did nothing but sit in front of my computer yesterday, ugh! Kristen's *spectacular* booty made me realize how far I need to go in accomplishing my goals. Is she genetically blessed? Is it The Firm? I need to know.

Lizalou I just read yours and I can´t believe, how critical of everything people are, I noticed that aside the drooling soon after people started calling those are fake 6 pack.. COME ON!! they really know nothing about make up, of course he doesn´t have a sixpack but he has defined a lot the muscle, and make up department to create the “white ice cold” had to use green color too, so it takes away a lot of lines in the body, so after painting him "white ice cold", they have to remark the lines in his torso, of course they up lifted a sixpach, they do it for every actor even when they have one, there is not pic or take that is doe with out make up covering skin. (I worked as a make up artist for a year... damn why I didn´t get to make up Rob? hahaha).
Another question is why people care so much about six pack? I wan´t even expecting anything like that on Rob, I even was expecting less muscle definition (he really worked out hard to get that body in that fabulous shape)... I prefer ten times more that strong V definition he has on his hip, than any six pack. mmmmmm faints again thinking about it

Hmmm... I just don't see Rob settling down for a very long time (if at all). I can see him connected to various women, but in a Pitt/Jolie type of relationship? I just don't see it.

And I don't necessarily think that getting together would be good for them ... I can't put my finger on it, but Kristin just doesn't give off the vibe that she's into him at all. She just looks like she tolerates everything a lot of the time, and I don't think it would be a good thing for the movies. I mean, yes, they've got two more to film, but they are both doing other things as well, and would be apart a lot, and if they broke up, that could effect things ... I just don't think it would be healthy, but that's just my opinion.

Where you just want to be with that person as much as possible.

I don't care either, I guess ... I think it's just the shippers persistance (not you, your thoughts are coherent and well thought out, lol) that every look, movement and touch between them - or lack of - means something that is old to me. I almost don't want them to be together because of that. It's just kind of irritating. We can't have a picture of them together without the whole thing coming up, and honestly, I kind of dread Sun because of it.
Plus I feel bad for them that they are constantly subjected to the speculation, no matter what they say or do.
One last thing and I'll shut up about the Rob love life thing...
ReplyDeleteWe're all analyzing this from a woman's perspective, which we all know is vastly different from a man's.
Rob might indeed have feelings for Kstew, *however*, men can walk away from those kinds of feelings in pursuit of other interests - career, friends, etc.
My friends and I always refer to this as 'compartmentalization'. Men can shove it aside or make it part of their life, but it doesn't have to become their whole life. If they're not ready for it - they will just walk away.
Women, however, if we have those feelings about someone, we tend to just dive right in and go for it without giving thought to being ready ;p
This is all generally speaking, of course. There are definitely exceptions.

ReplyDeleteok we've been reading and watching Rob's interviews and stuff, but seriousely I really think we don't know this guy, we don't see him as he sees himself. Someone with such a complex personality as rob, really isn't easy to read, especially on the "love" subject. There are so many things we're missing, and there are so many things contradicting with each other. I think not meany people know Rob on this point, not even people around him. I just know that Kristen seems to know him really good: "I know better than anybody else a version of Rob" Kristen Stewart.
These last couple weeks have ben Robtacular! First Rohbare, then Roberto (shirtless for heavens sake). Onto MTV Rob. But I wouldn't mind more shirtless Rob (a lot more).

It's all speculation. My speculative thoughts, however... ;p
are that Rob has consciously made himself emotionally unavailable. I think he directs his emotion into his acting, music, etc. But as far as women are concerned, I think he has a wall up.
And his "don't like me, i'm a dick" comment really emphasized that for me.
That's not to say he isn't getting any - he's a guy, he's gotta have his release ;p

ReplyDeleteAgreed again! I think he'd be a horrible boyfriend. That is, unless he lets that wall down - and then I can see him being very loyal and dedicated. Who knows if that will ever happen, though.
I think (speculation again!!) he's absolutely full of passion and maybe afraid of the intensity of it. I've seen it in his music more than anything else - he completely transforms and loses himself in it. There's such raw emotion in his voice when he sings that it literally floors me and stirs something within me (no, not lust! ;p)
So who knows, speculation again, but maybe he's afraid to be vulnerable. Because it's one thing to perform and lose yourself in the moment, channeling that emotion into artistic expression. But it's quite another to let another human being be the object of that emotion and to lay yourself open to that person.

ReplyDeleteAgain, I totally agree ... you pretty much summed up my thoughts on Rob exactly, and I think his self doubt prolly affects him a lot, as far as showing vulnerability.

ReplyDeletereading through your comments I see you have remarked some things he had said in interviews, and what I had learned in this couple of months since I´v read and watch ever interview of him out there, is that you can never really tell when he is saying the truth, I think he is honest and completely out there exposed during interviews, but he is telling a version of the truth, he is not giving everything out, in some interviews he said he never fell in love, in other he said that he felt something very special in one relation ship, we know there was one relationship but he seems to speak of different ones from time to time, resuming all this.. we read to much between the lines, and take everything he says for literal, and the truth is that he may not be too much media trained but he is really smart to know what is enough to say to maintain certain “mystique”, after all what he did so far till this jump in his career is the only thing that will remain out of the spotlight, from now on he will have to duel with his private life in front of the spotlight.

ReplyDeleteMy 2 cents: K knows R better than any of us do, and she is a smart girl. Though many think Rob is irresistible, in reality, knowing him well may tell a different story. I really like this guy, but I also think he can be odd, neurotic, detached, and protective of himself. It may be that the women who get to know him adore him as someone close to them personally but don't see him as romantic material. Can't tell you how many smokin' hot guys I've been really close friends with who I found physically attractive, but I knew that being anything beyond friends would not be satisfying for me or even realistic. No one is denying that K finds R attractive...I'm sure she does...but we don't know what she knows about Rob and we don't know what Michael is like. K is very, very smart and does not conform...she wouldn't let anyone tell her who she should or shouldn't be with. Remember when she said a few months ago that she wasn't going to date Rob just because a bunch of fans want her to? She knows what's up with this whole deal and the rumors...so does Rob.
Bottom line? They don't concern themselves with the rumors. They've both tried to dismiss them (as have others), but shippers haven't believed them. Now, they don't say anything about it at all because what's the point? If R and K don't see each other this summer, it will be because they are too busy but still in love. K and M don't see each other for a month, and they are split up according to shippers. Shippers crucified the story about R and Erika in Life and Style magazine as being trashy and a lie, but they also used the previous week's Life and Style mag story about K and R being involved as support for their movement.
Too many holes in both sides of the fence...At least we can discuss it on here respectfully and honestly. Some of the other blogs will totally tear you down if they don't agree.
